Mod to say its 20.00 CET sorry
-
UTV! I know Sporting put paid to Spurs but I don't reckon them (Spurs) - they are never in the final mix for football at this level, but Villa are. Onward and upward!
-
Good Friday evening ? Strange timing

Good Friday evening ? Strange timing
The final is on the Monday, so presumably they play on the Friday to give them a bit more rest between games.

Nice one.
it's in Northern Italy, so i doubt it'll be easier for us than it is for you exiles!

I looked on the NextGen series web site and i'm gutted that we have Liverpool on Easter Sunday as the venue for the semis and final looked beautiful right on the shore of Lake Como, would loved to have had Easter away there but home game in our survival battle must take priority so will have to watch on Eurosport or maybe AVFC web site.

That area is truly beautiful.
I'd say go for it, if you can afford it, it'll be brilliant.

I could do it and possibly would have done had we been away on Sunday but survival must take priority. I would love to see on TV a number of Villa fans in the ground - it really does look lovely there.
-
Never been to Lake Como and would have loved to have gone to this but the first team come first.
Can't see many 'hardend fans' going there when the first team are playing.
-
Thanks 'go on the dog' for letting us know.
I subscribe to Eurosport as they show all the motorcycle racing, glad my money can be used during the off season like this as they show bugger all while the bikes are away.

According to the Radio Times, the first semi-final is on from 4.30pm and the second from 6,30pm.

Yes and the Europort website.
Do Italians get excited about an away trip to Como Calcio in the same way that we get excited about having Blackpool as an away game? (Except that Como looks nice). Possibly a question for Archie.
-
Last minute flights for Easter - arm and a leg and another leg.
-
Sporting Lisbon? There's no such club.

If i was allowed to fly I would choose to go to lake como and watch the Liverpool game on tv , Easter in lake como is much more attractive than Easter in aston:)

No.

Hmmm, I always think it's technically Sporting Clube Portugal and Benfica are something like Sporting de Lisboa Benfica.
-
It’s like Inter Milan. No such club, but its how us John Bull like to describe them, so Johnny Foreign can ruddy well lump it, less the oiks want a thrashing from my copy of the Telegraph.

I have seen foreign websites who call teams:-
Arsenal London and Chelsea London, so it's not just us. Think we're probably the worst for it though.
Not sure how Red Star Belgrade became Crvena Zvedza (or something like that).
-
Crvena Zvedza simply means "Red Star". Foreigners add on Belgrade. They don't mention the city name themselves, neither do Partizan.
-
I noticed in the Reading game stream the name Birmingham was mentioned a lot whenever we had the ball, it of course might not have been a complimentary comparison by Johnny Foreigner.

Ditto for me..... at last something good on Eurosport apart from bike racing.

You mean you don't like Pro-celebrity yachting and the 4x4 synchronised bobsleigh.
-
Let me think about that for a moment..... er nope I can't see the appeal to be honest.

Oh well, just enjoy it on telly mate.

Not in the same way.
The area is a beautifl location and the stadium is just on the banks of the lake, but the laker atmosphere is very quiet and relaxing, not so exciting like that of Blackpool (having passed the 40's I prefer the lake by the way).
-
You're missing out. Blackpool is renowned for its culture and sophistication. It is often referred to as a Lancastrian Florence.
-
Absolutely fantastic, into the final v Chelsae on monday - again on eurosport @ 1730
Rode our luck a bit but brilliant non the less.
-
I watched it, thought we did well rode our luck at times but was pleased to see the same kind of defensive errors the first team make
-
I'm pleased we are in the final well done lads.
-
Half 4 or half 5 ffs.
-
I liked the look of Donacien at the back. He seemed to have a lot of maturity for his age. Maybe someone to include on the bench towards the end of the season if we're safe.

Not this season but there are two or three who may be knocking on the door next season - the future looks good if this crop can continue to develop- of last nights team Carruthers is perhaps already knocking on the door but donacien, Robinson and grealish look great prospects .
-
Burke and Drennan will be ahead of Robinson but no doubt Robinson is a real prospect. He's impressed me every time i've seen him.
Remember, these are the U19s and there's a few in the U21 group that are knocking on the first team door too. Like Johnson, Siegrist, Williams etc. And there's some that weren't playing last night like Jordan Graham, who are very promising.

If given went would you have faith in siegrist as a number 2 maz or do you think he needs a bit longer?
-
I'd rather we had one experienced keeper on the books as a safety valve if/when Given goes, then loan Siegrist out or have him compete directly with this experienced keeper.
Technically I have no doubts Siegrist could cope but its tough for young keepers to recover after making mistakes. And mistakes are inevitable.

I don't see any harm in including one or two in the matchday squad if and when we're safe. Carruthers and Burke have been on the bench a few times already, Burke has even got on the pitch. Besides, it'll give them the incentive to push on once they've tasted it.

Fair point clamps, I must admit i was impressed with the cameo from Carruthers last season and he looked confident and prepared to take players on - surprised he hasn't been given a chance so far, as he seems to provide width and pace too.

Half past four.
