If you're on FB, check this (https://www.facebook.com/groups/128120954016039/) out.
Dedicated squad of Villa fans who aim to eat 1874 curries between them in 2013.
For each curry consumed we will donate £1.00 to Acorns.
There will also be donation tins on the Marchants Villa coach for each Aston Villa game.
The rules are as follows:
1. Each curry consumed must be named. The Administrator reserve the right to question the authenticity of the consumed curry, therefore the Administrator's decision is final at all times.
2. When submitting a consumed curry we need to say that they increase the count by one each time. (e.g. If the person before you had curry 67, you must say you had curry 68 etc)
3. If we are counting more that one curry at a time, each curry must be accompanied by a portion of rice or a naan bread. If you have 2 dishes at once then you should be eating rice or naan with each one.
4. Every time you consume a curry then you donate £1.00 to Acorns. We are trusting everyone with their honesty when collecting monies. Anyone who is even suspected with withholding cash will be severely rogered (in a bad way) or subjected to Storytime with John Holder.
5. At least half the curry must be consumed to count towards the 1874
6. All monies must be collected in by January 10th 2014
7. The administrators decision is final

Has anyone successfully joined the FB group yet? It's just that I was having a bit of trouble.
-
I think it is set as 'closed' and requests to join have to be accepted by whoever is admin on there. I'll see if I can sort something out this evening.
-
I've requested to join, and its a curry night tonight so i hope i'm accepted soon.

A response from the group admin:
We have a concern that if we accept anyone/people we don't know, we can't be sure that we will get the donations off them.
-
Maybe the admin could come over here and get to know us better! :)
-
Shame I didn't spot this before I went to India three weeks ago. Had curry for breakfast, lunch and dinner one of the days!
-
That's a pity. Got a piccy of tonights dupiaza too.

Don't like the rules. bloody tesco crap shouldn't be included and me old dear does me one at least once a week. Nice but not proper curries. Should have to be at least at a curry house
-
We are currently on #893 and a little bit behind schedule. If anyone wishes to contribute then all you have to do is eat a curry with rice/naan/chapati/roti and donate £1 to me (whilst selling H&V) so I can pass it on.

The 1874 Charity Curry challenge is now open to new members. If you wish to join, just let me know (via PM on here) and I'll post your details for an admin to add you. The agreement is that should there be any shortfall on 31.12.13 between the amount pledged (currently £931) and the £1874 target I will make up the shortfall out of my own pocket, but I am allowed to get new members added to the group. Go on. You know you want to. Just pledge £1 for each curry with rice/naan etc that you eat. Post details on the page so the running total can be updated. Eat plenty and donate generously.
