Title: Watching the Final
Post by: robbo1874 on May 18, 2018, 09:14:31 AM
Hi all,

Trying to work out how I can watch the Fulham match.

I’m in Aus and gave the Foxtel away when we got relegated.

I’ve seen you can sign up to AVTV for 22 quid for the season.

Does anybody know if they are showing the final. Also, is it available in Australia? You can’t get 5 live etc here.

Don’t want to sign up to it if I can’t access it.

Alternative is probably live streaming, which I’ve never been able to get to work. Not that IT savvy unfortunately, so hoping handv-ers can help me out.

Cheers

Rob.

If you are on facebook, sign up to a few of the Villa groups. You can usually find a live video on one of them.

Find a mate who has Foxtel with the Sports pack included, then gently persuade them to lend you one of their three allocated Foxtel iOS/Android/Windows logins.

I think AVTV only shows games which aren't already being televised somewhere in the world?

I definitely used avtv to watch a game that was on telly in the UK while I was in Hungary.

I've never used it but I was going off what it said on the website - https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2017/08/04/avtv-live-now-available (https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2017/08/04/avtv-live-now-available)

Quote from: Pravda
Live video streams with commentary will also be available to international fans only (non UK & Ireland) for all non-televised matches that are made available to the club.

If the game isn't on Sky it should be available on AVTV, well that's what I'm hoping!

It'll be on Sky. It's the Final.
Title: Re: Watching the Final

Pretty sure it won't be on AVTV as it'll be broadcast live in both the UK and a number of overseas markets. Foxtel is your best chance if you can source a login.

The Pig'N' Whistle on Riverside will likely have it on, they have the Liverpool game scheduled so can't see why they wouldn't have our game on beforehand.

http://pignwhistle.com.au/live-sports/?sport=football&date=

Last option is streams, but it's always a gamble on stability. Buffering can be a right royal pain in the arse.

Rob not sure where you are in Oz but every capital city has a casino and their sports bars will show it. I remember seeing our run to 2000 FA Cup final at the casino in Perth.

BEIN Sports Connect has a two week free trial which you can cancel without charge, should work nicely.

Got some friends coming down from the north west who I'm meeting up with after in town. Where's good to watch the football in the city centre? Villa game and then the European Cup final?

Cheers.

Good call. I'll send them that way. Likely where we will end up anyway come the evening when we're back from Wembley.

Cheers Percy.

Well I won’t be watching it, after 15 years of being engaged 7 weeks ago we booked this Saturday to finally tie the knot! I think trying to sneak a peak at the game will get me in serious trouble!

Ha ha I suppose so! Thank you.

I must admit after the Wolves game I didn’t think it would come to this. Oh well, for all watching I’ll be thinking of you all and probably sneaking a glance while in the toilet. My fingers will be crossed
Enjoy the game all.

Thanks as well BE. UTV

The game is being shown live on BeIN Sports (channel Max 5) in France. This is a subscription channel but if you are in a reasonably-sized town, you should find a bar that has it. Also, look for English/Irish* style pubs who will probably have Sky Sports.

If you tell me where you are staying I can find out for you.

You can also try the website Allomatch.com - Aston Villa games (http://www.allomatch.com/watch-live-game-pub/france/football/championship-fulham-aston-villa-26-05-2018.html#/watch-live-game-pub/france/football/championship-fulham-aston-villa-26-05-2018.html?page=1&zone_id=501&bounds=((36.3499997693318%2C%20-11.133593750000045)%2C%20(54.59714861864092%2C%2015.233593749999955))&match_id=87317)

(not all bars publish their match calendar on here but you may get lucky).

If you want to avoid dodgy streams and have a spare £7 you can watch it on Sky. You just need to download a good quality VPN app for your phone or tablet (such as TunnelBear) and then pay for a NowTV daily sports pass. Bob's your uncle you are watching the Sky coverage.

Guînes up north, near Calais ?

If so try Aux Scorpions, bar PMU. Place Foch, the main square. On Google maps the Photo shows a photo when the bar's name was 'Le Lion d'Or'.

They normally close at 7pm.but they showed the Euros and World Cup at their place. They have darts machines too. And betting. You never know.

I can't be at the game Saturday which kills me. I will watch it at home as if I go to the pub I know there will be noses and Smethwick pie eaters cheering Fulham on which will send me off the deep end. So to avoid trouble i'll be sat in front of the TV with a few bottles of red.

Sound will be bluetoothed through the Bose...

Given the ko time is 2a.m here in Aus, i’ll Probably have to swerve the neighbours for a few weeks!!
