Is it just me or have they been utterly woeful since God was a lad?
When was the last time we won a game on Sky? We have two more coming up - Norwich and then QPR.
And why did Gestede take the penalty?
-
07/12/14?

It's like trying to remember great England performances...only a handful have happened in the last 30 years. I remember the 6-2 Everton game was amazing, but also was a shock because other live games of us at that time were often disappointing. Ones from that period I recall were defeats v Middlesbrough (Div 2 and Zenith DS Cup semi finals), a drab 0-0 v Man Utd, 1-4 v Leeds...
To me, it's always a shock when we win on TV so there must be something in it. Why else would I recall a 1-0 win at The Dell in 95-96? Other notable performances/games were 3-2 v Leeds in the cup, and the same score away at Everton.
-
We were by far and away the better side against Brighton and battered them for most of the second half.
-
Last win on Sky, Blues in the cup last September? Can't remember one since. That was a cup game, I have no idea when the last TV league win was?!
-
Have we won a league on TV since the 1-0 Chelsea game in March 2014?

Leeds, Wolves, Brentford are all on Sky aswell.
Tuesday 3rd March 2015 Villa 2-1 Albion. That's our last league win on TV that I can remember?
-
Ah well that's the play off hopes dashed then.
-
When we were in the Premier League, wasn't every game on TV?

Yes, but I think he means on SKY Sports for UK TV schedule broadcast
-
5-0 Wimbledon 1996 was televised

07/12/14?
Leicester, 2-1 at Villa Park. We had already beaten Hull at home and Liverpool away on the telly that season.
-
The Albion game last March which I said was indeed our last league win on TV. 6 days before my daughter was born!

Barry wasn't not available. :-/

Is this her first Christmas and New Year?
What a lovely time for you. I hope the Villa come up to expectations on the holidays!

He does. If it really needed clarifying.

I think it's her second. Don't know the family, just going by the data.

It is indeed her second Christmas. That was definitely an interesting week in our house, we beat Albion twice and then our little girl was born. My wife is an Albion season ticket holder!

Great, I hope the tradition continues and your little girl has another lovely Christmas!

Can someone remind me what fixture was the infamous "Why did Barry not take that penalty"? Was it Arsenal?

Liverpool cup semi?

Liverpool cup semi?
Last league win - March 2015, Albion
Last cup win - September 2015, Blues
If we don't end the TV hoodoo over the next month then we'll be bottom of the league, we're on every week!
-
Even under MON we were largely shite to watch on telly.
-
Our results were pretty good though...won a lot of them during 07/08 and 08/09 as I was watching most of them at uni.

European cup final ?
-
FA Cup semi-final.
-
That wasn't really "away", was it?
-
Last televised away win would've been one-nil, at Anfield. September 2014.

I did think of that one but was sure we weren't so shite that there must be one after that.
Incredible foresight by Lerner really. He knew a Villa manager wouldn't manage an away win on tv for at least another two years in which case a new-improved ''I told him to sack me'' bumper-contract for Mr Lambert was clearly more than merited. And sure while he was at it, giving the goalscorer a new deal too was clearly a no-brainer!
-
Could be worse. We could've won two-nil with N'Zogbia getting the second.
-
And so it goes on. It's going to put paid to our promotion hopes this season. That and the fact we are shit away from home.
-
The worst is when it reaches public domain , online media and social comment about this Tv not winning run. It ll get out and have to hear all again. I though think QPR away is perfect chance especially after inept performance of not Leeds at home just please before rhe year out and the media on sky matches start talking about it in pre match build up and previews
-
I would be quite happy for us not to be live on sky for a long time.
