Pulisboro vs Bruce's Villa
Jack dropped, Snodgrass inevitably keeps his spot.
-
But the subs bench is more interesting
-
The good news, Whelan nowhere to be seen
-
Play it on the fucking deck.
-
We need a win so he’s put our most creative player on the bench. Pathetic.
-
Are Glenn and Gabby and Keinan and Neil all injured or rested?
-
Picks a side that looks more like it HAS to play football. Leaves out Grealish, our best "footballer".
The bloke is a walking contradiction at times.
Rumour is Whelan and Davis are out with illness but would likely have played were they well.
-
That bench is sexy.
-
The good news, Whelan nowhere to be seen
Saving the old man for Monday
-
Where's Taylor?
-
Grealish on the bench - FFS!
-
Where's Taylor?
We looked better with Hutton at LB.
-
How far off is JT from being fit?
Id like to think that that team should be good enough with an exciting looking bench.
-
Where's Taylor?
We looked better with Hutton at LB.
Agreed. Hutton at left back was one of our best performers. Almost like he was better suited to being on the wrong foot the great donkey. Worked for Dennis Irwin for years I guess. Taylor is most likely out ill with Davis and Whelan.
-
We need a win so he’s put our most creative player on the bench. Pathetic.
Our most creative player has created f**k all in the last three games.
-
We need a win so he’s put our most creative player on the bench. Pathetic.
Mental stuff, strong looking team mind. Hourihane hopefully playing a lot further forward today.
De Laet, Terry, Samba, Taylor, Lansbury, Whelan, Kodjia, Davis, Green, Flabby all unavailable ?
-
Wibble.
-
The thread title will probably be the highlight of this afternoon.
-
Can only think he reckons Jack needs a rest, will surely come on sometime. Good to see the 4 kids on the bench, particularly RHM.

Terry, Samba, Lansbury, Kodjia, Green and Gabby are all ruled out or returning to fitness. Not sure about the others.

First hat trick since Blackburn for Gestede?
-
Snodgrass picks himself again! Another easy game for the opposition left back
-
Bruce on WM - Davis and Whelan out with illness. Then says something about whether we can cope without our best players - we will see in about 2 hours. Fucking bollocks Steve.
No doubt Onomah will be playing up front and Hourihane in some odd deep role. We have more than enough to cope, but we will be sent out in a 4-4-2 and play long ball no doubt.
Pulis seemed to have picked 4 strikers which will be fun.
-
Gestede scores and loads of posts saying Bruce should never have sold him will follow.
-
Gestede scores and loads of posts saying Bruce should never have sold him will follow.
If Gestede scores it will be just that very quickly Pulis will have found a way to use him at this level. Something he's done very well in the past. Something that he's failed to do with Hogan despite having purchased him for a lot of money.
-
Gestede twice, with an Adama 3rd late on just to ice the cake. All 3 made by Downing. Written in the stars. But at least Steve has got the excuses in before kick off by talking about "coping".
-
Is this game on the wireless?
-

Drives me fucking insane. Coping is when you have next to no money like Brentford or Cardiff. Two teams that have embarrassed us this season. Excuses are most certainly laid out already.
-
This would be one of the extremely rare occasions I would agree with everyone that Grealish should play, he did pretty well last game and I would certainly have started him ahead of the two loanees.
What's happening with Whelan? I wouldn't disregard him like some have on here but a break would make sense since he hasn't had much of one and his form has dipped recently.
-

Shame he didn't have a clue how to use Rondon after spending £14m on him.
-
Since Bruce will have had ample time to ensure the team play possession-based, intelligent football (with plenty vim & vigour) this afternoon, I'm looking forward to us not resorting to hopeless punts up-field towards a stranded Hogan. Yes sir.
-
A Steve Boof team doesn't just bang it forwards, he said so himself. Let's see this afternoon.
-
Is this game on the wireless?
It'll be on WM
-
Listening on Radio Tees to the build up. The Smogmonsters don't seem that confident.
-

Give it twenty minutes.

Make it ten....
-
Dont think he's played for a week so i'd have o'hare in for Onumah and tell hourihane to play 1/2 way line and forward. He drops back next to Jedinak too easily and is turning into the new crab.
Still expect both midfields to get neck ache watching the ball fly over their heads tho'! ;D

Yes at PL level. We’ve had our fair share of absolute big money failures in that league too. And £14m nowadays gets you 1/5 of central defender.
-
If Jack was in for Slowgrass, I'd be quite happy with that team.
-
I really struggle understanding how Snodgrass keeps getting picked
-
Is this game on the wireless?
It'll be on WM
Got it - thanks!
-
Hate the Black kit
-
I strongly suspect that Snodgrass and Onomah have at least an understanding that they will play when fit. It's part of why we are struggling, I believe.
-
I really struggle understanding how Snodgrass keeps getting picked
His ability from free kicks
-
Hate the Black kit
Racist.
-
Well this is looking promising. Not.
-
11 minutes;
Possession Home 61% Away 39%
Shots Home 1 Away 0
-
Derby winning
-
Boro with more possession but you would expect that with them at home. Only concern so far is giving the ball away cheaply again
-
Pulisball v Bruceball what a holiday treat this should be.
1-0 Gestede 89. Cattermole to go off crying.
-
Leadbitter has put the smack down on Albert. A reducer, if you will.
-
Disgraceful challenge by Leadbitter on Onomah there. Leading with his elbow.
-
Pulisball v Bruceball what a holiday treat this should be.
1-0 Gestede 89. Cattermole to go off crying.
It's a dream for every neutral fan on the planet
-
Looked a bit of a nasty one on Josh.
-
Fuck off Snodgrass. What a waste.
-
That was a red card. Typical Pulis tactic.
-
At least we had a shot
-
Why do we let Snodgrass take free kicks?
-
For those watching, can you tell us if we look more fired up than in midweek?
Are we showing the promised increased effort, quality and desire?
-
This game is hooftastic so far.
-
Considering we are without Whelan we are holding up well here.
-
For those watching, can you tell us if we look more fired up than in midweek?
Are we showing the promised increased effort, quality and desire?
No discernible change.
-
Boro hanging back if you ask me, typical Pulis, but do we have the nous to go for it?
-
For those watching, can you tell us if we look more fired up than in midweek?
Are we showing the promised increased effort, quality and desire?
It’s boring
LOL Pulis already using the long ball from a throw in to Gestede. Who then nearly scored LOL
-
Jeeze, we pass the ball a dozen times in our own half and lose it as soon as we play it forward.
-
We're doing ok. Looking for new and exciting ways to give the ball away in the absence of the master.
-
For those watching, can you tell us if we look more fired up than in midweek?
Are we showing the promised increased effort, quality and desire?
Yes, yes, no and yes.
-
JustHead with a dangerous flick on.
-

Not guilty on all counts m'lud.
-
how are folk watching this, is it on Kodi? Thanks
-
I’m really struggling to understand what hogan offers. Never seems to show for the ball or hold it up. It could be he is making runs behind and I can’t see it on the box but to me it looks like he is hiding all the time
-
After 20 minutes I have zero doubt i'd prefer to end up in the Conference than watch the shit Pulis serves up every week.
-
how are folk watching this, is it on Kodi? Thanks
AVTV
-

Someone filming AVTV.
-

What Bruce is serving up is every bit as bad. We’ve barely touched the ball in the last 5 min. You just know their goal is coming
-
We are fucking all over the place from their long throws. From both sides.
-

If the midfielders ever slid the ball past the opponents’ central defenders, we might find out.
-

It's far too often shit under Bruce, but it's not Pulis shit.
-
A genuine shot on goal from Adomah.
-
Woooo a shot.
-
We are fucking all over the place from their long throws. From both sides.
And corners
-
We're doing our best to help them score. If we win this, I'll dress up as Shirley Temple and wrestle a silverback at Dudley Zoo.
-
I'd rather see O'Hare then Grealish to be honest. All Grealish seems to do is run into defenders for a free kick, which Snodgrass then inevitably wastes.
-
We are fucking all over the place from their long throws. From both sides.
They've got the towels working overtime. Ball tampering. The umpires should intervene.
-
After 20 minutes I have zero doubt i'd prefer to end up in the Conference than watch the shit Pulis serves up every week.
In terms of entertainment I can’t see the difference between Bruce and Pullis except the long throw routine.
-
Onomah joining Hourihane in the book.
-
I reckon there'll be a red card or two today.
-

There’s levels of shitness and both compete with each other but pulisball is slightly shitter.
-

I'm not sure O'Hare will do any better with Bruce. Footballers don't tend to flourish under him.
-
Onomah joining Hourihane in the book.
Increasing the chances of Callum and Jack coming on after 60 minutes.
-
"Villa haven't won here since 2007, although this is only the second visit since then" bring back captain Jack!
-
You can tell how crap the game is the first report on the game came after 27 minutes on sky.
-
Jedinak doesn't possess a pair of legs. I'm sure they are giant speciality sausages.
-
4 crosses from Albert so far and all shit
-
our passing is shocking at times
-
Good job that shot was straight at Johnstone.
-
Brentford are one up and right behind Villa in the table. Xia should gamble and bring in Smith for Bruce now, for a play-off push / automatic place next season.
-
Nice from Hutton, wasted by Albert and they go straight down the other end and have a chance.
-
Jack coming on for Onomah
-
Albert not having his best game today, but Hutton is playing very well.
-
Looks like Josh is off for Jack.
-
Grealish coming on for Onomah. Presumably still feeling the effects of the assault by Leadbitter.
-
Freakish that’s very apt.
-
Albert not having his best game today, but Hutton is playing very well.
Hutton at LB looks much better than Taylor
-
Another poor set piece from Snodgrass
-
Hourihane had the best forward pass completion in the league at Barnsley.
Bruce just needs to go.
-
Snodgrass is useless.
-
Albert not having his best game today, but Hutton is playing very well.
Hutton at LB looks much better than Taylor
Taylor's positional play is pretty shite
-
Albert has been pretty crap so far as well.
-
He’s probably still injured.
-
Albert has been pretty crap so far as well.
That kick in the bollocks a few days ago must still smart
-
Albert has been pretty crap so far as well.
As soon as his goals ran out the teams has. We look so blunt, careless and lifeless in the final third.
-
The highlight of the game is the hexadecimal that keeps popping up on the screen. I'm playing guess where it will show up next, way better than the game.
-
Hogan, 0 goals in his last 25 league appearances. It's almost impressive to do that as a striker.
-
The highlight of the game is the hexadecimal that keeps popping up on the screen. I'm playing guess where it will show up next, way better than the game.
LOL I’ve noticed that too. Thought it was my eyes. I’m going for bottom right next time.
-
Elmohamady's balls are no better than Alberts at the moment.
-
My phone is now refusing to stream. Presumably to protect my eyes from the eye bleedingly awful turgid shite being served up.
-
Albert has been pretty crap so far as well.
That kick in the bollocks a few days ago must still smart
Yes. That kick in the wedding tackle has reduced his efficiency. Curiously, Brucey said it was a dead leg injury.
-
Hogan, 0 goals in his last 25 league appearances. It's almost impressive to do that as a striker.
And he doesn’t look close to getting one today. Our shots on target per game must be amongst the worst in the 4 divisions.
-
Boro already look organised under Pulis, we are struggling to find space
-
Hutton crocked
-
Both teams deserve to lose. Horrible football.
-
Hutton crocked
A measure of how far we have fallen when this genuinely worsens the team in attack and defence
-
Nice bit of skill from Rudy there 😳
-
A tramp's boot full of vomit.
-
It’s a Bruce team playing to the Bruce system.
-
Bruce in conversation with Calderwood. “What are you doing for New Year’s Eve?” “Considering a career change to paint drying.”
-
feck me we are dull
-
And now Elphick booked.
-
HT well that was rather dull. Best chances all went to Boro. We look dreadful and lacking any kind of creativity.
-
Dismal bilge.
-
If Hogan wants to do something useful, I've got a load of rubbish to take to the tip, and my car needs washing.
-
Don’t think we did too bad that half, but there is nothing up front
-
That was fucking woeful.
-
Sounds dismal again, fucking fire him.
-
Pulis v Bruce - 0 - 0 all over it.
-
half-time...and to other more exciting news, grass is green.
-
HT well that was rather dull. Best chances all went to Boro. We look dreadful and lacking any kind of creativity.
Have to give Bruce his due, he's consistent every week
-
Dismal bilge.
[/quote
As accurate as succinct
-
every single week all of us can copy and paste the same comments. shit, boring, slow football team. snodgrass is a lazy useless fecker.
-
A truly hideous first half to watch.
-
We need to put the fix in. Grease their towels.
-
HT well that was rather dull. Best chances all went to Boro. We look dreadful and lacking any kind of creativity.
Have to give Bruce his due, he's consistent every week
Is this the Villa Engine plan, no tactics or plan through all levels. Bruce Out.
-
Dreadful...we have completely lost our way at the moment. No drive from midfield and nothing to aim for upfront.
-
Comfortable enough, but dismal viewing. Their bloke’s long throw could be a danger.
-
Hogan, 0 goals in his last 25 league appearances. It's almost impressive to do that as a striker.
We should partner him with Shane Long.
-
both teams rubbish thou Downing shows how to actually pass a ball
hutton is better than Taylor
adomahs final ball is rubbish when he shot he should have played snodcrap in ..yes snodgrass has been dire again
as Hogan had a pass from anybody?
its still the boring slow football from Bruce .Id like to see two youngsters on at HT but that wont happen
-
If Hogan wants to do something useful, I've got a load of rubbish to take to the tip, and my car needs washing.
He would just drive for miles hoping to find the tip by chance and then stop cleaning the car partway through, moving absent-mindedly to the part of the driveway with no car and no bucket n sponge.
-

I don't get it though - he was doing brilliantly for Brentford. How did we manage to Villa him?
-
Absolute shite.
-
Dreadful...we have completely lost our way at the moment. No drive from midfield and nothing to aim for upfront.
Not just at the moment, for several weeks, and seems likely to continue with our current management and coaching.
How long before the venerable Tony sees the light?
-
I feel really guilty as I'm almost at the point where I wouldn't be bothered if we lost if it got rid of Bruce.
-
Un-Bruce us, Tony. Do it tonight.
-
if he was going to play whelan today he needs sacking for that
-
half-time...and to other more exciting news, grass is green.
Snotgrass

It's very obvious we have zero attacking strategy.
-
give Bruce his due he has bought that stability that people said we needed
we are exactly the same every week now
-

Jota used to slide the ball past central defenders and Hogan would meet it to score. Like buying a sports car and then using it for Tesco and school runs, Villa must have been wowed by the performance stats, without realising Hogan needs fuel and a skilled navigator and driver.
-
It looks like we're playing with eight. Not because we're being overwhelmed, just because we have no idea what to do with a football.
-

Like several others we signed who looked good signings until they arrived at VP and fell under the spell of B6 management and coaching
-
It's a bit like watching The Archers. Lots of anonymous characters going through the motions with no hint of drama whatsoever.
-
May as well throw on O’Hare and RHM and either win or go down fighting. No risk. No reward.
-
At least we're consistent. Week in. Week out.

yeah and its great for getting me to drop off sleeping

Saido Berahinio (sp?) 0 in 36.

But you're not the man who gets to make that decision, Steve "no risk, no failure" Bruce is.

Well he's currently 'no risk all failure'
-
This game is making me miss Westwood.

If there's one thing you can be sure of with Bruce, it's that there'll be no risk taking whilst the scoreboard says Middlesbrough 0.
-
Derby going 2nd?
-
Snodgrass wastes yet another set piece.
-
Fucking Snodgrass again. Garbage player.
-
Shodpass.
-
Cockpiss Snodgrass
-
Derby going 2nd?
Yep
-
I can almost guarantee that they won't be as tepid in the second half.Gestede will either score or be hooked off 15 minutes in,and their changes will impact the game.
We still look extremely tentative in the things that really matter, attacking and anticipation in either box.
Snodgrass has the gait of a middle aged former scrum half.
Elhamandy might be the one whom actually delivers today...Come on me Babbies
-

Looks remarkably like him..
-
If we're all dead set on appointing a Villa fan as manager, then Rowett would fit the bill nicely. Can't see what the fuss is about with Smith, in all honesty.
-
Good effort from Jack.
-
grealish close
-
Good effort by Jack
-
Good shot from Grealish.
-
Is it just me or is the AVTV commentary just marginally ahead of the broadcast?
-
Adama coming on.
-
Traore coming on soon
-
adama coming on
-
Cornality
Inevitability comes to nothing at all
-
Gotta fancy Adama against our pacy defenders. What odds an Adama cross to Rudy for the winner?
-
Hutton returning the ball to Hourihane for the corner is the best pass of the game.
-
Is it just me or is the AVTV commentary just marginally ahead of the broadcast?
Same here.
-
On the plus side only about half an hour of this shite to go.
-

Same here.
And starting to freeze also
-
On the plus side only about half an hour of this shite to go.
Hopefully the last with Bruce at the helm
-
Jack looking dangerous. Shame everyone else is crap.
-
weak shot from snodgrass
-
Shit shot by Hourihane. Had he been wearing a Barnsley top it would have burst the net.
Edit: Maybe it was Snodgrass. Replace Barnsley with Hull
-
Traore bursts through the middle. Chester gets booked
-
Grealish muscled off the ball by Downing sums us up.
-
chester takes out adama after adama beat 24 players
-
Who's getting sent off, then? I'll go for Elphick.
-
Who's getting sent off, then? I'll go for Elphick.
Chester on the basis that it will hurt us more.
-
Grealish muscled off the ball by Downing sums us up.
You been drinking the sherry leftovers? Refuse to believe this.
-
Traore has given them a little inspiration
-
Commentator just said it wouldn’t be a bad point “under the circumstances”. I’m wondering what those are? He then adds it would of course be no wins in 6.
Ah yes, those circumstances. It would be a fantastic chest pumping point.
-
Please make it end.
-
That was funny, Snodgrass gets injured and neither of the physios move on the bench to come help him, they're so used to him diving !
-
Just Head off
-
Well at least Gestede won't be haunting us today. Off for Bamford.
-
Bamford will score.
-
Commentator just said it wouldn’t be a bad point “under the circumstances”. I’m wondering what those are? He then adds it would of course be no wins in 6.
Ah yes, those circumstances. It would be a fantastic chest pumping point.
Probably an oblique barb at the manager and his style of football
-
LOL Hutton with a good run then he just blasts his pass into the chest of one of our players (Hogan maybe).
-
Grealish muscled off the ball by Downing sums us up.
You been drinking the sherry leftovers? Refuse to believe this.
Yep our great hope done for strength and desire by hamster bollocks himself.
-
Can't see us scoring
-
20 to go and Bruce still waiting to make a change to try and win the game.
-
Can't see us scoring
You never know, 'boro might gift us an own goal
-
Traore causing chaos every time he gets it with his pace, but inevitability with him nothing at the end. He’s everything you want and don’t want in a winger.
-
We're going to get our trousers pulled down and our bottoms smacked in front of the whole class, in a minute.
-
Hogan on his own now. That'll do it
-
Commentator just said it wouldn’t be a bad point “under the circumstances”. I’m wondering what those are? He then adds it would of course be no wins in 6.
Ah yes, those circumstances. It would be a fantastic chest pumping point.
Heard that, the circumstances are that we are 8th.
Prat.
-
20 to go and Bruce still waiting to make a change to try and win the game.
He’s got no desire to win this. None whatsoever.
-
Gotta love the hoofs forward towards Hogan, after nearly a year you'd think they'd realise that doesn't work.
-
20 to go and Bruce still waiting to make a change to try and win the game. respect the point.
Fixed.
-
RHM on.
-
Hogan off for RHM.
-
Gotta love the hoofs forward towards Hogan, after nearly a year you'd think they'd realise that doesn't work.
Don’t worry Hogan coming off. The same strategy will now be used for RHM
-
I've had tagnuts with more purpose than Hogan.
-
Hogan off.
-
Goooooaaaaaaalllllll!!!!!
-
Oh my word!
-
Snodgrass 1-0
-
rHM coming on for hogan but what difference wil it make with hoofball. Agereo would be no good in this team
-
