Sad news, I gather he was a very good player, one of the best in the 1957 Cup winning side.
Also played for Zambia.
-
RIP Jackie.

Sad day. One of my first Villa heroes and a very accomplished inside forward.
-
Met him a couple of years back with Nigel Sims talking about their Villa memories, lovely fella and quite a character. Sad news RIP Jackie.

RIP. That's the last survivor of the famous England 3 Hungary 6 game gone. Can't be many of our Cup Winners left now. 🙁

Just Nigel Sims and Peter McParland from the starting 11.

And only Bobby Charlton from their team. Obviously most of them didn't make it to 1959.

Very sad news, RIP Jackie
Each year I become more and more proud of being born in 1957 (albeit in August)

Rest In Peace Jackie, and thank you

Thanks Jackie.

Next to Johnny Dixon's leg.

I'm sure Jackie Sewell scored in the first game my dad took me to. Billy Myerscough also scored against PNE in March 1957.

Yep, a 2-0 win in front of 30,151.

Another of my first Villa heroes gone. RIP Jackie, forever a hero.

We were very excited when he arrived. Was it Wednesday we bought him from? Sleep on Jackie boy.

Always a pleasure to watch all my heroes leaving us.

RIP Jackie.
A Villa hero forever.

There was an event at the South Bank years ago (1998? organised by WSC or Philosophy Football?). One of the sessions was a discussion featuring John Charles, Jackie Sewell and another footballer. Afterwards we had a chat with Jackie and he signed a book for me. He said his greatest wish was to see Villa win an FA Cup again.

Many memories of Jackie: a neat and skilful player. RIP

According to my dad, Jackie Sewell was a great player but had the amazing ability to come off the muddiest of pitches absolutely spotless with white shorts looking like he'd just taken them out of the kit hamper. I don't think he meant it as a compliment.
