Great job, but made easier by the fact our players have covered so little turf this season its had plenty of opportunity to flourish!
-
Wonder how many of them are being made redundant?
-
Well done lads. Wonder how they're looking for jobs next season.
-
The shit that we put on the pitch has probably helped the ground staff and saved the club a fortune in fertiliser.
-
We WON !!!!! 8)
-
We should ace the award for the championship next season then.
-
They do a brilliant job don't they?
It looks magnificent every game
-
I only see bits of the pitch as I watch games through my fingers, but the sections I can see look nice.
Well done team.
Just when things were starting to look a bit bleak something like this comes along to give everyone a massive lift.
-
Winder if any of them will be made redundant.?
-
At least someone knows what they're doing!
-
Or, as Flabby might say, "don't walk on the grass; smoke it!"
-
Something to cheer in an otherwise crap season. Well done all concerned. Here's your P45 and a reference, cheers!!
-
Randolph will have it astroturfed next season. Cheers lads
-
At least there are still some professionals left at the club. I bet not one of them makes in a year what flabby leeches in a week.
-
Or, as Flabby might say, "don't walk on the grass; smoke it!"
Gabby, do you prefer grass or astroturf?
Dunno, aint never smoked astroturf.....
-
Some good news huh, don't worry. Pretty sure tomorrow a story will emerge about Randy Flying over, so he can do drunken donuts on the pitch in a monster truck.
-
Yes it's all down to the horse shit what's on it nearly every week
-
Actually Paddy Riley is thinking of replacing these guys with the wurzels for next season due to the money ball system
-
Good news, well done to the groundsman. Let's hope they survive the staff cull, the club may consider them dispensable and just stick Gabby out to graze between matches. That should keep the turf trim.
-
I heard on the vine that the club are debating whether to cordon off the opponents half from next season, and ask the league to allow both halves to be played towards the Holte End so they can cut grounds keeping labor by 50%
-
We did a ground tour a few years back on a Sunday. When we came out onto pitch-side (God it was great!) there were the ground staff gently working away on the pitch - They came over and answered all my dumb questions and I asked why they were here on a Sunday lunchtime - they said there might be an U21 match on the Monday afternoon so thought they ought to check the pitch. We had played away that Saturday so their dedication must be immense.
-
The pitch always looks fantastic at Villa Park, especially under the floodlights before a night match. I remember being blown away first night match I went to, which was also my first time in the Holte End (v Leicester league cup '82). The ground staff do an excellent job.

This season they have only used each half of the pitch for 45 minutes - no wonder they have won awards.
-
We've got 99 problems but a pitch ain't one.

Well done and congratulations to the groundsmen at The Villa, Premier league's Grounds Team of the Year award. My cousin Paul and his team. Proud of you all. WELL DONE.
