1. Painful to witness. Again.

2. I like Sherwood but I think even his biggest fan would admit he was a massive gamble. It will turn out to be a masterstroke or suicide. I wanted Pulis as our manager to replace Lambert before he went to Palace. Some people on here said some jolly rude things to me about that at the time.

3. I think De Matteo, Hodgson and Pulis were very good appointments. Clarke looked worth a shot. Mel seemed a big gamble. There does seem to be a 'short-termism' with managers and players contracts.

4. Heart says yes. Head says not convinced.

5. Not so much a moment but the 4-3 on the first day in '83 was great. Also my first trip to The Hawthorns in the Milk Cup (same season, I think) when Clive Thomas sent off Gary Owen and we won 2-1.

6. Honestly? F**k knows! I would take the three points out of the two. Neither Villa nor Albion will win the cup.

7. Oh, there is no seven.

7. Fuck the Albion (there is always a 7th)

1. Numbing
2.Pulis is the right man for you for now . Sherwood could be the right man for us in the future, but he might not get there.
3.As a reference point whenever I need to direct people to the 74 bus.
4.By the skin of our teeth and cosmic intervention.
5.I always enjoy a Brendan Batson back pass.
6.The honours (if that describes two lowly clubs) will be shared.

1. There hasn't been a joyful moment all season - even the adrenalin buzz of Paul Lambert getting the sack didn't last, because of the shit we now find ourselves in. Up until he went it was, in all honesty, hell. But now he's gone, it doesn't look like being much better. Certainly the worst time to be a Villa fan I can claim to remember.

2. I am as underwhelmed as it's possible to be with the appointment of Sherwood, but he's here now and although he has a chance of keeping us up, it would be a miracle if he manages it. The rot goes to the roots of the club and he's the wrong appointment. Pulis is exactly what Albion needed but not at all what they wanted. It may be sour grapes that he's got you organised and confident, but I'll be watching with some interest how long it takes the purists of Sandwell to revolt at his big-dumplings-with-whining-winger sauce recipe.

3. Many would say deluded, but most Baggies fans I know aren't exactly convinced of their top level station. However, there's a fair proportion that confirm to the idea that it's all about besting Villa and not doing the obvious thing, which is to not care a jot what we're like compared to you. History will always be on Villa's side, and it drives you lot mad. My one main gripe is maybe you should learn to walk before you can run - Peace is an excellent chairman and you're not Real Madrid.

4. It would be an outstanding turnaround if we do stay up. Possible, but I wouldn't put a wooden halfpenny on it.

5. The 4-0 in the Cup in 1998. Others go back a lot further with the club, but I remember the atmosphere that day being fantastic.

6. I have zero confidence in Villa to win anything right now. My heart tells me there will have to be a reaction from Sherwood's input sometime and if he can't get them fired up for games like these then he may as well quit now. But my head says that honours will be even, and whoever wins the first will lose the second.

3. How would you describe West Bromwich Albion football club? A festering turd hanging like a clinker off a tramp's beard.

4. Will Aston Villa be in the Premier League next year? I think the question should be, is the premier league good enough for Aston Villa?

5. What is your favourite Aston Villa versus West Bromwich Albion moment? Tomorrow night's game. I think our fourth goal was the best.

1. What have you made of Aston Villa's season so far? Unsurprisingly sh*t

2. What are your thoughts on the appointment of Tim Sherwood & Tony Pulis? The only positive Sherwood brought was that he wasnt Lambert, wont be at the club in 12 months. Pulis was a solid appointment but a strange one for a club that were so anti his Stoke side

1. What have you made of Aston Villa's season so far?

Worse than Hitler.

2. What are your thoughts on the appointment of Tim Sherwood & Tony Pulis?

Underwhelmed, uninterested.

3. How would you describe West Bromwich Albion football club?

A side who, for some reason, seem content to obsess with their bigger local rivals. I suspect you'll be more excited if Villa go down than you were last time you got promoted which is fairly sad for a club who, unlike our other local "rivals", have actually got a decent history.

4. Will Aston Villa be in the Premier League next year?

No.

5. What is your favourite Aston Villa versus West Bromwich Albion moment?

Maybe the late Hitlzsperger winner as a late decisive goal is always fun. The four-nil cup game was enjoyable but as we were red-hot favourites to win, no individual moment stood out.

6. Who will win both the league and cup match in this upcoming week?

Not sure. One of the Greater Birmingham clubs.

. What have you made of Aston Villa's season so far?  Dreadful, can't believe that we're not cut adrift tbh. Scoring just 13 goals is a disgrace quite frankly.

2. What are your thoughts on the appointment of Tim Sherwood & Tony Pulis?  You did better unfortunately, also the timing of the appointments (regarding the transfer window) shows how engaged our respective Boardrooms are with our positions.

3. How would you describe West Bromwich Albion football club? A traditional club, our greatest historical rival but I just don't have the same animosity for you as I do Blose, but maybe that's because I grew up in South Bham. I also find your fans a sanctimonious bunch, a bit like the Geordies are and we all laugh at them.  But basically, you seem far more obsessed with us than we'll ever be about you.

4. Will Aston Villa be in the Premier League next year? My heart says yes, my head says probably not.  We can't score!

5. What is your favourite Aston Villa versus West Bromwich Albion moment? Daley's winner in the Cup in 1990. Great moment, great atmosphere, we were absolutely flying at the time.

6. Who will win both the league and cup match in this upcoming week?  Two draws with you lot winning the replay.  We need wins though now.

1. What have you made of Aston Villa's season so far?

Like being stuck in a perpetual ground hog day.

2. What are your thoughts on the appointment of Tim Sherwood & Tony Pulis?

Sherwood has a lot of potential but the ego and situation may stop him reaching it. Pulis I was just happy not to have at Villa. Any bloke who rushes from his mothers death bed to milk the applause at Stoke to turn a game against us is a wrong un. And he is a wrong un. Albion have jumped in bed with a bloke 18 months ago not 1 Albion fan I know would have pissed on if he was on fire, now he is the mesiah. And we are the fickle ones.

3. How would you describe West Bromwich Albion football club?

Never understand the fans obsession with Villa. We don't ever sing about Albion outside of the games with you, yet your lot can't wait to trott out the ever so original shit on the ..... Why? When did the inferiority complex start? And you can't deny Albion fans have that with Villa, as we are the club, with the history, the stadium, the stature that Albion fans think that you have. Realism is you are a small side doing well to stay up, and making a better job of it than us so fair play, but drop the stupid obsession, you are largely irrelevant to Villa fans.

4. Will Aston Villa be in the Premier League next year?

No.

5. What is your favourite Aston Villa versus West Bromwich Albion moment?

Simon Grayson bosh.... my mum was in hospital and quite poorly but felt better that day so I went to the game. That was a good day.

6. Who will win both the league and cup match in this upcoming week?

Probably Albion, but I have lost the will to give a shit, so it is pretty pointless to taunt fans who no longer give a shit. Enjoy your day in the sun. This is as good as it gets for Albion it would seem. Tony Pulis is what you have to live with.

1. Depressing.

2. Sherwood - meh (hope to be proved wrong). Pullis - annoyed (would have done well for us, had we sacked Lambert earlier). Neither good for the long run though.

3. Decent well run local club. Not as bi as Villa, never will be. But, a decent club with loyal fans. Have never had the hatred I feel for Birmingham city, and wish them well (so long as they stay below us). Used to watch them when Villa were away back in the day.

4. Heart says yes, head is very worried. On balance think and hope we will scrape it.

5. Daley goal in 1990.

6. Us of course. Season will turn around when we stuff you twice.

I don't remember us as red hot favourites as we were struggling at the time. They really fancied their chances in the run up and were giving it the big 'un. And then we smashed them a piece of piss. Anyone remember their fat twat with his shirt off in the Witton Lane? All bouncing around giving it the hand gestures at the start before vanishing as the goals went in and The Holte sang "Tango, what's the score" at him.

1. What have you made of Aston Villa's season so far? I've been a little bit disappointed to be honest

2. What are your thoughts on the appointment of Tim Sherwood & Tony Pulis? They can both count themselves very fortunate the decent managers already had jobs at the time.

3. How would you describe West Bromwich Albion football club? Bolton Wanderers

4. Will Aston Villa be in the Premier League next year? Possibly only during the latter half of the year

5. What is your favourite Aston Villa versus West Bromwich Albion moment? The 1887 cup final at Kennington Oval. We travelled down on a barge and one of my kids fell overboard.

6. Who will win both the league and cup match in this upcoming week? They could both be goalless. I'm really looking forward to the excitement.

Cheers for your time

1. What have you made of Aston Villa's season so far?
Absolute toss. I didn't think a regression was possible from last season but it's happened. We didn't exactly set the world alight with signings, but we brought in more experience which has had no effect at all. Young and hungry, or been there and done that. It's been no different under Lambert. The result is always the same. No discernible game plan.

2. What are your thoughts on the appointment of Tim Sherwood & Tony Pulis?
I quite like Sherwoods frankness. Is he the right man? I'm not convinced either way. We should have canned Lambert months ago and gone for Pulis. I think we're seeing just what he can offer. You lot looked dead and buried under Irvine. Now you'll finish comfortably lower mid-table and probably progress next season.

3. How would you describe West Bromwich Albion football club?
Not always the most stable club. Often some strange decisions made (Irvine) but Pulis was a good call and you'll get a couple of years of stability. I think generally Baggies fans are more obsessed with what the Villa are doing than vice versa. Even when you're ahead of us in the pecking order you act like the smaller club, if I'm being honest.

4. Will Aston Villa be in the Premier League next year?
Flip a coin. I think it's 50/50.

5. What is your favourite Aston Villa versus West Bromwich Albion moment?
I think it was the 2-2 last season. We were 2-0 down and absolutely bloody awful. You were loving it, and we then snatched a couple of goals to ruin your day. Other than that a few Agbonlahor inspired wins in recent years.

6. Who will win both the league and cup match in this upcoming week?
I think we've more chance winning the cup match. The pressures off us a little. We can't hack it in the league right now. I'd snatch the hand off anyone offering a draw.

1. What have you made of Aston Villa's season so far?

FI$*_R*DRgHUDGOEI$£+_)$^%$*FHSG&G$V)SJ

2. What are your thoughts on the appointment of Tim Sherwood & Tony Pulis?

If you swap round the timings of the sackings, and swap round the replacements, I think you can swap our league positions too.

3. How would you describe West Bromwich Albion football club?

Maybe this is because I live outside the region now, but I never had the animus towards Baggies which some on here have (and have expressed hilariously well). I also have Baggie relatives, whereas I have no Blues relatives. When Blues won the League Cup it ruined my day - when Baggies stayed up dramatically that time I was mildly pleased.

4. Will Aston Villa be in the Premier League next year?

Yes. Oh the men's Premier League? Oh right, then no.

5. What is your favourite Aston Villa versus West Bromwich Albion moment?

Literally any win. We sometimes have decent games, but the funny moments don't happen as much between us as they do in other derbies.

6. Who will win both the league and cup match in this upcoming week?

I can't shake the impression that we'll either win both or lose both. Probably a draw tonight, then.

Would you mind answering these questions for our forum www.westbrom.com? A link with your answers will be provided on this forum on Wednesday.

1. What have you made of Aston Villa's season so far?

About as painful as expected, with even less goals than I expected.

2. What are your thoughts on the appointment of Tim Sherwood & Tony Pulis?

Tim Sherwood was appointed as we could get him straight away, can't blame him if he doesn't keep us up. I wasn't thrilled by the appointment though. That said I couldn't think of any available manager that I really wanted either. Knew Pulis would pick you up, he always organises well and makes teams hard to beat. His football isn't pretty, but he does the job.

3. How would you describe West Bromwich Albion football club?

Technically local rivals, but they don't feel like it. There's not the aggro you get from Bluenoses. Had a great history and a few spells in the 1960s and 1970s, but after that a bit of a yo-yo club.

4. Will Aston Villa be in the Premier League next year?

Odds against us I think.

5. What is your favourite Aston Villa versus West Bromwich Albion moment?

I think the home win after being 2-0 down last year was the best, maybe Delph's goal for the individual moment though.

6. Who will win both the league and cup match in this upcoming week?

Can see it being a draw tonight and I'll go for us to edge it in the Cup.

Cheers for your time

Liam

1. What have you made of Aston Villa's season so far? A lot worse than I expected.

2. What are your thoughts on the appointment of Tim Sherwood & Tony Pulis? Sherwood has a bit too much to say, needs to get his team's football doing the talking. Pulis is a great appointment for any bottom half team. A few Villa fans turned their nose up when he was available, but he doesn't do relegation, Sherwood might well.

3. How would you describe West Bromwich Albion football club? Started to dislike them a bit more in the last 4-5 years, before that wasn't bothered by them at all.

4. Will Aston Villa be in the Premier League next year? 60/40 against us.

5. What is your favourite Aston Villa versus West Bromwich Albion moment? Equalising from 2-0 down a couple of seasons back.

6. Who will win both the league and cup match in this upcoming week? Both win one, dunno which way round. We need to win the league game more.

When composing your answers, most of you seem to be forgetting that Albion supporters can only understand words of no more than one syllable.

1. What have you made of Aston Villa's season so far?
Woeful. I've lost count of the number of times I've thought that we should now pick up a few points and everything will look better, only to see things get worse. It's the result of years of deliberately financially shrinking the club, though. It's not something that has happened by chance. We should have picked up more points over Christmas, while Hull was the real turning point, for me.

2. What are your thoughts on the appointment of Tim Sherwood & Tony Pulis?
Pulis is a good appointment. We all know what he does and he'll have you mid-table for a while. Who knows with Sherwood. If he keeps us up, we could be reasonably well set. He'll certainly have a groundswell of support.

3. How would you describe West Bromwich Albion football club?
I've got nothing against the Albion. I was one of the few Villa fans at a school just outside of Wolverhampton and one of my best mates was - and still is - a Baggies fan. We were forced into a kind of self-preservation alliance. Most of the other WBA supporters I've met have been really decent people, too.

4. Will Aston Villa be in the Premier League next year?
If we don't win tonight we are in big trouble. We are now down to our last few chances.

5. What is your favourite Aston Villa versus West Bromwich Albion moment?
I reckon it was seeing big Cyrille Regis pulling on the claret and blue.

6. Who will win both the league and cup match in this upcoming week?
The Villa. The alternative doesn't bear thinking about.

1. What have you made of Aston Villa's season so far?
There's been so many highlights I don't know which one to pick out.

2. What are your thoughts on the appointment of Tim Sherwood & Tony Pulis?
West Brom did the sensible thing to get Pulis. As others have said, I like some of what Sherwood says, but he does come across a bit John Gregory. Still, Gregory had us a lot higher up the league than we are now so maybe I shouldn't complain.

3. How would you describe West Bromwich Albion football club?
I've never really had too much against them, but they do seem to have an almight chip on their shoulder.

4. Will Aston Villa be in the Premier League next year?
I think we probably will be, but ultimately if we go down it will be thoroughly deserved.

5. What is your favourite Aston Villa versus West Bromwich Albion moment?
I enjoyed the mentalness of last year's 4-3 at Villa Park. (Did we really score four real goals in one match?!)

6. Who will win both the league and cup match in this upcoming week?
One each: not sure which way round.

We were struggling as but they were just as bad one league below. Once Taylor showed Sean Murphy (I think) who was boss in the 1st minute and Grayson sparked one in a couple of minutes later, the upstarts were well and truly put in their place.

1. What have you made of Aston Villa's season so far?

Tear inducing shit that has stunk out the whole league.
2. What are your thoughts on the appointment of Tim Sherwood & Tony Pulis?

Sherwood.  Not what we needed, but he might keep us up on enthusiasm alone.
Pulis - can't do better than this quote from Danish commentator at the final whistle tonight.  "Justice for football. You know what you're getting when you hire Pulis and it isn't pretty."

3. How would you describe West Bromwich Albion football club?
Sad and embittered. And the quicker you stop with that "We know what we are" bollocks the better.  The whole country knows what you are!

4. Will Aston Villa be in the Premier League next year?
50/50. which is better odds than 2 weeks ago.

5. What is your favourite Aston Villa versus West Bromwich Albion moment?
Brendon Batson helping us win the League.

6. Who will win both the league and cup match in this upcoming week?
Half way to the double.

Why do so many of you come on coaches from fucking Smethwick?

Away car park had a shit loads of coaches on it. As well as gobby twats being mouthy when behind a massive fucking metal fence. Small time twats.

Small Heath and Smethwick have a wonderful mutual anti Villa relationship that gets moody when they actually share a ground. A bit like the girlfriend you get on great with until you move in with her.

Where are all the sad f*cking w@nkers who sign up (on this site) a week before we  play them to post about the Villa. What's a matter, an albion site not good enough for them.  F*CKING KARMA !

Liam's been on here for yonks and is a top lad. Him and SendoWHU are good examples of visitors coming on and showing the right level of respect and a great attitude to reading taunts about their own club.

I think he's talking about the others that come on to see how fast they can get banned by hurling abuse at all and sundry.

As you say Liam is a good example of how to do it if you're going to go on another teams forum, you can actually have a sensible debate with him.

I don't know but I don't see the problem with it personally.

I know it kicked off down there though. There was Villa fans the other side of the fence with bottles, bricks, punches and cones being thrown from both sides I'm lead to believe.

I must admit, I was surprised at how long West Brom took over set pieces when they were behind. Still they scored from one, so I guess it worked.

8 shots to 1 on target, nice to have some justice with the late winner.

Just hope that we're as up for it on Saturday and that the Baggies are flat again.

I would imagine Pulis will have your lot playing very differently on Saturday - particularly when it comes to closing down the Villa players and pressing harder adn higher up the pitch.
Potentially a very different game ...

Yes. There is a running thread complaining about the stewarding and policing on Tuesday night.

No, you were right the first time - I was asking about the Villa responses. As for the stewarding and policing - I've no opinion - all I saw from the Trinity was someone being lead out at half time which lead me to ask what could someone possibly get up to at half time that would lead him to be lead out? Must have been angry with the sprinkler disrupting the half time challenge.

I don't want to be an arseholes Liam but how about one or two of us sign up for your forum?  Because if even half of what is being claimed is true then we would stand with you on it being unacceptable and use, for example, the clout of the Villa Supporters Trust to ensure no repetition.

What I dont get though is why on earth some seem to want to hold Villa responsible for WMP acting like wankers. And your guy who claims our stewards are Villa fans who use their position to dish it out to you lot, it simply isn't true.

Most of our stewards are shared between us and Blues for a start and great swathes of them are Noses that work for us because we treat them like proper employees, rather than cheap labour as they do down the road.

Fancy it tomorrow night with a few of us over your side to answer questions? If the authorities have fucked up we need to stand as one.

Yeah, still couldn't give a shit about them. Bless them they're confusing our first win in 7, that lifts us out of the bottom 3, with a spot kick in the last second, against a club who are a more local Coventry, that we really care about them. If we lose on Saturday it will irk me that it's a derby and that it will mean so much more to them because it's us, but more because we we will have fucked up another attempt at lifting the FA Cup after getting so close again.

If it's criticism, then by the standard of my Chelsea response, then I guess that's fair. But I can't hold the Albion in contempt, they're just not worthy of it. They're not the Noses and they're not as lamentable as Chelsea. I do like beating them though.

I get the feeling that for some people the actual football gets in the way of what they really want to do; which is get pissed, shout obscenities and act hard, all whilst safely separated by a fence / cordon of stewards from another bunch of idiots doing the same thing

I've been more heavily pissed at away games this season and yes it's entirely down to the football, it's very upsetting.

However I haven't thrown a punch in anger at anyone since around 1980 when I was a child so the beer hasnt been invented yet that would make me violent. I'm more a 'sleeper' when drunk.

I remember going to a Wigan v Man City match on Boxing Day about 10 years ago with my brother in law and a load of his mates who were all rugby fans with no interest in football. It was a belting game, 4-3 to Wigan but they were fascinated by a large section of the City support who spent the entire game goading the Wigan supporters nearest to them and barely watching any of the match. They struggled to understand why they didn't just stay in the pub and spend whatever their ticket cost at the bar.
