Title: The Christmas Thread 2016
Post by: Chipsticks on December 25, 2016, 09:20:11 AM
Merry Christmas all!

Let's use this thread as a sanctuary for awkward family encounters, drunken ramblings, and present rants.

Christmas is nearly over for me. A very quiet day with the kids and my newly born Grandchild coming round this afternoon.

Off to bed now, after catching up with family in the UK as i'm going away for a couple of days tomorrow.

Here's wishing you all a very Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas my online Villa family.

Nearly over here too and was the quietest we've ever had as daughter now lives in Canberra and Son works nights over Christmas and has a shift starting later. Mrs Ozvilla and me just lounged around all day watching Netflix.

Can't really even have a drink as we've calls to UK later so need to remain relatively compos mentis, from previous experience phoning in to my 96 year old Nan when I'm half cut has caused some communication issues.

Merry Christmas, everyone and a big seasonal thank you to all involved in the running, admin and moderating of the site. Hope it's a good one whenever you are and whoever you're with.

Now back to the shitstorm of plastic, paper, cardboard and frazzled kids. Plus an oversized shirt that I've promised to get fat enough to wear this coming year.

Well that brings back fantastic memories for this particular Witton Warrior - hammered on Christmas Eve belting this out all round Stourbridge until collapsing in a heap in the Crispin only to rouse at about 11:30 for a final rendition as they threw us out!

"and a Jimmy Rimmer as a goaleeeeeeeee..."

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas. There is a genuine feel good factor returning to the club and while we have work to do on he pitch you can sense the enjoyment again. Full house tomorrow, hopefully 3 points and again against Leeds and there will be lots of smiles all over the Villa world.

Best wishes to all of you and your famillies

I was very apprehensive about today as it's just me and the kids as I'm going through a separation and my partner had an early xmas day yesterday with them before heading off to her family in Wigan. Couldn't have gone better, my mum joined us, dinner was a huge success and the kids love their presents. They're happy so I'm happy, feels a bit strange though.

Happy xmas fellow H&V'ers.

Going through it myself as well Chris. I haven't looked forward to this Christmas much but I have tried to enjoy it for my girls. This will be their last with us as a family. Of course there will be others where we are all together. Anyway stay strong brother.

Same you you, tough isn't it? I've actually enjoyed the day as there isn't the stress of being around somebody who doesn't want to be with me, the kids have been great.

Hope 2017 brings happiness.

Well I've had a great day, great presents, lovely company, and the presents I've given received well. Happy family all currently doing happy things in different rooms prior to inflicting me with Articulate when I'm more sozzed than I've been in a long while.

The best to everyone (even the pillocks), but especially those facing troubled times. You know who you are, and it'll get better, honest.

Merry Christmas all, hope you have all had a great day.

Managed to prepare Christmas dinner in spite suffering from a rotten head cold, but at least that gave me a valid excuse to fall asleep on the sofa this afternoon.  Favourite present was a lovely bottle of rum from the dog (well, I bought and wrapped it, then got my son to write the label), plus three pairs of slippers and an executive shoe shine kit.

Just need three points tomorrow to top things off.

It gets better Chris...trust me. I've been there, bought the t-shirt, stepped out of the bubble and realised that it was for the best...for both of us. As for the rest of the Villa, enjoy the festivities. I've a feeling we're in for some memory days over the coming year (and all good). Merry Christmas to all.
