cancelled - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36035921
Ayew would have got my vote, he is about the only one who has carried on putting in maximum effort, probably in the hope of getting a move away
Gana the only other one who I think has had a decent season but there have been times when his head appears to have dropped
who would get your vote and why?
-
coin toss between the 2 you named. If he'd stayed fit Amavi would've been in with a shot as well because I think he was becoming very important to us (which is why Tim dropping him pissed me off so much).

I don't think I'd vote for any of them. Ayew has been the best of a bad bunch as you said, but even he cost us with a stupid sending off and hasn't looked as good in the second half of the season. Amavi was good for a few games and has been a big loss. Okore was good after he came back from injury but since then has clearly decided he wants out. Gana - not bad, Veretout - promising in patches. The rest, crap to utter crap.
-
Wayne Hennessey. Gave us a bit of hope for a time.
-
Shame, I was going to vote for the steward by me K5. He cares more than the players.
-
Difficult to single out one player in what has been a real team effort.
-
The DVD season review will be a fantastic stocking filler for bad children ;)
-
Bacuna. I'm going to get BT Sport just so I can watch him play next season.
-
Pretty sensible from the club.
-
Definitely a good decision by the club. It would turn into a ruck with the players on the car park.
Whoever you look at they've had a shocker or 30 - if I had to choose I'd give it to Rudy for at least ensuring we beat the noses in this horror season. Ayew is a no for chucking his arms at West Ham.
-
They should have done the equivalent of the Razzies.
-
is this even news? It would have been news had we gone ahead with it mind you, because that would have been a little bit bonkers.
-
Ayew or Gana for me as well.
-
It's the right decision. Although it spoils the fun of Andre Green or one of the other kids winning it.
It will also surely mean no lap of 'honour' too.
-
I agree that it is a sensible decision and were I a player (with a consience, that I think a few don't have) I would be really rather embarrassed.
-

Well they have the rights to the Conference or whatever it is called nowadays

The lap of honour should happen. I'm looking forward to telling these players that they are failures in front of their children.

I would vote for Alan Hutton. He's not the best player in the world - or even in this shitty, shitty team - but he seems professional and works very hard. That's all I could possibly hope for this season. Sad, isn't it?

Cancelled to to lack of interest.

Hutton for me too for the above reason.

Aston Villa will not hold player of the season awards as relegation looms (http://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/aston-villa-will-not-hold-player-of-the-season-awards-as-relegation-looms-34624199.html)

He has been the only one who looks like he cares but he's also been awful again.

He's been a good actor then because not one of these mercenary bastards cares
-
Jason Puncheon. We go again.
-
Nathan Baker has put in some decent performances .....for Bristol City!
-
Marc Albrighton.
-
When did Player of the season start ?
Did we have one in 1986/87 ?
-
Gary Gardner.
Thought they should have had some alternative awards - comedy goalkeeping error of the season, miss of the season, best pointer, best player insult to fans, furthest gum spitting, most weight gained, best paper plane from Holte End....
-
Its Amavi for me. Best player for me. Been a big miss while he's been out.
-
Palace keeper at Villa Park in January.....Done his best to keep us up.
-
Gary gardner on loan at Forest
-
Stephen Warnock at Wigan (on loan from Derby) is named in this weeks Football League Team Of The Week for his performance against Cov. So he gets my vote.
-
Ayew or Gana. They've tried. They've run hard for the team. Ayew shades it because he's one of the only players we have who seems to show any passion. He's been a 6/10 this season which probably makes him head and shoulders above everyone else. Gana's been about a 5. Sometimes he looks a good player. Sometimes he disappears or looks out of his depth.
As for the cancelling. Fully to be expected. It's been pathetic this season.
-
Hutton, may not be the most skilful, but at least he puts his heart into it

I'm surprised it wasn't cancelled the last few years. Ayew would probably have my vote but even he's been pretty crap. A bit like when Stephen Ireland won it a few years ago.
-
This story actually made the national Faroese news tonight (not sport news) - embarrassing.
-
How about the Terrace Trophy? Surely we still get a say in our player of the year? Or is whoever won it last season going to retain it – and I assume whoever that is doesn't even play for us any more?
-
The mascot gets the vote
-
I'd have replaced it with 'Most Hated, Useless, Twat of The Season'. The winner would be awarded their P45 - before undertaking a walk of shame through the car park (which would contain thousands of vengeful Villa fans).

We want our Bella back!
-
Should (and i'm only half-joking here) go to the supporters for putting up with them without resorting to Physical violence.

We need to start a campaign

They should have done the equivalent of the Razzies.
The "Tonev" has a ring to it
-
Wayne Hennessey for dropping the ball in his own net.
Ayew's stupid sending off was the point of no return - we had a chance of getting something out of that West Ham match which might have sparked a revival. For that, he's as bad as the worst of the rest.
-
Hutton, may not be the most skilful, but at least he puts his heart into it
Hutton for me too. At least he shows some fight. Other than that I would say Bunn, who shouldn't have been dropped in my opinion.
-
My vote would go to that bloke who abused them all at Wycombe.
-
Dmitri Payet.
I'm doing a Cameron.*
*I wish I could do the offshore money bit.
