Thankfully looking forward now we have a new kit and prospective new sponsors. Anybody heard anything? 'Rumour' has it that the home kit is based on the 82 home strip and the away kit pretty awful?
Obviously staying up should be beneficial from a sponsorship perspective and I pray we don't end up with Wonga (like the Jawdies). With the new TV deals can Prem teams now drive a harder bargain? We all thought that the IMG involvement when RL took over would push us up the commercial ladder but apart from Nike not much else seemed to materialise.
My biggest fear was that if the worst had happened investment in the youth set-up would have suffered together with staff redundancies etc.
-
I hope and I'm sure we wouldn't end up with someone like Wonga as our sponsor, as what they do is pretty immoral.
-
The sponsor is less of an issue - very few (if any) sponsor names improve the look of a shirt, so whoever we end up with will have to do. My concern is more with the style of the kit - Macron are absolutely dreadful and I fear the worst.
-
its the men on the shoulders ! put them under the arm please

cant see it being someone like wonga ( or poundland even ;))
I heard Sheff Wed turned down one of those day loan companies as sponsors , even thou the money was good but they did not agree with them . well done Sheff Wed , shame the goverment don't ban the adverts on TV.
-
so this probably means delay of launch for kit as we might not have a sponsor sorted yet (assuming this is correct)
-
I follow Football Shirts (https://twitter.com/FootballShirts) on Twitter.
Nothing about our new kit yet but a lot of interesting new kits for other teams are on there. I'm not sure how accurate it is though.
-
Hopefully the rumours that it looks like the '82 home shirt are true, that would be ace.
-
Having a quick mooch around the interweb, it appears Norwich have ripped off the idea to copy the '82 kit: www.football-shirts.co.uk/fans/norwich-city-errea-home-kit-201314-dare-to-dream_19436 (http://www.football-shirts.co.uk/fans/norwich-city-errea-home-kit-201314-dare-to-dream_19436)
On a side note, Manchester City's prospective away kit is, in my opinion, vomit inducing: www.football-shirts.co.uk/fans/potential-manchester-city-201314-away-kit_19483 (http://www.football-shirts.co.uk/fans/potential-manchester-city-201314-away-kit_19483)

That kit looks worse than AIDS.
-
Oh no, not the new kit thread! I can't cope with the stress of that, and the associated 'badge sub thread', so soon after the relegation thread has ended!
-
The quality of the Macron kit was poor, not just the design.

Yes, the wife bought me the home top and both the shoulder patches lasted about two weeks before coming off. The away top is my son's favourite Villa shirt so far though. Which I guess was the target market to be fair.

I really like that. But then, I like Norwich's colours, anyway.

That's made my eyeballs bleed! Shocking!
-
God, that Norwich one is shocking
-
Before we criticise any other clubs new strip, lets wait to see ours.
As long as it is Claret blue, who really cares, because it will be all change again next season!
Personally I thought the Man City away kit was ok.

Kit unveiled 15/16th June. I wasn't keen on the home shirt at first as I felt it was a bit West Ham ish but I quite like it now - I'm not keen on the away at all though. I'm still holding out for the blue ring collar of 1992-93 design.........
-
Can't understand the moans about macron. The Nike ones were worse quality IMO - all the ones I had shrank and were horrible material. I like the Macxron material and much better fit.
Interesting to see citeh have ditched umbro, a MCR company.
-
Are they doing that kit launch with all the bands again?
Quite enjoyed that last year.
-
YEP
-
So I'm assuming we know our new sponsor already then?
-
I posted some photoshops in the "Replica Kit £10" thread a week or so back.
Macron > Nike
All they have to do is stop putting the Macro men on the shirts. Mine have peeled off.
-
I gather West Ham are moving to Adidas so guess we are the principal Macron team in the UK. If so they should be pushing the boat out.
-
We probably do know the new sponsor but are contracted to Genting until the end of May or even June I would guess
-
I hope and I'm sure we wouldn't end up with someone like Wonga as our sponsor, as what they do is pretty immoral.
Wonga are the new sponsors of newcastle, whose kit is being released on sale by puma tomorrow.
-
Yep and what they do is immoral, charging people who shouldn't be getting loans absolutely disgusting rates.

Yup. My friend plays bass for one of them.

I do quite like the Norwich kit, but that advert was utterly toss.

Can we please have the 86/7 gold away kit again. Pure retro.

I liked the white one influenced by the European Cup winners shirt.

The white one in Mellbergs last season was one of the best shirts we have ever had.
White feels like our traditional away colours.

Yes, now that was a good shirt

Theres been a few doubters about having adidas so will be interesting to see what a claret and blue adidas kit actually looks like.
-

I agree.
-
I am a big fan of an all white away kit and I think if we got adidas on the case, they would do it really well with some nice claret and blue piping down the arms or around the cuffs, on the shorts and top of the socks. I used to think we looked dead cool in that strip
-
aren't there any kit leaks or mock ups (I forget by who) that we can look at?

I'd be embarrassed to wear it if I was a Liverpool fan. Nearly as bad as the Kumars blues kits ;D
-
A mate of mine knows one of the girls who plays for the Villa ladies team and she has seen the new kits.
Apparently the home kit does indeed have blue sides beneath the sleeves. The away kit is supposedly (don't shoot the messenger) white and blue/purple squares! As my mate commented - she said its really nice, but then she is a girl.

Excuse my cynicism but why, weeks before the launch, would someone from the women's team be looking at the shirt, and able to comment on it to all & sundry?
-
I like the black away kit near the bottom with the fluorescent green piping - continues a theme whilst revisiting a recent away kit that I liked.

Can't wait to be done with Genting, terrible sponsor. Praying our kit is decent.
-
Yep and what they do is immoral, charging people who shouldn't be getting loans absolutely disgusting rates.
Agreed, I could never, ever wear anything that had their logo on.
They are a despicable company but we've just been through three years with Genting so the moral high ground looks pretty far away. It's difficult to think of a more immoral business than a casino. Stuff like tobacco, mining or owning a credit card company would be up there, I suppose.
-
I honestly think we should ask the Church of Engalnd to be our shirt sponsor, and then all on here who are holier than thou would be happy!!"
Some on here must not drink, gamble or commit any sins against any person etc....get real. Aston Villa is a business if a credit card / petrol company etc...were offering mega bucks then Villa would anp there hands off!
-
If we got sponsored by C of E, we could then all pray before the game so we could be forgiven for our sins, for the nasty words we are going to say about the ref and the other teams players.
I can honestly say in all the years (40+) that I have been going down the Villa, that I have once thought about who our sponsor is. If you dont like it then dont buy the shirt.
And if any one on here thinks that our players are angels, then they should think again.
-
I liked the white one influenced by the European Cup winners shirt.
Yes, my favourite Villa away shirt.
-
Can't wait to be done with Genting, terrible sponsor. Praying our kit is decent.
They gave us more money than any other sponsor ever had, so I can't see the problem. Unless they're completely unethical I fail to see how a sponsor can be good, bad or indifferent.
-
I don't have too much of a problem with Genting either.
That Norwich video was a bit on the very naff side.
-
The Mellberg white away shirt was CLASS and up there with my other favourite away kit, the 1990-93 Mita Copiers white shirt with those blue and black blocks on the arms, black shorts and white socks. Staunton scored THAT goal at Old Trafford wearing it.
ps Is it wrong for me to say I loved the green, black and red striped Muller away kit of 93-95?
-
Just watching the Norwich video, its a bit of a fun and the kids must have loved it but the shirt is not nice or very traditional is it? However, when Norwich have kits that are generally seen as awful, the Villa do well...... remember that yellow top with green paint splashes all over it that Jeremy Goss and Chris Sutton wore? The same two years Villa finished second and won a cup. Clutching at unlikely straws already and this season hasn't even finished yet ha ha

No!
Aged 6, it was my very first football shirt. Was on a day trip to Canterbury and it could have been any shirt to be honest but THAT shirt was the only one that fitted me. The rest is history and I do not believe in coincidence. Thank McGrath!
-
Thats dire, Errea.
Now that's clever!

I don't get it either.
"Terrible" sponsor? In what way?
-
The only way I would class Genting as a 'terrible' sponsor is the fact that the kiddie-sized shirts can't have them on as a sponsor and have been left blank. If I was a wee Villa fan again, I would have been very unhappy not to have the same shirt as the grown-ups. That's not Genting's fault, however.
-
My kids are gutted that they can't have the sponsor's logo on their shirts. Would be nice for them to be able to wear exactly the same kit as their heroes.
edit - posted at the same time a curiousorange

Isn't it to do with advertising laws?

Isn't it to do with advertising laws?
Think so. I don't know if it's a case of having to be over a certain age to advertise a gambling firm on your clothing.
I've just read that back. It sounds ridiculous.
-
Have to say, I thought it was any advertising.
Personally I'd prefer my shirt without the advertising on.
-
My favourite kits are the AST Computer ones, especially the 1995/96 home and (dark navy) away. I also like the away kit Collymore held up in his Villa Park photos the day he signed. I used to have those kits but can't find them now. Hopefully they will be available on Villa Direct.

Agreed. This my first ever Villa kit and I've still got it somewhere. I thought Reebok did a great job on it.
It was only years later that i noticed the columns of Villa lions running down it! Loved it even more!

Yes I remember those villa lions, beautiful! The Reebok kits were great. They made Liverpool's and Bolton's at the same time I think. They don't seem to be as prominent now.
-
The two Reebok ones from 95/96 up to 1998 were lovely. Ruined by the crest though imo.
Next point isn't thread worthy but has anyone bought one of these - http://www.sportsdirect.com/score-draw-retro-aston-villa-shirt-1982-european-cup-final-377533
And if so, what is the sizing like? I'm a medium in this season's home shirt but Macron come up large. Fancy one of those retro shirts 8)
-
Where's the guy on here who does the brilliant mock ups?
Can we get him back to do a load more brilliant mock ups which we all love and the club then proceed to completely ignore please!!!
-
I think his name is Marshall but only ever seems to appear on here for that very reason. Maybe it's our reserve goalie showing his Graphic Design course skills he hones in his spare time.

The colours seem a little off and the white collar on the home doesn't look right. I appreciate the effort though (and it could just be my screen).

How very Scunthorpe. I like the idea of blue down the sides and I'm all for something different for the away kit. Just not something as repulsive as all lime though ta.
-
Blimey- that old badge looks good dunnit.....
Quite like that Irish Lions shirt actually even without the blue sleeves. With white shorts could be good. Which as a staunch traditionalist is a strange comment from me.
Anyway, if we had similar to 82/83 with classy white away I would be happy.
-
Looks like a rugby shirt. Dull colours.
Yeah, it's not one of his best to be fair.
It may not be one if "his" designs to be fair. That shirt is pretty much exactly how the new away kit was described to me by someone who has seen it.
-
What are our proper home colours as Nike and Macron have had different shades, how is it different to this years kits?
-
Claret and blue, I think.
-
The colour on the 01/02 kit was definitely not claret.
The last kit that I really liked was the first nike one in 07/08

Funnily enough, that is one of my least favourite in recent years. The neck on it was a bit gammy.
The away shirt that season was superb though.

That is better Marshall.
-
The design for the new Napoli home and away kits is quite nice
Are you on about the one they are wearing for the tear up tonight for one match only.Best top I seen in years and its Macron they can do it.
-
The home kit should resemble the much loved Henson kit of '85-'87. The away kit should be the green/red/black combo of '93-'94. The third kit should be the white with little yellow hoops effort of '83-'84. Perfect.
-
We should go back to the red and white piebald effort.
-
Doing a Google Image search and Macron have done Napoli some nice kits but their sponsors logo ruins it.
-

It's the 2013/14 kit I think. The away is white with two light blue stripes down the middle.
-
How come they can do a kit for Napoli that is stylish and minus the ugly logos on the shoulders but not for us? Those logos make the kit look so cheap.
-

It is possible that our 2013/2014 kit will be along the same lines.
-
I'm wondering the club can offer a small number 19 that they can press on to the new shirts, say on the sleeve for a quid? Something nominal. The proceeds can go to leukemia research and we retain a link to Stan. It would too late to get it added to the new kit permanently as they should be a long way down the production schedule.
-
I doubt adding it to the official kit would be allowed due to regulations involving only the player's squad number being placed there.
-

They always have fine kits ;)

Aye, didn't all Macron kits last year have those logos? If the new Napoli kits lack them maybe all of next season's won't have them. Don't know why people are so hung up on those logos anyway. If last season's shirts are anything to go by they'll come off after a couple of washes.

You miserable bastards. They're quite nice. They probably won't be close to what is the final design but they're nice nevertheless.

At the absolute worst that's got to be a training top.
It looks like someone's taken four pictures of different tops, cut them up and then pieced them back together, jigsaw-style, in to one new horrific top.
-
Mind you, it has Genting.
Haven't they binned us?
EDIT as Legion said.
-
That's got to be concept drawing of a training top. Any leak surely would have no sponsor as opposed to the old one.
-
I'm not sure a deal has been done either way yet, that's what I was told last week, but I'm not sure how old that news was. I know no-one would make a decision until our fate was known, not that that is particularly surprising.

I, erm, quite like it. Not as a strip to play in mind.

As a training top it's different. As a football shirt it's utter gash.

I think if you changed the collar to claret, and got rid of the horrible pale yellow bit, it would be quite nice.

ouch!

The white Reebok kit with the turquoise AST and the claret knitted collar was my favourite kit, superb that was. Third kit wasn't it?
-
The Lion's not even juggling a star.
Yep, surely there's no way having gone to lengths they did to create the new badge and add the star that they will be producing a shirt, training or otherwise with it not being on display.
-
I want one

it starts off badly, tails off in the middle and the less said about the bottom the better

Anyone seen the palaver over the new Everton crest? The Latin maxim ''Only the best will do'' has been obliterated.

According to an Everton fan I'm working with, the club inadvertantly let the copyright lapse on the old crest meaning that they could no longer use it.....

Much like they forgot to offer Dan Gosling a new contract so he ended up leaving for Newcastle on a free.
-
They've apologised to the fans for not consulting them and that they will do so next season as it's too late to change plans for 13/14 now. So now the supporters know that all the new merch they buy will be dated this time next year.
-
Isn't it vaguely ironic that their marketing department who make much of their 'people's club' tag then go and prove how much they actually don't give a flying fish for 'the people's ' opinion?
-
The new badge does look crap. Looks like some kid did it on Paint. I wouldn't be happy if I was an Everton fan.
And I did love this comment on one of the articles about it. Well it amused me anyway.

Yep, pretty much how I feel about our badge. Still don't like it, doubt I ever will.

Indeed.
Everton's new badge is nowhere near as hideous as ours.
-
Agreed. Our new badge is shite, it doesn't even have "Aston Villa" written on it and the lion is more roly-poly than rampant.
-
"Insipid" was the word a total neutral (Ross County fan) described our badge, and I couldn't disagree.
-
Sorry fellas but I like the badge except that it doesn't have Aston Villa on it.
When I buy Aston Villa I wil be sure to correct it.
-
The 70s/80s round one please, slappers.

This, I think it's OK when you look at some of the modernised crests other teams have got. Ours is just an updated version of something we had years ago. The lion against a sky blue background had been done:
Our current badge is better than the one we had through the 90's and most of the 00's. Not particularly bothered about 'Aston Villa' not being on it, some of the biggest clubs in the world only have acronyms on their crest, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Dortmund, Porto, Benfica and AC Milan to name just a few.
Personally I would go back to the rounded shield if I had a choice, although no star.
-
it's not a big deal to me. Put a great product on the pitch and the badge issue becomes irrelevant.
-

+1
-
it's not a big deal to me. Put a great product on the pitch and the badge issue becomes irrelevant.
This X 10 (but replace product with team)
Same goes for the kit.
I'd even go as far as replacing the Lion Rampant with Malandro's dog if we were to get a league winning side.
-
Where would we be without a debate about the badge? Jesus!

Sorry, just wanted to clarify, reason I said product is that a good team that doesn't produce won't do. I recall during the QPR match thread someone saying that QPR's team on paper was better than ours, but as they showed clearly to everyone they were shit. Same way that I think a lot of people would take Man City's team over Man U's but in terms of end product it wasn't even close. I want to be able to relate to the players and have them play with a style and attitude we can all get behind. Ultimately one that produces and delivers results.
-
My favourite away was a white one with diagonal stripe on it

We would be in Heaven?

I prefer the one that's third from the left. A little subtle updating and that would look best for me.
-
You can tell a Villa supporter's age by what they say the proper badge is.
-
That's kind of what the new one is. And why my dad likes it.
-
Without kit changes, Doug and MON we'd have nothing to talk about.
-
It isn't the concept behind the current badge that I don't like. I don't mind the colours, I don't mind the shield shape, I don't really mind the AVFC too much (although that poll they did for it was the worst designed poll I've ever seen).
In fact, the concept of it was better than that of the one it replaced.
It is the execution of it that I don't like. It looked like a junior designer twatted it out on MS Paint in his lunch break. A junior designer with an abysmal selection of fonts.
-
My favourite away was a white one with diagonal stripe on it
mine too , if it had acornes on would be the dog's
-
Have to say I quite like the simple blue AV one with the lion above.

Acornes? The nominative masculine plural of the latin 'acornis'?
Trendy sort aren't you?

The LDV thing was like a brick tied to the shirt. Awful.
-
Have to say I quite like the simple blue AV one with the lion above.
I agree, I generally like badges without the shield behind them.
I don't like yellow on light blue of the current badge, it just doesn't contrast nicely. Yellow lion on a claret field with blue edging I'd be happy with. I also don't like the lion wearing a pair of mittens, it needs to have claws. Finally I hate the AVFC being on the shield. Add it just above or below and it would be fine.
-
My favourite away was a white one with diagonal stripe on it

Yes thats it, not fussed on the ldv either but diagonal with acorns would be the dogs ! Also liked the blue pinstripe away kit on white background kit from a few years ago

The Mellberg away shirt is possibly my all time favourite away shirt. Gorgeous.
Perhaps I am wrong in this and may well be being tainted by the European Cup final, but is it fair to say that white is our traditional away kit?
The Bitters for example, I would say their away kit has over the last twenty plus years been yellow and green.
-

there was the time in the early 90s when Bobby Gould had the away colours changed to Red and Yellow stripes because he wanted them to look more like Roy Race' s Melchester Rovers

Possibly correct, but I remember Yellow & Blue being our away kit for several seasons, too.
-
Wet Spam's new Adidas kits don't look too bad...the away one is exactly what' ours should look like. Maybe we should inform the Macron design team of this.

My first away shirt in early 70's was the yellow shirt with blue collar with v neck with number 4 in blue on the back for Bruce Rioch

At least the mullet shorts appear to have gone!

The home kit is ugly. White collar and white stripes over claret and blue! No thanks.

So, when do we find out?
-
So, when do we find out?
Mid June or thereabouts, unless it is leaked off course.
-
Why do we have to wait so long ? And when will the kit be available ?
-
I don't like it when Villa home strips have white collars - thankfully they don't come along too often. The LDV/Dion Dublin top of 1998 springs to mind.
-
Surprised to see we haven't had a yellow away kit for 8 years. Doesn't seem that long ago when yellow was a very frequent away kit for us
-
That Leeds kit is gash. Lazio's is as good as I've seen by Macron. Let's hope ours is more like theirs.
-
The Lazio kit is pretty smart but if they want it to be a big seller they should have embroidered swastikas into it.

Me too. Nice and simple. That's what I didn't like about this year's kit - too fussy, but just looked cheap.
That Leeds shirt is absolutely revolting.

Their home kit is an epic fail.
-
If our kit looks anything like that leeds one I wont be touching it with a bargepole. Looks like its designed by a f'ing 10year old boy - im surprised it doesnt have a jet pack drawn on the back. When will they learn about putting those stupid male toilet signs on the shoulders as well? Having said that, the Lazio ones are really nice, that would do nicely.
The thing for me this year is quality. last year the fabric felt cheap and horrible, the toilet signs started peeling off the shoulders, the label peeled off the inside, the claret was the wrong colour and the sleeves started fraying. Absolute garbage to be quite frank, Nike may not have been original but all my nike kits are still in great nick....
-
The new kits come out on the 15th June and yet no sneak previews have been leaked yet, for shame.

Same here. The link didn't work either.

Pravda was down yesterday too apparently, saw the apology for it on Twitter.
Had a dream last night that the new kits were inspired by the Asics 93-95 efforts. I wouldn't be against a temporary return to stripes, it doesn't do any harm. More importantly, my dreams are pretty shit aren't they?
-
Sneak preview didn't work the first time I clicked on it, but was fine the second time. Collars look good, is one kit in halves?

The 3rd one (the dark blue thing) I can at least see what they were going for.
The 2nd looks like the generic kits you can get for sunday league teams, I think my old side had a kit pretty similar to it tbh.
-
to be fair any football kit with a liver bird on it makes me vomit, so these tops fit right in

Those Liverpool away/third kits are the worst two you'll see in the Prem this season by a mile, as was their purple catastrophe last term.

I am confused. I followed that link to Villatalk, a place I haven't been to in about 3 years, and there was no red ink from the moderators telling people off. Have they mellowed over there?

Now, if that's it I'll be getting one. I suppose having a decent sponsor on the front will help too. I know this isn't ever happening, but that top with no sponsor would be the dog's bollocks. Either that or available as a golf shirt.

But why not? Lazio and Napoli don't have them on theirs. Maybe Macron are afraid of reprisals from their compatriots.
The collar preview of the home reminds me of the 2002/03 (Gregory/Taylor) home kit. Tommy Hitz's breakthrough. Hendrie with two beautiful goals in a 3-2 home win over Everton. Crouch wit a couple, though not many, after signing on deadline day, Darius' best season(?) and Oyvind and Kinsella, providing, er, experience to our midfield.
-
Collar on the home looks awful. I hated that 2002 version as well

Apparently with the Black and White badge it's understood that the away kit will be Black and White also.
Can't see a B&W badge on the home shirt.
Not sure if it is a 'Marshall', but, I do think it's a bit of an educated guess
-

my Liverpool mates are well pissed off with it. Love it.

Those Liverpool shirts cant be legit, surely?
They're never the most fashionable but those concepts look like characters from the Sims designed by Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder.
-

That was one of our better home shirts. Its a shame the team that wore it was the one beaten twice in the derbys and were so poor in Graham Taylor's comeback season. We started with a strike force of Angel, Allback, Dublin, Crouch and Vassell - a killer line up yet we still struggled.
-
Though I seriously dislike Macron I have to say I like the black and white Villa badge. Hope they use it on the away kit!

I see Newcastle are going to have Wanka across their fronts

With the black and white badge, the away kit might have been inspired by the 89-90 away kit.

Liverpool fan I know on Facebook says those two designs of theirs were fakes put on twitter to wind people up and their away kit is just plain white.

agree . why not all white , even all black I would not mind. But ruins a classic shirt for me . Still better than some we have had.
-
I love it, and I will be investing I believe. Simple design. I still would have loved to have seen a yellow with blue trim retro design as a third kit.
Has anyone got any info as to the sponsor? Read someone throwing around Fiat which would again be simple and "classy" I suppose
-
Looks like Spurs' Admiral kit circa 1978
-
Isn't this a black and white photo? which would mean the collar is probably claret?

I don't think so. The club have been promoting the black and white Villa badge which suggests the away kit is of that combination. Course we could all be wrong.
-
I would like to point out that there is no guarantee this is the actual shirt. It's just the one doing the rounds. I like it though, apart from the half and half collar.
-
The home one looks pretty good from what you can see. One of my favourite tops of recent years was the 2002 rover one with the 50's / 60's collar - shame about the derby results that season but I thought that shirt was proper class.
Like the black and white away top too reminds me somewhat of the Hummel one. That was very good
-
I like the half and half collar, it gives it that little quirk that would be missing otherwise.
-
Yeah really good apart from half and half collar.
agree . why not all white , even all black I would not mind. But ruins a classic shirt for me . Still better than some we have had.
Looking at it, an all black collar would have been my choice. Kind of reminds me of this shirt (without the black sleeves):
-
That's a proper smart kit. Probably won't look so nice when it's got "WONGA" plastered across the front of it though.
-
I don't like the half & half collar, but the rest is good.
I quite like the black and white collar – it sums us up. Good and bad halves... negative and positive... moody but light-hearted.
Heroes and villains even!
Better than being just grey anyway.
-
I like it apart from the half and half collar I will still buy one.
-
It looks great until you find out we've signed a 4-year shirt sponsorship deal with the manufacturers of HEDGEHOG GUTTER BRUSH.

here's a few great choices
Top company names...er..or not (http://nedhardy.com/2010/10/19/25-really-bad-business-names/)
-
I really hope we've got a sponsor tied up, it seems so small time that a team in the Premier League would struggle to get one.

We've sunk to a new low.
-

Perhaps we're doing a Bayern Munich type 'what's a few million to us' when it would ruin the look of the shirt?
it would look smart with the Acorns actual acorn icon.

8 down on the mocks its great
-
If it is fake, it probably won't be a million miles away. The collar seems almost spot on looking at the website and we are aware the badge is out there. So unless there is some wierd Liverpool away "three shirts sewn together" for the body, how much wrong can it be.

out of curiosity, you know the collar is correct so what else didn't you like about the body which is all white?
-
It looks cheap and nasty.
-
I don't think it's necessarily fake, the advertisement pictures on the official site seem to look exactly like that collar.
-
I'd have that white top, no worries.

Fair enough I suppose. Not sure how you get that from the picture. But each to their own and all that

Marshall with too much time on his hands, its fake. Someone on Twatter rekons no sponsor name on the kiddies shirts again which must mean Drink/betting/pay day loan company are going to sponser us.I still think its Carling.

It certainly is fake. I posted a description of both new kits on here weeks ago as I know someone who knows one of the girls in the Villa Ladies team who had seen the kits. I was mocked by people basically saying "how would someone in the ladies team get to see the new kit?".
Well the official site now says that some of the ladies team have posed in the new kit for its unveiling. So we'll see next week then.

It is a fake, I only did it based on what the previews showed which was a split collar with white and another dark colour, The badge was taken from the AVFC Twitter page, care to share what the kits looks like again to see if it is the same I have hear
-
so you're saying it could actually be a chequered design? You also mentioned blue/purple squares which doesn't fit in with the whole black/white thing they have going on.

That is what people have siad that have sen the kit, I have no idea on what it look like, That is why I asked they guy on here how has seen it to explain what it looks like agian
-
They've had to change the colour of the away shirt at the last minute due to the sponsor.
Which is Al Jolson.
-
A mate of mine knows one of the girls who plays for the Villa ladies team and she has seen the new kits.
Apparently the home kit does indeed have blue sides beneath the sleeves. The away kit is supposedly (don't shoot the messenger) white and blue/purple squares! As my mate commented - she said its really nice, but then she is a girl.
Like this, as I have read posts by people on other forums saying the same things. The kits below are also based on the previews. I also know the collar on the home is not quite right

Grown men wearing football shirts who are a) not at the football and b) not playing football.
That is a sight you don't want to see. But the new kit will create waves of them in new street. Just pottering around, going no where in particular. Just going about their business like a zombie.

I have not seen an Albion top since i moved here. I have seen a Nose top though, and the same bloke has a shitty sticker in the back window of his van. I have on more than one occasion written Villa in the dust on his window. Childish i know, but it does make me smile and it seems to wind him up no end.

I've never understood the intense dislike that so many people have of people wearing their teams shirts. I'd much rather wear a Villa shirt than any of the tacky "fashion" stuff they sell in the club shop.

Only if the person is a sad sack. I wore my 80/81 shirt into town the other day. I had no urge to to wear matching shorts and socks.
When me and Mr Sox were driving through Wigan to the ground we saw someone with their kid and both were wearing full Everton kits. I have to say someone as we honestly weren't sure if the adult was male or female.
-
World cup is in Brazil next year. That means our supermarket shopping, football fashion shirt wearing fraternity will be wearing what?
-
Pongo Waring? Eddie Waring?
-
I can understand fully on the occasion getting out your 82 top to go out for a pint with the lads. If you however go the extra several steps of pulling out a full kit, socks and boots then you're a right sad bastard. And especially if you're then sporting a massive gut, and trying to act all nonchalent on a train with browsing the morning broadsheet. Like look at me, mixing it with the football's common man and the upper strata of society. It's taking trying too hard to an all new level.
-
Tricky one is this. Each to their own but here are mine.
Full kits <= 14 years old. No other excuse unless playing for a gane for a team.
Football Tops are ok going to, during and after game. Removing said tops for any reason other than being treated by medical personnel or being savaged by a herd of fit birds should not occur.
Football Tops are ok on holiday abroad preferably. People abroad who are wearing glory hunter tops should be either ignored or ridiculed. The former is easier, the latter more fun.
Football tops as a casual piece of attire in the off season is ok provided they fit suitably and are size S, M or L. No exceptions unless you are taller than Peter Crouch.
-
There is no excuse for a football shirt post-puberty.

Trying to be fair to the 'full-kit wanker' here - maybe he's on his way to or from football training? It still wouldn't be my choice of attire but makes it slightly less ridiculous.
-

I think that's a bit harsh, age-wise. I do think there's something wrong with slightly flabby 30 something blokes wearing them, but each to their own.
I do make an exception for retro shirts, though. They are acceptable.
-
I wear my old villa kits to the gym or when playing five-a-side. Lock me up.
Edit. Not full-kit obviously.

You are giving him way, way too much credit. Let's look at the evidence:
He's not coming from or going to football training. He's just finished off eating a small child or several bacon and chip butty's.
He's gone to the effort of full Villa regalia. Commendable I grant you, and I am sure the Villa Merchandising Manager will want a photo of this chap up in the club shop. But it's a grown up wearing top, shorts and socks. It's ludicrous.
We've all played football at varying levels or just kicking it about with mates. It's common to wear a tracksuit, running bottoms, something...Instead he's gone to the effort with great intent of not doing any of that. My guess is his mum put his kit out for him on his bed earlier in the day, including freshly ironed shorts and socks.
I rest my case m'lord

Being of maturing years (51), I avoid the full on top approach these days and go for something a bit more subtle. Like my 'Trinity Road' T shirt which is claret and just has a print of the road sign for Trinity Road on it with B16. If I ever do wear a football top, it would be abroad where I like to show off the fact I support the greatest team in the world to all those who aren't so fortunate......which is everyone else of course
-

It's a good one for sorting out real football fans from the gloryhunters when they look at it, which down here is a ratio of about 1 to 500. You get the odd knowing look but most people just wonder why the hell you are walking around with the name of a road on your T shirt

I rarely buy the replica shirts as I'm unlikely to ever wear them (other than when I play football), but I would buy the Aston Villa equivalent of these t-shirts (http://shop.mlb.com/product/index.jsp?productId=20870186&cp=1452340.1452371.1452360.1452527.1665472#green). In fact I'd probably buy several claret t-shirtswith a crest on the front and different players' names and squad numbers on the back. Presumably clubs in general don't offer them as they sign deals with replica shirt manufacturers and they would dilute the market too much?

Haven't bought a shirt since the Acorns one but am going on a stag do to Benidorm end of the month, 52 of us and there is only me and one other who are Villa fans. Around 45 of them are Albion (and most actually go) so I think a shirt purchase just might be in order!
I only knew 2 a couple of years ago, now all the woodworkers have come out I now know 45 lol

Either that or he works in a job centre.

You'd do better with a flamethrower.

Priceless D.W ;D
-
I can't think of anything worse than going on holiday with 45 Stripeyfilth fans. They'll be constantly reminding you that 'they know what they are' and going to UB40 tributes over there.
-
They'll do well to cover up all their old Liverpool/Man Utd tattoos (back from when they supported them and smethwick were in league one) if they're out in the sun all day.
-
Most of them will point in fear at the aircraft and won't make it to their destination.

A smaller version of Wolves. They love being told that.

Priceless D.W ;
AK47 for when youve absolutely positively got to kill every motherfucker in the room. :)
-
I know it would'nt be financially viable but it would be nice to see the Cure Leukemia logo on the new shirts for maybe a season.
-
Dafabet are the new Sponsors
-
New sponsor is Dafabet apparently.
-
Dafuck?
-
Who are Dafabet?
-
They also sponsor Everton who are an Asian online betting website
-
Had never heard of 'em. Their UK website is down- under construction.
Just saying like.
-
They also sponsor Everton
And Albion.
-
Better half mis-heard me.
"Eh, what, Daft to bet?"
-
They also sponsor Everton who are an Asian online betting website
I thought Everton were a football club.

From the OS.The Club is pleased to welcome Dafabet as our Official Main Club Sponsor having entered into a two-year agreement.
A leading Asian online betting website, Dafabet has grown rapidly over the past 18 months and is now established as one of the top sportsbook brands in the world.
In 2012 Dafabet was ranked 21st in the prestigious eGaming Review Power 50 list of online gaming operators.
As part of the agreement, the Dafabet logo will feature on the home and away Villa shirts and the company will enjoy a host of sponsorship benefits.
"We're pleased to announce our partnership with Dafabet," said Villa Chief Executive Paul Faulkner.
"There is a real sense of excitement, anticipation and optimism as we look forward to the new season, building on the solid foundations we have in place.
"This will be a good and positive partnership for the Club and we are looking forward to working together with Dafabet as we continue to build and move the Club forward.
"Crucially for us, during negotiations Dafabet displayed a strong willingness to work with us in our continued support for Acorns and we look forward to progressing some ideas around that in the near future."
Dimitris Karatzas, Managing Director of Online Betting and Gaming at AsianBGE, said: "After entering the Premier League last season as international betting partners to two clubs, we saw the increased potential of becoming an official club sponsor.
"All of the team here are football mad, supporting sides from all around the world. It's no cliché to say we love, live and breathe the game with extreme passion.
"It's a very significant and proud moment for us to form such a partnership with Aston Villa, a side steeped in tradition.
"We are delighted to see Dafabet on the front of such a well-recognised shirt and to be associated with a club respected throughout the footballing world. I am sure all the fans will agree the kit looks great.
"We look forward to the new season and hope this partnership continues well into the future."
John Cruces, Head of Sponsorships at Dafabet added: "The Premier League is second to none in the world of football, simply speaking it's the most exciting and recognised league in the world.
"To be associated with one of the oldest and most successful clubs in England will help us achieve our aim of making Dafabet a household name - not just in Asia, where the majority of our playersare currently from, but worldwide."
Acorns Chief Executive David Strudley said: "The ongoing support shown by the Club and fans for Acorns is immeasurable and clearly demonstrated by their efforts to include us in their discussions with Dafabet.
"We are extremely grateful to both AVFC and Dafabet in what is a crucial year as we celebrate 25 years of caring and look to a future where we can help to provide care and support to each of the 2,000 plus life-limited and life-threatened children in the region."
-
So another two years that kids wont be able to have kits that their 'heroes' wear....poor show IMHO, though in a disposable market I guess we cant be too bothered about our future customers :-(
On the flip side the logo isnt too offensive
-
We seem to have a thing for gambling companies. 32Red, Genting and now these lot. Anybody know if they are paying more then Genting were?
-
They also sponsor Everton
And Albion.
I thought that was Zoopla.
-
It's the way of the world, even some of the bigger clubs in Italy, Spain and Germany have gone that way in recent years.
The name does sound a bit shit and pun- tastic though.
-

Wouldn't be too bad if it was small and to the right of the crest as in the picture.
-
At least it is plain and simple and doesn't have all that chinese lettering.
-
Another gambling company. Not good.
-

I don't like Kids having a sponsor on their shirts apart from charity ones and If I could I would prefer to buy an Adult shirt without it on. But as you say at least the logo is not offensive
-
It would be nice if we could get long-term sponsorship with a non-gmabling insititution.
-

I'd rather a shirt without a sponsor name on anyway. Kids shouldn't be walking billboards.
-
Bag o' shite. I ain't buying the shirt now. Probably.
-

Printing on the shirts should be cheaper.
-
I've never heard of them before. How low have we sunk.
-
I've never heard of them before. How low have we sunk.
Even our sponsership deals aren't safe from the Lambert philosophy.
-
At least it's not Wonga. Don't particularly like gambling firms sponsoring us, but these pay day loans companies are far worse in my view.
-
I've never heard of them before. How low have we sunk.
Their UK website is great.http://sportsbook.dafabet.com/dafabet-uk-coming-soon/index.php
-

I thought that was Zoopla.
They're not their shirt sponsor just 'official partners', as they are with Everton I believe.
-
WOW they came 21st out of 50 online Casino's. What a coup
-
Another gambling company. Not good.
Agreed, i would have hoped we could have attracted a better known sponsor with a well known product but i guess money talks.
-
I've never heard of them before. How low have we sunk.

So they don't even have a working website? Just gets worse.

Been a long time since i was happy with the sponsor on the shirt , probably the rover days .
Even yogurts were not too bad compared to recent times .
-
It's a two year deal. They are obviously offering us the best deal right now. I'm sure if we do better on the pitch and raise our profile through our results the next go around we'll have higher profile sponsors wanting to be associated with us. I don't see the big deal. Spurs had Mansion for 4 years and now have Aurasma, which I am sure gets the piss taken out of for what it sounds like. Everything we do commercially is linked to our profile in the game. We need to trust Lambert to improve us on the pitch and like the stadium debate, things will improve in turn off it.
-
Saunders could make some money by doing ads for them : "Do you wanna Dafabet agaonst us?"
-

Cows was was the worst.

Another gambling company. Not good.
You mean you don't like it? I'm absolutely stunned at that.
-
A tad underwhelming as far as sponsors go I suppose. Is it tomorrow they are revealing the kits online or did I dream that?
-
A tad underwhelming as far as sponsors go I suppose. Is it tomorrow they are revealing the kits online or did I dream that?
Yes it is tomorrow.
-
As long as it is not a pay day loan or one of those instant cash for your stuff places, I really could not give a hoot. Gambling companies are paying the most then so be it at the moment. I hope they are paying a good sum per season, and if so then I hope we improve on the pitch to a point that a non gambling company sees us as viable. Until then, the highest bidder it is.
-
A tad underwhelming as far as sponsors go I suppose. Is it tomorrow they are revealing the kits online or did I dream that?
Yes it is tomorrow.
Nice one, thanks.
-

Oooh, get you!
-
This is one time we really can blame Paul Faulkner.
-
I like the fact that my season tickets cost £100 or so less because of them.
I can guarantee that they'll get exactly the same as the revenue I gave Genting though.
-
They also sponsor Everton
And Albion.
I thought that was Zoopla.

Acorns wasn't that long ago. Although out of the paying sponsors, I'd agree that Rover was the last decent one. We then replaced Rover with 'Cows' and it has been downhill ever since.
-
I can guarantee that they'll get exactly the same as the revenue I gave Genting though.
Me too. It would have been different if Paddy Power were the new sponsors mind.
-
It's the way of the world now. Gambling seems to be recession proof and their money is just as good as anybody elses.
We'd all love a local firm like Cadburys but why would they compromise their very heathy position by sponsoring us ? They'd lose loads of custom from blues and albion fans almost overnight.
-
We want the club to have money to help pay for the new contracts and new players we want to see the club making, and this is obviously the sponsor who are offering the best deal. We can't have it all ways.
-

I don't think if cadburys sponsored villa fans of other clubs would stop eating their chocolate .
Carlsberg sponsored Liverpool and Samsung Chelsea but i wouldn't not drink their lager or buy their phone because they sponsored another team .
-
This is one time we really can blame Paul Faulkner.
What for? - for negotiating the best possible financial deal for the club?
I suppose he couldd have gone out and sold the rights to Villa Park - how does the "The FlyBe Stadium in Aston" sound? Or the "Aston Ale Arena"?
I don't know how much we're being paid for this deal but I suspect PF and Lerner are no mugs at the commercial stuff. We have been crap on the field for three seasons and - like everthing else - it's the on-pitch performance that determines the finances.
-
Change the subject slightly - where will all the extra tv money we get next season go to?
-

On the other hand Cadburys are owned by Kraft nowadays and could even Blues and Albion fans go without that fantastic squirty cheese? I think not.
-

Ireland's wages I should imagine.
-
Change the subject slightly - where will all the extra tv money we get next season go to?
An offshore account on the Caymans.
-
Wickedpedia reckons it's worth £70 million to us over 2 seasons, that's a cracking deal if it's true.

I doubt if a company as huge as Cadbury would worry what a few hundred Baggie and Sty Dwellers get upset about. ;-)

It won't be close to that. That's just a number somebody made up.
As for the topic of the sponsor, some people would rather have a name that is more fashionable even if it means less money. I really don't get that.

But as we're cutting wages across the squad would we be giving them pay rises from next season?

It will be interesting to know what they paid for the deal.

Aston Ale Arena does have a ring to it...
-
I've never heard of them but then again I've never heard of half of the companies who sponsor Premier League teams nowadays. It's not a pay day loan type company so fair enough.
-
Don't like it, don't care if they offered the most cash. It's probably the only thing I'm a puritanical little Hitler about; there's a lot of people that suffer with addiction to gambling, and the only people that get rich out of it are the bookies. It should be illegal to advertise it in my view.
God, I'm such a boring shite.

What did Genting pay us ?
-
I'm with others, as long as it's not a pay day loan company I'm not too bothered. I don't gamble and it's not going to encourage me to. Not that a pay day loan company would encourage me to take out a loan. My head could be turned, however, if we were sponsored by the likes of Radley.
-
WOW they came 21st out of 50 online Casino's. What a coup
They probably share our aspirations to join the Deloitte top 20.

Although when Albion where sponsored by Quit Smoking it coincided with the time in my life when I started to smoke.

I like the fact that my season tickets cost £100 or so less because of them.

Considering it was his job at MBNA I would of expected Apple to give us £50 million a year and a free Mac book with every season ticket sold.Sorry replying to the wrong post but you get the gist.
I just hope its for bloody good money.

had a feeling someone might say that as I typed it!

I met a couple of the Directors of AsianLogic (Dafabet) at the G2E Asia gaming conference a couple of years back in Macau. Tom Hall, the founder of the company was a speaker. They are a very successful company who have presence in both online and land based gaming operations.

(not the place for it?)

This from Wikibollox on them :-
Sponsorship[edit]
In 2011, Football legend and popular TV pundit Alan Shearer signed as Asian Sports Ambassador for Dafabet and to introduce Shearer to the Asian sports community.[2][3]
New to the Premier League for the 2012/13 season, Everton[4][5] and West Bromwich Albion partners with Dafabet to bring the brand[6][7] to the Barclays Premier League at Goodison Park for further presence to the worldwide football audience.
Dafabet have been the principal sponsor of Players Tour Championship 2012/2013 – Finals, a professional ranking snooker tournament took place between 12–17 March 2013) [8][9] at the Bailey Allen Hall in Galway, Ireland.[10]

Couldn't agree more......do not approve of promoting gambling / payday loans / booze being sponsors on football shirts
I must be a boring shite too !!

Only in Asia though,What's the betting(i know I will ask our new sponsors) on an Asian pre season tour next year.
That will piss Lambert right off.

I can't remember the last time I bought the latest nylon fire-hazard of a rag that we call the shirt but my youngest likes to wear the full kit and he'll be gutted that he can't wear one the same a the players again next season.
Never mind though, it's all about the money afterall

I wouldn't want my kids being a walking billboard for any advertisement whatever business they're in.
-
If this money can keep Benteke at the club and maybe buy a few of his mates, then I don't care.
-
I can guarantee that they'll get exactly the same as the revenue I gave Genting though.
Don't worry. Strictly speaking, you can't actually use Dafabet in the uk anyway.

So basically you wouldn't be happy regardless of who were our sponsors, and did that include Acorns?

No, supporting charities is something to be proud of, and our ongoing association with Acorns is wonderful. My own niece spent most of her childhood receiving respite care from them, so it's something close to my heart You're right about one thing though, I much prefer the days before shirt sponsorship, but I guess that's just me being old fashioned, and shirt sponsorships are here to stay. I do find it strange that someone would prefer to see their kids walking around with advertisements on their shirts. Never understood that one.
-
The irony being is that our support of Acorns is probably more now that we have a short sponsor that actually gives us money
-
So unless it was a charity you wouldn't be happy. The days of no sponsorship were 30 years ago, times have changed, not necessarily for the better but it does seem to be complaining for the sake of it. I'm sure your kids have worn stuff with Nike on etc.
And who has said they prefer it?
You want us to sign someone like Lescott and his 90K a week wages, but then don't seem happy about us raising money.
-

Not at all. Shirt sponsorship is here to stay but I'd rather we steer clear of gambling companies and the like. I also think that by default all kids shirts are sold without the sponsor's name on it.
As for Lescott I'd like to think all the extra tv money we're about to receive could partly go towards his cost.
-

True. Still doesn't make it right though.

We are a club bankrolled by a man who inherited his wealth from his father, who made his fortune in founding and running a company which makes profit by encouraging people to go into debt, and applying high interest rates.
Anyone who has had an MBNA card will tell you how aggressive they are in seeking out new business, too. I get endless (printed) junk mail from them encouraging me to borrow more.
The online gambling industry is entirely dependent on credit card companies like MBNA. No credit card payments = no online gambling industry.
If you're going to be sniffy about gambling sponsors, then you really need to hold a similar moral attitude to Randy's fortune.
I think what people really want, if we can't give it to charity, is a fancy high profile sponsor. The reason we're not sponsored by Apple or Sony or someone like that is because there's not enough in it for them. They don't need us.
-
I couldn't give a toss who the sponsor is. But that's only because I'm so small I can easily fit into the largest boy's size shirt.
Possibly the only advantage of being a shortarse I have discovered to date.
-
Saunders Heroes in 'i'll moan about something, it's Tuesday' shock. It's getting boring.

I think what people really want, if we can't give it to charity, is a fancy high profile sponsor. The reason we're not sponsored by Apple or Sony or someone like that is because there's not enough in it for them. They don't need us.
Nah, I don't agree with you about credit cards being as bad as betting companies
You can justify anything if you want it bad enough,
but I wouldn't go a with a gambling company, I just don't think it's right

Saunders Heroes in 'i'll moan about something, it's Tuesday' shock. It's getting boring.
he does moan a lot, but he's right on this one
and I hope there is no one on here who is all for the betting company and was against Boltons loan sponsor, who they ditched I believe in the end,

If people have issues with pay day loan companies and gambling companies then it is hypocritical not to be against credit cards as well.
I know more people who have ended up fucked because of credit cards than I do from gambling or pay day loans.

You just said yourself, they're "not the same" - money lenders and betting companies.

We are a club bankrolled by a man who inherited his wealth from his father, who made his fortune in founding and running a company which makes profit by encouraging people to go into debt, and applying high interest rates.
Anyone who has had an MBNA card will tell you how aggressive they are in seeking out new business, too. I get endless (printed) junk mail from them encouraging me to borrow more.

but people get into financial trouble with both if used irresponsibly. I don't see how some can take the moral high ground on one not on the other. It's funny, because lots of people would be happy with say MBNA or VISA on the front because it is perceived as more reputable yet they make their billions off ludicrous interest rates with people who cannot pay their bills.
-
Bolton's pay day loan sponsors wanted their profile raised for their business in this country - plunging people into debt at offensive interest rates.
Dafabet are sponsoring us for one reason only - to get their name on shirts on Asian television.

Lets calm it down a bit please folks. It's summer, we're signing players and it's sunny. Well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad! Be a real shame to spoil things by having to wave the banning stick around.

I'm sure the club will cope with the millions on offer from Dafabet and without the £50ish I won't be spending on being an advert for yet another betting firm.
Fair play to the club for keeping the kit design under wraps for this long, though- I'd have expected a leak by now.

Whoops sorry, meant keen. Can't even blame predictive text.
Can't see how this is going to help us "reach out" to local community who are mainly Muslim. My son is living in Malaysia and when I send him villa tops for friends and colleagues they always ask for no sponsor logo.

Sad bastard alert, but when Tonev signed I zoomed in to the picture to look at the material of the training top he had on and it was that mesh looking material that we had on the first Nike, Acorns sponsored kit a few seasons back. By far the best material in recent years which I sincerely hope they have used on the new kits also. Off course I am bound to be wrong.

Yeah I zoomed in as well. Quite like the look of Tonev's shirt even though it was a bit too like what something West Ham would serve up. All the others I've seen look very nice though.
-
I'm actually a bit jealous of West Ham and their adidas deal. Villa with the three stripes would be preferable over the symbol of a man drowning.
-
Once again I'll not be forking out £45+ for a replica shirt with a fucking betting company on it. AGAIN!

I've seen two tops that i like. I did'nt like any of the casual or training wear they did last season.

That's because last season's stuff looked like they were designed by some chav on Northfield high street. Credit where it's due, a vast improvement.

the white matchday anthem jacket is quite lovely. I might have to invest in that
-
I'm actually a bit jealous of West Ham and their adidas deal. Villa with the three stripes would be preferable over the symbol of a man drowning.
The modern Adidas kits look awful in my opinion. Three stripes would ruin the shirt. I made a quick mock up of the style Adidas are good at with the old Villa crest:
If they made kits like that, fair enough. But Adidas manufacture for too many shit teams now and have lost their prestige. Stoke, Sunderland, Swansea, Derby? I'd rather have Macron, honestly.
-
I'm actually a bit jealous of West Ham and their adidas deal. Villa with the three stripes would be preferable over the symbol of a man drowning.
I thought both the Swansea kits last season were both excellent. Simple and classic designs.
-
I don't see what's so good about Adidas?
I'd rank the current manufacturers: Umbro > Puma > Adidas > Nike > all the smaller companies like Joma, Macron, Errea and so on.
-
I'm actually a bit jealous of West Ham and their adidas deal. Villa with the three stripes would be preferable over the symbol of a man drowning.
I don't like the white. Villa's colours are claret and blue. Period. Those West Ham kits, and some of the mock ups I have seen, contain a lot of white.

It's a "mock-up" thing, but if that's close to the new away kit, I like it!
Wouldn't buy it, but Santa might be getting a letter up his chimney! ;-)
-
I think that could be fairly close. The only differences being the panels are the wrong way round, the badge itself will be a different colour and the collar is two colours and a different shape.
-
so apart from that .....

It's the badge!
It's the same on fu**in' everything!

Black and white

Black and white
Nice idea.
Just can't see it happening.
The regulation badge seems to be on everything!

There was something very similar to that in style a couple of years ago except it was more of a rain coat. I got it, but a white coat/jacket gets dirty very easily.

I stand corrected.

Maybe getting the sponsor will change things?

If you're going to be sniffy about gambling sponsors, then you really need to hold a similar moral attitude to Randy's fortune.
I am and I do. Having once had the misfortune to work on a IS project with a very large Vegas-casino, I know firsthand how they intentionally wreck people's life. All for just a few dollars more.
Credit card companies are not an awful lot better with their aggressive targeting of vulnerable people.
-
If anyone reading this is in financial trouble, you should be aware that unsecured debt is like no debt at all. Fuck 'em, you don't have to pay.
Now you know that, take some more professional advice from CAB or someone like that.

Edited for talking bollocks :o

Here in the UK, all forms of gambling is controlled by the British Gambling Commission. They determine the rules on advertising by insuring that all companies follow the laws set in the licensing conditions and codes of practice (LCCP). Also, all gambling establishments have to follow stringently the Corporate & Social Responsibilty practices (CSR) or for online gambling ECOGRA, in order to hold licenses.
To comply with government requirements, training is given to each member of staff every six months to enable them to recognise gambling addictions and how to approach it.
If anyone on here has a gambling problem and wants help, please either contact me by pm, or directly contact GamCare on the address below.
http://www.gamcare.org.uk/
They are a non -profit charitable organisation that are very good in helping people with gambling issues.

My money will be on something like this
-
If you look at what Weimann is wearing on the teaser ad, there looks to be some stitching across the collar which isn't on the mock up above.
-
as much as i like that, a man ITK over on VT has been saying the away is white and black currant quarters for what seems like a month now
he seems pretty sure

Credit card companies are not an awful lot better with their aggressive targeting of vulnerable people.
We support a team in what might be the most commercially-orientated sports league in the world. Massive pressures are put on supporters, who are traditionally drawn from some of the poorer sections of society, to spend their last penny on their club. In fact, the most powerful ethos of the Premier League seems to be the fear that someone, somewhere, is spending money that they aren't getting. Yet we complain about the ethics of a club sponsor.

Take it the new kits not online yet - checking on here as I'm assuming as soon as it appears on the official site it will be posted on here.

Well, the club sponsor was the topic and I don’t feel my stance is very dramatic. It won't stop me supporting Villa but I happen to detest the gambling industry and would much prefer we weren't associated with it. There's nothing more to it. This is not an exercise in moral rectitude; like most people I compromise my morals all too often so I claim no particular moral high ground.

I'm not saying it is or it isn't. I just find it strange how we're happy to support a club that signs up to such a finance-driven ethos - indeed, we encourage it - then dislike one aspect of it.
-
Footballers earn insane amounts of money for playing a game, and their stupendous salaries are squeezed from supporters often drawn from the less well off. They get cheered by those same supporters, who would happily lynch a banker for screwing the poor. Logic has nothing to do with football whatsoever.
-
I have to agree with Dave on this.
-
Looking on the official site for some details of when the kit will be up I noticed a couple of interesting things:
Villa have once again created a special ladies kit ahead of the coming term as Joe Hunt's lionesses get set for their first season in the Women's Super League
I remember someone posting something about a member of the ladies team confirming that it was white and purple quarters - could that be a ladies only kit?
The home kit is described by merchandising chiefs as "in keeping with tradition" while the away strip is "modern and vibrant."
The black and white mock-up we've seen on here is very nice but I don't think it could ever be called 'vibrant'.
I know we;ve not got long to wait now but I found it quite interesting, I kind of wish I'd bothered to read that page sooner.
-
I reckon midday we will see the new kit - hoping the away is not white but i think it will be.

I don't like having a gambling sponsor on the front of the shirt, and nothing you say is going to make me like it,
I think it sends out the wrong message to youngsters, and we would have been better staying clear,
now that's my opinion, other people have no problem with having them as a sponsor, I have no problem with them having no problem with it either, but for me I personaly would rather something different
as others have said its no big deal, just a view on a sponsor, I have been asked if I bet, if i'm going to cheer when we score a goal, if I use credit cards, all in an attempt to try and make me feel a bit hypocritical,
well if I am fair enough, its not going to change my support for Villa, and its not going to change the fact that I would rather not have a gambling company on the front of the Villa shirt

And if the same supporters jeer or boo, they are derided by club, media and other fans.

I'd really like something like this.

-
good timing for me . just sat down with tea
-
Wish those kids in China would get a move on. (jokes)
-
It's the best, it's the worst, it's not claret, it's not blue, it's tacky, it's sharp, it'll look crap on a 5/45 year old, the training stuff is better/worse, West Ham......etc etc
-
I actually like that away one
-
(http://www.avfc.co.uk/javaImages/9/2d/0,,10265~12004617,00.jpg)
-
Macron have done a good job.
-
Its ok, maybe a bit better than ok...but can't stand those socks
-
I quite like the away kit, much better than last seasons. The home kit I am undecided on probably not a massive fan.
-
Im happy with that .

-
yes very 82 . love the away one
-
I like them both - better than last year's in each case. Good work.
-
Macron have done a good job.
I like both of them. I can see the away being a big seller. I'm glad they went with claret and not purple squares as had been rumoured. At least they look purple.
-
I like the home kit , undecided as to the away kit at the moment but its different thats for sure.
-

How do you post a pic the way you have mate? Ive been a member for years and still can't work out how to
-
Both the home and away jerseys will offer players and fans a more slim-fit style from last season, offering maximum comfort.
I'm out
-
I love it all.
-
I love the home kit, not that fussed about the away one.
-
Home kit's awesome, but the away one's dreadful for me, preferred the lime green ones.
Still overall pretty good in my opinion though, well done Macron.
-
(http://www.avfc.co.uk/javaImages/9/2d/0,,10265~12004617,00.jpg)
Yeah, they'll do.

The goalkeeper's shirt is a bit Australian for my liking, but goalies' shirts are always horrible anyway.
Other than that, I like them.
-
Yes yes, I quite like them. Infinitely better than last season's abominations. Well done Macron!
-
Underwhelmed.
-
Home kit is lovely, away kit is a bold move, not too shabby at all, really like the 'keepers kit.
Nice one Villa.
-
Home looks great to be fair, Macron have done a much better job this year. Could have done with the icon in the Dafabet logo being white though on home kit
-
Are Marcron just going for the Nuts (or Zoo?) 'most stylish kit' award again?
That away kit is superb. Modern. Bold. Vibrant. Different.
-
The yellow sponsor logo on the home kit is in the spot where the badge was on the 82 kit
-
We need a Jorge Campos style goalkeeper shirt.

Referees are going to love us next season.
"You can't wear your home kit, it clashes with West Ham. What colour's your away strip?"
"Sort of claret and white"
"It clashes with West Ham. What colour's your third strip?"
"We don't have one"
-
I like. In the fashion world the side panelling is all the rage nowadays.
-
I like the socks!
Is that a collar on the home kit or is it just the appearance of a collar?
-
Like the home kit, really don't like the away kit.
-
Was never keen on the '82 shirt in '82, so certainly not keen on it now!
-
The home one is fine. The away one might take a bit of getting used to though.
-

Our green away is our 3rd kit this season.
-
For about 30 seconds I was all ughh :o
But on further reflection they are both ace
-
yes very 82
Is it deliberate that the sponser's logo on the home top is positioned to look like our best badge from those days too?!
I like them all... Except the socks, of course.
-
"Both the home and away jerseys will offer players and fans a more slim-fit style from last season, offering maximum comfort."
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
-
The home one is fine. The away one might take a bit of getting used to though.
Totally agree with you clampy!
-
Well Done villa and Macron both excellent.
-
Not a fan at all of the away kit, I like the home shirt overall but just to be picky I'm not keen on the collar, may be different though when I see it in the flesh
-
I'm not usually fussed as long as I see us celebrating a lot but that away kit is fuckin' rank.
-
Are Marcron just going for the Nuts (or Zoo?) 'most stylish kit' award again?
That away kit is superb. Modern. Bold. Vibrant. Different.
agree - impressionante. vedremo i cani palle in quel
-
Thumbs up from me. I can see us destroying the opposition in both of those kits.
-
They're alright.
Home would have been much better without that stripey neck thing.
-

they can wear the goalies shirt ;/
-
Note that the away one has the normal badge when everyone was convinced it would be black and white
-
Paul Lambert's White and Blackcurrant army
fucking blackcurrant?
-
Paul Lambert's White and Blackcurrant army
fucking blackcurrant?
it's purple Chico...purple..
-
Paul Lambert's White and Blackcurrant army
fucking blackcurrant?
we will leave stains on all the opposition
-
I have added a poll.
Only for the home kit to start with, I'll reset it and swap it for the away kit in a day or so.
-
Not a fan at all of the away kit, I like the home shirt overall but just to be picky I'm not keen on the collar, may be different though when I see it in the flesh
Same here. The collar on the home kit is just too fussy, especially with that weird pattern on the shoulder panels.
-
seems that ITK bloke over at VT was spot on with both. i like em. that said i liked the away much better on the player profile photos than the up close ones. it doesn't look half as dark up close
-
Paul Lambert's White and Blackcurrant army
fucking blackcurrant?
Just call it cassis. Makes it sound exotic.
-
Going to buy the home one on Saturday but will wait until the away one in a tenner next April.
-
Anyone else like the way the sponsor logo on the home kit has the round bit above the name rather than next to it?
Reminds me of the positioning of the round badge in 1982.
Also, just thinking, but I wonder if the reason we're keeping the lime green kit as a third kit is because it sold so well?

I said the same a couple of pages ago. A sponsor's logo replacing the classic round badge. The new badge is almost in the background on the home shirt

I noticed that the on-line store had a third kit section with no products in it. maybe they'll slot it into here once the initial sale mania for the new kits has died down.
-
I really like them thanks Macron.
-
Bout time the online store showed the kits in full .
-
Quite like the away one but not sure on the collar of the home one. In saying all that they usually look different in the flesh.
-
Like the new online Store, at last you can use your season ticket ref number to get the 10% discount!
-
Drums fingers.....
What about my fingers? And you missed the apostrophe....
-
I think I'd like the away better if it was half white and half blackcurrant rather than quarters.
-
http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10265~3206695,00.html
There is a fair bit of detailing in the new shirts, and looking at these close ups, maybe the quality will be ok.
On the whole, I very much like the look of these, well done Villa and Macron.
-
Not bad. I kind of like the away and GK because they're a bit different from the norm. Not sure about the blue running down the sides of the home shirt, but again, every few years we have to shake it up, and there's been worse I suppose.
I'll probably get the home shirt this season.
At least it's not Liverpools away shirt. Jaysus.
-
Don't like having gambling companies on our shirts. Aside from any moral questions concerned, they always look tacky and a bit skanky. Strikes me as a bit lacking in class to be honest. Nowt wrong with having a flutter, but I don't think you should advertise these on football shirts.
-
I really like the home one. Very 1981 Le Coq Sportif as was expected. My first instinct is that I quite like the away one too. I am very much in favour of a white away kit for Villa and this is a compromise in that direction.
-
I'll make my mind up when they're modelled by some busty babes.
-
I think I'd like the away better if it was half white and half blackcurrant rather than quarters.
Then it defo would have clashed with West Ham, I think we'd get away with this!
-
Not bad at all from what you can see.
I'll make my mind up when they're modelled by some busty babes.
Brazzers mate.
-
I'll make my mind up when they're modelled by some busty babes.
There's a few big tits on here who'll wear them.
-
Absolutely love them. The home kit is classy and the away looks good great.
Gonna need to try both on to see which like more though.
-
I can't wait to see either make their debut on "Full Kit Wankers".

Having seen that, I like the away one much more, and the home one much less.
What's the point of that over-fussy flap on the home one?
-
Seen as Macron are Italian,I am calling the away Chianti and White.
-
Is the back of the away kit plain white or quarters too?
-
Is the back of the away kit plain white or quarters too?
All white at the back.
-
Brad looks very lovely in pink
-

Cheers.

The away kit is one of the best for years.
Blackcurrent and white, it's the future !

That's what I think too. Home kit "over designed", I prefer more traditional approach
-
As long as the home shirt is a pleasing shade of claret and blue I don't see what all the fuss is about!
-
I think both kits are horrific. What is going on with that V neck/collar combination on the home shirts? Away shirt looks like a job lot for a Sunday league side and worst of all, those frigging socks! Urrrrghh! At least it's only a season.
-
Poor Brad's got a pink strip for the away goalkeeper kit.
-
At least they have 'side flank micromesh inserts', whatever they are.
-
Just asked my son which one he wants ( as I dont wear them )
he replied ' cool . I want the away one please '
-

All white at the front?? What is a hot spot not?
-

Its a free country mate, live how you wanna live lol.
-
From what i've seen i'm happy with both. Always hard to judge seeing them online compared to in the flesh. Only thing I don't like is the v neck and collar combo. I think it should be one or the other.
Was in the shop in town not long ago, no new stock in yet, that includes badges etc.
-
Really not keen on the away kit, too Bristol Rovers. The home kit is alright, don't think I'll be buying either this year.
-
I was thinking of the away top when I voted but yeah, the home top looks alright too. Maybe I will get one after all.
-
Like Bono's corpse, the more I look at that away top, the more I like it. It's a cracker. I might even buy it.
-
So what was the whole black/white badge thingy they had going on? I thought the away kit might have had that or looking at it now a black and er...blackcurrant badge.
They threw us a red herring to get us off the scent. Sneaky buggers.
Yes, Faulkner you sneaky bastard. You've now given us 2, maybe 3 signings very quickly and a smart new kit and a new sponsor before the end of the second week of June. I wonder if some people are still going to rip him a new one at every opportunity or give him credit where it is due? Because he deserves it.
-
I like the home kit, but a bit unsure about the away one.
-
Like Bono's corpse, the more I look at that away top, the more I like it.
Just think how insufferable Bono is going to be (yes, even compared to normal) when Nelson Mandela shuffles off this mortal coil...
-

Aaaaahhhhh, thats naughty!, (but you may have a point!).
-
Im liking it.
Anyone know what tune is being used in the background
-
THE HO - bollox caps lock >:(
The home kit looks a little too fussy, the away kt is er... memorable, hopefully the players will recognise it and pass to each other.
For comparison, the Daily "ban this sick filth" Mail has this page
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2325969/PREMIER-LEAGUE-NEW-KIT-The-strips-team-wearing-2013-14.html

The more i look at `em, the more i like `em, especially the away.
-
A mate of mine knows one of the girls who plays for the Villa ladies team and she has seen the new kits.
Apparently the home kit does indeed have blue sides beneath the sleeves. The away kit is supposedly (don't shoot the messenger) white and blue/purple squares! As my mate commented - she said its really nice, but then she is a girl.
Ok, I may have got my blackcurrents and my purples a bit mixed up, but otherwise spot on!

The best ITK we have had in a long time is from a girl!

Ha ha, very good!
-
that Crystal Palace away one . I always wanted Villa to do that one at least for one season.

Yep fair play Marlon. Well before anyone else and proper ITK from the young lass
-
Cardiff's is awful . We moan on here but thank f**k its nothing like that .
-
The Liverpool away kit is horrible, no wonder Suarez wants to leave.
-
Too fussy for my liking but am sure my 7 year old will want away one for his birthday in July
-
The more i look at `em, the more i like `em, especially the away.
The away one has grown on me a bit the more i've looked at it as well.
-
Little one wants the away one already. I have to say it looks a class kit.
-

-
Initial thoughts I like it, not sure about the collar, I need to see it in the flesh because last year I liked it and hated it in the flesh
-
The home one is too fussy and has too much blue on it.
I really like the away one. My favourite Villa away kits are the claret and white ones.

I really like the away shirt.
-
Home is very good except that I'm not convinced with the collar. The away I'm just not onvinced with at all. I'm no fan of quarters and purple is a bad choice when there are also claret elements in there too. But it's not terrible and it may grow on me.
8/10 for the home. 5/10 for the away. Just my two penneth.
-
Home kit is good, although I'm not sure about the collar. Not keen on the away kit.
-
Home kit looks superb, not sure yet on the away. Thought the badge was going to be black on the away??
All in all I think they look great IMO.
UTV!
-
Might see how much sports direct knock them out for , usually a few quid cheaper .
-
Shame Dunneys gone, the home strip would have a slimming effect
-
There's a contrast in my opinion on both kits dependent on the picture I look at.
-
Absolutely love both of them, miles better kits than last year, i think im going to buy the away one first.
-

You will have to wait till mid July for that one , home one available on sat.
-
The away shirt looks like a Battenburg.
-
I like the designs a lot but slightly spoiled by them still having that washed out shade of lilac-ish blue for the sleeves that is more West Ham than Villa - again the socks are right, so why cant they use a similar shade for the shirts?
I assume we will use last year's away kit at West Ham and possibly any team playing in red? The pair-pul is probably a bit too close to claret to make sense as an away kit.
-
Shame Dunneys gone, the home strip would have a slimming effect
It's a football shirt, not a magic wand.
-
I think both kits are decent this year. I'd prefer the home shirt to have had the badge in the middle below macron, but still both are very good
-
I really like the home shirt.
The more I look at the away one, the less I dislike it.
I will prob buy the home one next week and the away one when it's down to a tenner at the end of the season.
-
I actually preferred last seasons away. I think this one without the purple quarters and just white would have been really nice.
-
There ok but as there is not an option for ok I've voted 'Meh'.
Simplicity would have suited me. Both shirts are over complicated.
-
Like them both.....
except the blue isn't right again - too pale like West Ham and Burnley, and the collar is a bit funny. Otherwise fab!
Away kit is great - different and bold. We'll be wearing it when we snatch cracking away wins at ManUre and Liverpool!
UTV!
-
Yeah, its okay. The home will grow on me a lot I suspect.
-
£66 for a junior kit.
-
£66 for a junior kit.
Lad in my class came in yesterday with the new Man Utd offering to 'show and tell'. £75 apparently. Glad to see clubs are using the new TV deal to lessen the need to rip off fans in other areas...
-
I like them. The Home looks pretty cool.
-
Too much blue in the home kit for me and, the neck style should be one or the other imo. :(
-
Too much blue in the home kit for me and, the neck style should be one or the other imo. :(
Depending on how this season goes Imight agree.
-
Thanks to the sponsors logo, the yellow swirl sort of looks like the old shield crest we had in '82 at first glance. The shirt has the same sort of template with the blue down the sides so is a bit similar.
I like it. Though I won't be paying £46 for it because the Macro men fell out my current shirt after 3 or 4 washes.
-
Too much blue in the home kit for me and, the neck style should be one or the other imo. :(
For me it's a nice homage to '82 while having its own distinctive marks which, in years to come, will hopefully remind us of a successful season.
-
Is the back of the away kit plain white or quarters too?
All white at the back.
All white at the front?? What is a hot spot not?
Serious question:
What was a hot spot not? That bloody audience never could shout clearly.

After 20 years of Strike it Lucky, Thames Television and Michael Barrymore going under, I finally get it!
Thank you Des.
-
The away kit is in squares at the back aswell, I checked for myself!
-
Honourable mention for Brad's pink kit - I assume away. He's man enough to wear it.
-
Well, they achieved the impossible and came up with worse kits than last year. Laughably bad.
-
not bad kits but my only problem with the home kit is and i say this every year is that the claret and blue should be darker.
-
I'm no fan of quarters and purple is a bad choice when there are also claret elements in there too.
Fuck me, hark at Gok Wan here.
-
I really like the away kit.
I certainly think it is significantly better than that green thing from last year.
-
Serious question:

Michael Barrymore's swimming pool.
-
Well, they achieved the impossible and came up with worse kits than last year. Laughably bad.
Laughably bad? I think you might be alone in that position, or at least have very few people who agree entirely.
-
Not bad, I wish the home one would have the macron men on the arms like the le coq sportif logo had in 82.
-
I think both kits are great, though the home shorts and socks do look very much like last seasons. Anything was going to be better than that God awful lime green thing we had to endure.
-
I think the home kit looks really good. I like it a lot. Best one since the Nike, acorns kit the year we went to wembley.
Still not sure on the away kit. Maybe it'll grow on me
-
I don't like the blue panels on the main body of the home shirt. I could grow to like the away kit (especially with a few wins in it) but at the moment it looks like someone else's kit, Fiorentina maybe.
-
The home kit would be better if it
A Had a better collar
B Didn't have those shite socks
C Wasn't made by Macron
The away kit - black currant ??! I get we can't have claret as a main colour in an away kit but black currant is a strange one. Makes me think of that shite Liverpool kit they had at Wembley in 1996
-
Well, they achieved the impossible and came up with worse kits than last year. Laughably bad.
Once again, if the poll on here and the general impression I get from Twitter, Facebook and other forums are any guide, you find yourself swimming against the tide of popular opinion!
Personally I like the home kit, very retro! And I don't mind the away kit, always happy to see something a bit different.
-
Well, they achieved the impossible and came up with worse kits than last year. Laughably bad.
Yep. True abominations.
-
not bad kits but my only problem with the home kit is and i say this every year is that the claret and blue should be darker.
This.
Not quite CLARET enough or BLUE enough!
-
Both look alright to me, although I imagine a few referees will veto the away when playing at West Ham or teams that wear red. Suspect we'll keep the green kit as an option and wear the new away kit when not strictly necessary a few times- Man City and Everton, for example.
-

We are keeping the green kit as a third.
-
I don't understand the choice of "blackcurrant" at all to be honest. One man's blackcurrant is another's claret so why not just have it/call it claret?! If we're restricted from having claret as a main colour in the change strip how many referees or fans for that matter are sartorially and colour-coded enough to tell the difference? Odd.
I'm glad it's not black and white as was predicted though. It's growing on me, quadrants is certainly a bold move.
I do like the nod to '82 with the home and the new sponsor doesn't sully it too much. I'm still annoyed that we have to feature the Macron men while Napoli and Lazio don't.
-
I like the home kit. None too sure about the away (agree with the comment a few up about it looking like a Fiorentina shirt, not that that's a bad thing) but I seem to be very much in the minority in liking last seasons distinctive offering so what do I know? Quite frankly though, so long as we play well in it I couldn't care less what our kit was like.
-
Poor Gabby, Nobody told him to go home, He's still stood there now
(http://www.avfc.co.uk/javaImages/30/2e/0,,10265~12004912,00.jpg)
-
All you need is to add a green base and it's Subbutteo Gabby!
-
They've grown on me now. They are lovely kits.
Still not buying them though.
-
The away kit is bloody dreadful. I quite like the home kit though. I think I'll buy a retro shirt instead of investing in either though.
-
Home shirt is OK, I'm a traditionalist and favour minimalism so would have preferred it without the tat on the shoulders and the collar looks awkward . I like the away shirt a lot, disliked last years.
-
The away kit is bloody dreadful. I quite like the home kit though. I think I'll buy a retro shirt instead of investing in either though.
Same here. Not sure whether to get the home one or away one (1982).
-

I'd like to think that this would have been thought of when designing and choosing them.
There's no point in having a second strip that's so close to the home kit that it cannot be used vs WHU & teams in red.
-

West Ham can change their shirts, as they fucking robbed them off us in the first place.

Why don't the club put Acorns on the kids shirts?
-
Why don't the club put Acorns on the kids shirts?
bloody good idea
-
Why don't the club put Acorns on the kids shirts?
There will be an exclusivity clause contained within the agreement with Dafabet.
-
Why don't the club put Acorns on the kids shirts?
Because you can only have one sponsor, maybe? I could imagine certain clubs would love to have a different name on every shirt .
-
what a great gesture though
-
Don't united have DHL on their training kits?
-
Why don't the club put Acorns on the kids shirts?
Fantastic idea!
Of course there'll be some nailed-down legally binding reason why we can't put the name of a kids' charity on an otherwise "empty "shirt. Brilliant idea though
-

A mate of mine suggested this to me the other day and i thought it was a clever idea. Bearing in mind it's a charity, surely the main sponsor would'nt object? Or would they? I suppose they'd want exclutivity (if that's the right word).

Why not then have a transfer which can be put on the shirt in the same way as players name? The proceeds of which then go to acorns. If that isn't allowed the club could sell the transfers separately which could then be ironed on at home.

I doubt if Dafabet would be happy. There the ones giving us the money, so if they ant get their name on the kids kit then I expect they'd demand no one could.
-
Probably different rules but, don't the lower leagues have more than one sponsor? I'm sure I've seen a different sponsor on their shorts, and also on the back of the shirts or am I rambling?
-

I think I'd call it a day the moment Villa had more than one sponsor's name on their kit.

I'll take Cows back at this point. lol.

I don't even like one sponsor's name let alone several. Anyway, it would probably a case of the straw that broke the camel's back.

Not forgetting the Macron name/logo which appears 6 times on the latest kit.
-
It's to do with the premiere league rules isn't it? The Championship have different rules on sponsorship that's why teams can have secondary sponsors on the backs of the shirts.
-
Acorns isn't a sponsor though. They don't pay us.
Seems a great idea to me to put Acorns of the kids shirts.
-
Just seeing the kits now, I like them both. The home one is the best in quite a while and the away one is different in a good way.
-

Don't see the harm in running it past Dafabet. After all:
"Crucially for us, during negotiations Dafabet displayed a strong willingness to work with us in our continued support for Acorns and we look forward to progressing some ideas around that in the near future."

Just ordered the home kit online for my nephew's birthday...£80 all in with ST discount but it looks bloody bostin all badged and numbered up. Best kit in years.
-
Not keen. Too much blue on the home kit, and the away reminds me of Blackburn.

it's based on the 1981/82 kit. It is arguably the most iconic kit in our entire history.

I was rather hoping we might finish higher than 11th in the league next season, shit pastiche of a kit or not.

We need to win a cup... Swansea have landed Infiniti motors as their sponsor.
If they can get a luxury car company to sponsor them after 32Red then that's a great leap!
EDIT: Also, MG are back in business and seem to be selling a few. Perhaps in two years when this expires we could land them!
I dream for anything other than gambling. What happened to the good old days of Muller and MG Rover... Sigh.
-
Jores Okore quote.
"I'm happy to be wearing the shirt and I feel like I'm looking really good in it - it feels very comfortable."
Good to know my nipples won't rub off...I'm buying one on your recommendation now Jores! :)

As an aside, SHA's jnr kits will have 'Help Harry Help Others' on them.
-
If that is true then I think it is an excellent initiative. I hope we follow in suit with the acorns idea.
-
On initial thoughts on seeing the kits, I did vomit a couple of times in my mouth, but pleasantly growing on me after seeing the new boys in them today.
Even had a little twinge on, hoping by the weekend I need baby wipes to ensure I buy the both.UTV.

Not really - They sold 13 cars last month. For reference even Dacia sold over 1,000. Infiniti aren't doing much better.

Well, Dreamcast was a product, not a company.
-
Well yeah but it was made by Sega. There wasn't a company called Dreamcast. At least I hope not otherwise this post will be pretty redundant.
-
People are being too fussy. Have our new sponsors on the home shirt, 'Drink Beer, Smoke Tabs' on the away shirt and on the kids shirt the name of a pocket money day loan company.
-
Well, they achieved the impossible and came up with worse kits than last year. Laughably bad.
Claret shirt, blue sleeves? Laughably bad? What exactly do you want?

Overall after a few days I so like the kits. a lot My only gripe is the collar on the home which I don't like. To me it looks like two incomplete thoughts and neither really work. I'd rather it was much simpler than it is. But otherwise they are both really quite good and especially the away which is just different.
-
I just read Dafuq, when I see Dafabet. Even 32Red was better.

I'll answer 'cause he can't. They're horrible and tacky looking. I realise I'm in a minority, but I just don't like them. I hate the home shirt more every time I see it. The design of the collar is atrocious and the Macron logo on the top of the sleeves make it look even more of a mess.

Don't be put off by the Macron logo. If it is anything like the ones on the shoulders of my shirt last year, two washes and they will be off.

Has risso joined the gnasher in the bin - surely not , who will carry the flame of pessimism when we concede our first goal next season?
Anyone got the new kit yet and is it a comfy or tight fit or best to go one size up ?
Would also be interested to know if sports world are selling them and off so at what price.

I will take up the mantle of misery arse.

The away kit is one of my favourite kits for a long time. Is it bcuz I iz a yoot? Is there a general split with the old'uns preferring the traditional look and yoot more modern? Personally I prefer it when they try something bat shit crazy, even if it fails I admire the attempt. Too many boring samey kits.

You'll have to fight Saunders' Heroes for it!

My 16 year old nephew loves the away shirt so there may be something in it. I prefer something more traditional myself
-
Went into the shop in town earlier to have a closer look at the home shirt. I like it a lot more now, although still not convinced by the v neck and collar combo.
-
Does the kit have a better quality finish this time ? Design aside, I actually thought the quality of materials used and tailoring last season was quite poor. Also is it more fitted this time or still very loose ?
-
Seems better quality to me, not convinced the Macron men will survive washing though. It's supposedly slim fit but I didn't try one on.

Ok thanks . I personally think the designs are much better this season so if the material quality has improved too I might actually buy one.
-
Home is ok, away is awful. Why don't the club do 5 or 6 mock ups first online and then let the fans vote and simply go for the highest percentage? Also, still prefer green for the goalies shirt, but at least its not orange!
-
Because I doubt you'd get much more of an overwhelming majority than the amount of people who like this one.

There does seem to be a real positive response to the new kits from the majority of people, so I don't think it's an age thing. There are only a few people, like me and Risso for example, that out and out hate both of them. And Gok Wan, I ain't.

More to the point, it isn't blue!
-
Being of an older persuasion, buying the kit isn't right for me. Though I do like the away one. I've always liked claret/purple/blackcurrant away strips and rather liked Spur's kit from a season or two ago for that reason. So I have bought the purple rain jacket as I think it is rather nifty and I tend to go for Villa gear that I will also use practically away from matchdays and to show my allegiance at the same time!

I tend to agree with Dave, although I would suggest teens/early 20s. However, there might be an excuse for soe of the older generation wearing a retro shirt (providing it hasn't got "DAD" on nthe back of it).
Having said that, despite being in middle age, last season I bought my first ever football shirt, taking up the offer of the away shirt for a tenner. Being lime green it is not an obvious footie shirt, and the fit and colour make it ideal as a cycling shirt. Yuo won't see me wearing it in Tescos though.
-
Crikey I've bought one near enough every season for the last 30 seasons :(
-
It's not anybody's business to tell you that you can or can not wear a Villa shirt in public. If you want to wear one, wear one. If you don't, don't.
-
Crikey I've bought one near enough every season for the last 30 seasons :(
Same here Eastie.I have every home and away shirt going back to 89-90 and a few from before that.
I still have my shirt from 80-81 from when I was 5.
Yes that is a bit sad .

I usually throw them out after 2 years - shame really seeing what price the old shirts can go for on ebay- seem to be a few collectors about.

I agree entirely. I don't personally think it looks good over about the age of 40 but that is just my opinion. I have several shirts hanging in my wardrobe from the early 80s Mita black and white one right up to the Mellberg/West Ham one and Acorns from a few seasons ago, but I tend in the past to have bought them on impulse and then not ever really worn them on any consistent basis - or at least not since I turned 40. It used to be a summer holiday thing for me - showing your allegiance in hotter climes and there was a bit of a buzz about getting the new shirt just before you jetted off somewhere hot. I get much more use out of T shirts, rain jackets etc with the Villa logo on them these day and I just somehow think they are more befitting of my age...

That's criminal! They make great hand-me-down presents to relatives and friends.
If it was not for me getting a Villa shirt in 1980 when I was 5 years old I would most probably be a Wolves fan.
As I was getting older I saved my shirts for my little cousin.
Now I only buy them for my kids but I am tempted with the old retro ones.
-
it is very sad but as every year I'll eb buying one for me dad and he'll buy one for me. its become a tradition. I'll also be buying my 3 year-old and 8-month old, kits.

I like seeing people of any age in Villa gear, especially in Chelmsley Wood. And believe it or not, I see more Villa stuff round here than I do dirty- looking, raggedy-arse Small Heath SHIT!
-
Likewise here. Villa are taking over the East Side. They used to show our games in the Yew Tree
shithole Pub too.
-
I like the away shirt too and I'm only 50 yr old and only wear a club shirt(either new or the retro 71 shirt)to the game and as said earlier you won't see me wearing it in Tesco's....

-
I saw a fella in a Small Heath t- shirt queuing outside the Villa club shop waiting in line to have a new Villa shirt printed with a name and number - the wait time was 50 minutes and he stood there all that time - I think he may have been turned away as the club had run out of the letters, T, W, and A.

Ah, going for the sympathy vote.
Actually, we've only got one beggar, and yes, he is a nose. Thoroughly nice chap though.

Having had a close up look today I like the basic design (both home and away), but it think there is too much fussy detailing on it. I also think that the away one might cause the refs issues against the likes of west ham and any teams in red and white.

Hence the Lime green shirt as our 3rd shirt this season.

I'm sure it would have been taken into account during design and choosing.
If you look at our two kits together there's no reason for us not to use the away shirt vs WHU and teams in red. There's an awful lot of white and the 'Blackcurrent' is nothing like claret or red.

I reckon there's far too much similarity there.
If not, why are we having a third kit this season? Coincidence?
-
Let West Ham change their kit, like we had to at Villa Park a few years back.
-
The new away shirt looks nothing like West Ham's kit. You could easily have them playing in their home kit and us in our away kit and it'd be fine.

As for the away top being similar to WHU home top, you must behaving a laugh, there is nothing similar at all.

Flippin' heck, that's just like our away top ;)
Have to say, although I like Adidas, generally, I don't think the 3 stripes look right on it. It would be the same on our top, too.
I'd quite like Puma.
-
There's nothing about that West Ham shirt that's appealing. The collar in particular is a tasteless addition. I could see that being modelled in the back of Four Four Two as a special offer to Sunday league teams.

We'll see, though, when we play West Ham.

Woman in the club shop on Saturday was saying they can't wait to get rid of Macron. She said try are the most arrogant company they have had to work with. Will not be renewing two year deal. Bought my little one the aged 5-6 kit and last years socks were great, fitted just under his knee fully stretched. These ones would fit a 15 year old. Had to go back Sunday to swap them. Gave me a pair of aged 3-4 and these were better. Let me keep long pair too so fair play.
-
As has been said the stripes on that west ham kit are horrendous. They look a complete after thought, and appear to have been ironed on at the last minute.

Umbro, if they're still going, or Puma. Big "no thanks" to Adidas after seeing their West Ham effort.

Adidas are always rubbish, the Chelsea kit is horrible year in and year out.

Yes, agree about Puma. Much as it pains me to say it, I have really liked their strips for Spurs and others.

Me too. I think it will also look much better once we see the players actually playing in it. I think it's one of the best in ages, very different. The home kit is traditional and solid. I don't like the collar though personally. The away kit I will be buying.

I thought that about the home kit until I got a closer look to it. Way too fussy, don't like the collar, and that pointless flap up top looks daft, too. Not the worst ever, but not one of the best.

I've never really understood why in trying to come up with a traditional design a company tries to put their own little unique twist on it.
Mrs TV once cooked a tremendous meatloaf. Simple, just some basic spices and onion. Then the next time around she added something to it that just took away from the perfection of the original recipe. I asked her why she needed to mess with a good thing and all she said was she wanted to try something a little different. Given that I was the audience and I liked the original unfussy version, why mess with it? I think kit manufacturers do that sometimes. They start with the basic classy design and complicate it thinking they are doing us favour but all they are doing is adding what they like not necessarily what the customer wants.

We'll just have to wait and see.

So will the lime green away jersey become the 3rd kit if needed (at west ham), looking forward to a new kit supplier, umbro, adidas, puma, anyone really!

I hope that's true and that whoever gets the new contract knows what colour claret is and knows that light or sky blue is not a pissy shade of lilac. Please someone give the new suppliers one of the Nike shirts or an old umbro shirt as an example - they may not have all been great shirts but at least the colours were right. The more I see of this latest version the more I hate it because of the crap colours. Claret and blue it aint.

Not sure what our sponsors are paying but the deal Chelsea have pulled off shows how hard it is to compete against clubs with their financial clout -
Chelsea have signed a new 10-year deal with sportswear manufacturers adidas that is reportedly worth a mammoth £290million in what the Blues describe as 'the biggest deal to date'.
Chelsea chief Executive Ron Gourlay dealt direct with his adidas counterpart Herbert Hainer and said: "We are delighted to extend our partnership until 2023 after a highly successful first seven seasons.

Chelsea chief Executive Ron Gourlay dealt direct with his adidas counterpart Herbert Hainer and said: "We are delighted to extend our partnership until 2023 after a highly successful first seven seasons.
Which is why FFP is a utter joke. All that has happened is the big clubs have signed HUGE sponsorship deals to allow them to keep spending but now the rest of us can't even have an owner dip his hand in his pocket.FFP will maintain the status quo

A lot of new stuff in the club shop in town now. I bought 4 of the badges I wanted. Well chuffed with the moped and Mini ones.

About time too. I'll pop up one of the days.

Why don't the club put Acorns on the kids shirts?
Bloody hell they have only gone and done it
Well done the club.

Please to say the new kit was pride of place in the prime merchandising position at DW Sports in Burton today, ahead of the usual suspects.

I went in Ashley's sports direct shop and only the top four shorts were on sale , so I ordered online via the club shop.
-
I think they both look rather nice but I particularly like the home shirt, very retro.
As an aside, I really do hate sponsors on shirts.

Poor show, only selling shorts.
The DW in Burton is nice. Less Inter Sport than I'd like, & you have to wade through some of his brands like Mi-Fit. Predominant yesterday was our kit, British Lions & Leicester Tigers stuff.
-
Like the Home one, but I've got a good few home shirts.
Did'nt like the Away one at first, but think I'm starting to
waver abit and I'm going to get the away one instead.!! :o

Can anyone who bought the home shirt confirm whether or not Macron sorted the Macron men out or will they still peel off?
-
Just got the home shirt - not keen on the collar though - shirt is a nice fit .
-
Can anyone who bought the home shirt confirm whether or not Macron sorted the Macron men out or will they still peel off?
I haven't bought either. But looking at my brothers from last year and having an up close mooch at the home kit at the launch weekend the shoulder transfers look the same.
I imagine its a heat thing, if youre ironing over it, they'll peel.

Iron them inside out. Am I the only Mod on here?

I've never seen a football shirt ironed with a positive outcome.
People, get a life 😃

Yeah, I know, but it's not a very inspiring quote.
I've got to disagree there. Maybe it doesn't transfer too well to football but it gets my goosebumps going every time.

You wer lucky! My Mum set fire to my 'Castle Bromwich Juniors' shirt. Tried drying it in on the clothes horse in front of the fireplace.... Now that was a difficult story for the games teacher before a game against the might Yorkswood. She had to make a new one. Green with white sleeves.

Facebook update from the club about a sponsorship with a company called flannels who will provide matchday suits, etc. The post has a link to the news section of the official site but clicking it takes you to the page about the germany tour so i felt the need to reply with:
"I can't be the only one that finds it quite amusing that the link at the top of a message about a partnership with Flannels currently takes you to a news story about Lambert expecting the tour to be extremely tough. I guess he's planning on making them sweat!"
Sad I admit but it made me smile.
-
Seems a load of flannel to me -
Aston Villa is pleased to announce our new partnership with Flannels, the UK's largest independent fashion retail store and our new Official Formal Wear Supplier.
Flannels has established a strong reputation for excellence, specialising in luxury menswear and women's designer collections from leading British and international brands.
The company has rapidly grown from a single store in Cheshire to a chain of stores in leading UK cities including Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Nottingham and Cardiff.
Flannels will be providing made-to-measure match day suits for the first team squad, coaching staff and senior Club officials.
Aston Villa Chief Executive Paul Faulkner said: "This partnership helps set the tone on a match day in terms of players, management, coaching staff and senior Club officials all looking the part and reflecting something essential about the character that makes Aston Villa the unique and special institution it is.
"The reputation of Flannels is well-earned and the excellence they strive for matches perfectly the high standards and the values intrinsic in the Club.
"We're very much looking forward to a strong, productive partnership with the match day suits becoming emblematic of what we all fully intend to be an exciting, compelling season ahead."
Flannels managing director Neil Prosser added: "This is an exciting opportunity to work with Aston Villa FC and we are determined to deliver a high quality service of suit and develop the on-going relationship with the club."
-
It's a decent shop, Flannels. We've come a long way since the days of Ciro Shiterio.

Advice needed please.
My colleague is fifty next week so work decided to buy a Villa shirt with his name and 50 on the back.
I gave my season ticket to a colleague who went into the Villa shop in town and bought it. Unfortunately, they spelled his name wrong. She said she was given something to sign to confirm the order but didn't check as she felt rushed as the shop was due to close. She didn't manage to check till she'd got home.
She has since gone back and bought another shirt with the correct name on.
However, she's been told she can't get a refund on the wrong one so is lumbered with it.
Has anyone ever had similar and had any joy getting a refund or does anyone have a contact in the ticket office who might be able to sort this for the price of a pint, say?
Failing that, does anyone know if you can unpick the lettering so she could at least sell it on to someone else and recoup most of the money?
Oh, and yes. I have told her she's a daft sod for not checking it properly.
-
At a guess, stick a tea towel on it, whack the iron on it for a bit, heat it up and then peel it off?
-
From what a few people said last year, you just needed to wash it a few times and all that shit came off anyway ;-)
Mind you, daft mistake to make, really - that's why they make you check and sign. There's no way they'll take it back now.
-
What's the name on the back of the shirt?
-
Jude Ass
-
Just change your name to whatever is on the back and on your 50th you can have it.
-
Mike Bhunt, but they missed the b out
-
Simple, just wash the shirt, hang it on a hot radiator and
all adhesive will then dissolve and everything WILL peel
off nice and easy, take my word for it worked a treat. :'(
-
Have been unsure about the new away shirt, having a look at it in person in the shop in town has made up my mind. I think it's fucking ace.
-
Reminds me of our old window cleaner, who was most upset when Man Utd sold Ince after he'd bought their rag and had Ince's name printed on the back. "It's not the end of the world is it?" I said to Vince. "Just take it back and add a 'V'".
It hadn't even occured to him.
True story.
-
Have been unsure about the new away shirt, having a look at it in person in the shop in town has made up my mind. I think it's fucking ace.
I went up yesterday to have a look and yes it was nice. One question though, why have both shirts gone up to £50? I'm sure they were £46 a few weeks ago.

Yep, £46 when I bought one online in late June for my brother's 50th (and, yes, he got the number 50 and his name - the easily spelled "Bill").
-
Was considering the new away top, but just could'nt
make that kind of leap in the end. So played it safe
and bought another 'Retro' instead. (Like I need more !!)

On a quasi-related note, for anyone who still wanted to get hold of last season's kit on the cheap, classicfootballshirts.co.uk (http://www.classicfootballshirts.co.uk/premiership-clubs/aston-villa.html?p=4) have just got a batch of it in (including that super-awesome black colourway GK top and a shit-tonne of the old training kit). There's also a promo code that you can enter at the checkout for an extra 10% off, it's "2ritgk2".

Lot's of clubs kits here:-

An apt sponsor for Palace, as that's the only reason I ever go to that part of south east London.
-
What's the fitting like on the new home shirt? Thinking of getting it, was a medium in last season's.
Is the quality good?
-
Have to say that the quality of my 8 yr old's away shirt is f-ng awful.
I will be returning it asap, just not acceptable that its covered in pulled threads and "bobbles" when it's been worn twice and not even washed yet.

Does seem a bit strange having a change strip which can't be used again a quarter of the division though...
One word. Kerching.
Why not?
I'm sure it would have been taken into account during design and choosing.
If you look at our two kits together there's no reason for us not to use the away shirt vs WHU and teams in red. There's an awful lot of white and the 'Blackcurrent' is nothing like claret or red.
Who not what?
Why not use the away top at West ham, you mean?
I reckon there's far too much similarity there.
If not, why are we having a third kit this season? Coincidence?
I think it was pretty obvious what I was on about!!
As for the away top being similar to WHU home top, you must behaving a laugh, there is nothing similar at all.
If a team played in our away shirt at Villa Park you're saying that you'd have a problem identifying which team was which?
No, I wouldn't, and it's not about the kits looking the same, it's the fact that the away kit has so much of a colour which is very similar to our home colour.
We'll see, though, when we play West Ham.
And lo, we play West Ham and which kit do we wear?

There is a fair bit of detailing in the new shirts, and looking at these close ups, maybe the quality will be ok.
On the whole, I very much like the look of these, well done Villa and Macron.
The quality is poor on both. I know they're football shirts but these feel particularly lightweight. Cheap material used, poor quality stitching etc.
Look good on official pics but in real life they're pretty bad imo.

A pair of breasts at the top and ovaries at the bottom.
I'd be Sectioned if I did a blot test.
-
2nd away shirt that has "bobbles" all over it with very little wear. Very poor quality, our under 9s shirts that Macron do are much better - why??
The staff at the Village were excellent in swapping the first one, so hopefully they will be again!

Does anyone know how long the current deal with Macron runs for? I was so disappointed with last years shirt basically falling apart after 10months that I didnt get the shirt this year (I still wear my previous 4 nike shirts to the gym, for football, even travelled the world in the acorns one and use it for signatures now it is still in such good nick)
Id love us to team up with Adidas. Have we ever had a shirt made by them?
-
I've read that on internet :
The new Aston Villa 14-15 Kits will again be made by the Italian Kit manufacture Macron. They signed a four-years deal in 2012 worth £15 million until 2016.
And I don't think Adidas as ever made a kit for Villa no, personnaly I am not really impressed by the Macron shirts, the Dafabet sponsor logo is ugly though, but I think it could be worse. Adidas or Nike would probably be better, but I personnaly find it kinda hard to imagine villa with an adidas shirt.

Yeah, they dont quite get it do they? The Macron deal is good financially and yes, they get the kits out nice and quick, but they really are of a toss standard (speaking from experience of owning last years, not sure if this years has improved) Also Dafabet were probably the ost lucrative sponsor but its a big, ugly logo and seriously, who the fuck are dafabet anyway? some poxy chinese online bookmakers? They just dont get it.
-
I really like the design of the shirts..especially the away one, its just the actual quality of the shirts are so bad, it lets Macron down badly so i wont be buying another Villa short while Macron make them.
-
Macron are gash. That said, the Napoli kits are decent...anything like those would be good
-
The last Nike kit was junk and they treated us like shit in delivering the product on time. I'm sure that when if we were more high profile they'd treat us differently (better), but irrespective of that you don't treat a paying client that way. Puma seem to have a lot of identical kit designs out in the market, and Adidas might look a bit odd. Macron might not be a household name but they'd at least delivered on time and their designs have been good overall. Nothing special I admit. And I imagine they offered the most which is key.

Macron might not be a household name but they'd at least delivered on time and their designs have been good overall. Nothing special I admit. And I imagine they offered the most which is key.
Whilst what you say is true, the quality of Macrons kits have been very poor. A poor product delivered on time is still a poor product.

La Hoya Lorca's away kit for this season, based on broccoli apparently.
Not as bad as our Green, Black and Red away top in the 90's

The quality of last season's Macron kit was really poor, transfers coming off after 1 wash etc, but I've found this year's to be a lot better.

My 2007/08 kit is still in perfect nick. My 2013-14 Macron is starting to fray a wee bit and, while the design is a big improvement on the previous year, the colours are way off. When I place the macron kit beside the 2007/08 one the difference in colour is quite stark.

I don't think we've had a decent kit since Acorns to be honest.

I agree. The material used for that kit is still holding up and very nice to wear. I suppose they make the material for the players where they will wear numerous versions of the same throughout the season. It's made to help their performance so to speak, not made for kids and fat blokes trying to look the part.

Macron kits are cheap tat. Everything about them look pure rotten.

The problem is even if they are of material designed to be worn by athletes rather than fat blokes down the pub, once you start flogging them to fat blokes at 35 quid a pop you need to be sure they won't fall apart after three washes.
I don't buy them so am not hugely bothered but if they are of such poor quality, that is disappointing.
Have to say I find their designs over fussy. That stuff around the collar on the home shirt is horrible. Ruins what would other wise be a decent design.
It'd be good if we could combine getting them in the shops on times with decent quality and design though

Buy the retro ones, they never age and they are made of good material.

what I was really saying is that the material they are made of is the material the real gear is made of and not meant to be worn by fat blokes over and over again, and washed with their sweaty rod holders. Yes, the material isn't good, too thin, which is why I don't buy them and stick to some of the other stuff that is on offer like the training gear. I haven't bought a Villa top since the Acorns Nike top which is quality, and generally go with a couple of retro items

I buy them at the end of the season when they are dirt cheap.

They shrink in the wash. Even on a cool wash my one shrunk.
I wouldn't mind Adidas making them provided it was trefoil/originals. Adidas are making kits for far too many nobodies like Stoke, West Ham etc. At least we have something unique.
For me, in order:
Umbro, Under Armor, Puma (provided it was an original template), don't care about the rest.
Have a feeling we will probably end up with something like Warrior once the current deal is up.

I think they should at least stand up to more than a couple of washes.
