Cheers ozzjim, and cracking 20,109th post.
-
Come on boys.
-
If we win today, Oz, you do realise you'll have to carry on deleting every match thread 25 mintes before kick off?
Not that I'm superstitious or anything. Oh, no.
Where's the bloody Orange Dot?
***panic***
-
If we win today, Oz, you do realise you'll have to carry on deleting every match thread 25 mintes before kick off?
And move to the Lake District
-
Win please Villa, please. The team is about as good as we could expect.

Lose today and he better bloody stay there.

Was the team in the deleted thread?

Looking at skiddaw bathed in sunshine I could cope with that move. Too many bloody people up here though.

Erm... Feeling there is a lot pressure right now on me!

-
Great to see Sid in the dugout.
-
First five minutes crucial...
-
Hoof.
-
Fucking hell sliced open there.
-
We can't get hold of the ball. Carved open twice in 5 minutes. Not looking great.
-
I'd take a draw now.
-
This will be 4
-
And here was everybody saying easy 3 points! This is Paul Lambert's Aston Villa we are talking about here.
-
Pay close attention, Villa. This is how you pass a football.
-
This is embarrassing.
-
13% possession. It's a bit embarrassing at the moment.
-
Better.
-
Terrible so far, but Gabby's run showed we could be incisive if we got our act together.
-
Awful touch gabby. Awful
-
Not good enough, Gabby.
-
Useless from Gabby.
-
There's Gabby's contribution. He'll disappear now.
-
Poor touch by Gabby. We won't get many chances like that and have to take them.
And a shit touch by Bacuna as well
-
Our players seem to really struggle with their technique. So many desperately poor touches.
-
We just love giving it away, don't we?
-
Gabby just not good enough is he really.
-
Even the speed of Gabby wasn't there on that run. The defender caught him easily.
-
Oh look, there's Westwood. Forgot he was playing.
-
The basics don't seem to be right. At this level that's unforgivable.
-
Gabby will come good. Have faith
-
what formation are we playing? the same old 433?
-
It's pretty boring stuff, this.
-
Since the MON days I have always thought we waste a lot of energy chasing the ball instead of the player.
-
This is really bad, and really inexcusable. The fans have turned up optimistic, the sun is shining, a poison has supposedly been drawn and we can't pass the ball from one player to the next. No excuses at all.
-
afternoon
not too exciting so far
weimann lucky to start
-
This is really bad, and really inexcusable. The fans have turned up optimistic, the sun is shining, a poison has supposedly been drawn and we can't pass the ball from one player to the next. No excuses at all.
Surely you didn't expect any different!?
-
What a dreary affair.
-
Since the MON days I have always thought we waste a lot of energy chasing the ball instead of the player.
Since Barry left our ball retention has been shite. Milner covered up with a lot of energy for a season.
-
Is anybody else finding it difficult to pick out the difference between the two teams? Southampton's away kit is too much like our home.
-
Newcastle winning
-

Surely you didn't expect any different!?
I admit, I was hopeful for a bit more vigour and thrust in the team. Very misplaced optimism so far.
-
Why is Baker playing ahead of Clark?
-
Aimless hoof from Baker, I'm not sure if his defensive contribution is strong enough to make up for his complete lack of composure on the ball.
This is the first game I've watched live for a long while (have to work Saturdays) - is this average or worse than normal?
-
Luke Shaw is absolutely bossing Albrighton.
-

I certainly didn't
Good that Newcastle are winning
-

no
i just look at the team who cant pass to their own players
-
We're doing some lovely pressing, making their keeper hoof it.
Unfortunately it goes straight to Baker who returns it to them 100% of the time.
-

Its the same dismal shite that gets served up week after week after week.
-
Great afro in the crowd.
-
Luke Shaw is absolutely bossing Albrighton.
Far better player so hardly surprising
-
To be honest, it could be worse. I've seen us worse.
-
very much like a last game of the season
one team on 10th , the other on 11th
If only ....
-

I certainly didn't
Good that Newcastle are winning
I just like the way that everyone seemed to think we'd steamroller them just because we'd got rid of the two coaches. Lamberts still there :-( Lets give him another year! YAY!
-
Why is Baker playing ahead of Clark?
Don't think it makes much difference. They are both Championship players.
And Gabby is finished as a top league player.
-
I'll take a 0-0 right now.
-
We haven't had a shot yet have we?
-
We don't exactly look like a team desperately in need of points.
-

I think Clark's a better player than Baker. I used to be very critical of him, but I thought he'd showed good improvement in the early part of this season.

If they've got the ball, it's Southampton.
Makes a lot of sense.
-
has weiman touched it
-
We don't exactly look like a team desperately in need of points.
True Southampton have so much time in midfield especially.
-
Fookin hell. I forget how bad we are sometimes.
-
Luke Shaw is absolutely bossing Albrighton.
Far better player so hardly surprising
Absolutely. Just shows what our level is now which is very sad.
-
Ref doing his best to not book any of our players
-
True - but their not doing much with it.
Come on boys!!!

-
Albrighton has been really lightweight.
-
ffs we are shite
-
What the fuck sort of defending was that.
Good save Guzan. Looked to be a certain 1-0.
-
Lovely flowing move there. Not by Villa, obviously.
Brilliant save.
-
Fucking lucky there. It's like the Southampton striker felt sorry for us and gave Guzan the best chance he could to save it.
-
We're giving them an unbelievable amount of space. It's quite incredible how we do that.
-
Great stop brad
-
This is really baaaddddd.
Zzzzzzz
-
I know a lot is not happening right now and he probably isn't everyone's favourite players but KEA does add a little bite and grit to the midfield.
I hate stats but don't they show with KEA we don't lose as many games?
-
Great save Brad. Where would we be without him? Rhetorical question.
-
Original mistake was by Guzan though - Baker ducked out of the header and must have had a shout.
-
Diving bastard
-
Great save. We should be three nil down by now. What a shambles.
-
Weimann just touched the ball
-
We're being completely dominated here.
-
Watched Fulham earlier. They lost but they gave it a go. This is appalling.
-
Latest report here from villa park. This is worse than dreadful. I can see the lion warming up on the sidelines. I'd bring him on for baker.
-
Southampton are on holiday....so are we by the looks of things.
-
Same old same old.
-
How many time have our players, under minimal pressure, hoiked the ball straight out of play?
-
This is mind-numbingly tedious. On the rare occasions every 5 minutes when we get possession, we look to go long. We play like Stoke under Pulis, except they were actually able to make it work, whereas we are too shite even to master crap, cynical football.
If anyone reading this is at the game, can they please try to start a chant of "You're just a shit Tony Pulis" in Lambert's general direction? Thanks.
-
Its all about positive movement in the right spaces off the ball.
Something we don't know how to do.
-
I don't think we're ever going to score again
-
Holte End getting restless apparently.....
-
So poor. Weimann and Agbonlahor invisible and our midfield cannot pass. Delph just put it out for a throw-in without being under pressure.
Where is the energy ???
-
Frank Bough was dominated less than this
-
There could be 3 balls on the pitch, we still wouldn't get a kick.
-
Has there been any match at home this season where we haven't even a had shot before half-time? 35 mins in, nothing on or off target.
-

'You're just shit' would do because he surely is - shit, incoherent and thick. As always
-
We are a f**king shambles. Misplaced passes. Terrible first touches. Hoofing without even looking. There is no doubt we have gone backwards.
-
Weimann just touched the ball
hes own I reckon
-

This.
If this is our display after a buoyant week of training and 'energy' then god help us
Just stay up so the takeover can happen and lambert gets binned.
-
...and this is our good half!!!
-
Wanyama very fortunate to not be booked
-
We might as well come out for the second half in gimp suits.
-
At last, an attack
-
cardiff needed the pts last week against these and got it
I thought we would be lifted and really go for it today
come on villa ffs
-
That was better!
-
Hoof!
-
I'm sure Westwood is wearing the old school Adidas Predators....
-
Another wasted corner.
-
Interesting that nothing has actually changed on the pitch... I don't really know what that proves?
-
I just saw Weimann on the pitch at the corner. Didn't even know he was playing and I've watched 39 minutes.
-
Baker for flick on.... Heads straight out of play. Fuck me we are dire.
-
I know a lot is not happening right now and he probably isn't everyone's favourite players but KEA does add a little bite and grit to the midfield.
I hate stats but don't they show with KEA we don't lose as many games?
He brings balance to the side. In the same way that a Lidl Bulgarian chardonnay brings balance to a frozen cheese pasty.
-
So poor. Weimann and Agbonlahor invisible and our midfield cannot pass. Delph just put it out for a throw-in without being under pressure.
Where is the energy ???
those two are so bloody lucky they get to play prem games
championship players at the most
-
Terrible corner kick, what a waste. Baker at the near post variation...
-
Interesting that nothing has actually changed on the pitch... I don't really know what that proves?
That the players aren't good enough?
-
Why the fuck isn't Shaw off for that elbow?
-
Mr Potato Head's in the house.
-
Surely that was at least a booking
-
So poor. Weimann and Agbonlahor invisible and our midfield cannot pass. Delph just put it out for a throw-in without being under pressure.
Where is the energy ???

Agbonlahor does not even look like trying these days
-
That's two of our players that have been smashed in the face so far and no cards from the ref.
-

Getting stick off the Holte apparently. Sad times.
-
I would of played Tonev instead of Weimann. I know his shots hit the sun but I would rather see a shot than nothing.
-
What's the point of having a plan to cross it at first opportunity if you've specifically not selected the target man striker in the squad? I'm not Holt's biggest fan but for Christ's sake, have some tactical consistency.
-
Interesting that nothing has actually changed on the pitch... I don't really know what that proves?
That the players aren't good enough?
Most of them are not good enough to be Premiership starters. Delph, Vlaar and Guzan are, the rest aren't.
-
He brings balance to the side. In the same way that a Lidl Bulgarian chardonnay brings balance to a frozen cheese pasty.
Arf!
-
no one to pass to there
-
Gabby is utterly useless
-
Great move, Villa. Well played.
-
We need to sign Bertrand....he is our only creator
-
first close call 44th min
soton playing two gears down today
-
World class giving-the-ball-away there from Villa.
-
Has Gaby got the wrong boots on ?
-
55 points from the last 55 home games. That covers the last 3 seasons. Utterly woeful.
Just heard that on the beeb.
-
Great ball from Albrighton.
-
Great ball by Albrighton
-
Robinson and Holt for Weimann and Gabby for me
-
Albrighton and Bertrand are playing well.
-
great cross marc - shame robinson wasnt in the box
-
Albrighton did well there, great cross.
-
Weimanns actually made some pretty good runs into space. He's not been picked out. KEA isn't having a bad game. Err that's about it.
-
Has Gaby got the wrong boots on ?
He's got the right boots, but he's put them on the wrong feet.
-
45 minutes of shit then 1 minute of passable football.
Best half we've had in months.
-
We're not losing, and we started to put some moves together towards the end.
Still, it's been pretty dismal other than that.
-
I'd really like to see Robinson on but we won't. There's such a lack of creativity in the squad.
-
Dismal right up until the last two minutes, when we were back to our dreary best.
-
great cross marc - shame robinson wasnt in the box
I'd rather Mark Lillis was playing up front than those pair
-
I can't have the sound on, were there half time boos?
-
Albrighton and Bertrand are playing well.
Was just about to type that.
-
We're not losing, and we started to put some moves together towards the end.
Still, it's been pretty dismal other than that.
As positive as possible - the difference between the two teams was vast. Soton play and work as a team, we are completely individual, apart from those few moments at the end.
-
Awful start, reasonable finish to the half. Albrighton is the only one who looks like he might make something happen. Get Robinson on. Give the boy a go. See if he can surprise them.
The instant magic of SAS hasn't quite happened sadly. It's same old, same old really.
-
Swansea equalised
-
I'd really like to see Robinson on but we won't. There's such a lack of creativity in the squad.
We might now that Cowans is assisting. We have to try something.
-

Getting stick off the Holte apparently. Sad times.
well he normally blames the manager at the time , so I was expecting a game off him today , bloody rubbish
I think Lambert should have gave the crowd a lift today and put in Robinson , drop either weiman or gabby .
It might have shown things are going to change
that first half is just the same old shite as normal
-
I can't have the sound on, were there half time boos?
No in fact we cheered then based on last 10 mins.
-
I can't have the sound on, were there half time boos?
Don't think so, but all is not well on the Holte End according to the gf.
-
I'd be tempted to get Robinson and Tonev on. Sacrifice Gabby and Weimann who both look bloody awful today.
-
Agbonlahor doesn't even have his pace anymore. He's never been the most gifted player, but without his main threat it makes him look very, very ordinary.
-
I'd be tempted to get Robinson and Tonev on. Sacrifice Gabby and Weimann who both look bloody awful today.
Weimann has been almost completely anonymous. We've not done too much in Southampton's half though either.
-
Just got in. How are we doing? Instant improvement or same old same old?
-
Albrighton put 3-4 really good crosses in, a striker in anything approaching decent form would've scored at least 1. We've not been great but I don't think there was much between the sides, they keep the ball well but the final ball is still a 50/50 cross or lump over the top. I'm also yet to see Anything from Luke Shaw to deserve the amount of attention he's had, if he wasn't so quick he'd not be close to good enough to be linked with the moves he has been, his technical ability is very average.
-
Stoke scored, Millwall winning!
-
Just got in. How are we doing? Instant improvement or same old same old?
The latter. Positive is that its still 0-0. Albrighton, El Ahmadi, Bertrand and Bacuna are doing ok.
-

He should have been carded as well; Albrighton nutmegged him and got an elbow to the jaw for his efforts.

Disagree about Shaw - I think he's very comfortable on the ball, good vision, decent in tight areas.
-
lets hope Lambert fucks off for the HT talk and lets Sid do it
Tonev ( I know ) and Robinson for me - Weimann and Gabby to fook off and pick up their wages again for that shite
we need to have a go at least
Soton reaally are for the taking , anyone else but Villa would beat them today , even Fulham or Norwich
-
Just got in. How are we doing? Instant improvement or same old same old?
The latter. Positive is that its still 0-0. Albrighton, El Ahmadi, Bertrand and Bacuna are doing ok.
Cheers for that Stu.
-
I think Shaw looks very very good.
-
We're getting lots of joy down the outside and they have nothing to cross to. The system is built on having someone big in the middle. Weimann and Gabby aren't exactly the biggest or best targets for our full backs and wingers to aim at.
-
Guzan making one save. For all their possession, sounds as if Southampton aren't making the most of it. Our guys must be freezing them out.
Wonder if we will change anybody at half time?
-
I think Shaw looks very very good.
shaw Taylor would look good against Villa
-
Well I think a decision is going to have to be made at some point ..Weimann off for Holt ,moving gabby wide to try and get some better holding up of the ball or Robinson/Tonev on to play wide and use pace.
-
Guzan making one save. For all their possession, sounds as if Southampton aren't making the most of it. Our guys must be freezing them out.
Wonder if we will change anybody at half time?
does lambert ever make a change at HT
lets hope he does
-
'I don't want Aston Villa fans waiting for 40 minutes for a shot at goal.' No we will go 45 minutes and counting instead Paul.
-
Guzan making one save. For all their possession, sounds as if Southampton aren't making the most of it. Our guys must be freezing them out.
Wonder if we will change anybody at half time?
We won't change anybody until we go a goal behind, and then it'll be the wrong change.
-
Weiman has been played out of position all season, he's not a winger either play him as a centre forward or take him off. Agree about gabby bloody awful and the less said about Baker the better.
-
Well I think a decision is going to have to be made at some point ..Weimann off for Holt ,moving gabby wide to try and get some better holding up of the ball or Robinson/Tonev on to play wide and use pace.
Holt would at least offer a different out ball, and may have got on the end of one of those crosses from Albrighton.
-
how can it get to the point where we are 3-1 to win at home against Southampton (and we are not even losing yet)
-
While the score is 0-0 Lambert won't change anything even if we are being outplayed.
-
hes made a change ;)
spearmint chewy for peppermint
-
No changes. And hoof.
-
Fucking come on Villa.
-
Fucking come on Villa.
echo that
-
Better half to come. Fulham lost. Cardiff losing.
#positiveatthevilla
-
43 goals in 36 home games
-
crap shot fron El Amadi
-
A shot!
-
Decent from El Ahmadi, and then a foul throw from Weimann.
-
While the score is 0-0 Lambert won't change anything even if we are being outplayed.
And that's the sad thing about Lambert. He won't change anything until we go one down.
-
panic hooof panic hoof. positive postion, give it away
-
Corner. Come on, lads.
-
This is better.
-
How can a professional footballer not know how to take a throw in properly? How is that possible?
-
KEA having a good game.
-
KEA having a good game.
Agree, even if it is only in comparison with the rest of the team. Covering a lot of ground and trying to effect the game.
-
Good tackle, Vlaar.
-
Shot, corner, this sounds better.
(Everything crossed)
-
soton sitter missed lliana of all people
-
Lucky, Vlaar just did enough to put him off
-
Blimey, we got away with that.
-
The should have scored then.
-
Riding our luck now.
-
Lucky, Vlaar just did enough to put him off
Keep it up
-
That was a fucking dive, lino, you miserable twat.
-
one plus about this situation, Randy must be crapping himself if he has a £200 million sale in the balance
-
Cardiff have equalised, we really need a point at least today.
-
They play some good stuff.
-
Cardiff have equalised, we really need a point at least today.
fucking 2-1
peter fucking wehittingham
-
Simple inventive play up front for Southampton. Come on villa it doesn't look too difficult.
-
Nope Cardiff still 1-1 thankfully
-
Gabby really has had a poor game - ball bouncing off him, not held it up all game.
-
Can't get hold of the ball now.
To be honest, it looks like both teams have their feet up. Fair enough from Southampton, but it's criminal from us.
Free kick, and finally a yellow for a Southampton player.
-
Nope Cardiff still 1-1 thankfully
skybet fucked up! phewwww
-
Palace winning
-
good effort marc
-
Nice try Albrighton
-
Again Albrighton doing it all on his own.
-
We need to get the ball.
-
Total crap from Westwood.
-
What the fuck was that, Westwood?
-
We're finally showing some urgency, no need to gift them the ball like that.
-
Albrighton is playing really well again.
-
That was borderline.
-
I don't know what's uglier, Steve Bruce or this game.
-
Make a change Lambert. Robinson for Gabby who's been shit.
I know it won't happen though until we're behind and even then it will be Holt.
-
That sums us up, throw in in their half ends up being passed back to Guzan.
-
Anybody warming up for us?
-
One day, in the future, we'll take a quick throw in instead of letting the opposition compose themselves.
Free kick, Shaw in the book, and really, that should be his second yellow. Albrighton has done him a few times today.
-
Deserved yellow, more good play from Marc.
-
Good free kick, but our tiny players can't get anywhere near it.
-
Albrighton is doing well now, we need more energy from the rest of the side.
-
We're asking for it.
-
vlaar with good block
-
Bacuna is not a right back.
-
Moyes in a waistcoat looks ridiculous.
-
That booking for Shaw sums up why i don't think he's the player the press are making out, he's been made to look a mug by super marc a few times today and could easily have been sent off by now.
-
Weimann needs to stop pissing and moaning at the ref and start trying to play football.
-
the midweek changes weren't going to fix the various problems that we have but I honestly thought there would be come extra zip and especially against a side with nothing at all to play for. I really wanted Lambert to work out, but this is overall so desperate. Change might just be what everyone needs at the end of the season.
-
Fucks sake, no one attacking the crosses Albrighton is whipping in. Benteke would be having a field day today. If we're going for that type of game, why isn't Holt on?
-
Really need to make a change or 2 up front, it's just not working at all, we're looking pretty good on the rest of the pitch but nothing is sticking and neither of them is doing enough to attack the ball in the box. Robinson and Holt on for me.
-
we are as bad as man united at home
-
gabby that was poor ffs
-
Yeah, fresh legs needed I reckon.
Albrighton's efforts are being wasted.
-
is lambert playing for a draw ?

Bizarre that Gabby and Weimann are still both on the pitch.
-
Another good cross but nobody on the end of it. If Gabby still had his pace he could have got to that.
-
Just one goal will win this for us. Come on villa
-
If I was Albrighton, I wouldn't even bother putting crosses in. Just cut inside and shoot, cos no fecker is going to get on the end of em! Woeful from Gabby and Whinemann - Get Holt AND Robinson on now!
-
Holt coming on....
-
Villa have made fewer substitutions than any other PL team this season!
-
Holt coming on.
-
Well at least that might give the crosses a target.
-
That was decent then, patient build up.
-

most of the crosses seem to be too early or straight at the keeper
-
I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't take Marc off for Holt, knowing that clown!
-
He'll probably take Albrighton off
-
Extraordinary minute from Delph, how he kept the ball with such flair I'll never know. Wasted in this set up.
-
They're claiming handball? Fuck off!
-
seen them given
-
Eh?
-
Ah back to the old 4-2-4
-
We got away with that.
-
off side ffs
-
Holt coming on but how about Robinson as well. KEA off?! WTF. Gabby or Weimann surely?
Trypical Lambert also. Sub with only 10 minutes left.
-
Terrible from Gabby, such a good chance wasted by delaying the pass.
-
Terrible.
-
That would have been incredibly harsh if that was given, and we're not playing Manchester United.
-
Robinson!!
-
C'mon Callum
-
Robinson is coming on.
-
Get Weimann off, quick.
-
Looks like we're going to twat it down the wings.
-
well I reckoned pt against soton and to beat hull
so going to plan
-
Robinson!!
At least guaranteed to lift the crowd.
-
Robinson coming on. Good move but far too late.
-
In all my time watching football, I've never seen a team that loves giving the ball away as much as this Villa side. They just love it.
-
Ok, here we go.
Robinson on for Weimann. Come on, Callum!!
-
should have done at HT
or first minute ;)
-
Come on Callum.
-
Make it a dream debut sunshine
-
Ooookaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!
-
Shit touch by Robinson. Get him off.
-
Davis tried to do a Jim Baxter. You're not that good, champ.
-
Robinson just not good enough!
;)
-
Fucks sake, Villa. Keep hold of the bloody ball.
-
Midfield looking light now.
-
Why does Guzan just hoof it down the pitch? It's so basic. Every bloody time we turn possession into a 50/50.
-
Dreadful pass, totally lazy and/or brainless.
-
Last five minutes crucial now
-
3 minutes. We can still win this.
-
Ref has been crap as well, the game hasn't flowed very well at all.
-
One last big go Villa
-
FUCK we got away with that
-
Woujld have summed up Gabbys day giving away a penalty then.
-
take the point
but that was dull
-
Got away with that I think. Very lucky boy Gabby.
-
excellent point, they are far better than we are
-
Punches the air in delight
-
Swansea 2-1 up
-
all huff and puff. Very little quality.
-
excellent point, they are far better than we are
I thought Southampton fully played their part in a very drab affair.
-
I suppose we should be grateful for a point.

they did. For all of their neat touches they have failed to score in two straight games against us and Cardiff
-
Hard fought point. Stops the rot. We still look a very poor side though. Weimann and Gabby are a waste in the side at the moment. Rest them, let a couple of others have a go to freshen things.
Albrighton was superb today. Worked himself into the ground. Delivered a lot of good balls which sadly our goal shy forwards never looked like making the most of. He's more than earned himself a new deal and it'd be a disgrace not to give him one.
Vlaar was also superb at the back too. Bertrand as well. Bacuna disappointed me. Should have done more going forward.
-
Bite your hand off for the point but we are dog shit. Lambert is part of the three amigos, fuck him off if we want to improve, don't be fooled that it's all those other two clowns, theyre the scapegoats.
-
I'm pretty concerned that we're showing very little fight. The introduction of Sid and Shay hasn't apparently put any fire in the players' bellies. We're in the shit still, and I can't believe we weren't going hammer and tongs when we kept finding so much joy down their left flank. That Shaw perhaps had an off day today, but Marc turned him inside out all game and he shouldn't have been on the pitch by the end. Why wasn't Holt on the pitch at this point?

We were awful but Lambert and Lallana were clearly minding themselves. Didnt stop us trying to hand them two penalties late on but think we dug out the point okish.
Thought Westwood and Delph were good in midfield. Vlaar and Bertrand good at the back. Albrighton tried hard but was up against an exceptional opponent. Guzan made some good saves. The rest verged between average and a disgrace (Weimann and Gabby).

I disagree, thought there was plenty of fight. Just not much quality
-
today was the day for a dead cat bounce. it didn't but a point is a point. we go again!
-
Point helps us a little but could of done without Swansea winning

Albrighton was as exceptional as his opponent.
-
I saw nothing about Shaw which was exceptional other than his pace, he got himself out of jail in defence a few times by being quick and everything he did going forward was him breaking on to a long ball into the corner and being too quick for Bacuna or Albrighton to catch him when he got a start on them.
He'll probably go on to be a very good player but, unless today was a massive off day, he's a long way from being one right now. Clyne was far better on the other side. The only 2 players they had that I thought looked genuinely top drawer were him and Lallana but the latter just couldn't quite open us up today, but it was pretty much only him trying.
-
Is this what "starting from scratch" looks like?
Albrighton for all his crosses never really put in a great ball, not there was much to aim at as we failed to get numbers in the box.
Delph plays far too deep, nobody supporting the strikers, not that there was any decent service to them.
Shame Robinson came on so late, he certainly added a bit of muched needed energy to the side.
Overall, 'meh'. What a wasted season.
