How will you fill the Villa void during the coming months?
I might sit in the corner with a wet tea towel stuffed with tin foil on my head...
-
The summer sports, cricket, golf and baseball over here
-
Cricket for me and the Lions tour, I'll be delighted to be away from football for a bit.
-
I've got my own new arrival due around the first game, so don't worry about me I've plenty to fill my time with.

Baby number 2 due on July 5th so that should fill the void.
Best of luck.

The Ashes and State of Origin.
-
Next week- Champions league final.
12-17th June- Download festival.
July- Wimbledon and the Ashes.
Early August- Walsall.
Sorted until mid August.
-
Finding a wife and a job. One will suffice.
-
Cutting the grass. Swearing at myself. I will have a proper pre-season of sitting under the kitchen table, rocking back and forth.
But by the start of the new season I will be living up north full time and be off weekends for good. If I don't get to half of our games next season I'll be disappointed.
-
Finding a wife and a job. One will suffice.
Either will drive you fuckin barmy mate.
-
Lots of movies, the Ashes, the Lions tour, 2 weeks in Zante, a hernia op for me and more importantly a hip replacement for Mrs K
-
Going on a gluten free diet. Should be considerably less painful than the first half of this season.
Other than that, a well deserved break from football with a hefty dose of optimism for next season.
-
Planning for a move down to Worcester in September, so getting a driving licence is top priority.
-
I will send daily emails to the club giving them invaluable transfer advice.
I am sure they will be grateful.
-
Finding a wife and a job. One will suffice.
Either will drive you fuckin barmy mate.
Maybe an affair with an heiress then.
-
I am going to make a model Villa Park out of Smarties. Then I'm going to eat it.
-
June 7-8th, Run24. It's like Le Mans for joggers. Also running a half marathon in July.
I'm also taking a break in Cornwall and going sailing!
Then I'm agonizing over which pre-season friendly to go to. Walsall or Luton?
-
Watch films and pull my pud a lot.

Ashes.

SATs marking.

For the first time in a long time i'm relieved its over. After that season I want nothing more than to chill before we have to start it all over again. Goes quickly though, eh?

I was a lot happier to see the back of last season. At least there were some positives out of this one. The future is bright...as long as the defence is sorted out.

I agree, however now I can ride my bike in peace without working what if this or that, cricket will always fill the void. C'mon you bears & the AShes
-
Lots of cycling. And the Green Man festival in August.
-
Drink, drink and drink...
-
Drink, drink and drink...
.. .... ... ....
The saviour of the human race .......
-
The cause of (and solution to) all of our problems.
-
Most efficacious in every case!
-
God knows.
Loved the last few months of this season. Every match has meant something and the fact we have done well has made it really special. Im gonna miss it until August but n some ways glad of the emotional break.
Ashes, British Lions and Wimbledon dont compare but will have to suffice over the summer.
Maybe I Will buy the new bike i keep promising myself
-
I'm actually disappointed the season has ended.
-
For the first time in a long time i'm relieved its over.
How did you feel at the end of last season?
-

How did you feel at the end of last season?
Fucking delighted the season was over, for the first time in over 35 years of going down the Villa i'd started hating going matches.
-
Very glad its over. can actually enjoy weekends now. Will mostly be doing DIY

Snap.

I know your question wasn't aimed at me, but just had to point out how much I started hating things the last few months.

Indeed. But at the end of that TSM was sacked. Then we had solksjaer and Lambert. we had something to look forward too. Just had enough of relegation scrapes, that's all.

Same here. I just think the seeds of something good have been sown this season.

Job hunting. Whilst making the most out of being made redundant by enjoying the Ashes and ticking off 3 new grounds in one week - Wycombe, Luton and Crewe.
-
Gardening, kids, sun shine and holiday
-
A week or two on holiday. Cricket. Some days out with my lad. Trying to persuade the wife that I can go to Bochum. And Dublin.

Enjoy it chelts - my holiday starts here , off to the airport now , have a great summer all!
-
I'm building a life size statue of the late Queen Mother out of bogies.
-
Ashes, Lions Tour, the transfer and ITK threads on here, a half term holiday on the Wye next week and a summer holiday in the south of France....
-
Whereabouts on the Wye, Richard? I love it in Ross. Only a short hop to the likes of Monmouth, Chepstow and the Forest of Dean as well.
-
I'm going to pop into the pub at about 4.30 on a non-descript Saturday afternoon in the summer. The screens will be blank or maybe showing some sort of Cricket if not a music channel at very low volume. A few people will be soaking up the piss week sunshine in the half deserted beer garden. A family will be sat in the corner having a late lunch and the baby will occasionally cry out. A couple of regular faces will be sat together without saying anything, one will pick up the newspaper lying nearby and flick through it without taking in any of the details therein.
I will buy a pint, engaging the single member of bar staff on duty in pointless coversation, after which they return to their previous diversion, that of aimlessly cleaning the pumps with a filthy rag.
Sitting in the corner I watch an old man come in, buy a half of bitter, drink it and leave, all in the space of 10 minutes.
I check my phone, no messages, down the remains of my pint and leave.
I love the close season.

In which case shouldn't you change your user name to mdf?
-
I like pre-season, i enjoy the break from it all. Besides, the fixtures are out in four weeks and the first freindly will be around before you know it.
-
I am off to China for just over a week this Friday :-) Then it's the ashes all the way plus a bit of Warwickshire.
-

Me too, my baby is due 13th August so going to be very busy. Were all going to have to swap tips in off topic
-
I'll be catching up on work I should have done during the season whilst desperately trying to avoid the Transfers, Speculation, Suggestions and Rumours thread.
But before I do, does anybody know anything about Hiroshi Kirotake?
-
I have painting that needs doing, lots of painting. I will therefore be be looking for ideas how to avoid doing lots of painting in the same way as i avoided doing it last summer.
-
But before I do, does anybody know anything about Hiroshi Kirotake?
Yes. A five day course of penicillin usually clears it up.
-

I am going to paint our front door and garage door, they have needed re-painting for years.
Which is why, ever summer for the last few years, I've said "I am going to paint the front and garage doors this summer".
-
We need to start a get out of painting/ decorating thread in off topic!
-
There will be no break for me - I've already started worrying about next season. Optimists - who are these people!?
-
I will not be doing any painting or bloody shopping, that's for sure.
-

Quite. My missus politely informed me last night that 'we' need to get started with the painting as we already behind schedule apparently...

Playing Cricket and hiding from the wife at the allotment.

I do love that 'we' in that sentence. The wife is a master of the 'we' need to do this and 'we' need to do that. We all know that what she means is 'you'.
-
I will replace all the relegation angst ridden etc threads with the Who will be signing in the close season threads etc..
and I will be seeing a doctor about my OCD problem
-
I will not be doing any painting or bloody shopping, that's for sure.
Too hot for you for sure
-
I'm going to get fit. Had a dodgy ankle since the Birmingham HM which got sorted by a steroid jab last week. For some reason I've felt the need to drink a lot since Bradford away a feeling which completely disappeared after about 10 pm last Tuesday. So going to drop a stone, do some gentle jogging and go on holiday in July.
Oh and put some focus into my job for a couple of months as well.
-

Thats my excuse mate and i will be sticking to it. Just got a new road bike so i will be doing my best impressions of the Ironman for about 100k 3 times a week, along with some swimming and jogging. Entering a short triathlon in November, just to say i have done one to be truthful.

Keep going, Nev. this is the start of a very good book. I'm hooked already.

The Stone Roses at Finsbury Park,
Glastonbury festival
Beady Eye Gig,
One Stag do and one wedding.
5 days in Barcelona
Get back from Barcelona and it's Crewe away!

Could you possibly fit in some Jam making, scones, strawberry picking, earl grey tea and fudge, ya lazy git.

2 daughters aged 20 and 2 months to keep me occupied. I will no doubt be spending most of my time in the playpark applying suncream and stopping a daredevil from diving off the top of the climbing frame while avoiding helicopter mums.
