I see that these are on sale now for £39, and have heard from a Man U contact that we are being moved to NT3, the upper tier section at right angles to the Stretford End, pretty much on the diagonal from the existing away section. If true, a climb that beats even St James Park awaits.
-
The tickets have an health warning on them!
-
I think we sat there in the Cup game a few years back and the seats were fine.
-
No mountain high enough ...to follow the Villa. I'll be there!
-
£39? A snip when you consider what 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' are charging.
-
That's bad news as it takes us further away from the station.
-
What allocation have we got for this?
-
What allocation have we got for this?
I am reliably informed that we have only asked for the initial 1700, the balancing 1300 having to be paid for in full, irrespective of whether we sell them or not.

Which is always the case and which is why I believe we have only taken initial allocations all season.

No, I went. Those were in East upper. These are in the third tier in the stand to the right of the old scoreboard end.
-
Surely if it's reduced, they'd just moved the netting to the right in the corner. I really can't see 1, 700 fans being moved to the upper tier, don't Manure have season ticket holders up there?
-
Read in the Observer today that Man U are thinking of moving the away fans and are trialling things with their game against us and seeing how it goes. Apparently we're in the Gods of the third tier of the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand.
How could moving the away fans that far away improve the atmosphere?
-
196 steps I've been told. That's worse than Newcastle. Can't wait...

Atmosphere? at Old Trafford? At the moment the away fans at Old Trafford are a hindrance to be tolerated by the Prawn sandwich munching cockneys. In addition if they move the away fans it gives them the chance to potentially increase the allocation as they can't sell out their own.
If any gloryhunting United fan ever tells you he can't go because its impossible to get tickets it might be worth mentioing that if he rings the ticket office he'll be able to get one no problem they've been on general sale to I think all but 2 of Uniteds home games this season. What I really like is how they try to make the adverts they put in the MEN as small as possible. I just cut them out and put them on the Gloryhunters desk at work....

A friend of mine from home (Birmingham) phoned me up and asked me if I could get him tickets using my Manchester contacts for Utd v Wigan. I told him every game had been on general sale this season. He told me to shut the fuck up. He's still sat on his arse waiting for his tickets!

We live in Manchester. I have more good friends that have season tickets at Old Trafford than at Eastlands. Most Citeh's supporting population is actually in Stockport.

Are you a very bad troll, or are you genuinely this stupid?
-
Real Mancs support City.
You're like some form of bot, programmed to spout utter bollocks at random points.
-
I lived in Manchester for 6 years, played football for 2 different teams, the majority of my mates and team mates were Manure Fans, when we played teams around the inner city it was more blue than red, its just like Brum, it very much depends on the area. To say there are not Mancunian reds is just daft.
-
Real Mancs support City.
Real Mancs support City.
What are you called on the Man City fan site? Ancoats City?
-
Newton Heath's away support always appears to be made up of Mancs with a few GH's but it seems to be the opposite way round at Old Trafford.
And I can't see how moving visiting fans away further away from the pitch is going to improve the atmosphere either, I prefer the away fans to be as audible as they can, when games are dull it's the only thing to provoke sleepy home support.

Someone who goes to King Edwards 6th Form I would hope could not be terminally stupid so I'll suggest it's the worst trolling in the history of the internet.

Heaven forbid but I think he is correct about there only being 1 football (league) team in Manchester - I think Utd are located in the City of Salford.
-
Trafford borough I think. Not Manchester anyway.

He is right. I know a City fan who regularly (boringly) labours that point.
-
Yep, Trafford Borough for Man United, not Salford.
Although the nonsense about "real mancs" only supporting Man City is a convenient myth which is generally laughed off by the 50% of "real" mancunians who support Man United.
-
Whenever i've visited Manchester on non match days I see (or rather notice) far more United fans than City.
-

So do I.
-
Maybe Citeh fans live in the same mythical world that the noses do with regards to Villa having no fans in B'ham etc...
They've told themselves it so many times that they actually believe it. Unfortunately for them nobody else does.
-
Whenever i've visited Manchester on non match days I see (or rather notice) far more United fans than City
they're not real mancs though. Man United have them bussed in from satellite towns in Lancashire and Cheshire to fool the tourists
-
Most people in Manchester support Man United. Most people in Stockport support Man City.
-
Is football trying to commit suicide?
The atmosphere at football grounds has been deteriorating for years and putting aways fans as far away from the pitch may give an advantage on the pitch but it kills any chance of enjoying the match for the away support who will eventually give up.
-
Most people in Manchester support Man United. Most people in Stockport support Man City.
most people in Newport Pagnell support Man utd
-
most people in Newport Pagnell support Man utd
typical - they should all support their local team, Newport County
-
Okay it's true that Man U do have Manc fans but Man City are more of a Manc club in that a higher % of their fans are from Manchester.
Most Man City fans are from Greater Manchester.
Most Man U fans are not from Greater Manchester.
-
when we played teams around the inner city it was more blue than red, its just like Brum
Inner-city Brum is red - Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal.

agree, its only 200 mile down the road

Really not sure what you're trying to prove here, but Manchester is just about split down the middle in terms of United and City fans, with United maybe having the edge.
Then again, my theory is only based on over 10 years of living up there and as I don't have the advantage of owning FIFA 12 to confirm this, you'll just have to take my word for it, kid.
-
When a team has an estimated fanbase of 300m, it's hardly surprising that the majority aren't from Manchester... In my experiences, the majority of Mancunians are United fans. Also, this idea that every single City fan comes from Manchester is total bollocks, I always see City fans on Manchester-bound trains from the south when they're at home...
-
Everton, Man City, small heath. All play in blue. All are the inferior side in their city. All claim that their respective city is mainly made up of their fans with their superior neighbours being out of town glory hunters.
Everton, Man City, small heath, separated at birth.
-

Give it five years and there will be more Man City fans from outside than inside Manchester too.

I believe without saying it he's comparing it to the Small Heath propaganda that more people in Birmingham support them than Us. Which we all know is a complete load of bollocks. Manchester is no different apart from its probably a bit more of an even split than in Birmingham.

My best mate lived in Worsley for 10 years or more, I spent loads of time up there & Manchester is way more red than blue. Most of the reds detest the 'tourists' and tend to give them a lot of grief at OT.
-
Okay it's true that Man U do have Manc fans but Man City are more of a Manc club in that a higher % of their fans are from Manchester.
By that argument Birmingham City are more of a Brum club then because a higher percentage of Blues fans will be from Birmingham than Villa fans who get a lot of support from the satellite towns such as Tamworth, Bromsgrove, Redditch etc.?
-

Tamworth, Lichfield, Bromsgrove, Redditch etc are basically like Greater Birmingham though.
They don't exactly have different accents than Brummies.
They are basically Brummies.
That is a lot different to Man U and their fans from Devon or Cornwall or Surrey or wherever.
Also Blues get a lot of support from the Solihull borough which we could consider to be outside Birmingham...

I agree with Everton and Man City fans.
Most Liverpool and Man U fans are gloryhunting out-of-towners.
However I do not agree with Small Heath.
Most Villa fans are from Greater Birmingham.
I do not consider a Villa fan from Tamworth a gloryhunter or a out-of-towner.

I think this happens with Liverpool as well. Some of the Scouse Reds resent all the Norweigen/Southern/Asian reds who support their club.

I think you should ask the good people of Tamworth, Redditch, Bromsgrove et al whether they consider themselves to be Brummies before you just decide they are! How about our Black Country friends? Are they Brummies? They speak a bit like Brummies, they live nearer to Brum than someone in Tamworth does.
You really do spout some bollocks!
-
Just a little.

Sorry to go back on topic here. But could moving away supporters to improve atmosphere due to the new location's proximity to the Stretford End?
I seem to remember a few asking the General to move away fans next the Holte a few years back to increase the 'banter' (I hate that word)

Banter is the lowest form of wit. Sarcasm pleased and relieved at ruling.

-
Some recent (paraphrased) examples of banter include:
"Whats the matter Negrito?"
"someone get down there and tell her the offside rule for god's sake"
"there's something wrong with my mic, look"
And, of course, an old favourite that I'm sure all of us laugh along with:
"F**k off, you Villa c**t!"

Who said the last quote? Ed Milliband?
-
I think it was Kate Middleton.
