The last two seasons have only lasted for two games for me. I can only ever relax when I know we are safe. So last years season was one game against Liverpool and this years will be one game against Norwich. Good value for money eh.
I go to all the games at home and most away and haven't enjoyed any of them ! We've never been far enough in the lead to actually sit back and relax and just watch the footy. I've started a habit of leaving early because I'm sick with nerves, can't stand the thought of the inevitable late equaliser and need to pace about under the stands. I watched most of the second half at Anfield at pitch level through a gap in the gangway.
I can't even watch other footy for fear of wishing bad luck on another team (ie blues) and having it bounce back and bite me.
But now I can.
How I revelled in Cardiffs and Blackburns misery yesterday,I can't wait to don the orange t shirt on Wednesday to cheer on Blackpool now, I can anticipate a chuckle with the irony of Given saving penalties for Ireland next month and following England in the hope they win but not actually giving a flying fish if we don't.I've yet to decide if I want chelsea to win in Munich as that will depend on who finishes 4th.
Most of all though I can watch my beloved Aston Villa for a whole game next Sunday, boozed up, and enjoying it for once. Unless of course we're 4 or 5 down at half time......

andrew. I know exactly how you feel during games but I've found that this season has lowered my expectations so much that I don't get quite so nervous. In some ways it's quite liberating going to a match expecting so little and in the case of us earning a point it becomes a real bonus. I can't remember too much about what it felt like to win this season however, the end to the season has been more anxious than anticipated and I have taken no pleasure whatsoever from other fans' misery as it could so easily have been us.

I certainly know who i want to win in Munich - and it certainly aint Chelski
No Euro football of any type next season could see a exodus of their players and our great plan to drag everyone down to our level might just pay off
Only 17 other teams to work on now ;D

I've certainly enjoyed watching L-pool implode. All the talk end of last season was they were going to win the league etc. I remember fat Quinny on TalkShite saying "you mark my words, champions next season". Hahaha.

Highlight of my season as well.
As for Villa, it's like my nerves are deadened now. When we conceded those goals against Bolton I could only shrug. A lot of people around me were getting very upset though, which is fair enough.

Andrew, I know exactly what you mean. I haven't seen us win this season. The games I haven't seen, mostly I've tried to pretend weren't happening.
What concerns me is that I've become quite good at pretending Villa aren't playing. And soon I may not be able to tell the difference between pretending not to give a toss and *actually* not giving a toss.

They still have a trophy to their name and still have decent players in their team, to which the new owners will stump up the cash to add new ones. They may even get a new manager.
Sadly it seems Villa will have none of these things.

Not much left to enjoy is there? Let's hope for Blackpool and Bayern to do the necessary.

One of the H & V matchday sellers is a follower of Nuneaton. They play some nice footy apparently.

What does amuse me is if Nuneaton do get promoted, they could be playing Coventry a year later. Cov may finally find a proper rival.

Even early in the season i couldn't relax. After we beat Norwich in our 11th game of the season in the first week of November I knew that win was badly needed. At that stage we had 15 points from 11 games not bad? However we had only played Man City out of the big boys.
If we hadn't of beaten Norwich that day our situation would of been dismal when considering that included in our next 8 games we had Spurs, Man United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Stoke (away, which is a test) and Chelsea. Points would be hard to come by and it proved.
When we beat Fulham in the last minute, that should of been that 11 points clear and Bolton at home next with a strong enough team to beat them. Of course events that unfolded meant we were looking down the barrel after we eventually played Bolton a month later. Thankfully West Brom did the utmost to make it a relaxed final game against, Norwich.

For most of the season I've been nervous and it got to the point were it was affecting my moods I seemed to be down all the while but now we are safe I can relax and feel better than I did and I hope next season will be much better and I also hope Blackpool beat Small Heath.
