How many will we get at Middlesbrough?
Clubs only have to offer 2000 in the play offs. The club can make the decision to offer more if they wish to.

Another back in the times gaff.  I am going  with or without a ticket but not a place at play off time to start the big we are.  Come on Villa we can do this.

I would expect us to match them ticket for ticket so it's up to them how many of their fans they want to travel to VP. Give us 2,000 and I'd hope (expect) us to do the same.

We will give our usual away allocation. It's not really set up to segregate it in a way that allows more Villa fans so we would only have empty seats if we restricted their tickets in a fit of pique. I'd expect Boro would give us plenty of tickets as they won't sell out. Derby might give a smaller allocation.

Boro gave Brentford quite a few from recollection.

Boro only gave 2,500 for the league game but that included the corner bit that could be turned into the no mans land.

We gave both blues and milwall 2,000 so if boro reduce our allocation, I'd expect us to return the compliment

Boro and Derby would both only give us 2000 imo. Neither would sell out their home leg but both crowds would be around 30k.

Interestingly I don't think we'll sell out at home, I think we'll get around 38k. We didn't sell out the quarter final against Albion with 6k of them and we didn't sell out the semi against Blackburn, although they only brought a minibus.

Think both Derby and Boro would stick to league allocation to be honest. Definitely think we'll sell out home leg.

That's a given, as long as we're still in the tie

We would have given those reprobates reduced allocations on police advice. I'm unaware of any history of needle between Villa and Boro so can't see why either side would reduce allocations. Plus, when Millwall and Blose had reduced allocations, the seats were empty, we can't put extra Villa fans in if we reduce the allocation by a few hundred. It would be pointless and petty.

Just done a bit of Googling (Sunday nights are that boring) and in the play off semi in 2007 Derby gave Southampton 5500, although away fans were still behind the goal then. In 2014 they gave Brighton 2700.
In 2015 Boro gave Brentford 2000 but they didn't sell out so wouldn't have taken more than that anyway.
Title: Re: Middlesbrough away
Post by: Brassneck on April 29, 2018, 10:09:36 PM
Of course it's not petty. If they reduce our allocation to 2,000, they should be made aware that their allocation will be reduced accordingly as well. It's called negotiating and may well be an incentive to them to allow another 500 of our fans to get to the game.
Title: Re: Middlesbrough away
Post by: cdbearsfan on April 29, 2018, 10:13:22 PM
Firstly, there is no indication that they will reduce our allocation, so let's not get ourselves too upset about a hypothetical situation.

Secondly, if a club's board of directors reduce our allocation, why should we punish said club's supporters? Especially if the seats will just remain empty if the away fans don't have them. That's the very definition of petty.

We could give Villa fans the upper tier.

Out of interest why do some people think neither Boro nor Derby will sell out at home? I would assume they are both capable of selling 28k tickets for a play off game.
Title: Re: Middlesbrough away
Post by: cdbearsfan on April 30, 2018, 10:44:28 PM
I'd expect Derby to sell out. I doubted Boro would, as they always seem a rubbish support sort of team. However, I've since Googled the crowd they got for their last playoff and they did sell out, so imagine they would against us, too.
Title: Re: Middlesbrough away

Boro will get 30k. When they were in the prem they used to give away fans behind the goal but since relegation they've changed it to by the corner flag which many clubs do now so not sure how that will affect the allocation.

Can I get in the queue behind wittonwarrior for a ticket please. Will likely be travelling up regardless and trying to go in the home end if I don’t get one for ours. Can also offer the guarantee of a final ticket in exchange as I’m a ST holder who is away for it (that’s if we get there)!

I'll have two spares if it's Boro, I've been there already this season and I have plans for that evening. If it's Derby I'll probably go though. PM me if you still want tickets after it's confirmed as being Boro.

I make that one ticket for WW and one for Shirley, unless either of you have been otherwise sorted since posting.

I'm not one to study away allocations in much detail but I honestly thought we would have had a better chance of more tickets against Boro than Derby,
looks like I was wrong

if there happens to be a couple of spares going anywhere I will be a willing buyer

We've given Boro 2,000 tickets. Glad we returned the favour. 2,000 tickets will limit both teams atmospheres and hope Villa fans can really step up to the plate here. Hope the unused tickets won't go to waste however.

2k of them and 40k of us. They'd have had the full allocation I suspect if they hadn't been petty.

Given they don't fill their ground and haven't in 20 odd years, it seems churlish. By the same token, if they sell out, it will be their biggest following at B6 since I can remember. Probably ever I suspect.

2000 each seems a bit daft but all teams have to agree pricing guidelines. Any more than 40 sheets for the final would be taking the piss. I can live with being fleeced for the FA Cup final but for who gets promoted from Division 2 when there are likely 2 of us going? Fuck that if it is silly money.

Quite rightly, Fulham beg for fans to fill their end for them all season (roughly 7000 tickets) and now theres a big game up only offering out 2k despite receiving 3100. Fulham are absolutely terrible on the road as well.

Also, read somewhere that Fulham have currently only sold 1400 so far, poor.

Just looked on their site. If away allocation is sold out, they don’t accept new client registrations for that particular game.
