Cheers guys, UTV

A bit overpriced. In fact it's very overpriced.
-
£33 for a ticket is overpriced ?!
-
Not in my book. That's about the going rate for a do like that I'd say. Sounds ace anyway.
-
Was going to say, I literally couldnt make it any cheaper !
We will aim to make money from raffles / auctions etc for our nominated charity, Neuroblastoma Alliance.
Plus, Deano is very funny !
-
Is the whole event for charity?
Or just the raffles / auctions? It's hard to tell.
-
It must be just me then. Good luck and all that, but the idea of spending up to £38 to watch two not so great ex footballers telling stories while eating a curry worth about £8 doesn't appeal to me.
Money for old rope, but I hope you raise a bit of cash for charity.
-
Two of my favourite former Villa players those two, I'd definitely go if I could get over.

Not so great ? I personally thought those two, and that particular era was the most exciting times at Villa Park in the post 82 era

' Net Proceeds ' as they call it.
Hopefully raise a few £k for a great cause

The price of the flight might be cheaper than a ticket for the do itself.
-
There are some right mis mogs / cheapskates around.
That's a good deal and they may not be "legends" in some peoples eyes but as a 15 year old standing on the holte I can't remember a better partnership that almost won us the title??
There with bells on.

You know, if you don't like it you could always stop posting sniping comments on the thread. Stop pissing on people's chips, you miserable git.
I'd love to go, but I think the tix will have gone by the time I get paid :(

PM me if you want me to hold one back until you get paid mate

The latter part is true, but it's still not worth £38!

You've obviously never had to catch a flight from the IOM. I could probably pay for a table of 10 and still spend less money than a flight.
Personally I think it sounds like a good deal. When you take into consideration the costs of hiring a venue, paying for the food and waiting staff, then the speakers' fees, that's cheap. As a company we take clients to events like this over here, and normally expect to pay well over £50 a head.
-
It was either this price with a curry meal, or around the £50 mark for a three course dinner.
With this being an event for the ' fans ' , we felt the cheaper option and more casual approach of a curry meal would work best.
We have Gazza on at the Burlington in October, and that one is £750 for a table of ten. Guessing you wont be coming along to that one either !!!

Nothing miserable or spiteful at all. Just giving my opinion that I think it's well overpriced for what it is.

Erm, no.

I'm surprised it is so cheap. Deano and Dalian can't be making too much on it and I doubt there will be very little profit at the end of it either.

Erm, no.
Perhaps you'd like to present a breakdown of the costs involved before declaring it to be expensive. It's not like they're wondering down the road for a curry in Sparkbrook.

Haha why would we want to do that ?! So people can find out what the ex players earn from these kind of things ?
Im sure you wouldnt want your wages broadcasted on a forum !
-
Dean Saunders will then take to the mic for his fantastic after dinner pitch.
Deano doing all the hardwork as per usual, nothing's changed.
-
Two players that bring back great memories. I'd love to be there, and £38 including dinner is very reasonable indeed.

And nor will Gazza on past form!
I remember a Deano and Dalian night at the old bingo hall. They did a quiz at the end and in time honoured school style you had to swop with your neighbour for marking puposes. Only my mate didn't bother and just wrote all the answers down as they were read out and submitted the sheet.
He won a signed football, and with a neck of purest brass, had his photo taken and it appeared in the programme at the next home game.
-
I would also liked to have gone met Deano and Dalian once before top men.
-
saunders is the only player i ever saw who ran rings round mcgrath- it was at the baseball ground and i think 89-90 season, saunders repeatedly turned him inside out and needless to say i was delighted when we signed him from liverpool a few years later
another memory of that day was a young lad who looked about 12 warming up in front of the away end with teeth as bright as floodlights-the soon to be wonderful dwight yorke.
anything other than curry ?
-
I'd have to say that they are probably my favourite Villa forward pairing, I just have so many great memories of watching them play.

Really riss, i thought you were only about 13.
yes good days, a dreadful journey to croydon to see us at wimbledon and i remember being behind the goal when dalian scored that goal - i thought hed mishit it at first and my oh fu.. soon changed to oh funtastic as the ball hit the net-froggatt also had a blinder that afternoon.Great days under big ron they really were.
-
Could someone please remind the penny pinching whingers about the season that Deano seemed to win Goal Of The Month almost every time on MOTD? And if my ailing memory serves me right also won goal of the season that year.
£38.00 for a chance to meet two of Villas best forwards over the last 20 years seems reasonable to me.

I think dalian won goal of the season not deano , i do remember being right behind that shot of deano s from about 40 yards or more , i think at home to ipswich , great goal
-
It was indeed Dalian's effort against Wimbledon that was Goal of the Season. The first Villa player to win it since Tony Morley 12 years before, and we haven't had another one since.
-
That was such an attractive football team. Remember sitting in the Trinity, first home game versus QPR. I think we won 4-1, Stan scored a cracker. Big Ron did make watching football very enjoyable. Didn't end so well, but good while it lasted.

I've met both Saunders and Atkinson a couple of times, and it certainly didn't cost me £38.
As the old saying goes, a fool and his money are soon parted.
-
I bet you've paid more than that to watch a Villa match though.
-
wish i was here but away on holiday. Sounds a top night and more than reasonable amount charged.
Some people are stuck in the eighties and wont go out for a pint cause they can buy a can for fifty pence. Top man with some money going to charity. dont worry about the abuse cause i find some of the comments ludicrous!
i will send a donation to the charity. have a great night!
-

Yes. And I've seen many on here moan about ticket prices when they've cost even less than the £38 quoted for a curry and a chat.

Oh stop with the hysterics. There's been no abuse.
-
i have heard of tight arses in my time, but i bet the tightest person on here always is last to buy his round, sits and works out exactley what they have eaten and gives the exact money when eating with friends and buys the cheapest food at the supermarket when doing a bbq with friends going home hungry! (if ever not so miserable to invite friends round, or even have friends!)
Some people need to take a long hard look at themselves and realise life is not a rehearsal! tight Fucker! embarrasment!
-

Err, thanks for that....
I'm still not going to pay £38 for a curry though.

Don't feed the troll.

Its each to their own, if you dont want to come along you dont have to. Like the people who refuse to pay ticket money for matches when they can watch it on the TV, it is all personal views at the end of the day.
Shaun Teale presenting it, Q and A with two very entertaining former players and then Deano does his after dinner pitch, which is worth the ticket fee alone - trust me he is very funny.
Curry, Keebab or a ten course dinner, this is a charity fundraiser which is designed to entertain fans and raise a few bob at the end. Food is not important, in my opinion

I've said this before, but I wish you all the luck in the world in raising money for charity, but I still think it's way overpriced for what it is, and I'm entitled to say that I think.
-
I'm just going out for what is essentially a pint of water with roughly 4% of alcohol in it, together with the remnants of some hops and yeast. At £2.80 it's a bloody rip off and costs way more than the constituent ingredients, but it's more about the experience than the cost. See you later.
-
blimey. You'd think the price was £138 given the fuss being created. It's clear that you won't be going, but it's not overpriced at all to do a social with a couple of ex-players for a good cause and a meal. Each to their own and all that, but I think you rubbed a few people the wrong way about this by complaining about the cost right off the bat. There's enough to moan about already that we don't need every thread reduced to misery.
-

Yawn, we get the idea Saunders.

Imagine having to pay £38 BEFORE you can buy a drink.

Are you being forced to pay? You can always just choose not to go.

I remember going to a fans forum in the Holte Suite when Deano & Dalian were at the height of their powers.
Doug put in an appearance of course. Doug kept pronouncing Dalians name as "Darlian". Eventually the penny dropped as fans and Deano said his name stressing the correct pronunction amidst general giggling in the audience. Doug then started pronouncing it correctly but then for no apparent reason started thinking he was a poet, calling him Dalian the Stallion. This meant more general mirth amongst the audience while the two players tried to keep a straight face in front of the club chairman.
-
Other players attending this look like Shaun Teale, Phil King, Earl Barrett & Neil Cox.
More to be confirmed,...
-
Rounding up final numbers now if anyone else wants any tickets ?

Well if they are only lookalikes then i agree £38 is bloody expensive ;)
-
I want to go!!!!
It says it's "not a current event"???????
Sold out????? **sad face**
-
It is nice thing to do but I don't bother with anything with talking as I will have to listen. I am deaf. Deano and Dalian are exciting pair of players. I think they are probably last exciting pair upfront we have. Wouldn't it be nice to have Deano playing with Bent :(
-
not one not two not three but FOUR DEANO scores and we want more!!!
-
Hi guys,
Two weeks on Friday this now - collecting in final numbers so those wanting tickets please email me at chris@pmhinternational.co.uk before Friday .
