IanRobbo has apparently had some details of prototype kits for next season sent over to him and along with Luke Marshall has created visualisations based on the details they have received. Here is a link to the site as they deserve credit:

Home Kit
(http://robosvillablog.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/image_2-1.png)
Looks like a recreation of the 1982 Home Kit, which is something I wanted for this season with it being the 30yr anniversary etc but its a nice kit. I really dislike the diamond pattern though, prefer the checks (which I love on this years kit if I'm honest). The weird claret bit on the collar doesnt look great either, should just make it a blue collar.
Also glad to see that in this prototype there arent macron logo's down the arms.
Away Kit
(http://robosvillablog.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/image_1-2.png)
The less said the better imo. Awful.
-
The away kit looks like something a golfer would be ashamed to wear.
-
Home kit looks great, away kit looks like someone spilled custard on the original design and they just decided to run with it.
-
The away must have been modeled on Makoun's jumper.
Like the absence of checks on the home. I hate checks.
-
Urgh!
-
Bear in mind where it's come from.
-
The away kit looks like something a golfer would be ashamed to wear.
Couldn't have said it better myself. That is a shocker.
-
Will Pringle be sueing for copyright breach? Which reminds me I never did find that Makoun jumper anywhere.
Oh love the home and the away would be a.laugh for a season.
-
Home yes absolutely. Away, I find hard to believe, but if it is, fuck it why not? It's been all doom and gloom around here. Let's do something nuts like that for a year.
-
The away kit looks like a very big ugly sock.
-
Luke you need to lay off the drugs for a bit.
-
Are we going for the "sports casual" look to coincide with the forthcoming Alan Partridge movie? I fully approve, if so.
-
Home nice away awfull
-
That away kit is the most hideous thing I have ever seen.
-
The away kit looks like something marseille would wear.
-
The home is decent enough. But the away? Well at least it isn't blue, but my god it's shit.
-
The away kit looks like Newcastle's Solero kit they wore in the Championship... I hope it's not an omen.
Home kit is good though.
-
They look like kits worn by teams in the Championship, especially the away
-

I dunno, I'd settle for a year spanking the shit out of everyone in division two if it meant we'd be where they are now in three years time.
-

Love this attitude Toronto! Why not go nuts!!
-
I love that home kit. The away has given me a headache.
-
Looks like Championship tat to me.
-
Looks like Championship tat to me.
Totally agree.
That away kit hurts your eyes. An abomination.
-
As someone else has said the away kit is pants it looks like a golfer pringle jumper but yellow is the preferred method of playing at the moment I suppose? I am supprised no one has suggested a protest march against the away kit.
-
Hahahaha.
Awesome.
-
The team have been playing like jokers for a while,so fcuk it,dress them up like jesters for the away matches.
-
Are we going for the "sports casual" look to coincide with the forthcoming Alan Partridge movie? I fully approve, if so.
The socks are missing a double cadet stripe.
-
Looks like Championship tat to me.
Well from your view on Macron from day one, they could have both been instant classics but because they didn't have a swoosh that would have been your answer.
Anyway as far as I'm aware these are kit designs based on descriptions so we will have to wait and see, and it is no worse then some if the away kits worn by Premier sides like Chelsea or Everton in recent years.
-
I wouldn't get too excited about these. They're mock-ups based on the details given.
I'm still firmly behind Macron to deliver a couple of good strips next season.
-

I won't get too exited, given their source.
-
How can someone get paid to design that away shirt? Makes you wonder if the designers make them Shit on purpose. probably an office joke
-
Claret body and blue sleeves, it is all that really matters. The rest is just variation of the same, and much of it I could not care less about. This lot are paying us and see us as their big customer, so are instantly better than Nike who could not care less.
-

Right from the off I expected them to design something that would be fit for a Championship or even a non league team and by the look of it they don't look like proving me wrong. Everything about them screams of small time, and that where we're heading.
-
So what is wrong with the home kit that is so championship or non league then. Assuming that these are accurate representations of course.
-
I do like the home kit I would buy it but I don't really like the away one.
-
The away-kit design is just daft, but the blue triangle on the home-kit's collar looks like an evil pointy beard, and I like that!
-
I read elsewhere that Everton have Nike for next season, and QPR have Umbro. Be interesting to see the details of their deals in comparison to ours.
-
Maybe it's me, but I quite like the away kit, it's certainly different.
I will add, though, that I'd prefer an all white away top with claret shorts.
Could have been worse, it could have been gree, black and red stripes ;)
-
The away one reminds me of the Geordies 'Solero' kit when they were in the championship a few years ago for some reason. In a word, Horrific.
edit: Didn't read the whole thread, I see someone already mentioned that.
-
Home Shirt:
Its ok but we've had claret body and blue sleeves for the last 20 years except in 3 seasons - when we didn't wear the standard issue we won the League cup, reached an FA Cup final and won the Youth cup plus the coveted Intergalactic cup. Changing the home shirt style is good for us - time for something different.
Away Shirt:
A step too far, I thought it was the keepers shirt to begin with. We had some nice blue with claret trim efforts in the 60's why not go for something similar.
-
The away kit is so hideous I actually quite like it. I was demented enough to love the 93-95 green and black special. Though winning a cup in that time probably makes it that bit more cherished in my heart.
-
How can someone get paid to design that away shirt? Makes you wonder if the designers make them Shit on purpose. probably an office joke
The away kit looks like something Small Heath would wear .
-
"[The Away shirt] is a shirt designed to make a show because the away should not be conservative as often not worn."
I agree with the sentiment but not the delivery, it's not even the colour I object to, but that pattern. Is it the Aston tartan?
-
Home great, away nah
-
Richard Dunne would look amusing in the away kit.
-
I am now reading the title of this thread as macro prototype kills season - but I am 3 pints in at Blackburn.
-

If only Villa can get 3 pts
-
Richard Dunne would look amusing in the away kit.
Hopefully he and the rest of our comedy defence would refuse to wear it.
-
Is it too much to ask to just have a claret shirt with blue sleeves?
No checks, no lines, no patterns, no half and half shirt, no laces etc...
We have a fantastic shirt design already we should just copy the 1980/81 shirt and add the new badge.
-

Hopefully he and the rest of our comedy defence won't be here to have the option of wearing it.
-
Away kit looks like it's modelled on the dress code of a 1970s New York pimp.
-
Yellow is the colour of cowards.
Pale yellow is the colour of weak, ineffective cowards.
Sounds like the way the team plays at times.
-
Perhaps they'll be treading the primrose path of dalliance.
-

Brazil?
-
I can see Ronnie Corbett sitting in an armchair telling jokes in that away shirt.

Brazil?
Wrong shade of yellow.
Heskey, Hutton, McLeish .... will never appear in the same sentence as ....
-
I do need something to wear to Pub Golf at Uni, I'll probably get the yellow one in that case!
-
Oh dear, the home shirt isn't bad but still needs tidying up!
-

This.
That away kit is totally shite!
-
Home kit nice... away kit Aaargh!
-
well it just gets worse by the day
-
Based on the assumption that these are the actual kits, the home one is fine. The away one will sell into triple figures at the most.
-
The home kit is ok, but the away kit is shockingly bad!!! Imo the best home and away kit ever was the Umbro 80/81 kit. The away kit has never been bettered!!! Although I actually liked the yellow away kit that we had way back sometime in the 70s. The one with the blue collar and badge. Apparently when they wore it for the first time the villa fans started booing thinking that it was the opposition. Also liked the yellow away kit from mid 90s. I think BFR was the manager and we only wore it once at Liverpool in the FA cup. Wish we could go back to the round badge too!
-
That away kit is ideal for those oh-so-funny chav stag party 'pub golf' affairs.
-
Home - Give it a collar.
Away - Give it a bonfire.
-
Home kit is fine
Awaye kit has given me a migraine. I've just had to put my sunglasses on....awful design. I hope this is not for real.

I'm sure we wore that yellow kit on at least one other occasion that season, it was either Forest away or Palace away
-
We definitely wore it at Forest, losing 2-0. In fact we lost every game we played in it IIRC.
-
Maybe in years to come the away kit will be mentioned in the same breath as the Muller kits for really awful kits. Legendary.
-
I really like the home kit, they've kept it nice and simple but then have gone nuts on the away kit.
-
The design of that away kit is so shocking that it makes the crappy home kit look half decent.
rags
-
I really like the home kit, they've kept it nice and simple but then have gone nuts on the away kit.
Read the first dozen or so words of the opening post before taking these designs too seriously ;-)

you don't need to read past the first word/name to know it's likely utterly bollocks.
-
Yeah man, I'd buy both
-
The away kit looks like a very big ugly sock.
Look good on the manager then
-
The home kit looks absolutely fine.
The away kit ensures this.
-
I like the look of the home kit.
I wouldn't mind Yellow as an away kit (like the early 70's one) but that is just a middle aged golfer's wet dream, really hope they change that.

He's not the only one drivelling on there. One's moaning that the Villa won't say what he wants them to say and another is moaning even louder that the Mail isn't saying what he wants them to say. Life's just so unfair when it doesn't revolve around you.

The bloke is unbelievable.

Not the real kits but 2 more away ideas
(http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/5862/yellowaway.png)
-
Love the yellow one. They're both excellent in fact.
-
Love the lower one. Not sure we'd get away with it if the Kit Stealers come back up though.
Are you sure you don't do this professionally marshall?
-
Aye, not crazy about yellow as a Villa away kit generally.
But that's a decent effort.
-
I've always thought our away kit should have some form of claret and blue trim on it.
-
That home kit is ok from design point of view but not enough blue on it...looks more like a Scunnie strip
-
Like them both, though we'd probably need white shorts on the claret one, or we'd have a situation like we did with West Ham a few years ago.
-
If Randy has anything to do with it, judging by the feedback on here, the yellow diamonds one will probably be our home kit.
-
The yellow one is top drawer. Badge without the background looks ace. Not so keen on the second one, but that's just my opinion.
-
Like the yellow one.
-
Like them both, though we'd probably need white shorts on the claret one, or we'd have a situation like we did with West Ham a few years ago.
Just wear our home shorts
-
I like the second yellow away on page 6, not the golf one and I like the second home one but it needs more blue.
-
I like marshalls attempt at the yellow away shirt but I think the blue should be a touch lighter a la the '69-'73 shirt.
Why do we need to have stupid patterns woven into the shirts....diamonds or squares? Keep it plain and simple.
-
I know it wont make any difference but should I email the club these 3 kits
(http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/6529/newcollarcopy.png)

-
Email them to Macron. You never know you may be offered a job as a designer. :)
-
I like those three, if you moved the macron logo down a bit on the arms it would be a replica of the 82 kits, lovely!
-
Marshall, could you do a mock up of an away kit that we had back in the 60's - possibly 70's - and brought up to date? Lght blue shirts white shorts, light blue socks all with a claret trim.

Magic darts Marshall. The home and light blue away... love them.
Cant see the badge being changed due to coroprate identity issues but based on your designs, it should.
The club needs to know about these designs. They'd sell a shitload of them. Perhaps ten shitloads.

I think I may be disappointed in the actual kit after seeing these latest ideas. I absolutely love the collar and the Villa emblem.
-
Brilliant kit
Do us an away kit of all white with claret and blue piping to match as much as possible the home layout and you have the job as far as I am concerned

The badge is our equivalent of Dr Who - whichever one you grew up with is the one you call 'real.
-
Thank you Marshall, with white shorts i think that would look great, though I think the piping would have to run down the side of the shorts which is perhaps a bit too much in the adidas style of things!
-
Marshall well done, great designs, If I was Macron I would offer you a deal.
-
The badge is our equivalent of Dr Who - whichever one you grew up with is the one you call 'real.
Yep.
And the latest one is really shit.
-
I always hope we go for a light blue away kit (the Collymore one from ‘97/98 remains one of my favourites) but we seem to shy away from a dominant blue shirt, presumably due to the other lot’s main colour being a different shade of it. A shame really. I never like the yellow or black away kits. Light (sky?) blue is one of our two colours so I don’t see the shame in it being used predominantly in an away strip. West Ham have had some lovely blue away kits with a dash of claret and white over the years.
-
Love the aways.
The home ones are a bit West Ham (which is always going to be an issue, seeing as we have the same colours and now the same kit manufacturer).
I'm not crazy about the checks we've tried to implement these past two seasons, but they do at least separate us from that mob. And this years version is better than last. The black socks look okay too - I'd prefer to see us go with black shorts as well in the away games where we opt for the home shirt. Rather than claret shorts. Just looks a bit weird.
Failing that, the home strip based on the 1982 effort earlier in the thread gets my vote. But that neck needs sorting out.
-
The badge is our equivalent of Dr Who - whichever one you grew up with is the one you call 'real.
The analogy breaks down with the Sylvester McCoy that is our current badge.
-
The round badge is my favourite. A yellow lion is simply wrong.

I sent the club an yesterday attached with 4 designs I did, today I got a reply
Hello Luke
Thank you for your ideas around kit. I will forward these on to the design team at Macron. I can assure you that fan feedback and ideas are very important parts of the design process.

If they care about us (unlike Nike) then I think they'll do a great job.

That is two cracking kits Marshal. Love the badge on the shirt and the simplicity of the designs.

You may of noticed that some of the ideas for my kits came from the Napoli kit, mainly the collar

As much as the design needs to be good, I hope the product material used is quality. The Nike material used in the last kit was crap. Even if they need to have a different material for the players due to sweat/temperature control then so be it, but the retail version needs to be more sturdy. Fans wear these in all circumstances and don't have luxury of being provided with a free new one once the old wears down.

Get this into the club, they have to see thes mock ups.
I have sent them
These designs are excellent and the badge is what I had hoped for back in 2007 rather than the travesty that we ended up with.
-
I'd be stunned if they chnaged the badge though I would certainly welcome it based on Luke's designs. I don't hate the badge, but neither am I a fan of it.
-
A gold lion with sharper detail would have been fine - and a nod to the tiled mosaics on the old Trinity.
But light yellow on a light blue background was always a bit pants, as is the different fonts for AVFC and the club motto.

I agree. The current badge is shockingly poor.

It's still better than the previous one which I hated.
I love the round badge, probably because it's the first one I remember.
-
Yeah I agree the round badge was the best in my lifetime but even though the previous "shield" wasnt great either, it was still better than the current effort...the colours and fonts just dont work together at all.

Loving the badge on those mock ups.
I don't really mind that much about the design, as long as we go back to sky blue socks!
