Everton (H) Draw
Wolves (A) Win
QPR (H) Win
Newcastle (A) Draw
8 would do nicely...
-
Can't see us getting 8 leeg, but fingers crossed
-
This is what I said on another thread.
There's a potential 12 points there as none of those sides impress me at the moment. But I wouldn't be surprised if we only managed 1 or 2.
-
12's possible..... Its a funny old game.
Ive always thought win at home and draw away so I'll agree with Legion and say 8 will do nicely.
-
It's impossible to predict with the way we're going at the moment. I think it's safe to say we'll end up with around 46 points come the end of the season though.
-
6. Lose at Wolves and against Everton but beat Newcastle and QPR.
-
Everton (H) Lose
Wolves (A) Win pleeeeeeease
QPR (H) Draw
Newcastle (A) Draw
-
think we'll lose at wolves beat qpr and draw other two, so 5 pts .
-
3points. reckon we'll finish on about 40 points. Hopefully that will be enough but can't see 2012 being any better than 2011
-
I think we'll get 3 from the QPR game and lose the other 3.
-
Everton (H) Draw
Wolves (A) Win
QPR (H) Win
Newcastle (A) Draw
8 would do nicely...
Another way of looking at this conundrum is this, i could see 3 of those teams beating Swansea or at least 2 wins and 1 draw, QPR would be the question mark and that could change in the Jan transfer market, so the point is, Swansea beat Villa with ease today.
-
4 points. A win and a draw.
-

Another way of looking at is I could see all 4 losing to Chelsea, we beat Chelsea. What other teams may or may not do to each other has little relevance over how many points we get from games.
-
Everton (H) Win
Wolves (A) Draw
QPR (H) Win
Newcastle (A) Lose
7 points. Reasonable.

Yes but another way of looking at it is would you bet on Chelsea beating all those sides (not that its important what Chelsea do) I wouldn't, both Newcastle and Everton are capable the way Chelsea are playing so that's a bet I wouldn't make, likewise if we can lose at home to Swansea, any of those teams can give Villa a very hard time IMO.
-
Well would you bet on 3 of those sides beating Swansea, which was your original point?
As I said, and you seem to agree with, it's what we do that gives the best indication of future games, not what other sides may or may not do to each other.

I'll bring Stephen Hawking in on this, totally agree the end game is how we perform, if it was that easy we'd all be millionaires and the bookies broke.
My main point was, I could see Swansea being beaten by at least 3 of the mentioned teams, the Swans beat us easily today, so, on that basis I don't think this will be easy by any means, the Everton game is massive, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if we got just 1 win in those 4 games.
-
Everton (H) Win
Wolves (A) Draw
QPR (H) Win
Newcastle (A) Lose
If we keep the faith with our 4231 and don't re-introduce the likes of Heskey then I think the above is possible. They're certainly the sort of games that we'd expect points if we do not end up in a relegation battle.
-
Anything from 3 to 5 points at best:
Everton - draw or lose
Wolves - draw or lose
QPR - draw or win
Newcastle - lose
Everton: I think the poor home form will continue so we'll be unable to break down Everton whilst remaining open to conceding at set pieces, so would be happy with a draw.
Wolves: they will be up for the game more than us and it will be a hostile atmosphere. Wouldnt at all be surprised if we get a player sent off and lose by a penalty decision.
QPR: We desperately need a win and it seems we are only capable of beating the few clubs below us at VP, and it will be a must win fixture by the time this game comes about.
Newcastle: Demba Ba could have a field day if current form is anything to go by.
...and thats me being realistically optimistic!
-
It all depends which Villa side turns up on the day, but Wolves have had it over us lately and Everton are always dangerous, only QPR am i reasonably confident about, 4-5 points at the most.
-
I wouldn't be confident about any of them, which is just wrong really, but then I thought we'd beat Chelski and lose today, so perhaps not! QPR will spend this month, whereas we won't, and it might make a difference! Not good, not good at all!
-
I haven't got a scooby what the results will be.
-
I'll go with 8.
-
5 I reckon . maybe beating qpr
-
Everton (H) Win
Wolves (A) Win
QPR (H) Draw
Newcastle (A) Loss
7 points for me. Think we'll smash Bristol Rovers, take confidence into the next 2 games, then ruin it at home to QPR.
-
On paper they're all 'winnable', but fuck knows how we'll play.
I'd say 6 is the minimum we should be getting and 8 would represent good form. 9+ is nose bleed territory.
-
agree with most of points on here, i have not a clue which Aston Villa will turn up on any given moment. Anything from 2 to 10 points for me, as long as we beat the dogheads (make my life hell round here if we lost) and show more consistency at home are my minimum requirements.
-
Everton (H) Draw
Wolves (A) Lose
QPR (H) Win
Newcastle (A) Lose
Just the 4 from me.
-
Everton - Lose
Wolves - Draw
QPR - Win
Newcastle - Lose
-
4 I think. We're getting dragged into the relegation mix.
-
I reckon 5 points and that for me would be a pretty decent return considering how inconsistent and vulnerable we are especially after the horror show against Swansea
Everton Draw
Wolves Draw
Qpr Win
Newcastle Defeat
-
Villaa! We win a point a game, we win a point a game.
-
I'm going eight. A couple of home wins and a couple of away draws.
-
5 for me. Draws against Everton and wolves. Win against QPR and loss at Newcastle.
-
Everton (H) Win
Wolves (A) Win
QPR (H) Draw
Newcastle (A) Loss
-
Everton (H) - Win
Wolves (A) Lose
QPR (H) Win
Newcastle (A) Draw
7 points.
-
Beat QPR, draw the other 3
-
Demba Ba will be in Africa won't he?
-
Demba Ba will be in Africa won't he?
Good shout. Forgot about that... Quarter finals are played on the 4th feb. Even if Senegal don't qualify from the groups he may not be back and fit in time.
Isn't there a stat on newcastles goals on how many ba has compared to the rest of the team? That he's scored virtually all their goals?
-
With Sunderland winning, we are now only out the bottom 6 on goal difference.
-
ill go with 4,draw at Wolves and Beat QPR
-
4 for me too, a win and a draw
-
Is Ba at the African Nations then?
Going to go for 3. Lose 3, win 1.

It's deja vu all over again!

Newcastle manager Pardew in a fight to keep Tiote and Ba

Newcastle have asked the FA for help in delaying the departures of Cheik Tiote and Demba Ba to the Africa Cup of Nations this weekend.
Ivory Coast midfielder Tiote and Newcastle top scorer and Senegal striker Ba are due to play their last Barclays Premier League game against Manchester United on Wednesday night before joining their international team-mates in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
But Newcastle boss Alan Pardew wants the pair, who could be away for a month, to be available for Saturday's home FA Cup tie against Blackburn and has asked the FA to clarify when Tiote and Ba must be released according to FIFA rules.
So far, direct contact with the Ivory Coast and Senegal FAs has proved fruitless.
Pardew said: 'We're in contact with the FA to see what's been decided with every other club, because it has to be fair. There's an impact on us, losing those two players, and we're trying to make sure they play against Blackburn.
'We want to know when all the African players are going - on Saturday morning, or Friday, or after the game on Sunday. When is it they have to report officially?'
