I am sure everyone sends best wishes to JG who is to undergo open heart surgery
Get well soon !
-
Just saw this on SSN and, as he was one of ours thought it deserved its own thread.
Get well soon John.
-
I'm too late, please remove.
-
Best wishes to John. An under-rated player for us in the 1970s and for all his faults he seemed to have a genuine affection for the Villa while he was manager.
-
All the best, villa man.
-
All the best JG.
-
Bloody hell just heard the news. Good luck to him, Villa man to the core.
-
probably a lot will disagree, but legend to me. As said above, he's a villa man.
All the best JG.
-
Only remember his coaching rather than his playing days, but he's still well liked by Villa supporters of my generation.
He sometimes gave big Ron a run for his money with the one liners!
(e.g.) christening Southgate "the ornament" for his lack of goals from attacking set pieces.
get well soon.
-
All the best John, a good 'un and no mistake.
-
Blimey, good luck JG
-
All the best JG.
-
Good luck John. A Villa man to the core
-
All the best John, and another former Villa man is temporally taking over at Crawley Dean Saunders.
-
Best wishes JG.
-
Best wishes JG - swift recovery
-
Best wishes. Speedy recovery John.
-
Get well soon JG. Top man
-
Get Well soon JG.
-
Good luck John. All the best.
-
But he looks so young and healthy.
-
After he got banned from the touchline to the Trinity Central and our results improved, and thereafter seemed to spend as much time between the two locations as he did in them, I thought this cannot be good for the chap's well-being.
I know that his departure having secured the Derby job did got go down well with certain sections of our support, but I thought it was understandable.
Best wishes for a full and swift recovery JG.

I don't know how anybody could argue with him taking the Derby job, a big job and not like he walked out on us

I think the assertion that was made by a very prominent member of this site was that JG had lined up the Derby job before he got the order of the boot.

Get well soon John
-
Turgid football at times, but unquestionably a Villa man through and through.
Best of luck John!
-
Get well soon John.
-
Best of luck JG, get well soon.
A good Villa man is JG.
-
Good luck JG.
-
His media presence certainly gave us more exposure than recent or current holders of the post.
Get fit soon JG....best of luck
-
I think everyone would agree he's a Villa man through and through, I wish him a speedy recovery.
-
Best of luck for a full recovery, JG.
-
All the best JG.
Through it all, a Villa man.
UTV!

Like Brian Little did when he joined us from Leicester I imagine.

Liked him as our player. Liked him as our Manager. Good luck John.

And maybe Ron Atkinson when he joined. And Billy McNeill. And Alex McLeish. And Paul Lambert.
