Any other Mac users having a problem playing embedded Youtube videos on here? I'm now just getting a black rectangle where the vidoe should be. I've updated to the latest Flash player, but that hasn't helped. Any ideas?
-
It's happening on a PC using Chrome, but not on an iPad using Safari.
-
Do you have an example of a link or similar so can I try on my Mac Book Pro for you please ? Cheers
-
Any YouTube link properly embedded using the tags is stuffed.
-
Just copied this from the Brum music thread.

This plays fine for me via Google Chrome - Version 52.0.2743.116 (64-bit) - but I am unsure if this is a tagged example as previously suggested so might not be what is required ?

It plays fine in Youtube when you click the link, but embedding it on here is knacked.

Just tried and I'm getting the same on a laptop using Chrome. I'll get in touch with Martin.
-
It seems to vary depending on what device you are using.
I will have a look at the coding just in-case there is a problem.
-
I don't have a Mac but had the same problem on my phone. Videos only work properly in Internet Explorer. Would prefer it if the site changed so I could use it properly with Chrome or, better still, released an app.

I'm getting this on an Android tablet but not on an Android phone - both using Chrome.
-
Not working in Chrome for me either now. Just a black bar.

The latest versions of Chrome are deprecating the Flash player which was supposed to be replaced by the preferred HTML5 alternative some while ago. Unfortunately the Simple Machines version that we are using for this forum has the Flash player hard wired for embedded videos i.e. when you use the [youtube] bbcode. There may be a way around it, but it will involve work and headaches for the admins.
I would suggest people just post the long youtube link with a description, or better yet a short link including the description.

The above is correct, the embedded version on here is no longer supported. In most cases removal is normally a few clicks, but with this one l have to find the code and remove it manually without creating problems with other coding. I am working on which code to remove and will do so as quickly as l can.

Cheers Martin. While you're geeking about in there can you get the code to accept the "s" in the YouTube https?
-
All the code for the YouTube mod has been removed (135 lines had to be edited - for those interested).
There is no button, so you will just have to post the url for now, and use the 'Insert Hyperlink'
New button added for YouTube.

Top stuff.

Hi Martin - a couple of things:
A) the https works! Wooo!
B) the embedded video is HUUUUUUGE

Re. B) Yes l know, l still need to edit some code for that, but ran out of time at work (not that l did any)! Will get to it asap.

Excellent work. Or not work. Or whatever :)
-
Image settings changed, is that any better?
-
Mine's great now. Thank you Martin.
-
Perfect. Cheers, sir.

Liking the new set up Martin.
