Good article Dave and sums up how most supporters are feeling. The reasons behind our abysmal home form i believe started when we lost our two genuine attacking wingers in Young and Downing, Bent who until then was giving us a good return lost his supply chain and the goals dried up. We now have a manager who does not believe in orthodox wingers leaving us playing very narrow making it easy for opposition defences at Villa Park. Benteke for the most part has made his own luck how we will go without him i dread to think. Lastly when was the last time we saw a Villa midfielder get into the opposition box?

Very good article Dave and so true.

I think playing 433 away from home is ok as Weimann and Gabby drop deep so we can play on the counter attack, but I think we need to adapt our game at home. It just isn't working.

Good article. Your theory about Villa Park 'being too good for us' is an intriguing one.

Completely agree on Sylla.

So...Dudley Castle isn't worth a visit, then?

He needs to start changing things up quicker to send a message to the current players. These are almost all of is players now, and if things are not going to plan then we now have a lot more depth to do something about it. Otherwise we are just MON's Villa in a new skin. This line up and strategy works away from home, so if it isn't working at VP then have another plan. A different approach or simply some different players to vary things up. It is way too predictable. Fuck me it all sounds very 2008-2009 doesn't it?

Great article Dave.

It just seems like it's been one step forward and two back at villa for the past few years.

Decent article but to be fair our home form was shit under Mon as well. Think we drew more but certainly didn't win that many

I#ve said this before; we never get anything against Man Utd because they are up for it when they come, Ferguson respected our club and Villa Park and his teams were up for it. Man Utd aren't the only team that applies too. Teams expect a hard match when they come to us, unfortunately, we aren't good enough yet to sieze the initiative.
