Did anyone see what happened with the Cardiff fans next to the P8 section in the upper Witton Lane? I just saw the end of a fracas with a Cardiff and Villa fan before the stewards got involved. Saw one jump back in the away section, it seemed a bit dodgy though, they looked like throw backs from the 80s.
-
They were indeed throw backs not too sure how many got over but it could have turned nasty as there were 4 stewards in a group keeping the Cardiff fans back. If they really wanted to get over it would have been easy as all the stewards were together so they could have got across anywhere. In the end they just resorted to kicking the partition and basically singing.
Thats all i saw as this was happening as i was exiting the seating area from the front of the Upper tier.
-
I sit there. They could quite easily have got across if they had wanted to as stewarding and police presence was minimal but did not. I saw nothing that concerned me (I'm an abject coward and would have run away).
-
I heard, on here I think, that one of them got his head punched. Their message boards talk of trouble outside the ground as well.

Good win mildly spoilt by the Cardiff dickhead who jumped the barrier up in P8 and promptly got his head seriously punched. I dont want to see that shit when at a match and my old man is way too fragile to suffer opposition morons. Normally the old bill reinforce the stewards up in P8 when the opposition fans start getting lairy but there was no sign of them today which was surprising seeing as most of West Midlands finest were at the game today. Be interesting to see why there were not up helping the stewards police the fans today.
-
Crikey, is it normally like that in P8 in terms of verbals between the home and away support?
-
Not normally now, usually it's all posturing and hand gestures. I've seen Yanited fans take a slap though but that's when they have smuggled seats in the home section of P8.
-

I got a bit mixed up. There was something about a bunch of ours, safely mouthing behind the Police, at the Cardiff going into the turnstiles and a bit more about the trouble by P8, even with mention of a bottle being thrown. There was nothing else about outside. I just googled 'cardiff city message boards' and read through a long string of posts on various subjects. When you read these things you get the feeling that a great number of people are totally pissed off with people playing up all the time. I suppose if you could get access to the secret hooligan message boards you would see the other side of it with all the 'fair play', 'inbreds', 'it was well on top' garbage that those things are full of.

I have taken a look and they seem a bit boss eyed and obsessed with how poor we are, when they will do well to stay in the league.
It was as if Paul Franks had got a log in on their sites.

If any team was poor it was them. Their tactic of playing Odemwingie up front on his own, then taking him off and replacing him with Frazier Campbell in an effort to try and equalise is what they really should be worrying about.
-
To add a bit more - it was about 5 rows behind me. Idiots on both sides gobbing off and one of them jumped the barrier and charged. The stand was pretty empty at the time so he got almost to the stairs before confronting the object of his ire who promptly waded in. The were pulled apart by stewards but the point was there was no police presence and minimal stewards - I think there were about 5 sitting on the stairs by the barrier. When spurs were there and getting a bit boistrous the coppers filled the entire course. Also happened v Man City when we went ahead but considering the number of paddywagons outside in Witton Lane I cant believe the police were short-handed so where the hell were they?

I couldn't understand why all those photographers chose to sit in front of the Cardiff fans, especially in the second half when they were unlikely to score at that end, unless it was purely to film any aggro going on.
If they are there for the Utd game, it is highly likely that all their expensive laptops and cameras will get smashed, as they are sitting exactly where the plebs jump over onto the pitch every time.

They've been giving it a lot of anti-chairman protesting so that was potentially the story of the day.

paddywagons
Now there's a blast from the past.

Slight aside but why every bloody year do we have to watch Yanited fans running onto our pitch. Really would like to see an end to that.
-
Stick them in the Upper Tier.
-
I wouldn't have any away fans in any lower tier. Stick them up in the gods away from the pitch, like Newcastle do.
-
Not throwing away 2 goal leads might help.

I said on another thread that the best way to deal with their morons is to smash the fuckers for a change.

When the Chelsea fans went on the pitch last season, there was one who stayed on there for some time and stood out in his white top. At no stage did they attempt to nick that bloke. Something very strange about the whole thing as others who have only dipped their toe on the pitch have been sought out and taken out of the ground.

Maybe he was a time traveler. Did he have a mobile?

Maybe the head hunters have acquired time traveling technology to elude the old bill.
-
Personally, I'd rope off say the first 5 rows of the north stand upper and put the away fans up there in the right hand section only. Get them away from the pitch ASAP.
-
I noticed no Cardiff fans entered the playing field. I suggest we continue with what we did against Cardiff to ward any away off in the future.

They may as well have escorted him on to the pitch as they were not interested in him one iota.

Yep, a clean sheet means no pitch invasions. I'd settle for that every week!
-
Be warned, the Manc's are coming. I've just played footy with a season ticket holder who told me he knows of at least 20 that have their tickets in P8 (he's not going)

I seriously doubt it.

I'm not usually a "they're bringing 10,000 in the Holte" type of person but he's a pretty good source on all things Yanited.

Hope you did a Huttonesque challenge on the Yanited twat then.

I was doing the Safe Standing thing in the Lions' Club on Sat'day and had to walk through loads of Cardiff fans queuing up to get in at 10 to 3.
Expected to get some stick but they just seemed a bit pissed, loud and in good spirits. Even moved aside to let me through carrying the box of surveys, clipboards etc.
Felt quite sorry that they had fuck all to sing about all game and all the way home.
All heart, me. ;-)

Like Noses in the Holte.

Like Noses in the Holte.
That has a wonderful lyrical quality Ads
"Like Noses in the Holte,
they wither unto dust..."
The Manure will have a few scattered about - we play "spot the Manc" every year - I only dislike the ones who bring their kids in and then mouth off about bullying - I'm not going to punch the child ;-)
-
It is common knowledge that they jump over the turnstiles in Witton Lane (not the away fans area) so we expect to see a few of the twats.
-
They do like to jib in.
If those that have bought tickets keep their heads down while we take apart their upper mid-table outfit, then fair dinkum, live and let live.

I agree , its common sense to not draw attention to yourself as an away fan in the home end - those who do should be heaved out .
On occassions I have had the odd away fan next to me they have behaved fine and been no problem - I know its difficult to control when your team scores having often been in the other end at villa away games , but the general rule is don't show your colours and you shouldn't cause a problem.

Vs Liverpool I had a scouser next to me up in P8. He might as well have worn his shirt but he kept his head down and didn't jump when they scored. He did, however get his Samsung Galaxy out to text someone - the Galaxy had a huge fuck-off pic of Steeevie Gee as its wallpaper. I advised him to put it away for his own safety or at least change the wallpaper. He was a good lad and we enjoyed a good chat and some friendly banter. If all away fans were as well behaved the I would welcome them - in fact we always sit in the Fulham side of the "neutral end" when we go to Craven Cottage simply so the old fella can enjoy the game while sitting.
-
The odd away fan in a home end is ok if they act respectful. Admit it, we've all sat behind enemy lines from time to time. Problem with Yanited fans is they don't understand the rules. That's why they often get slapped as a couple did last season in the Doug Ellis upper.

How else would we have got into Luton or grounds being redeveloped, such as Anfield and St.James Park?
However, there were valid reasons for that.

Tickets on general sale - so I guess there will be plenty of plastics in the home areas. It wont be Armageddon , but very annoying if your in the vicinity of one them .I wish the club wouldn't release tickets general sale for Liverpool & man ure, it smacks of profit over the home fans wishes.
I might be wrong here(and I am not defending his tenure) but when Doug was in charge I don't think tickets for these games went on general sale.

There's nowhere near as many as there used to be back in the days when crowds were lower.

I remember in the late 80s and early 90s there were loads of gloryhunters scattered around Villa Park especially the Lower Trinity.

Yeah, because the legions of red twats have bought them.
I've never really noticed any in home areas, but I have spent most of my time in the Holte.

no - because not enough Villa fans will buy tickets. It probably won't be a sell out anyway with it being on the box but, even if it wasn't on the box, we wouldn't sell enough tickets to Villa fans to make it a sell out without selling to mancs too
