Not sure, I think MON will wait for a post at Spurs, Everton or Sunderland to come up.

Sven-Goran Eriksson sacked by Leicester City following poor start to the season

By Tom Bowers
Monday 24 October 2011

Former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson has been sacked by Leicester City following their poor start to the season.

The Foxes, who were widely tipped as pre-season promotion favourites, spent in excess of £10m this summer but have so far failed to see a return on their investment as they sit in 13th place.

A 3-0 home defeat to Millwall was the nail in the coffin for Eriksson who has been relieved of his duties by the club's ambitious Thai owners.

However the decision seems quite a knee-jerk reaction considering a win in that game would have potentially seen Leicester propelled into fourth place and as it stands they only sit two points outside of the play-off places.

Eriksson enjoyed a 43.64% win rate in his time at the King Power Stadium but must now look for new employment after becoming the third Championship managerial casualty this season.

I had my hopes when I saw the word sacked. Sadly I shouldn't be surprised to know that our arrogant board wouldn't have the bottle to do such a thing. I long for the day to see McLeish sacked.

Anyway, Sven righfully deserves to be fired. Underachived big time. How many times has guy had the boot now? He should be finished as a manager.

I long for our manager to be a success.

I don't find myself longing for people to lose their jobs on the basis that a few reactionary dullards have made their minds up.

Compass, when you saw the word 'sacked' you got your hopes up? Did you not read the word 'Sven' first? Seeing as you seem to prefer reading in reverse I think you are a "troll Bluenose pathetic" and you should "record the change".

Ancelotti is a cert for spurs next summer so i see mon going to sunderland or leicester-the foxes are 2 points off the top 4 and with money in january id bet on mon taking them up as champions if he takes the job-will be interesting to see if the rumours are true regarding mon having been spoken to about the sunderland job , if so Bruce can expect the hook very soon if sunderland want mon.

I believe he may be tempted by leicester till the end of the season and see where he takes them, but i have no doubt mon would get them promoted this season.

I can see Redknapp to the England job, agree with you Ancelotti to Spurs, Bruce to Blackburn, MON to Leicester, Flores to Villa ( said again recently he wants the Villa job) Sunderland, not sure about, McLiesh maybe.

I'd be surprised if MON went back there, but if he does, good luck to him.

I dont see him getting a top job and leicester with their finaances and only 2 points adrift of the top 4 would surely be a great chance to win promotion and enhance his reputation-either leicester or sunderland will get him i believe and i think he will be a success at either club, success to each of those would be establishing them in the top 10 of the premiership and he can do that and both have money to spend.

Obviously not a popular way of thinking on this site but i've got nothing against O'Neill. He brought a feel good factor back to the club which had been missing since Mr Little left, much better than the malaise we're experiencing under McLeish, and that's not a knock at McLeish.

I reckon Leicester didn't want to be shown up by Nottingham in the sacking a former England manager stakes.

You've gotta hope MON takes the gig.  Sort of full circle return and the potential for a hissy fit walk-out a year down the line would be high with that board. i don't think he will though. He's probably convinced himself he's a front runner for the Man U job or at least England

Whether he goes back to Leicester remains to be seen but Martin's re-appearance as an ITV pundit shows he's ready to get back on the horse. I'm thinking Wolves, once you start offering fans out after a match only a matter of time before Mick McCarthy walks. Anyway off to Grags for a pasty.

More scope for success at leicester or sunderland , wolves look relegation bound and mon has emotional ties to leicester and sunderland.

I think sunderland would get him if they sack bruce and leicester dont beat them to it, would be interesting if mon was in charge against us on saturday but bruce may have saved his skin with the win at bolton.
