I had a funny feeling this thread wasn't going to cheer me up.

Nothing we didn't already know. We are utterly hopeless.

The beauty of this is that its undefendable. Why dont the media raise this record when interviewing Lambert. I think we are so shit they really dont care

To be fair, there are a staggering array of facts and figures that whichever ones you choose and however you present them all equate to us being not very good at all.

Pick any amount of games. Last 10, last 20, last 50, last 100 and they are all shit.

It's going to turn around very soon, look what he said just over two years ago.

Of course they don't care.  Why should they make it their personal crusade to highlight such things when it will - in the future - make their access to managers and players for more difficult?  Ultimately they need the oxygen provided by the clubs for their careers to prosper.

It took him nearly 3 years to find a decent fullback.

24 in the last 38 games is likely to be more than Villa get in the actual 38 games of this season.

You know its going to end on the last day of the season Villa v Burnley, who wins, stays up.

I honestly think we'll be down before then. I'm sticking to my prediction of 19th.

When you see all the stats its amazing that lerner and fox genuinely believe that Lambert's going to turn the club around.

But you admit he got that right in the end. I say give him a ten year contract. ;)

It's been happening since he took over. Who'd have thought he'd still be here humiliating us more than 2 years after that horrible 8-0 at Chelsea. It's the stuff of nightmares.

You think someone will finish below us. I said weeks ago when this goalscoring problem really started to come to the fore that if PL was still in charge at the end of January then we would be relegated finishing bottom.

Unfortunately I'm feeling pretty confident in my prediction.]

It's ridiculous.

No other club would keep him after that record.

I've got no idea who would want to come and manage us, but whoever it would be would find it incredibly hard to do worse than that.

Why is he still manager?!?!?!

If the season ran from January to December, Villa would have been relegated by now.

Because the chairman doesn't give a shit about Aston Villa.

I am amazed there has been no mention that its been the second time this season we have gone 5 games without a goal - as we did before the Spurs game.

Who's that then?
You mean the one he bombed out when he first came?

We could easily be effectively down by the end of March. That's how serious and present the danger is.

Hull, Leicester, Burnley and QPR aare going to go on such a run, that we will be relegated in the next 7 games?

Turn it in.

Forget the others, look at the fixtures and worry about our own form . April is largely a write off with 3 of the 4 games absolute no hopers .

You suggested we'd be down by the end of March and I asked you how that will happen in the next 7 games. That would involve the sides who have some how conspired to be actually poorer than us this season suddenly all hitting title form.

I'm aware of our form and the dangerous predicament we currently seem to be in but I've been hearing these doomsday type predictions/scenarios get trotted out in situations like this for the past three years.  If there is one thing the past few seasons  have taught me it is things never pan out in the way we might think or expect.  We could just as easily and effectively not be down by the end of March...we might even be mid-table and on a cup run.

Yes but it's the hope that kills you.

Did it kill you that we didn't lose to Bournemouth as you'd hoped?

Hope doesn't kill you.  On the contrary, hope is what keeps you alive.  It's the complete absence of hope that is the killer.

nope because I hope to win every match. It's only if we don't that I hope for some beneficial consequences such as our hopeless manager being sacked.
