Title: Put your grievances to one side! for the sake of Aston Villa
Post by: rutski on April 26, 2012, 06:53:17 PM
ok, you may hate him, you may think the players are letting us down, you may think the board are deluded and dont know what they are doing, but i beg you! Back the Team 100% whilst they are on the pitch!
After the match vent your fury, frustration and anger at the situation we find ourselves in but whilst OUR team are on the pitch, support everymovement they make!
If you want to team to stay in this division you shouldnt even question these sentiments!
i sit there and my boys in the holte, lets make sure we are the 12th man for Villa!
Title: WE Have 270 Minutes To Save The Villa.
Post by: The Laughing Policeman on April 27, 2012, 07:29:28 PM
It's obvious that McLeish can't save us. So it's up to us fans to inspire the team with the loudest vocal support heard for years.
Tomorrow that place up the road should sound like The Villa are the home team and next Sunday Villa Park should rock like it hasn't since the days of Mr. Saunders.
IF THE MANAGER ISN'T UP TO IT LET US SHOW HIM WE ARE.

Yes, we need loads of threads saying the same thing...

I'll remember to quote this post the next time you start a new thread within five minutes of a match finishing saying all the same things as the post-match thread.

If we could make as much noise supporting the team as was made against AM on Tuesday i'd be a very happy man.

just think if he came out to do the half time raffle,
it would take the pressure of Mcleish for a bit

On Tuesday night we went beyond the point of return. We know it, the club, McLeish & even the media know that he is a dead man walking.

We need to ensure that we give 100% support to the players for all of the next 3 games. There should be nobody contemplating 'McLeish Out' days, protests, marches, booing etc... because anything that feeds the media frenzy and negativity surrounding the club will only make the difficult task of staying up even harder.

As far as I'm concerned our support at the stadium has been overwhelmingly supportive considering the circumstances. Nothing exceptionally out of line until Bolton and that wasn't even that bad. We're just lucky Randy was there to hear it.

We're loud as shit, mate. You know that right?

Wigan away, second half got a bit nasty but other than that and Bolton as you mention the fans have been very patient.

I'd go as far to say surprisingly so.

Only a few years ago they would have been banging seats in frustration at a scoreless draw.

As much as he's universally disliked in his role he's not an unlikeable person, I think that is what has saved him from the mob so far.

@MatKendrick Hope my boss lets me break with convention and make the phenomenally supportive Villa fans my 'man of the match' today.

Like him or not, Mat knows the Villa.. and I agree with him.

McLeish got some deserved stick at Wigan, but the support for the team never wavered.  Lots of the players came over and made a point of clapping the fans at the end.

indeed. the support for the team was excellent up at wigan, with every anti-AMc chant being followed by a positive VTID/lions flag flying high type song. impressive.

whats the point of the protest ?  to tell Randy to get rid of Mcleish.

Mcleish is going anyway,
no matter what happens between now and the end of the season, so there is no point

your need to vent your spleen will not do anything to help the players on the pitch!
go home, truss your self up, put an orange in your mouth and turn your gas off! at least you will satisfy your carnal desire that way boy!

Harsh. RL & PF still have to be reminded that this managerial appointment was an absolute disaster, from it's inception right through to the current day.

What a strange mix response of allusions and visualisations! Calm the fuck down ;-)

We "vented" on Tuesday and look at the reaction afterwards - "people" (OK the press) finally woke up to the fact that AM is not a very good manager. We did not "vent" during the previous months of the season and the team were shite.

I don't know the evidence base for the effect of"venting" on footballers - maybe you do?

You are creating agendas here Rutski - "Too many knuckle heads still wanting to create a bad atmosphere in the ground" -  well thanks for that insult; not really appreciated.

I take it you were there on Tuesday and heard the tremendous support for all but 4 minutes?

You can do both kidder it's not an either/or.

Anyway I will retire from this as you are obviously a bit worked up.

i was there tuesday, i was there at his first away game at fulham and 10 other away games. as a crowd i think we have been very patient! the football has been poor and the message will now have been firmly recieved between the ears of randy!
but we are not mathematically safe, no amount of vitriol and abuse that you or i can shout will help the players on the pitch one bit! he is gone, fucked off, finished and so we need to back the team and forget about the ginger twat! he is part of our history, albeit a shit part!
no one will ever convince me that booing whilst the game is going on will help the team one iota.

@MatKendrick Hope my boss lets me break with convention and make the phenomenally supportive Villa fans my 'man of the match' today.

The fans also got my MOTM vote in the post Match Thread on Saturday. Overall this season, I think they've been load and proud. Recently they've really surprised me with their support for the team and waiting 86 minutes against Bolton before showing a season's frustration was fully understandable.

It's reaffirming to see such class especially when I've doubted some of our new lot are more obsessed with the Rags than they are about the Villa. Obviously they'll always be a twat or two but this season with all it's difficulties has gone to show we're a breed apart.

Let's hope next season we have a team that deserves such great support.

Do you not think its better for the team to play in a positive atmosphere on Sunday, rather than a poisonous one? It was horrible against Bolton, and I don't think 90 minutes of that would be all that great for the team or anyone watching.

Forget the supporters. McLeish needs to really go for this one. We rolled over for Spurs at the lane. I work with a lot of Spurs fans and I can honestly say that was one of them most embarrassing performances I had ever seen.

The players know what's at risk, they know the supporters are livid, and they know there's only one thing that can be done to around this poison atmosphere. Win a damn game. Hell, get a shot on net.
