Title: Rotterdam Remembered

Quote
Villa's European Cup-winning squad will be back together at our match against Swansea City later this month - to salute three players who missed out on the final against Bayern Munich.

Brendan Ormsby, Terry Donovan and Ivor Linton were all involved in games along the Road to Rotterdam but didn't make the 16-man squad for the final.

That meant they didn't receive winner's medals - but 33 years on, that situation is about to be rectified.

Excellent news. If they're giving out medals to people who were involved in the earlier rounds, but not the Final, would Saunders not be eligible for one too?

Great news, spent an evening in the company of Terry watching a Grimsby match last season and he's a lovely bloke who is still very fond of Villa. He said since Lerner bought the club he's always made the squad of '82 very welcome at Villa Park.

It's a bit John Terry in his kit on the pitch if you ask me.

Nice for them but will they really think they deserved it?

Terry Donovan scored a couple of goals early on, so probably deserves something.

And he has a rather attractive daughter, so deserves something there too!

a more interesting thought, is would he accept a medal, I wonder? My guess is he wouldn't

Another Villa record for that squad- that many 50 somethings together and only one potential beer belly! When I get together with my Rotterdam veterans it's very different story ........! :)

Hopefully when the witton end stand (it's always been the witton end) gets knocked down surely it can be renamed after him.

One of Tony Barton's sons - Chris I think. I think the 3rd from right is Rimmer as well.

Easy to spot him if you've seen the '81 season DVD that came out the other year.

Any idea why Gary Shaw, Des Bremner and Nigel Spink didn't attend?
