Title: Boris - Byron Fuller.
Post by: Percy McCarthy on November 07, 2016, 06:43:04 PM
Passed away early this morning while waiting for a liver transplant at the QE. Old school Holte-Ender going back to the seventies. Real character, great laugh, knew all the songs apart from the second and third verses of Holte Enders in the Sky, which I sang to him in the Charley Hall on the day of the 'Villains' book release.

Not sure if Boris was a nick-name (hence the hyphen), it was the only name I knew him by until today.

RIP Boz.

Had some great times at matches home and away with Bozza in the 80's. He loved  his music too (of many genres) and we went to some top gigs together back then.
RIP Boz.

Very sad to hear about Boz. Eat, slept and breathed Villa. Used to drink round Balsall Heath with Boz who wouldn't give an inch when it came to Villa. Loved a good pop quiz aswell. RIP.

I unexpectedly saw him in a pub in Balsall Heath once when I thought I was far behind enemy lines. It was great to see a friendly face.

Am absolutely gutted to read this terrible news.

I knew Borris from the 70's and was very close with him at one point.

He was a true gentleman, a mad Villa fan and a great laugh.

RIP Bozza

Yes Percy (like myself) he was from South Brum when I first knew him (Moseley) and he went out there often, as well as round the city centre.

Yes, Boz was from Moseley back in the day.  The last time I really spent some time with him was Wigan away, last game of the season about 4 years ago.  We had a real good day and real good drink that day, ending up on the last train back to Brum.

He was living in Great Barr at that point and told me to come over for a drink one of the nights, I never did, which is obviously something I regret now.  I know at around that time, he was using the Aston Tavern and would often stay in there throughout the match as well.

I'm very saddened because above all else, he was such a nice bloke.

RIP Boz another Holte Ender in the sky taken far to early, great lad from my neck of the woods, occasionally found him in the Trees, the Firebird and the Earl.
The man who named the C-Crew (Corner Crew).

I think that all got taken a bit out of context as well.

He came out with the name in Yarmouth, after we had played at Ipswich.  There were 2 coaches, one going straight back to Brum, the other going to Yarmouth.  Those going to Yarmouth were referred to as the sea crew.  The next week, we had Everton at home and it was changed to the C.Crew.  It had nothing to do with the corner or anything like that-Nobody even stood in the corner at that point anyway.

All trivial but Bozza took the credit for the name.

Exactly right . Yarmouth was very eventful as well.

Last seen him at the final the semi final he was dressed up as a gorilla after the game and long celebrations he was sat sleeping in the chair still with his gorilla stuff on minus the head .

He spent hours after the game going through his repertoire old Villa songs

I was surprised he didn’t know, and delighted to teach him, the second and third verses to Holte Enders In The Sky in the Charley Hall in Erds after the Villains book launch.
