After a weekend of results that has seen us gain a point on the likes of Stoke and Newcastle, and seen us move a point further away from the bottom three I'm starting a thread to keep the positive vibes flowing.
We seem to have three relegation threads (!) running on Heroes and Villains at the moment - any fan visiting from Stoke, Newcastle, Wigan, Sunderland etc. would see this and be rubbing their hands with glee. Let's not talk ourselves into a spiral of depression here: we are the form team, for crying out loud. Let's lift the club and keep things moving forwards and upwards, there's no room for negativity as we enter the final straight.
Stick together, keep positive and let's lift the team up the table. The aim is to finish as high up the league as we can, beating the points total of last year being a nice immediate target to go for. All we can do is concentrate on our own games and forget about our rivals.
Next match up we are away from home in Manchester - they'll be getting a bit jittery as they try to ensure they don't throw the title away again. Our rivals will be expecting us to leave with zero points yet I reckon we are much, much better than that. A team containing Weimann, Gabby, Benteke and N'Zogbia playing with freedom can never be written off so let's turn Manchester claret and blue and come home with the points.
Positivity and no fear: Let's roar the lads down the final straight and let the other clubs talk themselves down.

Spot on. I am with you.

The fans have been incredible this season and will be a factor. I think villa are the most united club in the battle and that alone could be worth a point or two in the final few games.
We are the future and we are staying up.

Do you believe in the Villa?

The fans have been superb this season, no doubt about that.

On ya Billy!
I think we'll survive just.
A point at OT would be most welcome. About time we got something from those scumbags.

"I believe in the Power of Good
I Believe in the State of Love
I Will Fight For the Right to be Right
I Will Kill for the Good of the Fight for the Right to be Right"

Yes we can.

After the Stoke match, looking at the fixtures we had coming up, I had a little gut feeling that the Fulham match would be tough - a bit of an after the Lord Mayor's show kind of thing. (Now that we've got that match out of the way I think the point we won was no bad thing at all.) My gut feeling about the man utd match, on the back of that Stoke performance, was much more positive, though. We have absolutely no pressure on us at all for the trip up there and I think we are more than capable of getting something. Bring it on!
As for the remaining games, all us supporters need to do is simply keep the positive vibes flowing. When the lads play with freedom they are a match for anyone - let's roar them up that table and finish as high up as possible.
-
Come now billy walker- the fans have been behind the team all the way - if the team were as good as the fans we would be at the other end of the table- it's now down to the boys on the pitch to carry us home - we can only do so much and I'm sure the players would agree villa fans have been incredible this season!
Take a deep breath billy boy and roar roar roar!

Back to the future 2025 and Jon and pauline still looking fresh as ever ;)
-
Did anyone else notice that Manu only had 49% possession and 3 shots on target against Stoke!!!

Sorry, I know it was done with good intentions and what not, but I find that video very cringey.
On the other hand, and returning to the issue at question, no fucking way are we getting relegated.

Martin Jol was quoted on the Guardian as saying one thing that Villa have in their favour is that Lambert has the whole club behind him. He also says that a young team wil blow hot and cold so roller coaster is to be expected.
Am still shitting myself though.

Yep Eastie, the fans have been brilliant and behind the lads all the way. I'm just saying, with five games to go, that we've got to keep it going, keep the mind and spirit strong and aim to finish as high up that table as possible - the "R Word" is not even in our vocabulary. Leaving it solely to the boys on the pitch as we head along the final straight won't do - we've got to keep going, as a whole club, to the final whistle of the Wigan match. 110% is what we're about Eastie!

With our usual tremendous backing I'm confident we'll get the right outcome.

Times like these I wish our dear friend Seattle Villain was still around.
-
We are slightly better away from home (look at the games at Stoke, Albion, Arsenal and Everton) in recent months... we can do it, we will do it!!
-
Totally agree with the points raised here, VTID & UTV ! Perhaps Gabby can get the only goal again st the Theatre of Hate like he did under MON ?! Come on the Villa boys, let's have it ;D
-
Just waiting for someone to post that abysmal Al Pacino effort.

One last push , lets do it !
eastie, I didn't know you were a midwife!
Let's hope a new Premiership era is born for Villa ...
-
Good thread Billy. The majority of fans are right behind the team and the support at matches are still strong. We will get through this intact one way or another UTV !!!!!!!!

Well, as has been noted, we are slightly better away than we are at home. We were also 2-0 up against them at home.
