Can't see this anywhere else.  Difficult to disagree with a word of it.

Yep - just read it and can't disagree with any of it.

Someone else must have written it  :D

Going forward we are definitely embarrassing. At least it's being picked up on now.

Absolutely disgusted with myself for saying it but Savage is on the money there, I cant disagree with any of it. Now if you will excuse me, im going for a bleach bath.....

The only thing I disagree with there is the bit where he says Lambert is honest. I've never heard Lambert hold his hands up and say, 'it was my fault, we were awful.'

Savage is an aggregator none of his thoughts are his own. In real life I imagine him to be quite thoughtful and considered. In his media job he takes what a lot of other people are saying and spits it out in a bloke down the pub, talking common sense like, manner. What has been obvious to us for some time is now recognised nationally and Savage in his own unique style is parroting it back.

If I can pick holes in it, then I disagree with him that Sanchez hasn't made a difference.  He has in terms of us being more solid and robust at the back, but he's not a creative player.  I disagree to a point over Cleverley too - he said he thought he'd make a difference, but the majority of us knew otherwise.

Also disagree that we need Vlaar to be fit. Maybe in the last coupld of seasons, but I think we've coped well this season when he's been out.

Other than that, a lot of what he says is right.

Pretty much what nearly all of us are saying on here. That said, even if we lose on Sunday, I don't expect Lambert to get sacked. Diabolical way to run a football club.

You know something's wrong when Robbie Savage is the voice of reason. Even he can see it, Randolph. What's wrong with you?

Maybe we should approach him to be our assistant before anybody else spots his obvious potential.

yes but significantly not in the media; once print and broadcast outlets start to prod and probe a bit more things will get more uncomfortable for Mr No Pressure

"Carles Gil has been brought in to give them more guile, and he looked lively for half an hour on his debut against Liverpool on Saturday.

But he only managed two assists in 33 games for Elche in La Liga last season"

Shit I don't like the sound of that.

The thing that this illustrates is that if someone like Savage can see what we're like then it's blindingly obvious and our owner should be able to see it.

I don't agree that benteke is in diabolical form, he seems to get the majority of his chances on target. He's just not getting very many.

As for work rate - a lot say he's being a little lazy, I don't agree with that either.

He just looks frustrated.

I'm sure he can see it, but it's obvious he's washed his hands of us and is waiting to sell up and leave the managerial decisions to the new owner.
Hopefully in the meantime we stay in the league.

If anything we've been better at the back, we just need to turn draws into wins, other than that Savage is still a ******

I can. He says it looks like his prediction is finally going to come true, no it isn't you twat. You predicted us to go down 2 years ago, not this season, I can't go in to the bookies with a betting slip saying I predicted Villa to beat Chelsea 1-0 but 3 years ago and it's only now it's happened. He's just a rent a gob with a soppy perm, fuck the BBC for giving Sargent Gormless our license fee cash.

Hadn't seen the one that Benteke is actually getting more chances this season compared to the two previous ones.

He has missed a few, maybe not complete sitters, but decent opportunities all the same (West Ham, West Brom, Leicester)

I know Agbonlahor and Weimann are the usual targets, but the stats about Westwod, Sanchez and Cleverley show that the creativity problem just doesn't lie with them.  I still don't think we can play Sanchez and Westwood in the same midfield.  They are too similar to play in a three and Westwood isn't mobile enough to play in a two.
Title: Re: Savage talks sense!

In all honesty Westwood should be dropped now we have Sanchez playing well, but all managers have their favourites and Westwood is one of Lambert's.

Apart from Guzan, Sanchez would be the first name I'd have down on the team sheet. Right now, he's a joy to watch.

I think this is part of the problem with us at the moment. I like Sanchez a lot and he is easily our best and most consistent outfield player but I would much rather his contribution to the side went unnoticed as he was allowing more creative players to make a real difference.

Hopefully that will be the case with Delph and Gil doing their stuff leaving Sanchez to be the anchoring midfielder.

He's a young player coming in from warming the bench in a much different league and he's only been here a fortnight. Oh and he cost about 3mil. He's been asked to turn around our fortunes and create the chances to fire us back up the league table.....no pressure son, just go out an play....

I don't really know if there is that much pressure on him to create and score goals.  If he can simply get on the ball in the final third and keep us moving forward then I think he will make a massive difference.

The midfield point was the key one.  Schenz should be a good signing, but he is still finding his feet, and is more about keeping the ball, and protecting the back four.  Westwood and Cleverly are too simliar, and Cleverly is just woeful. There is not enough of a creative spark, and we need naturally wingers.  And a better partner for CB.  Besides that theres no problems ;D
