what does PRAVDA stand for?

what does PRAVDA stand for?
It's a H&V in-joke Matt.
Pravda was the Russian newspaper owned by the Communist party which was basically the mouthpiece for all the propaganda the Party wanted to tell it's citizens.

Thanks...my best guess was Public Relations Aston Villa Digital Account. In view of your post it would appear I have been wasting my time and should have paid more attention in History. Still if nothing else you have swelled the coffers of my pub quiz knowledge so a cap doff in your direction, sir
-
Had you not heard of Pravda Matt?
Growing up in the Cold War we heard it mentioned on the news seemingly every night.
-
Quite reasonably priced this one. Not been to their ground although I get the impression than it is one example where the shift to a more modern set up is actually an improvement. Think it could be a decent day out too, for the first time in awhile we might actually fancy leaving with all three points.
-
As its on the box I'm giving this one a swerve, still scarred by last seasons "performance" there, a 0-1 loss that should have been about 6-0
-
Me, Red Sox, Legion and Freddy are going. Place your bets on what mishaps will occur as Legion is with us. Remember that last (and only) time he came away with us, Stoke last season, the car was hit twice while we were sat in it. On the car park. Total mishaps when it's just me and Mr Sox? Zero.
-
I know it's an identikit ground but at least there is some atmosphere and good banter at Leicester, you'll have a good time.

Well.....apart from that Wales thing on the way to Wigan ...............and finding out that the catalytic converter on my car had blown after driving back from Burnley.............and getting stuck in the Sacred Heart car park for half an hour after one of the cup games.
-
SOLD OUT signs are up for this one, though it's just the 2450 we are taking I believe.

You were as much to blame for Wales, and it was me who realised we were heading for Wales! And you converter was giving you problems anyway, so ner ner!

I see this has sold out. Any ideas why we haven't took up full allocation? It seemed we did same with Palace.

Any recommended parking near the ground? Trains from Northampton to Leicester are less than ideal

Last season I parked in the Multi-Storey on York Road (called the Newarke Street Car Park)
Its an easy mile walk to the ground

Last season I parked at the Athletics stadium on saffron lane, good spot for getting away quickly after the game
-
I parked outside the cricket ground, only a ten minute walk.
-
Leicester is particularly crap for driving into and even worse for parking. I use Enderby park and ride (http://quicksilverbus.co.uk/park-and-ride-leicester/enderby/) for travelling into the office and probably will do for the game. Spoke to a member of staff there this week and apparently they use double deckers for match days. Costs £3.50 per car (if more than one person in car).

?? If you're heading there up the M69 it really isn't a problem, we found using saffron lane was probably one of the easiest away trips last year .
-
Has anyone not had their tickets yet? Or should I be worried?
-
Not had mine.
-
3305 tickets all sold according to pravda

My first Villa match would have been at Filbert Street on 5 March 1997 - but Dave Wangerin didn't get tickets in advance and it was sold out when we got to the ground. Villa lost 1-0 so probably for the best. We stopped at a pub in Sheepy Magna (or was it Sheepy Parva?) on the way back to Perton.
Leicester did the double over Villa that season (1-3 at VP)
-
The Black Horse, Sheepy Magna...Sheepy Parva is only about 3 houses and a pile of cow shit.
I lived in the area at the time.
The buggers seemed to beat us at will very regularly. Tough times in the local.
-
They remind me of Coventry in a way, definite one way hatred of us. There always been quite a bit of needle around Filbert Street and the Crisp Bowl; last season being no exception.

I didn't see any bother
-
There was a lot of aggro in Leicester town centre before and during the game. There was fisticuffs by the coaches too.
-
There was a video of half a dozen blokes in the town, ultimately doing fuck all during the game. Unless lobbing a bin counts as lots of aggro these days.
-
I've seen that. Embarrassing really, although it isn't the pavement dancing that the 11 were arrested at.
