Yep Merchants of Sadness, Deliverers of Depression, Trojans of Tears, Bringers of Boredom, Carnival of Crap...

2-0 Barnsley

Bruce says don't panic, nothing to see here. In the background season is ablaze and out of control.

Barnsley's always a tough place to go. There are no easy games in this league. We need to show we're getting better, which we are. We're not hitting the target. It was cold today. We've got a few injuries, Kodj and Jedi aren't up to scratch yet. It'll come though. We'll get there. Don't be so hysterical.

Apart from scoring ( the important thing in football ) I thought we played well last night, polar opposite to Brentford. I've gone for another draw but if they put in the same performance from last night the ball has to go in at some point so I'm really hoping for a win.

I don't care about the managers anymore....just win.

Agbonlahor to score the only goal and do that gormless thing where he cups his ears and then puts his finger over his mouth before taking to whatever social media platform he uses to claim that goal was for the #haterz. Steve Bruce will then eulogise about the useless lump of lard in his post match interview and reward him with a new five year contract.

As a teenager me and another kid went to the back of the Holte and were told in no uncertain terms to fuck off, I think the other kid got spat at, and we're as white as the driven snow. It was a bit like the football stadium equivalent of the slaughtered lamb in American Warewolf, it was a kind of 'your not from round here' tone. Considering there were about half a dozen and they looked liked they'd broken out of a young offenders institute we duly fucked off further down the Holte.

What really angered me was as we moved because she was so upset realized a steward had seen the whole thing and did nothing about it, got in touch with the club who apologised and promised to investigate, never heard back from them, it was the last year of terracing on the Holte End.

It was an isolated incident and doesn't mean Villa supporters are racist. They aren't, just like Leeds, Barnsley, Sheff Wednesday etc aren't.

Ridiculous. Absolutely pathetic too.

I took a friend of mine to see Chelsea v Villa a few years ago and had to sort a Villa supporting lad in front of us out who was calling players 'black bastards' etc. My friend, who is Indian, was not quite sure what to say.

So, does that make you a racist twat too?

We were asked to stop it, but seeing as so much stock is being put into this by the cloth cap dwelling fraternity when I think of Barnsley, in my minds eye I think of racist twats.

I don't think of fancy football or marbled streets or any more culture than you'd find in your average Muller yoghurt. I think of dead beat racists making monkey chants. Are they all racist? I doubt it.

The same way as when I think of Sheffield Wednesday, i no longer think of them as a classier bunch, I think of a load of blokes singing about Pakis at 5 to 3 in a Birmingham suburb in 2017.

If it makes your delicate northern sensibilities any better, I cannot think of Spurs and what massive wankers they are without the Villa and likely Brummie c*** bags making gassing noises, the shower of twats that they were and probably still are.

These are just the first thoughts that conjure in my mind when I think of other clubs, none of whom I like. Including ours.

How seriously you want to take it, and apparently it's quite a lot, is up to you.

I hope we bladder the monkey chanting cock ends.

We are hard to beat at least. Kodjia to grab a goal and we cling on to the bitter end to win 1-0
This, perhaps, is one of the saddest statements as to our predicament; "we are hard to beat at least".
In this division I long for the day when the statement is "so who are we beating today?"

in his press conference this morning he went with hysteria again, after a minute or 2 of talking about 7 points not being good enough and he doubled down on "if we took our chances we'd be fine" which I always take as a sign of a manager who knows he's fucked.  That's not to say it's wrong, scoring the chances you get is obviously a good habit, but it's always said as if there's nothing they can do in training or by changing tactics and it's just waiting for a bit of luck.  For me it's one of the clearest signs that a manager doesn't know how to fix the mess he's in.

I'd love to see Bruce go 'all in' this afternoon & stick Kod in the starting 11, but I've a feeling that he'll be on the bench & thrown on with 20 minutes left: as we chase a game that's effectively over. I can but live in hope.  :(

Kodj will play from the beginning. This result is all or nothing for Mr. Bruce so he will sacrifice all to delay the hangman's noose.

Well we'll find out soon enough...

1-4 Villa.

Then we do Forest, then we do Burton, then we do Bolton. Then the Barca of the Midlands. Then some twats. Then the inbreds.

It's 130 anniversary for Barnsley this week so there'll be an atmosphere to fight against. 'We have lots in store for Reds fans as we look to commemorate this momentous occasion, and we can now reveal that a host of former heroes will be attending the fixture as guests of Barnsley Football Club. '

130 years of being shit and small. Fuck these shit houses.

Surprise surprise the pub my brother mentioned on the Tickets and Travel Forum is absolutely rammed. Mostly with Barnsley fans. They obviously read H&V.

Can't be arsed to do the match thread given my record but it looks 4-4-2 with Whelan back in, Adomah and Kodjia starting.

4-4-2, Elmo at right back. I guess he thinks this is the bold thing to do.

He played o.k on Tuesday. I dislike playing him in one of the advanced forward positions. Wouldn't be against him having a run at RB.

Even with Elmo in there that team should smash Barnsley today.

4-0 Villa

the bold thing to do would be to wear a sandwich board reading 'CHARLATAN' in the dugout
