Well what a shit season that was.
-
Goodbye 15-16 and good riddance
-
It's over - thank fuck for that!
-
Boot, human face, forever.
I really hope that's the last time I type those words.
-
Fitting end for the disgrace that is our team. Wankers.
-
can black fuck off today please
-
We're gone, and we'll be gone a while.
-
Disgusting.
I hope the team coach drives off a cliff on the way home.
-
I'll be glad to see the back of almost everyone involved today. The few players I wouldn't mind staying will be sold on because they're too good to play in the Div 2.
-
We're gone, and we'll be gone a while.
Yes, this embarrassing fucking circus isn't going to be coming back in a hurry.
-
Thank fuck that's over. Goodbye 15-16, and hopefully goodbye to most of those flea ridden scrote sacks that sully our shirt.
-
I can't bloody wait to watch the season review DVD.
-
17 points from 38 games, wow be interesting in previous seasons how quickly we reached 17 points, my guess is October in successful seasons and Christmas in not so successful seasons.
-
Oh, the synchronisity with last season's final game!
What a shocking 12 months.
now, at least let's hope that the renaissance can start, quickly.
-
the Villa season ends with a wimper while the toon go nap. Shite from top to bottom and without massive investment we won't be coming back in a hurry.
-
Thank McGrath that's over.
-
It's all well and good losing regularly, but to be routinely humiliated week after week is beyond belief.
I thought I'd stopped getting angry but that has brought it all back.
Fucking wankers, anti football, fucking wankers.
Every man jack one of them is a fucking wanker.
-
Thank fuck this season is finally over. Couldn't be more fitting we end it with an OG in injury time.
-
It's time for the club to have a full enema, but I'm worried that too many of these clots will be back next season.
-
Anther late goal, thank f*** it's over, now they can fu , oh I can't even be bothered to say any more
-
A 3-0 defeat would've earned me a nice few quid.
A 93rd minute own goal to make it 4-0 ensures these ****** piss me off right up until the very last second of the worst season ever.
-
Never have I been so pleased to see the end of the football season.
Now to see some statement of intent. New manager by the end of the month and most of these players fucked off between then and the beginning of August. I won't hold my breath.
-
Just seen the text update for the 4th goal, it sums up our season perfectly.
GOAL! Arsenal 4 Aston Villa 0 Bunn(90+2) Own Goal from close range.
The past year has been a series of own goals.
-
Losing 1-0 with 20 minutes remaining.
Bring on Micah Richards.
Lose 4-0.
-
If you'd have told me the script outside a very sunny Dean Court last August I'd never have believed you. Seems like a lifetime ago.
-
Well that was a fun season. Thank feck it's over, now start offloading the shite.
-
Time for us to go and stink out the Championship. The whiff from us in the Premiership became overpowering.
-
I'm not sure what happened. I went out to carve a chicken and came back in and we were 3-0 down.
-
Wish I had the confidence things will get better.
-
Saw about 10 minutes of this shite and it was 9 minutes too much. No idea what the final score was and I couldn't give a flying fuck, just like the twats pretending to be footballers.

-
Just please get rid of any player who has played more than five games this season.
-
They are a shit stain on our clubs history. They can all fuck off and I hope they have horrible summers. ****** the lot of them.
-
Wankers
-
Supporter for 45 years. Honestly past caring. Im numb to it all. One nil or four nil, what differnce does it make
Went last week and that must have been the most abject display i had seen in decades. Awful
-
At least we are top of the Championship till we start playing again in August
1. Aston Villa 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

3. Brentford 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

-
38, 41, 38, 38, 17.
-
Looking forward to August 6th already!
-
I can't bloody wait to watch the season review DVD.
It'll just be a GIF of a cow falling over in a field.
-
Enjoy that Randy ?
-
Just please get rid of any player who has played more than five games this season.
A sarcy riposte? no I wont bother sir
-
I was extremely romantically nourished by that whole season.
-
I'll be glad to see the back of almost everyone involved today. The few players I wouldn't mind staying will be sold on because they're too good to play in the Div 2.
Could you name these players who are "too good to play in the Div 2"? (I could do with a laugh).

The Arsenal team presumably...
-
On the plus side at least the final goal of the season was scored by one of our own players
-
Could have been worse. It didn't rain today.
-
If you'd have told me the script outside a very sunny Dean Court last August I'd never have believed you. Seems like a lifetime ago.
Yep. Plus Leicester would win the league by 10 points.
-
I just hope we'll be back with a vengeance one day to ram comments like these back down people's throats:
(from bbc)
look what happens when we have less injuries. Wilshere back, Santi back and finally we score some goals against a smaller club.
Alex, Cambridge

Goals galore! (http://www.flashscores.co.uk/match/ALt6zNIc/#video)
-
Well that's it then...goodbye to the premiership. . As usual we just went out quietly. Who knows when we will be back..1 year..2 years..10 years.. perhaps the premiership won't exist next time we get promoted. No solid squad to build from next year..all so sad..so very very sad..and all down to mismanagement. .look who's left in the premiership. ..Swansea. .allndlbion. .Watford. .Bournemouth. .stoke. sad...very very sad. Ah well...see you all at the park next season .have a good summer
-
Thank God it's over. What an utter disgrace of a squad.
-
I can't bloody wait to watch the season review DVD.
It'll just be a GIF of a cow falling over in a field.
Ha! Oh for it to be that entertaining.
-
Thank God thats over ...roll on next season

Credit to Rudi and Bunn for coming over to the away fans, and giving their shirts to a couple of kids. The rest can eff right off.
-
Disgusting.
I hope the team coach drives off a cliff on the way home.
As long as The Young Ones in the squad are allowed to get off first
-
Wow.
-
Bacuna was especially mince today, while I hope that's the last time I see Lescott play, as he limped off. Pity Richards come on.
Gash on the pitch, noisy off it.
That's about it. Thank Christ it's over.
-
Disgusting.

As long as The Young Ones in the squad are allowed to get off first
That's two reasons for the young ones to be wary of Cliff...
-
Credit to Rudi and Bunn for coming over to the away fans, and giving their shirts to a couple of kids. The rest can eff right off.
Rudi may be a limited footballer (to say tue least) but he appears to be an all round good egg and I hope he fills his boots for us next year like he did for Blackburn.

I've have much rather seen him play today than Bacuna, for fuck's sake. Results literally don't matter, Black might as well have given us a team to actually cheer for. By some distance, I dislike our players more than most of the teams we've played this season.

Got be the hope. Too many variables at the minute
-
I'm looking forward to the final few tweets from Lescott driving away in his flash Benz or whatever he has, Bacuna lying on the beach, Grealish lying on a street, Gabby lying in a kebab grease, Richards just being a wanker.
-
So three league wins all season. Utterly pathetic.
-
So three league wins all season. Utterly pathetic.
Yep. And the last 1/3 of the season yielded one point.
-

That's relegation form
-
Abysmal on the pitch. Unreal support off it. As predicted. Bring on the Championship, we're going to have some brilliant away days next season.
-
Another gutless, spineless and totally clueless showing against Arsenal .Have lost count of how many they have scored against us in the last half a dozen matches without us replying .At least we wont have to suffer next season unless we draw them in one of the cups
-
Goals galore! (http://www.flashscores.co.uk/match/ALt6zNIc/#video)
Goal 1 - Cross comes in, uncontested, no effort from the Villa player out wide to close him down or stop the cross, unmarked on the penalty spot, Lescott holding his arms out a few yards away
Goal 2 - Sanchez is just comically shit.
Goal 3 - Not a single defender within yards of him again, ball watching and ambling around back line, appalling. Player who plays the through ball is unchallenged and no one is within 5 yards of him.
Goal 4 - Midfield non existant as Arsenal player waltzs to the edge of the box, ball is pulled back, no midfielder picking up the attacker waiting, cue comedy ping pong
The team couldn't give a flying fuck about the results. There was no effort to defend against any of those goals. They all should go in the summer, every single one of them.
-
If you want a microcosm of why we aren't coming back anytime soon particularly under the present structure then you need only look at the toon win today. They look as if they went down with fight and some momentum for next season. We have absolutely zero momentum and this is made all the worse by the fact that we have had a months head start on the rest to get things moving for next season. I just pray there is a manager in charge in the background already working on what is needed but I seriously doubt it.
-
This supposed sale needs to happen asap and if it doesn't we are fucked with Moron in charge.
-
It I'll be interesting to see how.many of their players they can keep or would want to keep given the contract situation there.
-
I think Newcastle will try to keep hold of everyone they think worthwhile and only start culling if they don't make it back first attempt.

A great post and I absolutely agree.
The 'holding pattern' the club has decided to take has been for far too long and whilst their are mitigating circumstances (the supposed takeover) you have to worry whether it's has caused damage that will take far more than a summer to START to put right.
The last 7 weeks or whatever it is that Black has been in charge have been a complete and utter waste of time and worse than, they have been a wasted opportunity.
-
Well we hired a board 5 months ago who have pretty much achieved the square root of fuck all in reality so far.
-
Feel utterly relieved that this horror season is over. Optimistic about a takeover in the next couple of weeks, new manager and new direction for next season.
Honestly wouldn't be bothered if none of this squad play for us again.
Don't think it's a simple as getting just new players, we need to get rid of this losing/negative culture.
Ones I do want out asap as priority - Guzan, Micah, Gabby and Lescott
-
There is a massive culture problem to get rid of for whoever comes in under whatever ownership. Nigel Spink recently said he thought it would take four transfer windows to sort out and I can see that point. Four years for gabby wtf were they thinking.
-
Is it over yet? Can I come out now? Where did we finish?
-
The amazing Newcastle result, only emphasis why they are going to be strong favourites to go straight back up, particularly if Benitez decides to stay. Can't understand the Villa fans, who are happy they're going down.
-

You missed a blinder. We have qualified for the champions league. Oh shit, sorry I meant the championSHIP.
-
Well we hired a board 5 months ago who have pretty much achieved the square root of fuck all in reality so far.
That's a bit unfair on Hollis and Little.
Hollis seemed to be putting into a place a structure which would be Lernerproof. Lerner didn't like it when people with a wealth of experience found him to be a fuckwit. Argument ensued. They walked.

All true, but still doesn't change the fact they've done nothing since joining. The only thing Hollis has conjured up is some sackings.

I really don't think it makes any difference. I strongly doubt we'll be troubling the top six next season. Just think of what needs to happen, of the great upheaval that needs to take place to unsink this ship. It's monumental. Could take years.
-
It will take less than 12 months.
-
It will take less than 12 months.
On FIFA 16 maybe. In reality, its a multi year project. We didn't get here in a flash, and we wont return in a flash.
-
Lerner truly is a fuckwit. A shit businessman who's spent (wasted) a fortune of his dad's money - yes, father was the one with brains who made all the right investments, only for son to squander a good portion of it with stupid appointments and decision making.
-
It will take less than 12 months.

Exactly, we have nothing to build upon apart from training ground, the stadium and the supporters. Every other structure at the club in footballing terms is a shambles.
-

Maybe on Football Manager it's a multi year project, in the real world we will be promoted by this time next year.
-
Did all the players skulk off at the end or did any of them acknowledge the fans who wasted another pile of money and weekend for another beating?
-
They came over and clapped us. Gestede and Bunn gave shirts to some kids at the front.
-
It will take less than 12 months.
Put your house on it. Buy us all a drink when it happens.
-
We're favourites with Paddy Power, I'm not going to get good odds. I'll. Gladly share a promotion beer with the righteous brethren at Deepdale or where ever.
-
They came over and clapped us. Gestede and Bunn gave shirts to some kids at the front.
How were they received? Particularly the players that have been booed?
-
Richards was getting a booing but kept clapping us anyway. Rudy got a very good reception. Lescott didn't come across but he'd limped off. I couldn't make out Bacuna to be honest.
-
Are we odds on? Is it evens? Even if it's 2-1, you put your house on it, you'll win two houses. That's not bad for something as sure as a sunrise.
-
I'll put my house on promotion, you put yours on struggling. I'll happily take you on as a tenant.
-
Richards was getting a booing but kept clapping us anyway. Rudy got a very good reception. Lescott didn't come across but he'd limped off. I couldn't make out Bacuna to be honest.
None of us have been able to make out Bacuna all season.
-
I'll put my house on promotion, you put yours on struggling. I'll happily take you on as a tenant.
What are the odds on us struggling?
I think the difference is I'm not telling people we'll definitely do anything. You're saying we'll definitely go up. Put your house on it and buy us all a mere drink when you win. You can't lose.
-
The amazing Newcastle result, only emphasis why they are going to be strong favourites to go straight back up, particularly if Benitez decides to stay. Can't understand the Villa fans, who are happy they're going down.
Having them there raises the bar and it should be interesting to compare how the two clubs deal with the fight for automatic promotion. For me, that can only be a positive. I want us to be the best we can possibly be, the whole club from top to bottom focused on our return. Expectations have to be raised, no more taking it all on the chin as we fumble along and competition can only be good for us.
-
Wolves went down on TSM1 season with 26 points. They sold Jarvis, Fletcher, Hennersey, Fletcher. All saleable players.
We have none. They are all shite.
These players only know how to lose. In the same manner they have lost to Bradford, Sheffield United etc. (with negative managers).
Wolves went straight down.
We are in the same boat.
-
I bet the likes of Rotherham, Wigan, Burton, Huddersfield etc are terrified at the prospect of having to play Villa twice next season.
-

I said what I think, that we will be promoted, you said what you think, others have their opinion inbetween or on the extremities of those.
I took umbrage at the condescending remark (not from you).
-
That's fair enough Ads, but you seem supremely confident, nay, certain. Can you offer us any reasons as to why you think a club for which everything - that's everything bar the big ground and nice training facilities - is broken, will be able to turn itself around in three months. Have you been told something we don't know? If so, please share and I might double up your stake.
-
Unless there is a huge turnaround on the scale of Leicester we will struggle to get back next season.
We have to replace the owner, the manager, sort out the squad, bring in new players, stabilise the finances and change the culture.
I don't see that being achieved in 3 months.
-
I bet the likes of Rotherham, Wigan, Burton, Huddersfield etc are terrified at the prospect of having to play Villa twice next season.
I bet theyre shitting their knickers, with sleepless nights and cold sweats.
-
The amazing Newcastle result, only emphasis why they are going to be strong favourites to go straight back up, particularly if Benitez decides to stay. Can't understand the Villa fans, who are happy they're going down.
Frankly I don't think we'll be focused on the top end of the table.
-
There are so many things to be put right with this club. Injured players to heal, pre-season to be co-ordinated, players to be released, bought etc. No-one in charge to oversee it. The new Manager is going to come in to a right proper mess. He'll also probably find Paddy Riley sitting in his office on Fifa 16, looking through statistics to see who me might sign!! What a shambles the club has become.
-
Did we replace our chief German and Iberian scouts when we found out they were a surfer dude the other side of the world and a kid at school?
-
We have no idea what the close season will bring, either good or bad. We have no idea what next season will bring either. The only thing that has struck me since I started taking notice of such things a few months back is that standards in the championship are not high.
How did Newcastle suddenly become Europe's third best team on the strength of one result? They still have Ashley running the place, so either a) it is possible for a shit owner to make an inspired managerial appointment given enough attempts, and the rest is easy or b) they are still just as shit this week as they were 7 days ago and are no more likely to prosper than us.
-
Did we replace our chief German and Iberian scouts when we found out they were a surfer dude the other side of the world and a kid at school?
I think we promoted them
-
looking at us today, you know when you get a team from a league or three below playing a high placed prem club and they look outclassed and go down 3 or 4 nill
Villa arnt even like that they are worse,
even the lower league club have a go, they cause a few problems here and there, they bust a gut , they create some chances
Villa don't, they are just fucking useless,
They go a whole games after games without having a half decent chance of busting the net,
It's clueless stuff, it beggars belief, everything they conspire to do breaks down because they are so crap at playing football
They are a shower of unremitting shit, an embarrassment that do not belong on the same field as other professional footballers
I was proud to be among the Villa fans today, they are quality and that will remain no matter what league we play in
But the team is the worst I've seen in my lifetime, and my first match was in the old 3rd division
-
I bet the likes of Rotherham, Wigan, Burton, Huddersfield etc are terrified at the prospect of having to play Villa twice next season.
Yes the Directors will be worried how they can afford all the scoring and win bonuses they will have to pay out.
-
Didn't Jolean, Micah and Leo throw their shirts to the fans at the end???? No???
-
For people who were at the game was there trouble with stewards? I've just seen someone say they were punched in the face
-

I kind of envision Pearson walking into the club in something akin to that scene in The Terminator where Arnie blitzes through a police station. Maybe I've watched too many games this season.
-
We travel forward into next season more in hope than expectation but it can be done. Surely we couldn't be any worse from top to bottom as a club if we tried ?
-
For people who were at the game was there trouble with stewards? I've just seen someone say they were punched in the face
I saw one pissed up bloke asked to leave.
the stewards could have clamped down on the inflatables and conga if they'd wanted to but, from what I saw, they just let the Villa fans get on with the gallows humour.

Stewards were generally ok. There were signs in the away end warning that there were no inflatables allowed - because they are obviously highly dangerous - and no beer on sale either.
-

Just seen the goals on MotD. Fuck me. I would have scored Giroud's first and third goals - he hardly had to move and he was in 10 yards of space, because our clowns were ball watching. We made it so easy for him.
I dunno about the Championship, we would struggle to beat a half decent pub team defending like that.
-
We can't compete with the Dog and Ducks of this world.
-

Richards looked at fault for 2 of them. Charlatan walking around the pitch wearing the captains armband. Carlos Sanchez looked laughably shit too on the highlights
-
Another unwanted record for our club in this season of hell. We have been in front in a match for just 243 minutes in the whole of the season which is a new Premier league record by all accounts .Well done Randolph
-
The whole set up at Villa is a total shambles and unless we are sold sharpish any thoughts of an immediate return are way off the mark.
We have moaned all season and quite rightly at the likes of Gabby, Richards,Richardson, Lescott, Guzan, Batcunatwat, but then you have Cissokho, Westwood, Sanchez, Sinclair, Hutton, Gestede, Bunn, I would also lump Veretout, Gana into that lot as well, who although they try are just not very good footballers, this team has won three games all season for gods sake, managed to get 17 points, have a goal difference of -49, I saw relegation to the third division as was then and the club has the same stench of disorganization now.
One point about the Geordie nation today, If I supported them I would be well pissed off, relegated and they beat the team that started the day 2nd, go down to 10 men and win, and win by 5-1, at least these wankers we have a Villa park have proved under 3 managers how crap are manager choices have been and how crap they are at the game they get paid for playing. Wankers everyone of them.
-
After the first i thought we competed excellently. We were still playing against a very good team and defended well until the second went in. Bunn was too slow off his line for the third - I was in ilne - ish - with Bunn and the line held by the defence was a good one and when giroud went through if Bunn had have come out straight away he would have got there easily. He stood waiting for a flg until it was too late. the final one was an unfortunate own goal after a great save from Bunn.
A couple of chances - Ayew should have done better when it was 1-0 and he squared it when the shot was on - but nothing more. Jack looked composed when he came on but to be fair 4-0 was harsh but hey ho. Thank God this has finished.
-
Peter W , I think it was the third goal, Giroud broke through the line was not held well, I think it was Toner who dropped back and played Giroud on, he will learn but he dropped back without need.
I also had the impression that Arsenal could have moved through the gears at any time and just blown us away.
-
Sounds to me just like the cup final, if they would have wanted it, they could have had 6 or 7
Thankfully it is all over, I just hope that if there are new owners on the horizon, that they give us some hope for the future. If Mr Lerner stays in charge, we will be struggling to stay up next season.
-
It's probably been said before but the Villa fans were fantastic yesterday. I was in amongst the Arsenal fans in the clock end & they kept complimenting the Villa fans. Mind you they would as we rolled over for them to get second spot!,,
-
Yeah I was in with the Arsenal fans and they congratulated me non-stop about the support and how many we take away. made me feel about patronised to be honest. Great support usually means that you're a plucky little club with no axe to grind. Although i do think that the words were more honest about why we were supporting the club the way we were and not just a pat on the head to the little club. But I wonder how nice the Arsenal fans would have been had Tottenham not fecked it up as they were then in party mode.
Had tottenham drawn at the very least the songs would have turned to Arsenal and they would have been less inclined to congratulate us. Anyway, lets get back to supporting our team and not just our club. I want to go there again and be remembered for the 11 on the pitch, win lose or draw, and not the thousands watching on.
-

Yes the 'custodian' has done a marvellous job.

The coach driver would have to be as inept as the everyone else associated with the club to to get so lost as to find a cliff between London and Birmingham. But I'm sure they could find one bad enough.

Now that's over and done with, f-ck off Lerner, black, Reilly, Richards lescott, nzogbia, bacuna, guzan, richardson, gabby etc etc...f-ck off asap!!!!!
On a separate issue the arses jerking themselves off on finishing 2nd to Leicester is funny;the sad cockney b-st-rds. Not winning the EPL this season of all seasons is embarrassing and indicates many barren years ahead for them.

So 2 wins in our last 37 games and none in the last 14.
I think the club's lowering of expectations reached a new nadir when Black basically claimed the players had restored some pride by finishing the season with 1 point from 3 games (from a 0-0 draw at home to another relegated side) and two defeats (a 4-0 pasting and an injury time loss to an out-of-form team with nothing to play for).
Most people have concentrated on attitude this season, but make no mistake - the quality is woefully lacking too and these players with pathetic performance stats are not about to 'rip up' the Championship.
Time to start enjoying weekends again for a few months at least.

It's probably been said before but the Villa fans were fantastic yesterday. I was in amongst the Arsenal fans in the clock end & they kept complimenting the Villa fans. Mind you they would as we rolled over for them to get second spot!,,
Villa fans were brilliant as ever - the perfect mix of arrogant defiance and self deprecating humour. Arsenal fans couldn't take the piss out of us any more than we were doing to ourselves and several Arsenal fans in the pub (Faltering Fullback) afterwards were very impressed by our support. Another great Villa away day. Fuck the players, fuck the manager, the owner and his military houseboy, the fans are the beating heart of Villa.

One of the women who runs the 'Fight Like Lions' group on Facebook has posted that she got involved in a fracas between stewards and some pissed up blokes and one of the stewards accidentally punched her in the face and she's lost a tooth!
I am not sure what stewards are doing throwing punches though!

One steward came up to my mate during the second half and had a chat about electronic cigarettes being banned in grounds, even though he doesn't smoke and no-one around us was using one either. It was a bit bizarre.

Sounds like your mate has a new friend...

It was more about finishing above Tottenham to be fair and the atmospher i n their end was good because of it:
"You've done it agaaaaaain
Tottenham Hotspur you've done it again"
I thought was particularly funny.
They enjoyed laughing at their rivals having their best season since 60-61 and still end up finishing behind Arsenal. As football fans we can all appreciate the one-upmanship of rivalry.
-
Support was fantastic again, but as Dave W states in his article, what I want most of all from now on, is to have a team that deserves the support so we can talk about them the team, the performance, how they got the support going because of their inspired performance, just hope that is not to much to ask for.

As we said to a couple of Arsenal fans in the pub, there was no hope so no need to get angry with the players, just try to enjoy the afternoon and show our love for the club. Good support again yesterday (though i hated the cheering of Arsenal's goals) but if we don't start next season well I think that things could get edgy again very quickly.
-
I didn't join in with the cheering of their goals. Seeing us concede is still like a punch to the guts no matter the context. Or regularity.
-
Poor form for the villa players not to come over to the fans and celebrate getting the corners with us.
-
Three excellent corners won including two consecutively and we didn't concede from any of them can't ask for more.
-
Football fans are born pessimists all over. The Gooners around me were fretting us equalising with comments like "It's be just like Arsenal to not beat the Villa now that Spurs are losing" comments. But then they were gifted with Richards coming on and an easy cruise to final whistle.
-
Had the pleasure of sitting above the Villa fans in some Arsenal club thingy.
Their fans are so frustrated. When we got some sort of foothold to stready the ship after their first goal, all you could hear was 'shoot!' & 'take a bloody shot!'. As mentioned above they were more worked up in Spurs' demise than their own performance. A Blues like fixation.
Not a hospitality fan normally, but have to say it was really well organised. If we have a benchmark for a few years time, this has to be it.
Great 'love in' around Covent Garden well into the night. Shared beers with Leicester, Arsenal, Spurs, Sunderland, Watford & Grimsby. All were sorry to see us go, & had lots of respect for the conduct & tolerance of us fans through so much shit. And they all think we'll be straight back up.

Am I REALLY your Buddy?? (and if you've seen "Cable Guy" you'll know what I mean.
