I have the opportunity to interview Bryan next week. A sort of before/during/after the Villa article for H&V. Is there anything you would like me to ask him or would like to know?

Is Andrei Kanchelskis still in his pocket?
-
How was he accepted at Small Heath when he went on loan there?
-
How good was Dwight Yorke in training?
-
Does he remember being on the picture round on ‘A question of Sport’ ?
-
How is his Academy going?
-
Does he class himself as a Villa supporter now as he grew up as a Blues fan ?
-
Might have some interesting anecdotes about socialising with York and Bosnich......
-
A good mate of mine in my kingshurst days, tell him Robbo says hello!
-
good call on how Dwight Yorke was in training!!

Nothing to do with Bryan Small, but I'm from Kingshurst originally

Nice guy Bryan Small. He was best mates with Dwight Yorke and Yorke lived next door to my female cousin in Shustoke for a while in his early Villa days when he lodged with an older couple. I used to see Yorke and Small in Rosie's in Solihull in the early nineties and I accompanied my cousin to Yorke's 21st birthday party which was held at Villa Park with all his team mates there. I was a last minute sub as my cousin had had a row with her boyfriend so I went with her in his place.
I have just remembered a summer Sunday night in The Sheldon pub in 1991 when Dwight Yorke and my cousin came along to meet up with a few of us. The fixtures had just come out and a couple of us were talking to him about the first game of the season and BFR's return to Sheffield Wednesday. He had no idea what we were talking about as he hadn't taken any notice of the fixtures coming out at that point!

Has Dwight done a book yet? Nine years at the Villa during pretty good times for us, would love to read about his thoughts and anecdotes from those times.
-
Bump. Scheduled for next week but trying to get it done earlier so it can be included in the next issue of H&V. Any more questions?
-
Toughest opponent, favourite player ever at Villa, looking back, would he do anything differently, does he feel miffed that the players these days seem to earn so much more than was available back then?
-
Does he know that his Wiki page claims he played in the Champions League? For us against Deportivo. Did he edit it hoping no one would notice?
How did he celebrate when he scored the only goal of his professional career?
-
Favourite Villa kit?
-
Why didn't Barry take the penalty?
Who is Andrew Greaves?
Where is the African Car Reverser these days?
These will determine if he really is Villa or not.
-
What is his ranking of Villa left backs since he was at the club?
-
Was he big pals with Neil Cox?
EDIT: Just wiki'd and he only played 35 League games for us! I'd have sworn it was a lot more than that!

Yes he did a book but it was Man United authorized merchandise so it was more about his time with them than with us. I want a Dean Saunders bio. That would be great.
-
How did they celebrate after the '94 Cup Final Win?
-
Thanks all. Interview is scheduled for Thursday at 2pm. All sensible questions posted have been incorporated into the list.

Yes he has, a number of years back when he was still playing. My cousin told me she got a mention in the book so I flicked through it in WH Smiths to find what he said about her. It was only about two or three lines about how she was a good friend when he first came over to England and they lived next door to each other. Despite that, and despite the fact I have bought loads of football autobiographies over the years I never actually bought Yorke's book.

Interview now recorded. I'll write it all up tomorrow and get it to Dave for the deadline on Sunday. There was only one question he declined to answer.
-
So it was him that edited his Wiki page to include playing in the Champions League.

Ha!
Thank you for printing the interview, Dave. It looks really good. Hope it goes down well with the subscribers and you consider publishing it in the Christmas compendium. He is delighted with it and the way it looks.
