Title: Online tickets
Post by: Scratchins on July 12, 2017, 08:37:16 AM
The new site is now up and running. Graham Taylor match on sale but not league/cup games yet.

Is the Shrewsbury game sold out (Villa end)? It does not seem possible to buy tickets online. On the phone, it's half an hour wait. I've no way of coming to Villa Park. Perhaps I've been away too long (12 years in Holland), but selling tickets online isn't complicated. Villa and / or Shrewsbury seem to be trying to make it as hard as possible for people to go.

Unimpressive so far.

Log in with client reference rather than username for site. Ask for s password reset, Gmail bins it in spam because the club have not whitelisted the address it is sent from.

Gmail kills the reset link - thinking the mail is not kosher.

Fish the link from the source and stick it in browser manually, get 'bad request' error.

Mail helpfully says your new password must be 'at least 0 characters long'.

This is not good. First of all the ticket sales are totally down, now the new system doesn't work.

All I want to do is buy some fucking tickets.

I looked on the OS and online for dutchvilla but there is no mention of Shrewsbury.

I'd email someone at the club with the problem, Paulie... as you seem to have more technical knowledge than me.

You'd imagine they'd have some IT experts in the office for at least the first few days after installing a new software system, so they may appreciate the feedback and be able to act on it.

Not sure who, now that Nicky Keye has left, though.

Shrewsbury details below, though when you click on the online box office, it says they are unavailable.

You may just have to phone and wait in the queue, sorry.

Thanks all.

I've managed to get some over the phone finally, after a fairly torturous call of nearly 35 minutes. Villa are not covering themselves in glory with this, but hopefully it is just teething problems.

I just got sorted after waiting just under 15 minutes. They've still got Shrewsbury on sale.

I found the confirmation e-mail in my spam folder should you not be able to locate yours.

Yep, similar issues for me.  Trying to sign my lad up for the Summer Soccer School which starts on Saturday - wanted to do it last week but they closed the ticket office without notice.  Now log in and there's nothing there (they were available online before) and ring up only to be greeted with a message that there's a 30 minute waiting time.

Shambles is the word that springs to mind.

What was wrong with the old system?

It was owned by Ticketmaster.  The new one isn't.

There's now a queue to get on to the ticketing website!!!

I'm guessing the main driver for getting rid of Ticketmaster was cost!!!

Looks like this is just for buying from the club.

Any news on a resale site for ST holders?

EDIT - Seatwave still seems to be active

Logged on but the only game available at home is the Watford game. Can't believe no league games available yet. It doesn't have any of my  ticket history from last season but it does remember me.

I would have thought at least the first home and away games would be on sale by now. You can see your booking history by clicking on your name then personal details then history.

It's shocking - again how much has this cost the Villa to set up?  You would have thought thinks like the sell on agency etc would all have been  sorted and advertised accordingly.

I still can't log in.  Before I contact the club and make a fool of myself is it me or is there a problem with changing passwords on there?

Morning all- don't know if this of help..login to ticket page using the Client ref and lowercase post code. In OK.

Unable to progress past select tickets - highlighting section B1 shows available seats and that's as far as can go.  Could be I am using IPad

Signed in again this time using my Client Ref and original Password, seems as though the default lowercase password is a reset.
Now waiting for phone lines to be free.

The young lady in the TO advises that It's a problem with IPad users, happened on the "old" ticket master system as well. So be aware.

Managed to activate my old client reference/fan ID and create a password for the new site no problems.

Surprised to see Hull not on sale yet with it only being 3 weeks away. Also surprised to see them asking for my marital status, is the new site doubling up as an online dating?!

Also managed to log in and activate my old reference.

Had an issue with selecting my seat for the Watford game using my laptop.

Though managed to select my seat within seconds of logging on through my I phone.

Still no tickets for upcoming league games yet. If the attendances are down first few games the club only has itself to blame. The longer it goes the more expensive the train tickets will be. Argghhhhh!

I notice the ticket reselling site isn't working either.  I can't make the first home game and was hoping to resell my season ticket but it's looking increasingly likely it'll go to waste.

What a way to execute the transition to a new ticketing provider Villa!

Anybody else think it's odd that when you select a seat, the light blue ones are avaialble and the claret ones are the ones that aren't available. I would have thought it would be the other way around. Or is it just me?

The Welsh press said Cardiff are willing to give us 5,000. We should have some idea whether we are willing to take them up. I'll phone them on lunch, can't hurt, like you say.

I am trying to get colchester tickets before I leave tomorrow for Germany then Spain. I meet the criteria as Away scheme member x3 of us but I cant seem to log-in on my saved one from previous years. Is there some kind of secret handshake or something I need.

I was at the ticket office early afternoon and they would not let me buy them as only online from 5pm....
Title: Re: Online tickets

Dominic, on the online page the box top left says that the new log in is your client ref (now Fan ID) and the password is set as your postcode - no space, lower case. Have you tried this? Once in you can reset your password.
Title: Re: Online tickets
Post by: Dominic22 on July 21, 2017, 08:19:05 PM
Thanks. I cant seem to get it to work it is either busy or something wrong as it will not let me get to a log in or new password page just the continual turning wheel.

How on earth do the club plan on getting revenue when I cant buy anything. I had to buy villa shirts (presents) from a shop in Sutton that the club sent me to today as they had none to sell.

It's a right balls up. A few days ago I had to log in using my ref number as email address was connected to more than one account, which I assume is initial and full first name. I also had to do a password reset. And now I can only log in using email and it shows no booking history on the account. If I use my client ref it won't let me in.

Post by: PeterWithesShin on July 21, 2017, 11:54:30 PM
Well I just went onto the tickets available page and i'm already logged in. On my client ref. Not at all confusing! So to buy tickets it seems I use my client ref to log in, for the rest of the OS I have to use my email address. And it is first initial with email and full first name with client ref.

On this page, i'm not logged in, it tells me to login/register. https://www.avfc.co.uk/season-tickets-and-hospitality/season-tickets-introduction

If I do nothing but go straight to this page then I become logged in https://tickets.avfc.co.uk/en-GB/categories/Home%20Tickets

Confused? You will be.

....however, when I log in and navigate to the Away Games section there's nothing listed.

Has anyone bought their Colchester ticket online ?

EDIT - Although the Colchester travel is showing

Even if I don't have enough aways to meet the first Colchester selling criteria (I might be one short), I'd expect the game to still be listed (as it has in the past)

All a bit strange

The reseller page is now finally working for the Hull game.  So whilst you still can't buy tickets from the club you can buy them through a 3rd party ticketing agent.  It may well benefit me as I can finally try to sell my ticket but it's another example of what a complete balls-up it is by the club and will now start to cost the club even more money.

Ah forgot about that. I did think with us flogging a good amount of season tickets it might actually be open full time this season to give people more choice given they'll be very limited seating in the Holte so you have 2 and a half other stands to choose from.

Hull will be over 35k then, first game so still good optimism, a potential promotion rival and yes our friend John Terry will probably have flogged a few extra tickets.

Got the history to work... it only works in desktop, seemingly.

Worryingly it only lists all of this year's home games in the league, which are covered by my season ticket, plus the Watford friendly on my history.

None of my aways from last year are on there. Under our "Season Tickets" it only lists this year and last year. Mine go back to the nineties and my dad's go back to the seventies.

I was still friends with my brother, my dad, my ex-girlfriend and somebody I've never met who shares my surname.

I'm no longer friends with Joe. I assume he must have fallen out with me since I mentioned that a Tory MP liked HMHB.

At least Aways for which I don't yet meet the buying criteria no longer disappear when I sign in. They're now listed but with a disabled 'Buy' button.

With regard to 'History', all my Aways for the last two seasons are listed

I'm sure that the charge must have been quoted during the checkout process and I just didn't spot it.

However, not showing extra fees on the confirmation email is a bit off.

At least its only £1 this year rather than the previous £2 charged

Let's be honest the ticketing situation is a complete shambles.
Just got back from Sir Graham's match and still
no season ticket. They've had my money in full since March.
Still no way of checking my history online.
Phone line with waits of over half an hour or more.
Away scheme members unable to check if tickets have been allocated to them. Some bloke told me today that when he got through after 45 minutes they told him they had no way of checking if he was in the scheme?!!! Then asked if he'd paid the £25, he said he had and they replied "Well you're in it then!!"
The Villa need to sort the ticket farce out sharpish as it's beyond embarrassing now.

I suppose to an extent they're damned if they do, damned if they don't.

If they put tickets on sale before Sky have decided which set of fans they're going to shaft the club run the risk of lots of grumpy fans who booked travel arrangements on the wrong timings.

If they hold off until Sky have done their thing they gets complaints that it's too short notice.

Maybe, but surely Bristol will be in the same boat when they come to Villa Park? It's better to come to some sort of mutual agreement to try to get the tickets on sale as early as possible.

I agree that it's worth waiting when there is a chance the game could be moved, but when it's been confirmed, best get them sale. Sky confirmed that this game would be moved weeks ago.

Still no ticket for Norwich which I booked about three weeks ago. Last season they usually turned up within a week. When I rang them last week I got an excuse that its normal at start of season and this year all the away games have meant home tickets slow to be dispatched. Bullshit. My Rotherham ticket, first home game of last season turned up in about three days. Shambles.

I don't think they exist any more. The only info I could find relates to season tickets (see link below). You only seem to be able to buy adult/junior combo season season tickets in the most expensive seats. It says "N/A" everywhere else.

https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2017/02/17/season-tickets-2017-18-announced

It looks like they've reduced pricing for youngsters across the board, though, so hopefully it wouldn't work out much worse for you.

It might be worth contacting the club to check.

Brentford and Middlesbrough tickets now on sale. Just booked Brentford. As for my confusion about where my seat was vs Norwich, I only just realised when you book a ticket they've rotated the plan of the stand compared to last season on the website so where I thought I was buying a seat near the front I was actually ordering a seat further back in the middle. However I liked that seat so much I've just ordered it again!
