With a smile, for a change.

Agree with all of that.
The thing that has pissed me off / depressed me most over the last 18 months has been the impression that the players were being held back. No they're not the greatest squad in the world but they sure as hell are'nt as bad as they've appeared.
The bit at the end about mid-table being a welcome improvement, but nothing to brag about is absolutely spot on. After the last few years a season or two of mid-table obscurity will be a welcome relief. Maybe afterwards "we can go again"

Usual done.

We could be so much better with a younger fitter Joe Cole in the side, Benteke monsters defences all he needs is the service.
-
Can't argue with that Dave. A win on Saturday and we will pretty much be where most of us expected us to be by this time of the year.
-
Sums it up well. With a bit of luck we can kick on from here and I hope that going into the New Year, we are not in the position where we are constantly looking over our shoulder at the relegation zone after a defeat.

Good article as always.

Spot on Dave.
As you say, mid-table is nothing to boast about but I'd settle for that after the last few seasons. Barcelona can wait

Another good read Dave.

You know, I admit I'm heading into derby mode, but I read that as beating the bogeyes is nothing to boast about.
Which it isn't of course.

Good article. Hoping Gabby gets his derby day head on for Saturday.

Yeah solid read once again Dave. Good point on Vlaar too. If we get a decent offer for him in January we really should consider taking it. His injuries are becoming a bit of a problem, his form erratic and he would possible leave for nothing in the summer anyway.
