Just watched on the AVFC website a feature on 'Villa in Harmony' where a delegation team from the Club visited my local Sikh Temple in Handsworth.
I am EXTREMELY PROUD that the club including Villa Manager Alex Mcleish visited, looked around and gave a coaching session to the local Sikh Primary School.
I wish I would have known in advance they were coming and I would have pulled a fast one at work and dashed across for it! Doh.
To have the club take part in community harmony building is awe-inspiring for me. Ive been a fan now for 25 years and I never thought I would see Villa at my place of worship. I am proud to be a Sikh and proud to be an Aston Villa Fan. 2 important things in my life coming together is just amazing.
Kudos to the club for this initiative but then Aston Villa lead the way in humanitarian concern & bringing communities together - Support for the Acorns trust.
Well Done Aston Villa Football Club.

They showed the Villa visit to the temple on Match of The Day last week - the Sunday morning version of MOTD

...and I missed it !! Bugger.

It's all the idea of peter_w so it is.

The amount of Sikhs that support Liverpool is unreal...
Good work from Villa though and I hope it helps us to expand our fanbase in inner-city Birmingham.

I also saw it but was annoyed when mcleish came on, he offends me with his face! Even when the Villa aren't playing I can't get away from his Bulldog features

Yet another thing to add to the list of why I'm proud to be a Villa fan.
Never mind the Glory Days on the pitch, it's these "little" things that go unnoticed off the pitch that make me proud to wear the Claret & Blue.

The Villa take part in a praiseworthy initative with local people and you're annoyed because the manager is involved?

Why? Is that really of any relevance?

Well done Villa. Poor on the pitch but still a class act off it.

It's not, was a bit tongue in cheek. Apologies

Accepted.

Everything that Villa do as a club makes me incredibly proud - apart from what I see on the pitch
