Like the line up and shows the strength in depth we have - only Hogan Samba and Kodjia still injured - I don't count Gabby !

Happy with line-up, interested to see how Callum does and Grealish is waiting in the wings if needed. Would love a stream...feels like forever since we've seen Green as well.

Why play one up front at home vs Peterborough? I’d like to have seen RHM start. The critical thing will be how we play now that Davis is back in. He’s a big target so will we go back to whacking it long or stay with the style we played vs Bristol City?

My thoughts exactly. I'd have Rushian up with Davis, and O'Hare behind them. Cautious Bruce, though. It's the norm

Why play a formation that the first team isn’t playing? They can still be extremely attacking but retain the consistency of formation

If you'd asked me a couple of weeks ago how we'd play it would be a no brainer. Now with Agnew behind the scenes, I'm hoping for something a lot more intelligent than the usual Bruce guff. Expect O'Hare to be given a free role as the 10, Green and Bjork wide with Hourihane and hopefully Onomah in the centre. Ideally I'd love to see Onamah playing deeper there but I still have little faith in Bruce in playing him in his best position.

I guess giving RDL a go in the middle along side Terry is an opportunity to test what would be an emergency situation should we lose Chester, Elphick and Samba. Maybe Bree has been given the go ahead at right back to give a few clubs a look at him with the idea of a loan this window.

With such an embarrassment of riches, we shouldn't expect anything but a convincing Villa win but then it is the Cup. Nah. 3-0 Villa.

Easy now. We've gone 18 months with no plan, then after one game with a plan you want a second? Not very demanding are you, Nicholas?

All our free flowing football this season was used in the Bristol City game - he will sit deep and use that game as proof that we are exciting.

It's gone a bit flat last 20 minutes. Balance isn't right, but you get disjointed performances sometimes with rusty players and a group whose not played before.

We need to be quicker at closing in the final third of our half and move that ball quicker.

I'd bring Callum central.

If we played our best team then I am sure we'd be comfortable. As is it, we playing a combination of players coming back from injury, players that have had little game time or kids. It was hardly going to be a coherent display and tbh I don't really care. A cup run is not what we really need with other priorities.

We did all that at Spurs last season and it was a dreadful watch.

We can dream of winning the cup again when we're an established premier league team.

Looking at the team, is Hogan injured? Surely you'd start him again as he actually had a good game last time. Would be interested how him and Davis would look as a partnership.

So we’ve gone from the highs of Bristol City back down to the big standard shit Bruce has been known to serve up. And he wonders why we might get fucked off with him. And as much as KD scores today it all started with playing him up front on his own at home to Peterborough. So much of sports is played in the mind and Bruce has this mental block that ensures he is always adopts a caution first approach.

The scoreline is absolutely indicative of that.

like most of the season even with the first teamers

That's true mate, and although it was nice to see us batter Bristol City, it did reek of being an absolute one off.

From about the 10 minute mark until the final whistle of the Sheff Utd game, I was bored rigid by our lack of movement and ball control, the backwards passes and lack of zip to our game.

Bruce teams tend to play like that. I long for the day he vanishes from our club.
