Heard on Midlands News last night that roadworks are starting this week on M6 J6 sliproad, the Expressway and Park Circus, with full weekend closures due to last potentially until December. I usually use this route to get to and from King Edward's but obviously will now need to find a new route. Full details here (http://www.highways.gov.uk/roads/road-projects/m6a38m-gravelly-hill-interchange-waterproofing-schemes/)

Yes, not much fun for those in North Birmingham (or I guess many other parts of the city and nearby areas). As much as it needs to be done it's a right pain in the arse. There's always the train I guess.
-
Didn't those sliproads only reopen about six months ago? That junction is like the bloody Forth Bridge.
-
looks like I will using Jct 5 for my journey's to B6 and back...:(

The works in detail. (http://www.highways.gov.uk/roads/road-projects/m6a38m-gravelly-hill-interchange-waterproofing-schemes/) Looks like you'll be able to exit at Park Circus, but not be able to rejoin afterwards.
-
You'll be able to exit at Park Circus if you're already on the Expressway but you won't be able to get onto the Expressway from the M6 as both slipways will be closed - further down the Journey Impact page it states:
M6 northbound exit slip at junction 6
closed to all traffic
no exit from the M6
M6 southbound exit slip at junction 6
closed to all traffic
no exit from the M6
-
The M6 Junction 6 Exit ( Spaghetti Junction ) both North and South, will be closed from Friday night until Monday morning.
For those drivers that would have used Junction 6 for the Middlesbrough game, please use Junctions 5 or 7.

There were signs in Perry Barr on Saturday warning of roadworks at Scott Arms. I didn't see the time period
I wouldn't have thought they'd do works there at the same time the Expressway is closed
Also, M5 North between Worcester and the M42 was a right bugger. Those roadworks will be ongoing all season, so I'll have to leave 30>60 minutes earlier for home games
-
Road works at the Scott Arms until September 5th
I work by the Villa Ground and it is a nightmare to get home, with all the road closures, will need patience and tell your partner you may be home later than usual.

On Saturday I got to Villa Park via M5-M6 Jnc 6-Park Circus no problem as weekend closures at Spaghetti have finished. For the return journey northbound access to the Expressway at Park Circus was closed, as expected, so I went up Birchfield Rd to M6 Jnc 7 no problem.
Just checking things for tomorrow night for the Huddersfield game and noticed traffic England have decided to do overnight roadworks on Junction 7 from today to 31st August, with the northbound access slip road closed from 21.00 - 6.00 meaning you can't get on the M6 northbound at Junction 6 or Junction 7 after tomorrow night's game. Brilliant
-
M5 is also supposed to be closed southbound tomorrow from 21:00, so others like me heading down this way after the game will need to plan for a dive off onto the A & B roads of Worcestershire

Absolute nightmare traffic wise with all the closures, what is normally a 20 minute journey back to Wolverhampton turned into a shambles, I did make it back a little before half past midnight though 👍

Where did you get stuck ? Scott Arms ?
Town side, there were roads shut all over the place between Mr Shin's and the ground. Luckily the SatNav got us through because he's feck all use as a navigator ;)

There was some sort of incident as I saw the emergency services parked up facing the wrong way on the Expressway when we finally got going. I didn't get off the car park until 11:00, complete gridlock.
-
I didn't get back until 1am. Absolutely shocking!
-
is it closed today on bank holiday = took me two hours 30 minutes from hinckley the other sunday as two cars decided to collide outside the station on Lichfield road , and I need to get into town .
-
I so want to make the trip from Wolverhampton tomorrow for the Forest game, but can anyone tell me if the traffic chaos is likely to be the same and take me 3 hours to get home after the match.
With it being on TV it just ain't worth 3 hours of traffic hell at the final whistle like after the Huddersfield game.
