Title: Pubs Open Pre Blues
Post by: mooretomas on April 20, 2017, 06:47:34 PM
Travelling from Ireland tomorrow for the game. Making a weekend of it with the lads. What time will the pubs be open on Sunday beside the ground?

8am... blimey I'd rather have bacon, eggs and nice cuppa tea.

Getting old maybe. I'd rather have a couple after the game to celebrate.

Beer pre-Small Heath games is much needed to calm the nerves down a bit. I'm nervous already, I hate and love playing them in equal measure.

I like a full English at weekends. When I go to see the family in Dublin I enjoy a full Irish. Doe s a full Scottish or full Welsh exist?

A full Scottish is obviously eating a multi-pack of fried mars bars washed down with Irn Bru.

Will the pubs round the ground be ticket only? I'm heading to brass house as it's open at 0800 and they do an ace chorizo hash.

Balls to that, no booze until 10!
Can somebody please recommend somewhere me and one mate can get a drink early before game.

Could have sworn it was 8am they were opening. Not that I'll be going before the match, but I thought they had signs up saying 8am when I was last there (the last midweek home game).

You're probably right. I just knew it was early doors. I'll still be in bed then.

Not Sure what the situation is on Sundays, but I know that the Square Peg aren't allowed to serve booze before 0900 in the week.  Before that it is hot drinks and cold soft drinks only.  I doubt it would be any earlier than that when they are allowed to serve, particularly as the nanny state would prefer alcohol-free footie anyway.

Holte Suite - good 30 minutes queuing to get in - didn't seem that full inside either!

I managed to walk straight in although I was there for about 9.50-ish but I was thinking the same. There was a few in there but not enough to make people wait in a queue for half hour.
