I wasn't there tonight, so a helpful and measured summary as ever.
Unfortunately, I've also just read the "Birmingham: Decline of the invisible city" piece. I'm too depressed to go to bed now.

Didn't go to the game - Italian class again - but listened to the commentary in the car on the way home. They were saying that Sinclair was Villa's best player! Do you think he was the best of a poor bunch, Dave, or was the commentator talking rubbish?

It's all about opinions and I don't think he did well enough given the opposition.

Apart from one run and subsequent missed shot, I don't think that Sinclair had any influence on the game.

Posters who complain about the quality of the writing and intelligence levels displayed on this forum are clearly driven by an urge to find fault where none exists.
On the football finding fault is justified. On the writing quality it is not.

It might be had the poster not made several other snide comments to me in the past.

Good article, as always Mr Woodhall.
You have a knack of capturing mood through description of action and a real talent for expressing some quite complex ideas in a clear, honest and succinct style.
Ignore CV; if I was still teaching I'd be very happy to give this at least a C+.

I thought Californian Villain had posed a rather peculiar question or alternatively fallen down the rabbit hole (until I saw the 'Aston Villa Sucks' thread).
