Nice touch from the club and well done to dafabet too for agreeing -
Acorns, the Club's official charity partner, will have their 'Acorns 25' logo displayed across the front of shirts worn by the Villa youth team during the 2013-14 campaign.
Premier League restrictions on sponsorships mean that junior shirts cannot feature the logo of Dafabet, the Club's new official main sponsor.
But Dafabet's desire to work with the Club in our continued efforts on behalf of Acorns has been demonstrated with their support for the Acorns brand being displayed on junior shirts, acknowledging the Club's long-standing association with the Midlands-based charity.
Villa Chief Executive Paul Faulkner said: "We're delighted to now be able to confirm that, thanks to Dafabet, the Acorns logo will be able to be used on our junior shirts this season. Everybody knows how special the Club's relationship with Acorns is and that was something we emphasised to Dafabet when we entered into negotiations with them. It's great that they have embraced Acorns in this way and that together we are able to give additional awareness to the charity during their 25th anniversary."
Acorns Chief Executive David Strudley added: "The ongoing support shown by the club and fans for Acorns is immeasurable and clearly demonstrated by their efforts to include us in their discussions with Dafabet. We are extremely grateful to both Aston Villa and Dafabet in what is a crucial year as we celebrate 25 years of caring and look to a future where we can help to provide care and support to each of the 2,000 plus life-limited and life-threatened children in the region."
Villa will display an 'Acorns 25' logo on both the home and away youth match shirts and junior replica shirts next season as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations for Acorns Children's Hospice.
From Wednesday, June 26, supporters who wish to buy junior replica shirts may have the Acorns 25 logo applied at purchase, except on match days.
Those fans who have already purchased a junior shirt online, in-store or from other outlets can come to the Villa Village store at Villa Park to have the logo applied free of charge.
Villa's Acorns ambassador Gabby Agbonlahor said: "The support for Acorns by Villa fans and the wider community has been incredible over the years and we want to make sure these efforts are continued.
"Acorns is very much part of who we are as a football club and raising awareness and raising funds for the children and families is vital.
"As players, having responsibilities within our community is good. There is more to life than football and Acorns is a very real reminder of this to us.
"The work carried out by the staff, the nurses and the volunteers who come in and help is inspiring and it's great we will have the 'Acorns 25' logo on all junior shirts and shirts worn by our youth team."

EXCELLENT news
-
As a club, we really do keep giving out these warm messages on a regular basis.
I can't think of another club where these kind of things happen (maybe they do and we are just not aware), but without being too stupid about it, it really does make me proud of the club and what they try to stand for.
Well done Villa and Dafabet !

Has this Acorns sponsor on the kids kits been confirmed anywhere yet ?
If it does I plan to ring up and claim that my child has an eating disorder, so I'll need an adult medium sized shirt, with the Acorns sponsor on it
Eh hem, the plan goes ahead....
Well done Villa :)

EXCELLENT news
Amen!
-
Good sense has prevailed - a rare thing in these troubled times.
-
I heard this might be happening earlier in the week. It really is a great idea so well done to all concerned.
-
Great stuff.
-
Another reason to be proud of the club.
-
Very well done to the club. I am pleasantly surprised at Dafabet, so well done and thanks to them too.
-
Brilliant news and well done to all concerned.
-
So far this has arguably been the best summer any of us have known when you combine efforts on and off the pitch. The club have done superbly.

I agree, there is a feel good factor running through the club and long may it continue.
We are singing from the same hymn sheet as sir graham would say.
Onward Christian benteke .....
-
Great stuff. Well done all those involved in this decision.
-
Isn't it nice to see, a football club with a social conscience?
-
The logo itself looks great on the shirt.
-
Superb, thought they should have done this when Genting became sponsors but perhaps they refused. Already have the kids kit from Saturday so will take back in when I am passing next and have the acorns added. Nice touch
-
Another thing that Faulkner deserves some credit for, I still maintain that's he's done well with everything he's been asked to do other than employing TSM (and maybe Houllier but I have no great issue with that decision, unlike some).
Off the field the club has got most things right in the last 3-4 years, it's just unfortunate for PF that's come on the backdrop of having to cut the wage bill and rebuild the squad completely, which means he's not been given the credit for any of it.
I'm incredibly proud of the club right now, and very pleased with Dafabet too.

Nice touch by all concerned.
-
Didn't someone on here post this idea up a few weeks ago? I'm not saying that the club weren't thinking about it before then but it would be nice to know whose idea it was.
Well done to the club nevertheless.

Don't suppose they'll be flogging any XXXXXXXXL Junior shirts....just a thought.
-
They should do a limited edition adult one. I'd buy one. Guess Daftbet wouldn't like that
-
Great stuff Villa
-
Great news. If I had any kids, I'd be rushing to the club shop by now. Well done once again Aston Villa.
-
From little Acorns......
-
I would love that on the new away top that I'm going to buy. Alas little Ava and Scarlett will have it instead. Looks so much better than any commercial sponsor doesn't it?
-
This is superb. Well done to all involved.
-
Great gesture all round, Well done Villa.
-
I thought it was against the rules to put a gambling firm's name on a child's shirt anyway?

Don't Man Utd have a training kit sponsor? Maybe Acorns could be ours.
-
I am so pleased Villa continue to campaign for Acorns
-
Really nice touch from Villa, on Acorns 25th anniversary as well. Well done Lerner.
-
Was going to wait until end of season and get one cheap but my liking for the home kit has made me order it today - i do like the purple jacket but will wait until may for that one .
Full credit to defabet for allowing acorns to use the junior shirts - a nice gesture .
-

It is. Hence the Acorns thing.
-
Hi does anybody know if the baby kits will carry the acorns logo?
-
Well done Villa
-
Yet again I am filled with an enormous sense of pride knowing that I really do support the greatest football club in the land, well done AVFC.
-
Hi does anybody know if the baby kits will carry the acorns logo?
Can't say for sure but if you look at the infant stuff online it doesn't have the Acorns 25 on it whereas the old kids stuff does.
-
All infant and baby kits are to have the logo printed on the front for free if they are returned to the club shop.
-
I would buy an adult away shirt with Acorns on it tomorrow, shame it won't happen.
