A 3-0 defeat would've earned me a nice few quid.

A 93rd minute own goal to make it 4-0 ensures these ****** piss me off right up until the very last second of the worst season ever.

I've have much rather seen him play today than Bacuna, for fuck's sake. Results literally don't matter, Black might as well have given us a team to actually cheer for. By some distance, I dislike our players more than most of the teams we've played this season.

Goals galore! (http://www.flashscores.co.uk/match/ALt6zNIc/#video)

Goal 1 - Cross comes in, uncontested, no effort from the Villa player out wide to close him down or stop the cross, unmarked on the penalty spot, Lescott holding his arms out a few yards away
Goal 2 - Sanchez is just comically shit.
Goal 3 - Not a single defender within yards of him again, ball watching and ambling around back line, appalling. Player who plays the through ball is unchallenged and no one is within 5 yards of him.
Goal 4 - Midfield non existant as Arsenal player waltzs to the edge of the box, ball is pulled back, no midfielder picking up the attacker waiting, cue comedy ping pong

The team couldn't give a flying fuck about the results. There was no effort to defend against any of those goals. They all should go in the summer, every single one of them.

If you want a microcosm of why we aren't coming back anytime soon particularly under the present structure then you need only look at the toon win today. They look as if they went down with fight and some momentum for next season.  We have absolutely zero momentum and this is made all the worse by the fact that we have had a months head start on the rest to get things moving for next season.  I just pray there is a manager in charge in the background already working on what is needed but I seriously doubt it.

A great post and I absolutely agree.
The 'holding pattern' the club has decided to take has been for far too long and whilst their are mitigating circumstances (the supposed takeover) you have to worry whether it's has caused damage that will take far more than a summer to START to put right.
The last 7 weeks or whatever it is that Black has been in charge have been a complete and utter waste of time and worse than, they have been a wasted opportunity.

Feel utterly relieved that this horror season is over. Optimistic about a takeover in the next couple of weeks, new manager and new direction for next season.
Honestly wouldn't be bothered if none of this squad play for us again.
Don't think it's a simple as getting just new players, we need to get rid of this losing/negative culture.

Ones I do want out asap as priority -  Guzan, Micah, Gabby and Lescott

There is a massive culture problem to get rid of for whoever comes in under whatever ownership.  Nigel Spink recently said he thought it would take four transfer windows to sort out and I can see that point.  Four years for gabby wtf were they thinking.

It will take less than 12 months.

On FIFA 16 maybe. In reality, its a multi year project. We didn't get here in a flash, and we wont return in a flash.

Exactly, we have nothing to build upon apart from training ground, the stadium and the supporters. Every other structure at the club in footballing terms is a shambles.

Maybe on Football Manager it's a multi year project, in the real world we will be promoted by this time next year.

The amazing Newcastle result, only emphasis why they are going to be strong favourites to go straight back up, particularly if Benitez decides to stay. Can't understand the Villa fans, who are happy they're going down.

Having them there raises the bar and it should be interesting to compare how the two clubs deal with the fight for automatic promotion. For me, that can only be a positive. I want us to be the best we can possibly be, the whole club from top to bottom focused on our return. Expectations have to be raised, no more taking it all on the chin as we fumble along and competition can only be good for us.

Wolves went down on TSM1 season with 26 points. They sold Jarvis, Fletcher, Hennersey, Fletcher. All saleable players.

We have none. They are all shite.

These players only know how to lose. In the same manner they have lost to Bradford, Sheffield United etc. (with negative managers).

Wolves went straight down.

We are in the same boat.

Unless there is a huge turnaround on the scale of Leicester we will struggle to get back next season.
We have to replace the owner, the manager, sort out the squad, bring in new players, stabilise the finances and change the culture.
I don't see that being achieved in 3 months.

There are so many things to be put right with this club.  Injured players to heal, pre-season to be co-ordinated, players to be released, bought etc.  No-one in charge to oversee it. The new Manager is going to come in to a right proper mess.  He'll also probably find Paddy Riley sitting in his office on Fifa 16, looking through statistics to see who me might sign!!  What a shambles the club has become.

We have no idea what the close season will bring, either good or bad. We have no idea what next season will bring either. The only thing that has struck me since I  started taking notice of such things a few months back is that standards in the championship are not high.

How did Newcastle suddenly become Europe's third best team on the strength of one result? They still have Ashley running the place, so either a) it is possible for a shit owner to make an inspired managerial appointment given enough attempts, and the rest is easy or b) they are still just as shit this week as they were 7 days ago and are no more likely to prosper than us.

looking at us today, you know when you get a team from a league or three below playing a high placed prem club and they look outclassed and go down 3 or 4 nill

Villa arnt even like that they are worse,
even the lower league club have a go, they cause a few problems here and there, they bust a gut , they create some chances
Villa don't, they are just fucking useless,

They go a whole games after games without having a half decent chance of busting the net,
It's clueless stuff, it beggars belief, everything they conspire to do breaks down because they are so crap at playing football

They are a shower of unremitting shit, an embarrassment that do not belong on the same field as other professional footballers

I was proud to be among the Villa fans today, they are quality and that will remain no matter what league we play in
But the team is the worst I've seen in my lifetime, and my first match was in the old 3rd division

Stewards were generally ok. There were signs in the away end warning that there were no inflatables allowed - because they are obviously highly dangerous - and no beer on sale either.

The whole set up at Villa is a total shambles and unless we are sold sharpish any thoughts of an immediate return are way off the mark.
We have moaned all season and quite rightly at the likes of Gabby, Richards,Richardson, Lescott, Guzan, Batcunatwat, but then you have Cissokho, Westwood, Sanchez, Sinclair, Hutton, Gestede, Bunn, I would also lump Veretout, Gana into that lot as well, who although they try are just not very good footballers, this team has won three games all season for gods sake, managed to get 17 points, have a goal difference of -49, I saw relegation to the third division as was then and the club has the same stench of disorganization now.
One point about the Geordie nation today, If I supported them I would be well pissed off, relegated and they beat the team that started the day 2nd, go down to 10 men and win, and win by 5-1, at least these wankers we have a Villa park have proved under 3 managers how crap are manager choices have been and how crap they are at the game they get paid for playing. Wankers everyone of them.

After the first i thought we competed excellently. We were still playing against a very good team and defended well until the second went in. Bunn was too slow off his line for the third - I was in ilne - ish - with Bunn and the line held by the defence was a good one and when giroud went through if Bunn had have come out straight away he would have got there easily. He stood waiting for a flg until it was too late. the final one was an unfortunate own goal after a great save from Bunn.

A couple of chances - Ayew should have done better when it was 1-0 and he squared it when the shot was on - but nothing more. Jack looked composed when he came on but to be fair 4-0 was harsh but hey ho. Thank God this has finished.

Peter W , I think it was the third goal, Giroud broke through the line was not held well, I think it was Toner who dropped back and played Giroud on, he will learn but he dropped back without need.
I also had the impression that Arsenal could have moved through the gears at any time and just blown us away.

Yeah I was in with the Arsenal fans and they congratulated me non-stop about the support and how many we take away. made me feel about patronised to be honest. Great support usually means that you're a plucky little club with no axe to grind. Although i do think that the words were more honest about why we were supporting the club the way we were and not just a pat on the head to the little club. But I wonder how nice the Arsenal fans would have been had Tottenham not fecked it up as they were then in party mode.

Had tottenham drawn at the very least the songs would have turned to Arsenal and they would have been less inclined to congratulate us. Anyway, lets get back to supporting our team and not just our club. I want to go there again and be remembered for the 11 on the pitch, win lose or draw, and not the thousands watching on.

So 2 wins in our last 37 games and none in the last 14.

I think the club's lowering of expectations reached a new nadir when Black basically claimed the players had restored some pride by finishing the season with 1 point from 3 games (from a 0-0 draw at home to another relegated side) and two defeats (a 4-0 pasting and an injury time loss to an out-of-form team with nothing to play for).

Most people have concentrated on attitude this season, but make no mistake - the quality is woefully lacking too and these players with pathetic performance stats are not about to 'rip up' the Championship.

Time to start enjoying weekends again for a few months at least.

Tottenham Hotspur you've done it again"

Had the pleasure of sitting above the Villa fans in some Arsenal club thingy.

Their fans are so frustrated.  When we got some sort of foothold to stready the ship after their first goal, all you could hear was 'shoot!' & 'take a bloody shot!'.  As mentioned above they were more worked up in Spurs' demise than their own performance.  A Blues like fixation.

Not a hospitality fan normally, but have to say it was really well organised.  If we have a benchmark for a few years time, this has to be it.

Great 'love in' around Covent Garden well into the night.  Shared beers with Leicester, Arsenal, Spurs, Sunderland, Watford & Grimsby.  All were sorry to see us go, & had lots of respect for the conduct & tolerance of us fans through so much shit.  And they all think we'll be straight back up.
