Fixtures are to be released Monday 18th June 2012 with the first set of games to kick off on Saturday 18th August.
I wonder who we'll play first and who will be the first person to post an exclusive leak?
I predict Sunderland away.
-
My guess is Norwich away.
-
Wigan home.
-
West Ham away.
-
I think it'll be Norwich away, too!
-
Southampton (a)
Newcastle (h)
Liverpool (a)
WBA (h)
-
Norwich will 'randomly' come out.
-
Home to Southampton first up then Norwich away Bank Holiday weekend.
-
Norwich away - it just has to be.
-
We're trying to predict the order of next season's fixtures?!
Hmm. Home game at Villa Park against Southampton to end the season.
-
Need an away game on 8th September. If someone could pass that on to the relevant peoples.
-
F.C.Gingham of Manchester at home and a resounding Villa win a la 1996 to set Mr. Lambert up for a rollicking good season!
Or Southampton away, maybe!
-

Come on!!!!
-
My guess is Norwich away.
same here...with Southampton away on Sept 2nd (crosses fingers, going on a cruise on the Sunday)
-
it will be Albion at home I think.
-
it will be Albion at home I think.
A repeat of that 4-3 opening day in the early 80s will do me.
-
Reading (H)
Shitbion (A)
Hull City (H) in the Capital Cup
-
I'm going with Norwich, home or away.
-
Hull City (H) in the Capital Cup
Ouch! Emile Heskey hatrick for Hull?
Nah.
-
Liverpool (h)
-
Swansea at home.
-
Being selfish, I hope it's an away game first, so that a few extra fans can come over for Eamon Deacy's tribute match in Galway. It's a shame that there's a potential clash, would be nice to see a big turnout.
-
Norwich away is where the smart money is.
Either that or one of the promoted teams.
-
Has anybody said Norwich yet?
-
Toon away.
-
Manu at home
-
Reading away
-
Blues. Lol.
-
NY Cosmos (A)
-
It'll be Q.P.R at home,and we'll beat them 3-0.
-
Stoke away
-
Norwich away would be a steamy start.
-
Birmingham at home whoops sorry.
anyone at home will do for me
-
Anyone away.
-
Man U away
-
West Ham (A)
-
Racist FC (a).
1-0 to us Downing to score his first league goal in their shirt.
-
Someone at home. Or maybe away.
-
Need an away game on 8th September. If someone could pass that on to the relevant peoples.
There won't be any games that weekend; Moldova v England on the Friday night and England v Ukraine on the following Tuesday. Means I can go to the Proms without missing a Villa game. :)
-
Yeah 8th September is an International weekend. I should know, I get married that day. I wouldn't want a wedding getting in the way of a Villa game now would I?
-
Everton at home.
-
Last year we had an easy start and a tougher finish, I would prefer the other way around please FA!
-
Swansea away
-
Dont really care just want the season to start - i feel like i am falling in love with the villa all over again. last year if that numpty had stayed could easily have been my last as he had drove all the energy out of me - it had become a chore and a painful one at that
-
My initial thought was Southampton away but today I have awoken with the unshakeable belief it will be the Geordies.
-
WHU away
-
One of the promoted teams away
-
Everton at home and a 3-1 win.
-
Liverpool away followed by Norwich at home!
-
QPR at home.
-

Excellent. I'll be at Bestival and really don't want to miss any games if at all possible.
-
Man Utd at home. It's the best time to play them
-
Even though I am an optimist its the one time in the calender I become a merchant of doom. I confess that I always look at the last 6 games to see where we will need points if we are in trouble.
Be honest does anyone else do that? ;D
-

Not me. I always look at the first half dozen games and take a guess at where we will be in the table after them. Needless to say I get it wrong nine out of ten. :(
-
Don't care as long as it isn't Fulham away again, i am on holiday and really don't want to miss the best game of the season.
-
I think we need to have a prediction thread where we have to do the whole of the prem from top to bottom. Gnasher will put everyone joint bottom on 0 points
-
Swansea (A)
-
Someone middle of the road at home so it definitely kicks off at 3pm on Saturday.
-
Norwich away.
-
'Pool at home...
-
I would love Southampton away coz it's always a good weekend down there.....
-
Spuds away.
-
Evil Stoke away.
-
You can guarantee we'll get an horrendous Christmas schedule, we always do.
-
Southampton away.
-
Reading at home.
-
People aren't allowed to copy and paste the fixtures on here when they're out, are they?
-
Ideally kick start the season at home.
-

No.

No.
Although hopefully the ridiculous copyright situation will finally be kicked into touch soon:

Southampton away.
No thanks as still on my summer hols in Aix En Provence and that is going to be my easiest to get to game next season Peter

I do. The first 3 (and to see if the second is a Wednesday), the last 3, Christmas and Easter. Oh, and my birthday, even though I'll be 38 this year.
-
Reading or fulham away would be nice, I can pop along easily then. Otherwise, someone like Wigan or norwich at home
-
You can guarantee we'll get an horrendous Christmas schedule, we always do.
A home fixture for Boxing Day please. Don't care who.
-
You can guarantee we'll get an horrendous Christmas schedule, we always do.
Particularly annoying as that is the one time of year when the better teams don't have to worry about European games the midweek before/after. They are free to concentrate entirely on beating us.
I don't think we played a single team after they'd been in Europe last year.
I bet we don't this year either.
Stamford Bridge and City of Manchester Stadium are the only two Premier League grounds I've yet to visit so I hope we get them on Saturdays at 3pm not on sodding New Year's when the public transport will be non-existant.
-
Southampton away.
No thanks as still on my summer hols in Aix En Provence and that is going to be my easiest to get to game next season Peter
Have a good tim it's a beautiful part of the world. If you get the chance drive around th villages of the Luberon.
-
Reading at home.
Not going to the game then?
-
Sunderland at home.
-
Won't be one of the promoted teams, they're reserved for the big boys in the opening and closing games.
Swansea (h)
Liverpool (a)
Manchester City (a)
Fulham (h)
Chelsea (a)
West Ham (h)
We'll get eighteen points and top of the table at Christmas!
-
Hoping for Fulham or Wigan at home...
Have a feeling it will be Spurs at home...
I am also torn between a nice August weekend by the sea for Southampton and being their first home game back in the prem, which I wouldn't want!
-
Won't be one of the promoted teams, they're reserved for the big boys in the opening and closing games.
Didn't we play Stoke and Newcastle in their first home games back in the top flight?
-
And Reading at home 2nd match of the season in pubey's first season.
-
Rumours going around that our first game is away at Everton.
-
Best time to play Everton.
-

Portsmouth too, that was a shit trip.
-
Olivia Godfrey on SSN: wow, yum-yum etc.
She could tell me our first game is Small Heath away in the Championship and I'd still enjoy it.
*drool*

Thanks for the tip Lovejoy!
-
Excited now - when is Fulham away, that's what I want to know.
-
West Ham away first
-
Apart from a possible draw against Man City away, I can't see us dropping a point all season.
-
Christmas seems unseasonably kind to us.
-
Could be tricky but not the worst.
-
Rumours going around that our first game is away at Everton.
Or maybe not
-
Swansea away on New Years Day is a bit of a bastard.
-
WHU away
West Ham (A)
....
-
Slightly uninspiring, wanted Baggies home as the 2nd game
Wigan away last game of the season, weekend in Blackpool maybe in order! ;)
-
Apart from a possible draw against Man City away, I can't see us dropping a point all season.
Could you give me a link to your dealer, I'd like to try some of that substance you're enjoying!

-
Swansea away on New Years Day is a bit of a bastard.
To be honest, I can't see anything wrong with it. Will have to stay on the night of New Years Eve - it will be quiet round there, won't it?
-
November spawned a monster, but apart from that not too bad in terms of difficult runs.
-
40 points by Feb 1st then
-
Wigan away on last day of the season.
Could we be the side that finally relegates them?
-
What a load of bollocks.
I'm on hoilday for the first home game, at a wedding for the second home game and coming back from holiday for the fourth home game so might not make it. Why did I renew?!?!?!?!
-
Those fixtures don't look that bad to start with they could have been a lot worse than that.
-
If we're not on telly again on Boxing Day I'll eat my hat and everybody else's.
-
West Ham away 1st game of the season in 2005 (?)
WHU 4-0 Villa, that was their 1st game back in the prem, not an enjoyable start...
-
I'm usually woefully wrong, but my prediction at the end of the first six games is 14 points.
-

Did you think the season started in October?
-
Fucking hell November and December look a bit rough.
-
When is the FA Cup Final? Need to book a hotel.
-
West Ham away 1st game of the season in 2005 (?)
WHU 4-0 Villa, that was their 1st game back in the prem, not an enjoyable start...
Don't mean to be picky but it was their 4th game of the season, 3rd at home.
-
Interesting opening fixture eh? Could well be an opening day win for the cockney boys for once?
I'm busily consulting my bank as I type to gauge whether I'll be able to get a season ticket and attend this.
Much like us November and December doesn't seem to have been kind to you. In fact you lot seem to be playing the same teams as us at around the same times.
-
When is the FA Cup Final? Need to book a hotel.
It must be our year.
How long can it realistically go on for? Is it really going to go on forever? It can't, can it?
-
We've made a few Hammers happy anyway.
I think they may be in for a surprise.
-
Interesting opening fixture eh?
I bet Macron's marketing department are drowning in a pool of their own semen at the thought.
-
Swansea away on New Years Day is a bit of a bastard.
To be honest, I can't see anything wrong with it. Will have to stay on the night of New Years Eve - it will be quiet round there, won't it?
Just make sure you don't get stuck out in Neath this time!

Definitely not. Here starts the mad pencilling in and rubbing out of diaries. Wait for Sky / ESPN to mess it all up.

Thats a very early outing for the glow in the dark kit.
-
Newcastle away looks prime to be switched.
-
Thats a very early outing for the glow in the dark kit.
A nice sunny day and that kit will be a two pairs of sunglasses job.
-
Spurs at home on boxing day has "stupid 5pm ko time" written all over it.
-
It will clash with Great Escape/James Bond.
-
Wigan away on last day of the season.
Could we be the side that finally relegates them?
After relegating Norwich 2 weeks earlier.
-
It will clash with Great Escape/James Bond.
Too early, maybe One of our Dinosours is missing.
-
I predict West Ham will be moved to 12:45 on the the 18th for the early televised game.
-
Nothing to do with us but the SPL fixture list has a new club called Club Twelve. ;D
-
How's it going to work anyway? Are the Olympics still on then?
Most of the aways I'll be doing....West Brom, Stoke, Reading, Arsenal, Wigan all in the second half of the season!
-
What a load of bollocks.
I'm on hoilday for the first home game, at a wedding for the second home game and coming back from holiday for the fourth home game so might not make it. Why did I renew?!?!?!?!
Did you think the season started in October?
Obviously not, but if the away and home games were switched, I'd be fine.
-
Bloody away to Swansea on new year's day. Yuk!
-
We've made a few Hammers happy anyway.
I think they may be in for a surprise.
Wouldn't you be happy with a fixture against a team who were shit last season and finished in a shit position? OK, we've got Paul Lambert now, but from their point of view, you'd think it was a good start to the season.
-
Could have down without WHU first game as that is one of my 'get to' games and we are on our hols in France. Never a good idea to have promoted teams early on either as they invariably get off to a flyer
-
Last day of the Olympics innit? Going to be mayhem round there!
-
Yeah that's what I thought?
I presumed all London clubs would play away first on police advice?
Can see this being moved to the Monday night game tbh!
-
Last day of the Olympics innit? Going to be mayhem round there!
Stands a chance of being moved then.
-
Spurs at home on boxing day has "stupid 5pm ko time" written all over it.
If not even stupider 19:45 !!!
-
Last day of the Olympics innit? Going to be mayhem round there!
Olympics finishes 12 Aug.
-
When do sky announce the televised games!?
-

Olympics finishes 12 Aug.
Gets coat.........
-
A home fixture for Boxing Day please. Don't care who.
Thank you!
-
When do sky announce the televised games!?
When they've decided which of the really crap fixtures they are willing to shovel onto BT.
-
We're playing all the teams I thought we'd play, but in a different order.
-
Will the BT matches only be shown on their BT Vision thing (which i believe works over your broadband connection)?
If so, not only does the punter need to pay two companies to see the football, he's also going to need two fucking boxes under their telly.
Just to make it worse, you'll also only be able to get it if you have BT Broadband. How shit is that? What about all the customers who'd like to get it, but are in the middle of minimum term contracts with other broadband suppliers?
-
Last day of the Olympics innit? Going to be mayhem round there!
Olympics finishes 12 Aug.
Gets coat.........
I was hoping you were right. A change to the kick off would have made things easier for us.
-
I thought BT started season 2013/14.
-
I actually think we'll give Allardyces oafish lumps (after he's bought a few more massive jobbers of course) a good bollocking. Once the team restructuring has been completed of course.
-
BT contract hasn't started yet has it?
-
BT contract hasn't started yet has it?
2013/14
-
Those fixtures don't look that bad to start with they could have been a lot worse than that.
That's true; we could've had three consecutive away games to Barcelona at the start of the season.
-
First game away? Brilliant!
-
I hope they show our first couple of games on Egyptian TV...
-
Will the BT matches only be shown on their BT Vision thing (which i believe works over your broadband connection)?
Was discussing this with a Sky contact over the weekend. I've mentioned in the past that Sky's main worry over the last two years has been BT rather than Virgin or Freesat etc. and this came out of nowhere for them and has them slightly worried. The feeling they have is that for BT to make any commercial sense out of this TV deal they'll have to carry it on more than just BT Vision, so are expecting them to buy Virgin channels and possible a Sky channel as well as the pay-per-view Freeview set-up.
One big difference between the BT and ESPN deals (apart from the higher number of games) is that BT have bought a percentage of first picks - ESPN always had Sky's sloppy seconds.
My guess is that they'll adopt the ESPN production/commentary teams which were largely filched from Setanta.
-
Interesting stuff, Nick, cheers.
-
BT deal doesn't come in to play until the 2013/14 season though doesn't it? Still ESPN next season.
BT will be having a channel on Sky and Virgin also I read last week, around Ł10pm.
-
Shafted in November
-
So the fixture's have been released, although excited about the new season i cant help feeling a little dissapointed that our 1st and Last games are both Away, is anyone else dissapointed???
I bet if the "Top 4/5" had the same they would be up in arms!!
-
Interesting stuff, Nick, cheers.
And they definitely expected Al The Zebra to bid, and didn't spend as much as they could have, somewhat gob-smackingly. Don't think the bubble will ever burst. Sadly.
-

Think it was after three weeks last season

It can't only be me who is confused as to why this is a problem? It creates no disadvantage....?
-
I'm a bit fed up of being away first game again. Would have liked Wet Spam at home instead, grab the three points and start the season on a really positive note! We'll just have to go to Upton Park and get the points there instead then!
-
I don't mind being at West Ham on the opening day - It's like a home game for me! Just hope I can get a ticket.
Relegating Wigan on the last day will be a laugh...
-

Imagine Wigan away with loads of tickets available. Absolute bedlam.
-
Wigan away on last day of the season.
Could we be the side that finally relegates them?
Exactly what I thought. Would love us to be the ones to send that smartarse Whelan and his 'best manager in the world' tumbling into the Championship.
-

Very true. Fantastic stuff.
-
Can I just be the first to say that I can't see where we're going to get the next 40 points from. We are definitely right in it now, etc.
-
I think BT will be a shambles , the way they have treated me in the past with broadband etc .
-
I'm just glad I'm not going to be spending the whole season as the lone voice trying to stick up for ITV. It's like coming in to school every day in flares

My point is purely a selfish one, Would be noce to either start or finish the season at home

I'm going to spend the afternoon practising my booing
-
Well, with the lack of transfer activity and the fact that we still haven't won a game under him, I'd sack that fucker Lambert and get someone in who can turn the club around.
Bright future, my arse.
-
I'm going to spend the afternoon practising my booing
I'm a pilot so I'm going to spend the afternoon practising my boeing.
-
Well in that case, I work in a spring manufacturing plant, and I'll be working on my boing.
-
I'm always off my face on drugs. I'm going to spend the afternoon practising with my bong.

Well in that case, I work in a spring manufacturing plant, and I'll be working on my boing.
I'm working on being.

From the BBC website:
West Ham chairman David Gold is excited about the Hammers' prospects after the release of the fixtures for 2012-13. "It's going to be extremely exciting. The last time we played Villa on the first day two years ago they beat us 3-0 so we're looking forward to reversing that score. It's important to get off to a good start - we lost the first four games two years ago against big clubs but home to Villa and away to Swansea are winnable games, or games you would expect to get something from."

All Tumnus can expect is a trouncing from a resurgent and newly confident Aston Villa.
-
Extremely disrespectful way for the chairman of a promoted club to speak. Not that I'm surprised considering who it is, of course!
-
I'm going to spend the afternoon practising my booing
I'm really pissed off now. Lambert moves the dug out to being in front of where we used to sit. Now we are over the other side, he will never hear me booing above the din of the away fans.
-
Can I just be the first to say that I can't see where we're going to get the next 40 points from. We are definitely right in it now, etc.
Drama-Queen
-
I'm on light duties in my factory so I'm going to spend the afternoon (and evening) practising my brooming. Really.
-
It looks as though Gold has written Lambert's first team talk!!
-
Well done cackbeard. You lost 3-0 a couple of seasons ago so now you're looking to reverse the score. 0-3 it is then.
-
I would love that cnut to choke on one of his own dildo's
I really hope we beat the arial combat X1 on their own pitch - i almost detest fat sams face as much as Gold's
-
The only time I want to read or hear anything about Gold is with a paragraph containing the words.....beer, helicopter, bottle, mangled, hit, wreckage.
-
If we're not on telly again on Boxing Day I'll eat my hat and everybody else's.
You may find mine a bit tough and rather filling.
-
I reckon gregnash will reappear on here in December, that's when he will deem the honeymoon well and truly over for Lambert despite an unbeaten start to the season it will be a defeat to Chelsea that will cause him such glee.

West Ham chairman David Gold is excited about the Hammers' prospects after the release of the fixtures for 2012-13. "Look at my stupid beardy face. Don't you want to punch my stupid beardy face. My face is made for punching."

The likes of Carlton Cole and Mark Noble have got me quaking in my boots even at this early stage. Six points a cert for the kit stealers with that sort of pedigree
-
West Ham utd are a massive club run by very shrewd and highly respected owners. Their charismatic and likable manager gets them playing marvelous free flowing football so I expect we're in for a right thrashing.
-
We don't have a good record away to newly promoted teams early in the season.
Portsmouth springs to mind and more recently Newcastle (shudder!)

Don't forget they won the world cup too and invented the 'West Ham way of playing' - attractive for about three years out of the last thirty but with absolutely bog all end product. They also produced in Trevor Brooking the man with the most annoying voice in football outside of Alan Curbishley and Alan Smith (ex Palace, not the Sky/Arsenal/Villa supporting one!)

I'm going to spend the afternoon practising my booing
I spent all last season Boo'ing so I'm an expert.

I'm an apprentice blacksmith so I'm going to spend all day practising my shoeing.

I think it's brilliant that West Ham are back up. It will prompt many, many more incidents of pure stupidity and foot in mouth comments from the tosser twins. Did anyone really expect Tumnus to come out and be different? He's the classic village idiot and genuine West Ham fans will be thinking "why don't you just shut the fuck up for once". I hope we don't respond and go about our business and give them the beating they deserve.
-
Yeah that's what I thought?
I presumed all London clubs would play away first on police advice?
Can see this being moved to the Monday night game tbh
But with the Notting Hill Carnival (when none of the London clubs are allowed to play, that would mean 2 weekends with no home matches.
-
Beyond their owners, I don't have a problem with West Ham, to be honest.
Yeah, they go on about that World Cup thing, but we bang on about the European Cup a bit too much at times, too.
-
I'm an oil worker, I'll spend all day practicing my boring.
-
I reckon gregnash will reappear on here in December, that's when he will deem the honeymoon well and truly over for Lambert despite an unbeaten start to the season it will be a defeat to Chelsea that will cause him such glee.
It's almost as if he fucks off out of it when the goings good isn't it?

True Paulie, they are the least irritating perhaps of the major London clubs though I quite like Arsenal too - damning with faint praise mind you considering the competition
-
This has probably been mentioned before but when was the last time we won away on the first day? Newcastle 1999/2000?

Just mention that Robert Green was a West Ham player at the last world cup ;D

I work at a rehabilitation centre teaching former ladies of the night gardening skills. I'll be all day practicing my hoeing.

Yes but.... in the good old days you always had the opposites fixtures at the start/end and from season to season. Don't like it :'( :'( :'(

I've just seen the fixtures and for some reason they look harder and it seems we are going to play more tougher opponents successively than the opposite.
And away games to start and finish the season??? Wtf.

we play each team twice a season. It's no easier or harder than in any previous year and the format miraculously stays the same. Your perception if you are bricking it, is that the games are all hard, and in fairness likely not helped by coming off a dire season.
-
Not always you didn't.
We did.
-
Well our destiny is in our own hands. We're currently 2nd in the league level on points with Arsenal who are top. Title is there for the taking.

We did.
2006-07 - started & finished away.
2008-09 started & finished at home.
Other notable seasons, off the top of my head. 1980-81, 1987-88 & 1989-90, 2000-01, all away. 1982-83, 1988-89, home.
-
1980/81 we started and finished with away games. Worked out well that season.
And 81/82 was home and home.
-
Yes OK but still don't like iiiiit!

I know my post sounds strange but its what I first thought when seeing the fixtures compared to last season's. I guess the mantra of there are no easy games in the premier league is true.

I`m with Pete - lets be positive
at least until the end of August ;)

I remember DOL having a moan that we had a few seasons running with away games to start and finish with around his time. From memory, he had a point.

Not long to wait until Fulham away - awesome.

I would love that cnut to choke on one of his own dildo's
I really hope we beat the arial combat X1 on their own pitch - i almost detest fat sams face as much as Gold's
Must get down to Specsavers at first glimpse I could have sworn it read anal combat!
-
From the initial list and subject to alterations I'm going to try and beat my attendance from last season, and get to:
home v Everton
away v Fulham
away v Man City
home v Stoke
home v Wigan
away v Everton
home v Sunderland
away v Wigan
at the very least. Can't wait for the season to start now.
-
All the London away games, bar Arsenal, are before Christmas?
And I'm on Holiday for West Ham
-
West ham away first game. That will be interesting, my local is a West Ham bar. Need as many Villa lads across here as possible cause we are in the minority against the Hammers. Already upset a few of them with txt and e-mail haha.
-
Looks like it'll be us that finally relegate Wigan, then. Cracking.
As luck would have it I'm returning back to the UK around 11th October as the missus is due to give birth on the 14th. It'll be in London. And on the 20th we're away at Fulham! Couldn't have timed it all better. Then the following week I'll nip up to Brum for a home game and its Norwich. Nice.
-
There's no home game September 1st through September 9th. That is shit seing as I'm coming home for those days. I really wanted to watch us extend our lead at the top.
Lambert OUT!
-
not too bad a start, cant bloody wait for the season to start now!!!
-
The fixtures computer seems to be a bit of a lazy arse. I think this is the third season in a row where we play most of the Sky Six consecutively in November/December. The start is also similar to McLeish's "honeymoon opportunity" last season. Lambo doesn't really do draws, thankfully, so I'll be happy with 7 wins and 5 defeats from the first twelve.
Annoyed that I'm going to have a shit birthday on November 17th when we're away at Man City. And as has been mentioned, most of the London dates seem to be before Christmas. Should be living there by late in the year but will likely miss the chance to go to most of those games.

You have a very bad habit of introducing facts to back up an argument. It spoils a trivial moan!
-
Didn't we start 86/7 with a three nil home defeat to Spurs?
We looked relegated after 90 mins of football, I seem to remember.

International weekend. England play on the Friday and (I think) midweek.
Also the Saturday will be the annual Non-league day when those of us sad enough will try to persuade all you slaves of mammon to attend your local non-league ground while Villa have the week off.
-
Where do you fancy this year? Was thinking maybe Stratford or is Halesowen any good?

Anybody know when Sky are going to announce the fixture changes? Already found cheap trains I want to book for West Ham and Newcastle. But don't want to jump the gun incase we get fucked over with times/dates.

Have added the European and Cup dates so we have a better idea of which games are likely to be moved. Should also give an idea of when we have a chance of playing against a knackered/rotated team.

Where do you fancy this year? Was thinking maybe Stratford or is Halesowen any good?
Stratford's ground is out in the sticks with no decent pubs anywhere near.
Halesowen is a good shout but Woodhall will no doubt disagree.
There's a new club coming into the Midland Combination from the Birmingham AFA, Sutton United, they play within easy reach of Chester Road station meaning pre-match imbibing can be done in Sutton or Brum.
-
I would suggest Evesham United as its a new ground, but there's no pubs near the ground and I don't think there the types to do real ales etc
Stratfords ground is miles away from Stratford..
-
Man Utd at home on my birthday. Probably will be moved. Last time Villa played on my birthday (my 30th) we beat Blose 2-1. Gabby last minute. Happy days.
Wigan away last game sounds good. 5k+ away fans going up in fancy dress.
-
Anybody know when Sky are going to announce the fixture changes? Already found cheap trains I want to book for West Ham and Newcastle. But don't want to jump the gun incase we get fucked over with times/dates.
Definitely don't book anything for Newcastle. It'll be moved as they're in Europe the previous Thursday. You might get away with West Ham but I wouldn't book yet.
-

I've tweeted sky hoping for a prompt response. Your right about Newcastle. If its a Sunday, I'll drive and do a night out. No chance I'm going if its a Monday.
I've got a feeling that sky will move our West Ham game to a Sunday or a Monday. Will book off if its a Monday.
-
I'm pretty sure they'll pick the following three games:
Everton v Man U. Genuinely decent game and they can bang on about last year's 4-4.
Man City v Southampton. For some reason, they always pick Manchester title contender versus newly-promoted cannon fodder as a televised game.
Newcastle v Spurs - like the Everton one, actually looks a good game.
So by that logic, the West Ham game shouldn't get moved.
-
On a purely selfish tip my initial thoughts are that I'm chuffed, because we are away the three weekends where I've got tickets for music festivals. Down side is one of those is Fulham!
-
First day of the season could see five games being moved...
-
Any idea when we'll find out about ticket news for West Ham?
-
Any idea when we'll find out about ticket news for West Ham?
I'd say around mid July at a guess.
-
Does anyone know when Sky will pick the games they want to move around? I need to book the day off work for the Everton game and don't want them crapping all over my plans.
-
I'm sure I read it was 3rd July that Sky announced fixtures.
-
Worth mentioning that the African Cup of Nations runs from 19th January - 10th February. So we could be playing Newcastle at a good time, if Senegal qualify.
-
I'm sure I read it was 3rd July that Sky announced fixtures.
I'm pretty sure that last season I had one of those free fixture things the papers give away at the start of the season and it had the live SKY games from the first day up until around Christmas.
-
Just realized Chelsea are playing in the world club championships in Japan in the middle of December.
As we're playing them on December 22nd, I'm guessing that fixture will be moved?
-
The final is on the 16th so I don't see why. Hopefully their sheduled league game from the previous weekend will be moved to the midweek before they play us and they'll be knackered when we turn up.
-
I've heard a rumour that the West Ham game may be switched to Villa Park due that weekend being the Olympics closing weekend. Any truth in that?
Before you ask... Twitter (I know, I know)
-
The Olympics finish on 12th August.
-
Surely that would have been put into the fixture computer if it was true? There's a knock-on effect as Blues and Albion will be at home that weekend.
-
I was always under the impression the Olympics was three weeks not two!

Newcastle away always gets move for TV dosen't it?

We are also on ESPN for the match against Arsenal at home, on 24th November at 5.30pm.
Not worked out too well for me this year as I am at Twickenham on 10th November so will miss the Man Utd match. I may well be at Twickenham on 24th November as well.
Saturday 3pm's certainly are a thing of the past !!!
-
Great news that West Ham and Southampton away not changed for a start!
-
Matches against West Brom, Norwich, Manchester United, Arsenal and Reading have all moved for both Sky Sports and ESPN transmission.
Villa's match at home against the Baggies will now be played on Sunday September 30 at 4pm for Sky Sports.
Paul Lambert's reunion with the Canaries at Villa Park will now be played on Sunday October 28 at 1.30pm for Sky Sports.
Villa's clash with the Red Devils on home soil has switched time, with the Saturday November 10 match now kicking-off at 5.30pm for Sky Sports.
Villa's home match with Arsenal has also had its kick-off switched, with the Saturday November 24 clash starting at 5.30pm for ESPN coverage.
Reading's game at Villa Park will be played on Tuesday November 27 with an 8pm start for Sky Sports.
Villa's match against Newcastle United at the Sports Direct Arena has been moved to Sunday September 2, due to the Magpies involvement in the Europa League.
Villa's game at White Hart Lane against Tottenham has also moved to Sunday October 7 with a 3pm kick-off because of Spurs involvement in the Europa League.
-
The Newcastle & Spurs games getting switched might be handy for me, I might make both of those.
-
No away games on TV in the first half of the season?
-
United is traditionally a 5 30pm Saturday kick off anyways, no shocks there
Extra hours drinking time for West Brom. Ill just have to book a day off work to allow for a hangover
-
No away games on TV in the first half of the season?
Just goes to show how much they enjoy the hospitality at Villa Park.
-
Is this just Sky games? If it doesn't account for ESPN etc (or whoever has the rights) won't there be more changes?
-
No away games on TV in the first half of the season?
A hangover from the shite we put before the nation last season?
-

Same here, I was definitely going to have to miss Spurs when it was on the Sat but should now be OK

Its still ESPN for 2012/13

-
Just chuffed the Everton game is on a Saturday.
-
I've just subscribed to Sky Sports for 6 months hoping I would get to see a few away games but as the deal runs out in December looks like I've wasted my money.
Having said that I'm sure the matches at Villa Park will be so exciting that I'll be wanting to watch them again on Football First (unlike last season which is why I cancelled it in the first place).
-
Can't complain about the tv schedule.
-
Not too bad at all, although I bloody bet spuds at home on boxing day to be moved to a 8pm KO
Mark my words.
-
Anybody know when the tickets for the first few games go on sale?
-
Having said that I'm sure the matches at Villa Park will be so exciting that I'll be wanting to watch them again on Football First (unlike last season which is why I cancelled it in the first place).
All of our Saturday games were on Football First last season, not that I could be bothered to watch them again.
-
So what sort of attendances are we gonna get next season? I think we'll safely get around 35/36k every home game at least.
-
Same as most of the last 15 years probably. 30-35K if we're crap, 34-38 if we're decent, 38K+ for the big games.
-
Well I just meant in comparison to last season, but yeah you're right. I remember in the MON era when we were holding 4th place we got 40,000 in for Wigan at home.
-
We also got 27K under MON for a league game against Bolton and 30K v Blackburn & fulham in his first season. So even with the feel good factor of Ellis gone and MON as manager we were still capable of pretty crap gates, something a lot of folks seemed to forget last season when the only reason we had some low(ish) crowds was AM.
-
Just seen this. Gutted about Norwich as I may miss it. It would have been my son's first game- he's 3 31st August. Me, my dad , my nephew, and my son if it had have been on a Saturday. Shit. Still may be able to do Saturday but its touch and go. tut. fecking tut.
-

If I'm going to nit-pick I'd say that the Blackburn and Fulham games you mention were both on Sky, but you make a fair point.
But this time we have exciting new signings! :)
-
But this time we have exciting new signings! :)
Even better, we have exciting new foreign signings!
-
Everton game will be close to 40k I reckon as will WBA. Swansea will probably be a little lower. After that it depends how well we're doing in the league as ever.
