Title: Hull City vs Aston Villa Pre-Match Thread
Post by: Bad English on March 29, 2018, 05:45:01 AM
The next game is upon us. 5.30pm kick-off in Hull. They are 18th but we are Aston Villa.

1-3 no worries.

Must win

Can’t say confidentially what will happen as I’d never have predicted the last two games

Suspect Jedinak won’t be fresh enough after two games already this week

I’d play Lansbury over hourihane but doubt Bruce will

Either way he’s going to have to learn to rotate over the next fortnight

Hull 0 Villa 2 . Hull are struggling and due to their fans anger with the owners I doubt they are enjoying playing at home.

Given that they have scored 53 and conceded 59 goals so far this season I think 0-0 is unlikely.

are there ‘must win’ games anymore?
Surely we can afford to drop points now it’s only the plays off in target ( not too many of course).

I think we are shot and the international break will not have helped.

I will go for a score draw and for us to take our chances in the play offs.  Just can't see us winning too many of the remaining games.  Steve Brucie will need to step up for  the play offs and motivate the players for one final push.

Last time I was there was the awful night that finally did for Lamberk (was it? or another dud-manager?!! - there have been so many ...).
Bruce vs a previous club: he'll be desperate to win, so I think we may see the Expansive Villa team (a la Wolves or Blunderland)rather than the Minnie-Mouse team that last played at Bolton.

Win.

Kodjia is going to be on the bench.

Blimey that's quite a turnaround from SB ruling him out for the season not so long ago.

Just hope we haven't rushed him back too quickly like we probably did at the start of the season.

Anyway as for the game, think we'll nick it 1-2. Always thought this was the more likely of the two away games we'd win and we'll probably pick up again now Cardiff are miles in the distance. Think SB tends to have a good record against his former clubs aswell.

They have got Abel Hernandez back so more cutting edge upfront but Hull are terrible at the back so we should be scoring 2 at least.

With the benefit of hindsight I would have taken a loss to Wolves and wins against  QPR and Bolton

A win virtually guarantees a play off position thanks to Derby’s implosion. Got to keep the pressure on Cardiff.  I’m hoping for any kind of win after the last two shockers.

I've been twice. First time was a few season's back just before New Year's Eve. We won 1-0 (from memory), it was absolutely freezing and upon checking into our B&B, the owner handed us our room keys whilst he was in his pants. We didn't have breakfast.

I called round to meet a hypnotist once who had been recommended to me to fill a comedy hypnotism slot at the apartment complex where I was the entertainments manager. Our previous hypnotist had returned to England for family reasons. He opened the door to me naked and remained naked (and smoking a joint) for the whole of our conversation. I eventually clinched the deal, despite the fact he was stoned and more interested in talking about Star Trek than business. We later became mates and socialised together, but thankfully it was the first and last time I saw him naked. I honestly can't remember if in our time as friends I ever brought up the subject of our rather interesting first meeting.

To be fair his stage name was 'Doctor Strange', so in fairness the clues were possibly there for me to be wary in advance.

That reminds me of a story I read about some holiday cabaret Hypnotist (called Doctor Strange funnily enough) who did all his business dealings in the nude and put his interviewers into a trance and made them fondle his buttocks.
