How reliable is it ? Would be a blow for lambert if true.

Plenty can be found by googling FC Ingolstadt Henke.
For example:

Wie der Donaukurier berichtet, will der FCI Michael Henke, den langjährigen Assistenten von Ottmar Hitzfeld bei Borussia Dortmund und Bayern München, verpflichten. As the Donaukurier reports will undertake the FCI Michael Henke, the longtime assistant of Ottmar Hitzfeld with Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. Der 55 Jahre alte Henke ist derzeit als Chefscout des englischen Erstligisten Aston Villa tätig. The 55-year-old Henke currently serves as chief scout of the English first division club Aston Villa. FCI-Manager Thomas Linke hat bei den Bayern einst unter Henke und dessen Chef Hitzfeld trainiert. FCI General Manager Thomas Linke has trained with Bayern once under Henke and his boss Hitzfeld. Henke soll bis Montag unterschreiben. Henke should sign up on Monday.

I think Lambert was spouting some incomprehensible nonsense at him in that drawl of his and something came out that sounded like '******' in German.

Not sure it really matters at the moment. He can scout who he likes but its pointless if you can't afford to buy them.

As I've said before, I could walk past our current squad in Sainsbury's and would not be able to place a face to a name for a good percentage of them.

I'm guessing most of them have a similar problem judging by how rarely they manage to pass to each other.

So we have lost our Henke.   We can always sign his business partner Panke.  Always up to something those two.

If he is leaving then he lasted 5 months. Thats not long in a job in one if the world's most watched leagues. I wonder what's going on at Villa.

Well he won't be a miss. I'm assuming that seeing as we are half way through Jan, all of our intended targets have been identified and approached. I mean, we wouldn't be amateur enough not to have  our targets lined up and negotiations well underway by now would we? Would we...?

Really worried about Henke possibly allegedly leaving, after all he's part of such a successful set up that we have at Villa. Going for the Champions League, certainties for both cups, we're having a fabulous season and its all thanks to this Henke bloke's intervention.

So excited about all these great players he's lined up for us as we'll....exciting times for us here at Henke's Villa.

Me too.  It implied that we had a bit of a strategy and would no longer be paying through the nose for british based talent.  Do you think it is a symptom of the greater malaise or was he just offered a better opportunity?  ...and has it been confirmed?

The thing is he was a coach/asst. manager anyway so we did well to get him scouting for us. If he thinks that job is is more inkeeping with his experience and what he wants to do then why would he stay in a more junior position?

Here's a bit more on it with a link to a 21 Austrian centreback we've apparently had our eye on

Euro spy to sign off after Basel trip

Aston Villa's European scout Michael Henke wants to return to coaching with mid-table Bundesliga 2 outfit Ingolstadt.

Henke, who has been busy scouting for Villa in Switzerland over the weekend, told German newspaper DK: "It's true, I'd like to work with FC 04, but I must first clarify with my club Aston Villa."
The 55-year-old ex-Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich assistant boss has only been working for his former player Paul Lambert for three months, but has apparently caught the coaching bug again.
Thomas Oral, the Ingolstadt trainer, has offered Henke the role of his number two and if he were to go, that could leave Villa without a high-level scout on the continent right in the middle of arguably their most important transfer window in years.
Lambert is desperate to make signings this month and is increasingly looking abroad to find value in the transfer market.
Henke watched Bayern Munich beat FC Basel in a friendly on Saturday and is following a couple of the Swiss club's squad very closely for Villa's manager.
Basel winger Valentin Stocker, 23, was linked to Villa in 2011 and recently admitted that the time may be right for him to move on.
"I do not think that FCB is my last stop, I can play abroad. There has been interest for me already."
Lambert's priority, however, is a new centre back and Basel's Aleksandar Dragovic could fit the bill. The Austrian international, 21, caught the eye against Manchester United in last season's Champions League and has missed only one game for Basel this season.

Any scouting for the window had surely be done already so it's probably the best timing all considered if it had to happen.
