I see that a link to an article in the Sun has been put up on the H&V facebook page. Can it not be made site policy to not allow links to the Sun here or on any of our social media pages?
-
I'm not the biggest fan of the S*n either, but it's an article about John Terry which I found mildly amusing and shared because I could not find it elsewhere. I will remove it if wished.
-
Article is in the Brum Mail as well.
-
Can't stand that site either. Anyway, I've sorted it now.
-
Thanks. There are many newspapers I don't like but for obvious reasons the Sun should be boycotted

Absolutely.
-
Not aware that the Sun has done anything against Villa
-
Some things are bigger than club rivalries
-

What Ger said, plus their appalling treatment of Sir Graham, even after he died.
-
Not aware that the Sun has done anything against Villa
Turnip ring any bells?
-
Every football fan should boycott the sun
-
I have the same problem with people sending me links to the Daily Mail. I don't want to honour that rag with even a single click - mainly because of its sidebar. People at work still send them with alarming regularity which, considering the Mail's attitude to who I work for, really gets on my tits.
I agree on The Sun by the way. I think Liverpool's boycott is one of the great social movements of recent times and happy to support it.
-

If it had been Villa fans at Hillsborough, that disgusting rag would have been exactly the same as it was with Liverpool fans.
Doing that, they've done something against every club.
Not to mention common human decency.
Fuck that disgusting rag.

Just wanted to point out there's a double negative in the second sentence
-
Every football fan should boycott the sun
Every person with more brain cells than fingers should boycott The Sun.
-
Even when I was recently in the barbers waiting my turn, I didn't soil my fingers by picking that rag up, I may now even change where I have my hair cut
-
Every football fan should boycott the sun
Every decent person should boycott that rag n vermin be just football fans
-
For football coverage, although they can't compare with the more serious papers they are the best of the rest.
-
Agree with all before me.
And they've done away with the tits.
-

Yes, their tribute to Graham Taylor was particularly classy.
-
Some things are bigger than club rivalries
Well said.
-
Even if they were to reanimate Hunter Thompson and give him the editor's gig, never buy (or read) The S*n.
-
Not aware that the Sun has done anything against Villa
Was going to respond but hopefully you've got the message by now.
-
I can't see why any football fan would buy The S*n, to be honest. Surely everyone knows how to find pictures of tits on the internet by now, anyway?
-
I have never paid money for that rag and wont. Bloke at work buys it every day, strange but it takes all sorts, he is a b-looser!
-
As long as you don't buy that rag called the Mirror, you are ok by me!
-
History will show that Murdoch treated society in exactly the same way that he treated football. The Sun is not alone in its lack of morality. The Daily Mail (supreme court judges are the enemies of the people) has been mentioned. I would add the disgusting Daily Express who this morning run a front page arse lick of the Duke of Edinburgh who called it "a bloody awful newspaper". The headline reads "Thank You Sir".
-
As long as you don't buy that rag called the Mirror, you are ok by me!
Good point, same here. I enjoy The Granma's football podcast but refuse to contribute a penny to that rag despite their "whilst you're here" online begging. We're a diverse group here so it'd be a shame if some papers' stories were censored.
-
I hereby swear to never buy the scum or the mirror ever again.
-
For the sake of balance the Mirror and Herald (the Sun as was) were bloody good newspapers in the olden days. Maxwell and Murdoch were the principal terminators.
-
I'd much rather buy the Mirror than the s*n.
-
From a football point of view I buy The Sun in the week and The People on a Sunday. I have tried the 'posh papers' and hurt my back carrying all the gardening/lifestyle/arts supplements.

Don't buy the Sun. We'll club together and buy you a granny trolley to help your back.

You know full well why the Sun isn't welcome here so stop pretending it's for some political reason
-
A guy at our place reads the S*N and he`s as nasty and arrogant as their Editor and hacks. In fact we call him thrush. Leave you to work that out
-
He has spots on his chest?
-
Does he hate UNCLE?
-
Does he shit on cars?
-
Does he whistle a lot?
-
I assume its the Hillsborough thing but I dont understand why it isnt stated so we're all clear on the reason.
-
Because the publication in question mocked and humiliated SGT without mercy.
-

And still hasn't apologised. And Hillsborough. And they still haven't apologised. And....
-
I don't buy a daily ever, but if I see a Sun lying around at work, as well as any rag, I always have a quick look through, Is that wrong?
And no matter how the footballing world feels on the matter, it still has a big influence on Britain today.
Sad but true.
-
I don't understand how any football fan who is aware of Hillsborough can read or buy the rag.
-

That may or may not be true, but we can at least avoid increasing their circulation by providing them with free advertising in the form of links.
-
I can't stand the thing, ditto Daily Mail.
-
As some unknown hero at the Hackney Empire in the aftermath of the General Election said to his face "Fuck off Murdoch we are the majority now". And we are. We who communicate via the electronic media and are not in thrall to press barons of any political colour or extremity.
-
Brian, he may have spots somewhere and I understand the treatment is natural yogurt to smear on it!
-
Best applied pipe with one of the battery operated devices sold in great numbers by Ms Brady before she was enobled.
-
In the profound words of Cockney wideboy beat combo Chad and Dave, they've got more Rabbit than Saintsbury's.
-
In the profound words of Blackadder (goes forth) - its soft, strong and thoroughly absorbent.
Since Hillsborough, I've never touched that rag.
