2-0 hopefully. We lost this one last year didn't we? Hogan and Adomah to score in first half and we defend adequately in a dull second half.
-
FIFA 18 predicts a 5-1 home win:- Hamill (11), Adomah (pen) (55), Hourihane (65), Hogan (72), Grealish (89), Snodgrass (93)
-
Shouldn't this be a pre-match thread?
Anyway, it's got to be a Villa win.
I'm going for 3-0.
-
Injury concerns per Bruce....
Jedi
Glenn
Elmo
If Jedi is fit he should start. Otherwise I'd give Bjarney a start in that position ahead of Glenn/Yoko
-

Yes it should. I was trying to amend but see that the Head Dave got there first

6-1

6-1
Sounds good. I'd better buy a ticket!

3-0 home win.

At the bookies?

Time for a resounding Home win.
4-1.

They've not lost in 5, but at the same time they have only one once in 13 and haven't scored a great deal in that time. They did well to hold Barca last week, although I note Real Wolverhampton have only scored 9 in 10 games.
For me I would go with the following;
Johnstone
Hutton
Terry
Chester
Elmo [De Laet if Elmo is not fit, although I suspect Taylor will come back in and Hutton switch to right back]
Jedinak [or Thor if the Jedi is out]
Snodgrass
Hourihane
Grealish
Adomah
Hogan
We need to avoid any slip ups against sides like this here on out to ensure pressure is maintained. Get on the front foot by ensuring we play that higher starting point for the full backs and midfield. Plenty of bodies in and around the box when we go forwards.

Jedi - shame but think Bjork will suffice rather than Onomah who is gash
Glenn - No loss I suppose
Elmo - Please bring in Bree / DeLaet - DO NOT change Hutton over and bring in Taylor
2-0 Jack and Chester
I want these home wins to become boring now until end of season
-
2-0 For us and the winning run to be extended.
-
I think this is a big game for Jack. He's looked excellent since coming into the team, against decent opposition that have looked to attack. Saturday will be different and he'll need to unlock a stubborn defence (presumably, I haven't seen Barnsley play recently...). Seems odd to say, but playing against weaker opposition will be a bigger test for him. A great chance to show the league that he can be unplayable.

Yep.

3-0

Home win, no drama, move along now nothing to see!
-
Home win
1-0 Penalty
Frustrating game but 3 valuable points.
-
These are fast approaching becoming almost must win games now. Can't see there being too many changes to the side unless there are injuries.

3-1

2-1, Adomah and Hourihane

We don’t have many not must win games left because of the 2 bad runs and other fuck ups.
-
0-0 draw, Warren Aspinall to come on for a disappointing Malcolm Allen
-
2-0.
-
any type of win please Villa...but if I had to stick my neck out with a prediction....4 nil Villa
UTV
The Doc
-
3-0
Grealish, Chester and Hogan.
-
2-0. Hogan and Grealish.
-
Banana skin,body swerved, 4-0 spanking ☝️
-
Messy goal in the 4th minute by Chester and Bruce shuts up shop gone 15 minutes by replacing Hogan with Barny.
-
Can't lose, must win, cup final, no easy games in this league, Barnsley not to be underestimated, Villa Park fortress, potential banana skin, what the fuckin' ell was that, sort it out Potato Head, FFS, just fucking win you wankers!
-
5-0
hogan
snodgrass
grealish
bjork
Terry

3-0

2-0 home win

Should be, and needs to be, a win.

Voting home win. Predictable yes and predictable match. However that's in hope and expectation not as preference. What I mean here is the more of the same from villa in a comfy but would have liked it properly comfy victory.
Against Forest it would have been annoying to say the least if had come away with a point based on overall match.
Similarly it will be annoyingly frustrating to draw or lose this match when Barnsley don't quite have the tools to defeat villa. I think essentially will over power and the quality of Snodgrass and Grealish as well as solidarity of Terry and Chester would mean another 'more of the same' result (win) and performance (good enough for what it is-promotion drive)
Maybe a 2 or 3 goals to nil however I wouldn't be surprised though still happy with a 1-0.
Thats how I see it with Bruce and the team, players he's getting by and now performing results wise with spells of nice football though it's mainly not the most pleasing to watch but it's professional to get the job.
To sum up its professional and I'm hoping for progress as a build of momentum. I do think the quality is there to have attractive attacking performances it's a consistency that is lacking to have a 90 minute match.
A big win or any sort for example is particularly lost in gaining momentum again when there is a extended break due to Cup weekend and match not till 10 days later. I see Bruce giving them some sort of Portugal or Dubai training break in this time.
Villa win 2-0 comfortable enough but both teams perhaps could have done better! That's how i see it going
-
2-0 home win. We move on.
-
At some point we're going to lose a game which we're expected to win but we beat these comfortably enough at their place and we should have scored more than three. I'll go 2-1 this time. Snodgrass and Hourihane with ours. Some chap I've never heard of for them.
-
We as a crowd win these games. 2-0, Snodders and Albert.
-
3-0 win and a Hogan hat tick - all in honour of our former number 9 Cyrille
-
1-1
-
2-0 home win. Hopefully we will be two up by the hour mark so it is a comfortable last half hour as opposed to a nervy last half hour.
-
Could be a frustrating one, they held already-a-premier-league-team Barcehampton last week to 0-0.
-
Could be a frustrating one, they held already-a-premier-league-team Barcehampton last week to 0-0.
I mentioned this earlier. Its worth noting that despite Real Wolverhampton beating Swansea 0-0 and 1-2 over two legs in the FA Cup, they've only managed 9 goals in 10.
-
The right approach to the game and we'll win it. I think they'll be parking the bus so we need jack at his very best to open them up.
-
0-0
-
I'll go for 2-1 Villa; Hogan and Snodgrass to put us two up at the break before Barnsley pull one back on the hour and have us all unnecessarily chewing our finger nails right up to the final whistle...
-
Friend wants to know where you get the number 7 from up town now?
-
1-1. We go again.
-
4 - 2
-

From the number 7 bus stop.
-
...which is at the top of Livery Street at the side of Snow Hill Station.
-
Many thanks.
-
1-0 and will be thankful for that
-
Another excellent home performance were we smash Barnsley to pieces enjoying less possession and having less shots on goal but winning by the unbelievable score of 1 - 0!!!!!!

It might be tongue and cheek, but if you watched the Forest game, you won't witness a more commanding and comfortable away performance all season.
If you're serious then crikey.

For Canadian based Villa fans. I subscribed to a legal streaming service called DAZN. Also downloaded the app from the App Store to my phone and iPad. Has loads of games, not just football. I’m watching Derby vs Bristol City right now. Tomorrow Villa vs Barnsley is the feature EFL game. The quality of the broadcast is outstanding. Puts AVTV to shame. You can pay $20 a month or there is a promo of $150 for year.

So I guess that means it won't be on AVTV tomorrow.

Correct.
-
I've found the AVTV coverage good to be honest. And of course the games they transmit are not shown anywhere else
-
Got to take full advantage from tonight’s result at Derby. Don’t take anything for granted.
-
No excuses tomorrow. We must win and go 3rd.

It's the featured game on our UK highlights here on Channel 5 aswell.
Instantly recognisable as it's the one 3pm Championship game with more than one camera angle.
I do find it bizarre given the money being pumped into the championship now, all games aren't properly recorded like premier league games are.
Spanish, French, Italian and German second division matches are.

This won't be easy. We're going to have to grind out a tight win. I'll go 1 or 2 nil. Hopefully Hulk can find the net again. Keith Wyness made a very interesting point last night about Steve Agnews input. Said he's spent a lot of time working with Hogan. Apparently the coaches are now working on their own expertise. Sounds like a plan.
-
The speed we move the ball is key in the final third. We can cope with the midfield being further advanced as I think they'll tuck in with a low defensive block.

A plan, Edge? What be this strange widdershinnery of which ye speaketh?! :o
Anyroad', I'm swathed in my usual cautious optimism regarding this arternoon's match - so I'm going for a cheeky 2-1 home win: after the inevitable early-doors worldy/fluke from a Tyke who hasn't scored for years. Obviously.

Burton, Barnsley and Preston? All comfortable with plenty of breathtaking space.

Ha ha yeah sorry to throw such a curve ball in there. I had to look up the word "plan" as it's such a strange notion in these parts. Apparently Mr Wyness has lots of them.
-
If this snow keeps falling all day it's going to hinder our free flowing football today.
-
In the 59-60 promotion season I remember enduring loads of 1-0 victories, I checked and it was 7 .
We also beat Bristol City that season 5-0 but it was away.
We hammered Charlton 11-1 too so who knows that me be yet to come, Today?
-
Fuck off snow 😡
-
Prediction game to be abandoned because of snow.
-
Can take nothing for granted in the Championship but think we should have too much for Barnsley. Will go 2-0 to the Villa. Double A and Terry to score.
-
Goooooooooooool!
