I reckon 3 points at the Arse, 0 points at Chelski and 3 points at home against Liverpool. Yes, I think we'll catch Arse off guard in that first game....2-1 with CB netting both goals! What do you predict?
-
10 an extra point for beating Chavski. Scum. Sub human scum
-
Easy. 9 points from the first three games, easy, no probs.
-
I'm hoping for 7, I think we'll get 4.
-
3 points. Home win against Liverpool. But this current defence is a worry at this stage .......
-
Doubt Benteke will score at Arsenal - he's suspended!
-
Doubt Benteke will score at Arsenal - he's suspended!
I thought he served his suspension at Wigan? 2 yellows = 1 match?
-

Correct
-
I stand corrected.
-
We'd be relieved with no points and a GD no worse than minus 3. We'd be satisfied by 1 or 2 points, chuffed by 3-5 & elated by 6-9 points.
-
Zero. Worse start since 1997 when we were dark horses for the title and promptly lost the first four including Chris Sutton murdering us in an orange Blackburn kit at Villa Park. Ugh.
Oddly, my favourite season supporting Villa. Mainly thanks to the lush away kit and spring '98 when we played champagne football after Brian's sad departure.
-

Correct
'kin 'ell, this is rapidly turning into the new 'Why didn't Barry spare us years of in-joking on H&V by taking that sodding penalty at the Emirates/NuLibrary - I mean what was so bad that he had to be receiving treatment anyway? Y'know - he could have returned to the pitch to take the penalty and then gone back to the sidelines to get his big-boned body bandaged-up with the likely goal he had just scored giving him a real psychological boost and rendering any physical pain all but redundant'.
-
9. That's NINE. Thank you.
-
None, but we'll soon get over it.
-
None, but we'll soon get over it.
Disagree, Suarez is suspended or will be gone - can see 3 points against Liverpool!
-
Liverpool at home is a very winnable game.

None, but we'll soon get over it.

If only Liverpool didn't have a better record without him.
-
None, but we'll soon get over it.
Possibly this....
-
3 from 3 draws - we are the draw-meisters
-
Although I am fairly confident for the season I will go for 1 point against Liverpool. My tips for the title are Arsenal or Chelsea and I can see them starting well.
Even if we end up with no points the way we turned it around after that run last year leaves me in no doubt our heads will be strong still.
-
4
-
Liverpool at home is a very winnable game.
Unfortunately I think we have only beaten them once in about 15 games at home. Our record is atrocious against them.
-
Want 9, but probably 4 in reality.
-
4 points will do me nicely
-
4 points would be fine.
-
I'll go for 4 as well, win at arsenal, defeat at chelsea and a point at home to liverpool.
-
Isn't Benteke suspended for the opener?
*wink*
-
Can only see us getting one point from the lot. I'm thinking small so hopefully i'll be surprised.
-
None, but we'll soon get over it.
Same, I expect none, but it is no big deal.
-
Nobody has said 2 points yet so I'll take that.
-
This is where it'll be tough because the better teams won't see us scoring 2 or 3 in every game and as we most certainly will concede we will struggle. But its best that we have these gmes early. 4 or 5 points for me. Beat Arsenal, lose chelsea, draw Liverpool.
-
4 points. 1 at arsenal and 3 at home to liverpool.
-
1 at the Arse, O at Chelsea and 3 against the Bin Dippers, if we're honest I think most of us would be pretty happy with 4 points from those games.
-
None, but we'll soon get over it.
I agree. Perhaps one point. Hope I'm wrong though! Whatever happens need to avoid hitting our confidence
In my more optimistic moments I think we might get a draw at arsenal and beat Liverpool. It's a shame we have to play Liverpool after such a tough week. They'll be fresher too
-
1 at the Arse, O at Chelsea and 3 against the Bin Dippers, if we're honest I think most of us would be pretty happy with 4 points from those games.
I'd snap your hands off if you offered me those results. It's the toughest start to a season I can remember for any side.
I just hope that if we do lose all three it doesn't knock us too much
-
1 point.
-
None, but we'll soon get over it.
i'm thinking the same, (though hoping for more obviously)
although maybe a point against Liverpool might happen
still very positive for the rest of the season though
-
4 - draw against the gooners, lose to Chelsea and home win against Liverpool.
Arsenal is my tip for league title this season- I think they will just edge out Chelsea and utd.
-
7 - beat Arsenal, draw at Chelsea, beat Liverpool.
-
5 -draw with arsenal and chelski and beat the scousers easily
-
4 - draw against the gooners, lose to Chelsea and home win against Liverpool.
I'd be happy enough with that.
-
I think the Arsenal game will be similar to MON's first game, where we put in a solid, spirited performance but are undone at the end to draw it 1-1. The Chelsea game has to be a loss for me though, I just can't see us winning midweek at Stanford Bridge, let alone now that Mourinho's back, though I hope to be proved wrong.
We'll definitely turn Liverpool over though, they won't have Suarez and I think it'll take them a few months to find their feet this season.
-
One point, I think, from a draw with Liverpool.
-
I can't see us reaching double figures.
-
Zero.
-
Zero
Maybe one against Liverpool, might squeak a win as well.
I'm not remotely worried about this season, I think we'll do fine, but Arsenal and Chelsea away in 3 or 4 days? Not too hopeful.
-
I can't choose between a daring three or a moon-on-a-stick four. Three.
-
1 point only, I'm afraid. Arsenal will be up for it, play a fast passing game that will leave our lads a tad tired for Chelsea game and then get a draw v Liverpool.
-
Between 0 and 2.
I'm thinking 0. Hopefully, I'll get surprised.
-
0 for me.
-
0 to 1.
-
1 for me. Draw with Red Scouse.
-
We'll be on the same amount of points as Man Utd, maybe one more.
-
0 for the first two games. At which point I'd probably be delighted with 1 from Liverpool.
Looking at it the other way, I think they would all be massively disappointed with anything less than 3 from us.
-

Yes but they think it's a scandal if they don't win the league - in Liverpool's case, delusionally.
-
Liverpool at home is a very winnable game.
Unfortunately I think we have only beaten them once in about 15 games at home. Our record is atrocious against them.
On the plus side, they'll now have Mingolet in goal. Probably our best chance of points in the opening three fixtures.
-
Can't see us getting anything away at Arsenal or Chelsea.
Can't see us getting beat by a Suarez-less Liverpool.
So that's 1 or 3 leading into a cheeky little unbeaten run until the end of September.
-
They'll all be underestimating us - unluckily for them. I reckon four to five points is more than gettable.
-
Am hoping we can get 4 points but to be honest am expecting 2
-
12 points. I don't know how but 12, definitely 12.
-
Fuck it 9pts
realistically anything from 2pts - 5pts would be nice and set us up for a decent autmn
-
1pt from the Arsenal game.
Bringing the Chelsea game forward will cause extra travelling, tiredness and will hence allow Liverpool to turn us over as well as Chelski.
I'll take a point, but things will change after them first 3 games.
Most important is to only lose by 1 goal, keep the GD low.
-
4
-
3-5
-
0-9
-
3 points against Liverpool. Benteke loves playing against them and no Suarez this time for Baker to needlessly try to maim in the box.
Nothing in the other two.
-
I hope we don't descend into a world of shit if we lose the first 3 matches. We need to start fast and do our best, the rest will take care of itself.
Nothing to fear
Nick
-
Definitely nil points.
Arsenal 3-0; Chelsea 4-1; Liverpool 0-2
-
3 points against Liverpool. Benteke loves playing against them and no Suarez this time for Baker to needlessly try to maim in the box.
He'll probably take out Coutinho instead and that Aspas looks more than a little bit useful.

If we can bounce back from the batterings we got last christmas, we can come back from anything. No problem.
-
1-2
-
4 points. Draw in London then smash the hubcap hoarding hoarde.
-
Times have changed when Arsenal are by far the least offensive out of this particular 3
-
3, we'll beat Liverpool.
-
Times have changed when Arsenal are by far the least offensive out of this particular 3
Liverpool won't finish above Arsenal this season?
-

I meant offensive as in 'be offended by' as opposed to the American word for attacking, in sport that is.
Arsenal will finish above Liverpool because they have better players and a better manager
-
12 points.
OH DEAR, maybe i have been on the booze again. On a Monday ! How dare you. 12 points, after 4 games is what i mean, easy. 1982 ;D
-
think it will be 2 wins (Arse Pool) and 1 defeat (Small Heath of London)
-
3
-
2 points. And then we'll kick on.
-
12 points, no probs. UTV. 4 GAMES MAX POINTS.
-
8
-
4 for me
-
I would love 9 from 3 and if someone can give me the odds for that I would willingly wager a crisp £5...
however reality probably says its more likely to be a fat zero but 3 would be a significant improvement on last year and great encouragement for the season
-
10.
We get a bonus point for beating the dipper twunts.
-
8
Nice. I bet that took you ages to work out ?
-
4 points and go again..
-
Strange that we could huff and puff our way to two credible draws (most likely at Arsenal and against Liverpool) and get rolled over easily at Chelsea and people would be reasonably happy with the two points. Or we could get two thumpings in London but sneak a win over Liverpool and be a point better off.
-
A draw at Arsenal and a win against Liverpool for 4 points.
-
0
-
is that zero or an interjection?
-
I reckon 4 points draw at Arsenal and beat Liverpool.
-
9 :-)
-
Heart says 9.
Head says 3....all 1-1 draws
UTV
The Doc
-
I can say now we won't lose to Arsenal or Liverpool.
-
I can say now we won't lose to Arsenal or Liverpool.
Can you exclusively reveal this?
-
3 points, lose the 1st 2 games and then beat Liverpool
-
2. Can't see us losing all three but winning any may be a struggle. Will pick up after those games though.
-
We will get 2 points, 1-1 against Arse an 2-2 against racist fc Chelsea will score more than 2 us nil.
-
Heart tells me 4, head says 1. Anything more than 0 is a good return from 3 games we lost last time round.
-
1
-
We will lose to arsenal and chelsea and beat Liverpool hopefully
-
It will be either 0 or 1.
-
Too much pessimism in here. We will get 7 points. Beat Arsenal, get another draw against a Mourinho Chelsea team (will make it 5 draws 2 defeats) then beat the bin dippers at VP.
Can't wait 8)
-

We beat them at VP didn't we in the Roman handshake game.
-
I'm going for a solid 5 points. Draw's in London, win against the deluded dippers who'll be missing Suarez and quite possibly Sturridge
-
Beat Arsenal (have they improved yet?), lose to Chelsea, draw with Liverpool, 4 points, bob's your uncle (or is he?).
-
Im a little worried that the preseason have been to soft with the exception to Malaga and that it will take a few games to find the PL pace.
Arsenal havnt really improved their team (Did he really bring Bendtner back? Its like buying Carew for this season) but their preseason is setting them up for a flying start.
Chelsea - better prepared, cashdoped squad and at home. Gonna need a miracle.
Liverpool - coming home to Villa Park after that start will turn everyone into energizer bunnies. This is where we draw the line in the sand. Clean sheet.
Arsenal - 3pts (5%) , 1pt (25%) , 0pt (60%)
Chelsea - 3pts (1%), 1pt (14%), 0pt (85 %)
Liverpool - 3 pts (60%, 1 pt (35%), 0pts (5 %) -
That would make it 3-4 pts probably.
-
The Gooners wont nil us, but theyll score as well i fancy a draw there possibly 2-2, the Jose show will be gathering pace nicely by then, and were away, only one result i can see there. A Suarez - less Liverpool are beatable, so i`m going for 4 Points.
-

Yeah we did. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/6963719.stm
So 1 win, 4 draws and 2 defeats in the league vs Mourinho. I thought the last time was the 3-2 in 2004.
-
Why is Arsenal's pre-season setting them up for a flyer?
-
If we do wind up with zero points after these three fixtures, we just need not to shit ourselves and start panicking.
-
I still don't get how our pre-season are too soft while everyone else's is turning them into world beaters.
-

I assume its because we've been playing the likes of Crewe, whereas clubs such as Man Yanited have been playing clubs such as Crewe.

When they weren't getting beaten by unknown Japanese sides.
-
I just don't see much difference between ours and the majority of other clubs.
All Premier League club's pre-season friendlies (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2327369/Premier-League-pre-season-fixtures-results-2013.html)

There really isn't on the whole.
-
I can say now we won't lose to Arsenal or Liverpool.
I still say we wont lose to these 2 . You can get 8/1 for the win which is far to big for a first day of season match!! also 4/1 for the draw !!
Aston Villa plus 1 goals is 2/1
-
One of each. Draw at Arsenal. Narrow defeat by Chelsea. Win against Liverpool.
-
Could be a good time to play Arsenal - natives getting restless (booed off twice at home at the weekend), lack of new signings; hopefully they won't get a new striker in before our game. And even if they do sign Suarez (unlikely) he'll be suspended.
-

Looking more than likely that the Arse won't have a new striker by next Saturday and now they've sold Gervinho. I feel we'll win this game.
-
4 .draw at arse . win against liverpool - mind we have a good record against Mourinho , so you never know. 4 points
-
3 points v Liverpool
It'll kick start our season.
Just hope we don't get hammered on those 2 London visits ... goal difference apart, it breeds low confidence and with young players, it's uber important to keep confident.

9 of course. What's the matter wit you all ? 9 points easy on. UTV
-
In pretty convinced our selections will have to take I to account three games in a week plus the impact of international games.
I think it will be Guzan, Clark, Okore, helenius, vlaar, Weimann, benteke and Tonev (but not KEA or sylla I don't think). Though not sure vlaar or Weimann tend to start. But it would've been nice for our defenders to be able to work on their shape more, especially if vlaar is going to play left centre back.
At least none of our players have to go over to South America and back, like cazorla.
-
Revised to 7 - point at Chelsea, 3 points against Liverpool. Do you agree?
-
I'm sticking with this.
I'm hoping for 7, I think we'll get 4.
-
Nah, gonna be 6 - I think Chelsea will sneak it after a plucky performance from the boys..
-
One point, I think, from a draw with Liverpool.
If we can manage to get another point out of the next couple of games then that's not a bad start, all things considered. We're already doing better than I anticipated! Miserable bugger that I am.
-
Nowt at Chelsea but I reckon we'll beat Liverpool as for all their good play, they still missed plenty of chances today and could've drawn that.
Plus our front three against Kolo Toure? I'd back Benteke and Gabby everytime.
-
Was going for four points before todays game (was thinking we might draw today) but am thinking six may now be possible. Liverpool is winnable but if they can build on todays display and control the midfeld area then it might a long day, but will go for us to get at least a draw there. Think Chelsea will have too much for us on Wednesday, them playing a second straight home game could work in their favour. If we can repeat some of good things from today then hopefully we will give them a decent game.
-
Well, I said 0 points. So I will predict that we will have 3 points after the first three games.
Fingers crossed it works again.
-
3 points more than I thought we'd have, and we go again
-
Well, I said 0 points. So I will predict that we will have 3 points after the first three games.
Fingers crossed it works again.
I think we can certainly get a result against Liverpool - they don't have Suarez, who is a big influence. Still think we'll have at least 6 points by the end of these 3 games. Also, Sylla will be fit and ready for Saturday.
-
If we had 6 points come Sunday, it will be a great return and a brilliant platform for the season.
-
If we had 6 points come Sunday, it will be a great return and a brilliant platform for the season.
Indeed - i would be delighted to be in that situation come Sunday .
-
We're already 3 points and 3 goals better off than the corresponding fixture last year, which for me is the most important thing.
On the basis that these three games last year produced 0 points and a goal difference of -10, anything above that should give us confidence.
-
I said 10 and maintain it is just possible. If we beat Chelsea we should be awarded an extra point on the general principle of beating the Most Self Absorbed One and his accolytes. I genuinely dislike them.
I could write a book on Chelsea. It wouldn't be very long.
We used to be rubbish for most of our history then did well for a season or two in the 50's and early 70's.
We had a shit hole of a ground with a car park in it.
Then we spent lots of money we didn't have and won some cups and were almost bankrupt. Luckilya hyper rich Russian bloke who some people think acquired his wealth by dubious means bought the club and bankrolled much repeated spending splurges buying lots of trophies which if you hold close to your ear you can hear a very hollow ring.
He did this so he could become a British resident thereby avoiding the fate of some of his peer group.
-
We obviously have three points after our first game, I would be very happy with a draw at Chelsea and a home win against Liverpool..
So I say seven points.. (Being Optimistic)
-
I said 4 , changing to 7 ;)
-
I am optimistic of beating Liverpool and six points from our first three fixtures would be excellent so I am treating tonight as a bonus/free game. Whether I will be so philosophical come kick off is another story.
-
Too much pessimism in here. We will get 7 points. Beat Arsenal, get another draw against a Mourinho Chelsea team (will make it 5 draws 2 defeats) then beat the bin dippers at VP.

Nice. It's going to happen.
Please believe it.
-

Well guys, that was my original prediction above; I still think we'll have 6 points come Saturday night. Do you agree?
-
Want 9, but probably 4 in reality.
Predicted 4 and would still be happy to take that.
-
Am sticking with four points as think it will be a draw on Saturday. Add to that what should be steady progress to the next round of the cup and what should be a home win against the barcodes and we will be laughing.
-

I think a lot of people would have thought, when the fixtures came out, that 4 points from the first 6 games was a decent return.
I'm going for 6th and we should have enough to beat Liverpool at home.
-
Zero.
I'm already over the Luna.
