agreed. We have three central midfielders in there so a wide option would have been useful. I suppose Jack could go there in a pinch. Hope it's nothing serious for Green. He did play midweek for the U23's so maybe he isn't ready for two game in a week.

He got a little sucked in during the first half as we were pushed back. He was decent in the second half and does a lot of unseen work. He'll be more aggressive and further up the pitch today I imagine.

I'll take 2-0 to be honest. Uncomplicated, mostly dominant, unfussed at the back victory. Where we never really hit top gear but never look in any danger of losing or conceding. A bit like last week in the second half had managed a second goal.

Fair play to Bruce for having the balls to change things in his staff and bring in Agnew. He’s made a massive difference in a very short time. We sometimes play a little too open but look an entirely different proposition in attack and especially at home.

we look more mobile with thor in the team , much much better than Whelan and everyone seems to be enjoying playing . Hogan as become a lethal goalscorer now .

Barney is an excellent option in that deep midfield role. So mobile, tough-tackling, keeps it simple. We are a lot faster in the transition with him in the team.

Grealish is showing the quality many people knew he had.
It's just a great all round performance.

Totally agree on Amavi actually. Although I think our current FBs are better suited to championship football.
Sometimes too, the player can gradually adapt to the system - I still don't think we're playing to Hogan in the way he had at Brentford where he scored bags, but he's definitely making a better go of it now (think Agnew has had a role in that).

I give whoever (Bruce, coaches etc) has told him to drop 10-15 yards deeper a lot of credit. It's similar to the way De Bruyne has changed his game at City in the sense that it allows him to be involved in play as much as possible. He can float all over the pitch and move us forward.
The best part of his game is opening up space for others and if he gets it in a wide forward/second striker role there's never enough play in front of him to affect the game as much as he can do with his ability.
