Initial allocation of 2,600 with another 2,200 if we want them.
-
We want them!
-
The 2,600 are in the lower tier. Only after those are sold will they start selling the upper tier.
£30 lower tier, £35 upper tier is quite steep for a game that's live on Sky. It will be interesting to see how sales go for this one. Thinking back to earlier in the season, we didn't sell a simikar allocation at Barnsley for a live Sky game.
-
The Red Lion in Ash Vegas to get a visit from a few Villa coaches before hand. I only work 5 minutes away.
-
This will sell out, no bother.
-
Yep it will, easy away to get to.
-
Bournemouth Lions are going!
-
Bournemouth Lions are going!
Yep, easy peasy. Comfortable four and half train journey from Bournemouth to Manchester and then after a pint or ten quick twenty minute hop to Horwich. Getting back might be a little bit more difficult though!
-
It's not all that clear on the National Rail website, but it appears that there may be a rail replacement bus service between Preston and Manchester via Horwich every weekend, unless they've drawn a bus in the wrong place on their map. See links below. I hope someone can tell me I'm wrong! I can't see a bus service coping with a football crowd.

Incidentally, it seems that there's a rail replacement bus for the last part of the route to Hull (about an hour) on Easter Saturday, the day we play there.
-
How much would a taxi from Manchester to Bolton cost? I'm guessing a small fortune.
-
£30 ish,its like Sutton or Solihull to town.
-
And a fabulous Polish church, if you found yourself in the neighbourhood.

Thanks. Expensive proposition there and back unless I can persuade people to share.

When I've looked at train tickets online for Bolton on 17th they don't indicate it being a bus service from Piccadilly.

I'd noticed that, Meanwood, but National Rail say this in their announcement:
These changes are not currently shown in the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner, please check back nearer to the time of travel.
That's what makes it all rather confusing. As I say, I hope I'm wrong
-
I have two references with all away games on them going spare if anyone is looking. Please PM me.
Not going due to saving for a house and forthcoming baby!
-
Horwich isn't that far from Wigan so if you're going down the train/taxi route, get one to Wigan and Taxi shouldn't cost as much.
-
Its only about 15-25 minutes traffic dependent from Wigan town centre.
-
Thanks. Worried about getting the last train, may see if my football fwend fancies a night in Madchestah.

Bit of a nightmare if it is bus particularly as the current plan is to have been on the beers for several hours beforehand.

On holiday so if anyone needs my customer ref please pm me - got 8 away credits showing
-
Has anyone had any problems with the AV online booking site today? - can't seem to get a ticket despite having qualifying purchase history.
-
Site was down for a time this afternoon.
-
Yeah, done what I needed to do - got 2 tickets.
-
Trains to Horwich are officially off according to train booking website today. Via Wigan seems most plausible option. Anyone with local knowledge got another suggestion?
-
Possible problem with Wigan idea is they're at home in FA cup that weekend and TV slot hasn't been decided yet. If it is Sat at 5.30 as well then getting a taxi might not be as straightforward.
-
575 is every 15 minutes, takes half an hour to Horwich.

Too right. I reckon that's the longest three miles in the universe.
Would it really have killed the Sheffield tram people to lay on the odd football special?

About 450 left of the 2600 down stairs. On sale to 1 away as of 5pm.
-
277 left in the lower tier.
-
6 of us so far from Bournemouth
-
Trains are definitely off between manc and Bolton all weekends in march
-
Upstairs is now on sale.
-
Only Steak and Ale pies left.
-
Around 200 have gone since it went on general sale last night.
So its now around 3700 ish gone. Should be close to selling out.
-
Got to say our away support has been tremendous this season especially taking into consideration the numerous non 3pm matches
-
Another two hundred sold.
-
Only 5 left of what's available. One more block left to go on sale. Probably around 3900-4300 sold.
-
Should sell out after yesterday surely.
-
2200 up stairs and 3/4 of the blocks are gone. It appears fairly symmetrical so at a guess I'd say 500 left.
-

Any advice how to get there from Lime Street with the trains off WW?

Tickets back on sale.

There's a Kirkby to Wigan train. Then bus or taxi it up. Not sure how late they run though.
-
4079 sold according to Twitter.
-
Selling nicely today. Would expect the last 700 odd to go.
Cracking following.
-
550 left.
-
Is Horwich likely to be massively rammed everywhere? There seem to be more pubs there than Bolton proper.
-
7 of us now coming up from Bournemouth. After the massive high of last Saturday, followed by an even bigger low on Tuesday, I'm just starting to look forward to Saturday and the long trip North.
-

Definitely go to Wigan if you're travelling by train. It's not far at all, and I think the ground is actually closer to Wigan town centre than Bolton. Taxis are usually quite plentiful from outside Wigan Northwestern station or further up the hill in the town centre, and it's only about a 10 minute journey to Horwich.
There are quite a few pubs in Horwich, but they're nearly all a bit of a trek to the ground, so I'd probably get to Wigan a bit earlier, and drink there, then get a taxi. If you're driving up, try and avoid the car parks on the Middlebrook as getting out afterwards used to be a nightmare, although possibly less so now on League 1 crowds.
-
I'm going via Manchester because we have a hotel there. I take it you can't get to Wigan from Manchester on the train?
-
Great support again.

Some fast trains from Picc to Wigan and some slow ones from Vic.

I'm going corporate in an away end box, Dave Javu will be in toe too. We want to keep it as real as possible so to do this I want to go to a pub I've been to beforehand, I think it's in Horwich and begins with the letter R, can't remember its name for the life of me. I've been a few times, it's also one Risso recommended some years ago.

The Rivington? It's right at the other end of Horwich, near Blackrod. Used to be quite good, but bear in mind I haven't lived there for 12 years!
-
Brilliant away support considering its on the telly.
-
Got a spare ticket with optional travel from Oldbury if anyone is interested
Cheers Stu

Cheers Risso, that’ll do if we have an hour to kill.

I think we are going straight to the ground now. Recommendations for where to park for a quick getaway after the game?

I hoping that's as its a late game the retail park will be quiet. So hopefully not too bad. It's all 2 lane escape.

Thanks.
